TEAM FOUR EVENT LOG
READY: START. Roster: Noah Isaacs + Gunther Schwarz, Gintaro Suzukaze + Elda Marker, Dave Strider + Byakuya Kirigiri, Shouto Todoroki + Akira Kurusu, Eren Jaeger + Yusuke Kitagawa, Soleil Beaufort + Vera Weisz, Alessandro Vinsmoke + Yu Narukami, Cleo Ritter + Minako Arisato, Penelope Raban + Olive Freya Yun, Orihime Inoue + Matthew Murdock, Ryouta Ono + Baren Kaiyou, Prompto Argentum + Keigo Higashino, Zaveid Taleb + Ragna Edgson, Amelia Wagner + Kasen Kaneda On the morning of the fourth at 9am, you'll find yourself gathering at the Recollé Zoo and Aquarium. Many of you will find yourself partnered up and with a name in mind, and awaiting in front of you is a large bus with the Retrospec logo on the hood. A text comes through not long after, Zee's name attached. I'm no Ms. Frazzle, but I think this bus will do the trick. Hope you packed a book or something. Upon boarding the bus you'll find that's it's equipped for a longer road trip. There are snacks, books, video game consoles, and even a few beds and bathrooms. Just as well, seeing how you're going to be traveling north of the city, traveling through the woods for about seven hours. As you travel, the sky begins to change colors and the temperature drops toward the end of your journey. Outside the window you'll see a mountain range and snow on the ground, and stars streak across the sky as you enter the beautiful region of Magatus. ![]() Permanently semi-dark with beautiful colors streaking across the sky, Magatus is filled with rivers, grass, coniferous trees and snow-capped mountains. The temperature is quite frigid, so travelers will need to bundle up! The region known as Magatus is fairly open and while there may not a huge population like Recollé, there are small clusters of buildings and homes that characters can find by exploring this region. There is roughly 1,500 square miles to cover in the area claiming to be Magatus and some parts of this region may experiences changes in weather including heavy snow, ice, and blackouts. Most of the towns are quaint and friendly though most people appear to mind their own business. If spoken to, they will explain that they’ve been enjoying their time alone and away from the hustle and bustle of city life, though it may be a little hard to know if this is actually true. Some of the younger ones will say they’ve lived here their whole life, but most will shy away from the topic of where they came from. Shops that can be found seem to range in the realm of basic general stores, hardware stores, mini foodmarts, and weaponry. The Magatus people truly live a simple life. The true nature of this region doesn’t seem to come out until nightfall, however. As the light fades and the sky darkens, the colors brighten above and the sound of wolves begin howling nonstop. Depending, you may even hear the sound of snarling and growling, quick footsteps crunching through fresh snow and irritated barking. The townspeople know better than to stay out at night when the wolves run and the shadows dance, and they would advise that anyone from out of town take cover. Too bad they won’t invite you in. You’re on your own out in the wilderness. This is the Team Four Event Log! You are free to toplevel and thread as you choose on this log, but only team members may utilize this log.
Remember, your activity to qualify for your two free memories and one item is supplying at least 30 comments spread over the three objectives per group (minimum of 5 comments per objective!) with at least three members of your groups. You will not be eligible if you do not participate in all three objectives somehow, and you will not be eligible if you only stick with your preferred partner! People who are paired with partners will experience some of the following: -Telepathic connections, but only the thoughts you don’t want your partner to actually hear. You can also use this to influence your partner’s thoughts. -Color fades when you’re not cooperating, it brightens when you are. -Cause and effect. If something happens to your partner, you feel it (i.e. if your partner trips somewhere, you’ll feel the effects.) -Timers. You and your partner will have a countdown embedded somewhere (hand, foot, chest, whatever) and if you don’t complete your missions and see each other before the timer runs out, consequences occur. These are not required and you may play with these as little or as much as you want! Important links to mod toplevels are: Mod Questions, Participation Reporting, NPC questions. Please be aware you are responsible for reporting your own participation & objective completion efforts with links. You must ICly tap into the log within the first 48 hours, or you will be removed from your team. If your activity is low per objective, the moderators may reach out to you about reassignment as well. The schedule for Team Four is as follows: Feb 3rd: Objective 1 posted (9PM EST) | Threading for Travel to Location | Threading for Objective OneObjectives will be given in mod toplevels to this post with instructions; please check the log currently for Objective 1 to see how this will work. |

