TEAM FOUR EVENT LOG
READY: START. Roster: Noah Isaacs + Gunther Schwarz, Gintaro Suzukaze + Elda Marker, Dave Strider + Byakuya Kirigiri, Shouto Todoroki + Akira Kurusu, Eren Jaeger + Yusuke Kitagawa, Soleil Beaufort + Vera Weisz, Alessandro Vinsmoke + Yu Narukami, Cleo Ritter + Minako Arisato, Penelope Raban + Olive Freya Yun, Orihime Inoue + Matthew Murdock, Ryouta Ono + Baren Kaiyou, Prompto Argentum + Keigo Higashino, Zaveid Taleb + Ragna Edgson, Amelia Wagner + Kasen Kaneda On the morning of the fourth at 9am, you'll find yourself gathering at the Recollé Zoo and Aquarium. Many of you will find yourself partnered up and with a name in mind, and awaiting in front of you is a large bus with the Retrospec logo on the hood. A text comes through not long after, Zee's name attached. I'm no Ms. Frazzle, but I think this bus will do the trick. Hope you packed a book or something. Upon boarding the bus you'll find that's it's equipped for a longer road trip. There are snacks, books, video game consoles, and even a few beds and bathrooms. Just as well, seeing how you're going to be traveling north of the city, traveling through the woods for about seven hours. As you travel, the sky begins to change colors and the temperature drops toward the end of your journey. Outside the window you'll see a mountain range and snow on the ground, and stars streak across the sky as you enter the beautiful region of Magatus. ![]() Permanently semi-dark with beautiful colors streaking across the sky, Magatus is filled with rivers, grass, coniferous trees and snow-capped mountains. The temperature is quite frigid, so travelers will need to bundle up! The region known as Magatus is fairly open and while there may not a huge population like Recollé, there are small clusters of buildings and homes that characters can find by exploring this region. There is roughly 1,500 square miles to cover in the area claiming to be Magatus and some parts of this region may experiences changes in weather including heavy snow, ice, and blackouts. Most of the towns are quaint and friendly though most people appear to mind their own business. If spoken to, they will explain that they’ve been enjoying their time alone and away from the hustle and bustle of city life, though it may be a little hard to know if this is actually true. Some of the younger ones will say they’ve lived here their whole life, but most will shy away from the topic of where they came from. Shops that can be found seem to range in the realm of basic general stores, hardware stores, mini foodmarts, and weaponry. The Magatus people truly live a simple life. The true nature of this region doesn’t seem to come out until nightfall, however. As the light fades and the sky darkens, the colors brighten above and the sound of