so. fuck. dave's first thought about wind is john even though it's pointless and obviously not john being an idiot about his aspect, and then it's "what the fuck" as he feels himself falling.
but, you know. dave strider can fly.
he's pretty sure the other two guys can't, and it's a little hard to see, but he snaps out his hands and tries to grab arms or collars (presumably they can rearrange themselves after) and he's not as strong as his best friend but dave has been in heavy ninja training since birth. (had been. whatever) and is perfectly capable of slowing the fall of two other people plus himself to a crawl.
so they'll at least touch down on the snow nicely.
or like
dave will hover above it looking completely and utterly offended. ]
No???? [ CAN THEY GO BACK AND PICK ANOTHER DOOR ]
no subject
Baren honestly doesn't expect it - but he's probably looking around when he realizes that his feet are no longer touching the ground and he has an excellent vantage point? Nice. There's the sound of a screaming BUGYAAAAAAAAAAAA and then he's holding his arms out to catch this surprise Tanuki before Tanuki-san slams into the snow all by himself.]
You too, huh.
[And then he'll just let himself get dropped, shaking some snow out of his hair (and there's the ring of his hair bells as he does).
He turns to Dave and with a completely straight face:]
... are you allergic?

It happens so quickly. They're standing there and then they're not -- there's not even time to scream before they're plummeting, the air around them boiling hot.
He tries to breathe and he's not sure if it's the speed of the fall or the heat in the air that chokes him. There's no time to think. ]
--Mada!
[ a gasped word, swallowed by the quiet roar of the falling lava.
Mada bursts into life to grab Sanji and Yusuke, curling the two boys into its arms and slowing their descent, able to safely lower them to what turns out to be a path.
This, of course, leaves Yu without support. And before Mada even sets Sanji and Yusuke on their feet, Yu goes kerplunk into the lava, disappearing beneath a small spout of molten rock that swallows him up.
#byebitch ]

-- Oi, Yu!
[In the back of his mind he knows it's a waste, the bastard can withstand fire. Fuck it though, Mada's gonna have to keep Sanji in place if he doesn't want the guy to rush to the edge of the path and very nearly dive in after Yu.
Off to a great start, guys.]
no subject
is anyone surprised this is an immediate train wreck? aNYONE?There really is no time to stop and think, there's just the immediate blast of hot air and nothing beneath their feet -- and then the impact of Mada's grasp stopping the fall midair.
Yusuke, however, is not aware that Yu is impervious to the fiery death he appears to have fallen to. So he looks... a little bewildered? Panicked? How the heck is he going to explain to Yosuke that his boyfriend fell into lava on one of their missions?? ]

[ after seeing the whirlwind of nonsense that swept up the others in their group, keigo was admittedly hesitant to even move forward. but something overrode that desire to hang back, and soon enough, keigo found himself alongside two others, climbing up the set of stairs.
it was almost like he was in a trance, or even just watching himself move, helpless to stop it. everything felt murky and distant, up until the three of them entered that door, one by one, and it shut behind them silently.
everything hit keigo at once. like taking a breath after being held underwater, he gasped sharply, staggering at the sudden sensations overwhelming him. a steady throb developed behind his eyes, pulling his face into a grimace as he squinted through the pain.
well, there certainly was some impossible space going on here. the shock keigo felt momentarily staved off the pain of the spiritual density in the area, and he took their surroundings in with no measure of ease. ]
W-what... what the heck.

Once they reach the location hidden behind the door, Ragna is─ well, he can't exactly say he's not surprised, because this sort of thing will never not feel weird, but at the same time it's close enough to what happened back in August that he can at least try to take it all in stride. And hell, this place is pretty neat ─ much better than the snowy mountains they've just left a moment ago. It's too bad they're here on a mission and not for vacation. Speaking of which...]
Nice scenery and all, but what are we supposed to even do here?
[This place doesn't exactly scream "dark energy" if you ask him.]
no subject
The valley is vast as it is empty, making his raise his eyebrows in confusion. Not at all is he taken aback by the change of scenery. With hands on his hips, he gives the valley a good look around, though the distaste still lingers in the pit of his stomach. They can't just stand around here and mull over the temporary possession. ]
This kind of reminds me of the bunker where the doors took us to random places—pocket dimensions, right? [ He elbows Ragna!! Hey, buddy. We're back at it again. ] We can start by gathering information as we explore.
[ He's keen enough to notice that Keigo is antsier than usual. ]
Keigo, are you all right?

once the door’s open and magnus trots them through, the shine— the sunshine is a little unexpected, even moreso when most of the others were spirited away in screams. snow is nowhere to be seen, and the scent of fresh grass and spring-like temperatures sift by them in harmless breezes. magnus himself seems happier, stopping in his lope to roll around field and its nature briefly before he’s up and walking again, leaving a sniffed out trail that leads into rows of houses and a bridge that stretches far across clean, calming waters.
well. this looks far from corrupted when you stop and stare. magnus woofs to them before disappearing in a puff of black smoke carried away by the air. turning to the party; if there were more of them, they could split to cover more ground, but considering the short and odd number: ]
. . . Don’t let it fool you. [ it looks nice and all, but when can you trust those pocket dimensions?? ] It’s probably not as empty as it looks.
no subject
Hmm? [A glance over and she grins sheepishly.] Oh, right. Yeah, we should definitely go look around. Where should we go first?
no subject
The houses first, I assume.

So getting sucked up on the winds is not what she signed up for? I mean, it's what is happening and she did resolve to help out here, so apparently this is something that needs doing, but this is not what she initially signed up for.
But then, whatever, they're urged to a room and the then deposited into a fall down a rocky incline. I mean the room was on the second floor but she's not appreciating (and Silver probably isn't going to appreciate) the fact that she sort of smacks her face into a stone immediately before the reflexes kick in to fix her landing.
Ow. ]
no subject
Thankfully, he's not going to catch his balance by way of his face - not like it would particularly matter all that much, because his face is approximately as durable as the rest of him, but the fact remains that he quite likes his face. Rather, he catches most of the impact with his shoulder before rather gracelessly ending up halfway down the incline before he manages to stop sucking at everything ever.
But you know what, as long as you catlike grace the landing at the bottom and make it look like you totally meant to do that, it's probably fine? Probably.
Point being, he totally meant to do that.]
no subject
Once they've all finally stopped he moves to stand, checks if anything is broken and once he's satisfied that nothing is, he starts dusting himself off. Ugh, maybe he should have worn that stupid outfit he received, at least he wouldn't care what happened to it...]
Well, this is highly unpleasant.

[ In a dizzying instant Matt suddenly finds his senses flooded with the sensations of a completely different place. He recognizes Shouto nearby by the clashing temperatures of his power and the mass of another member of the group he isn't familiar with yet. He takes a breath and feigns looking around at the scenery, in reality listening and feeling the air. He can feel warm sunlight on the bared bottom half of his face and the air is crawling with energy that feels to his super senses like he's standing under a blanket of static dancing on his skin. ]
Interesting... I've never come this close to tasting electricity before.

[All things considered, exploring a haunted lodge is night really the worst thing that could happen. This is better than waiting room hell, at least, and Pen feels a little more prepared for it now that she has some sort of protective gear. Yes, the armor is a little strange, but the soft leather makes her feel stronger and more confident, and that goes a long way towards making this less frightful. Rifle held ready, she marches to the door her team had been tasked with, planting her feet firmly in front of it.]
Okay. I'm ready. Let's get this over with.
[Pushing the door open with the barrel of the gun, she waits for the two of them to give the go ahead before stepping into a completely empty room. Just...empty.]
Huh. Okay...let's see if there's anything actually in here.
no subject
[She walks into the center, eyes flicking to wall in turn, then at the back of the door, then the ceiling. This whole thing felt wrong.]
[...which wasn't an unbiased feeling. The lodge set her on edge, and instilled a sense of paranoia in the tall woman. Maybe, just maybe, she was taking it too far.]
[Then the floor lurked beneath her.]

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA--
Thankfully(?), Vera, clearly the most aerodynamic(?) of the three, lands before Soleil does. Unfortunately for Soleil's petite princess, Soleil in all her beefiness lands atop her. Orihime follows, the other two providing her a soft-ish landing. Thank goodness none of them are hurt despite all of Soleil's expectations. She lets out her breath in relief and just...lays there. She appreciates the feeling of not falling to her impending death, among other things.
Sandwiched between Vera and Orihime. I've had that fantasy more than once, but this isn't at all what I had in mind.]
no subject
Instead she's plummeting through the clouds down to who even knows where, screaming her head off all the way down. A well-placed glyph breaks her fall, slowing her down enough to not be harmed, but it doesn't do much when Soleil comes crashing down on her, or Orihime after, leaving the pint-sized heiress flattened under two larger women. At least her Aura is able to protect her from most of the damage, or else she may have been in trouble.
Groaning, Vera squirms, trying to pry herself free from her muscular friend.]
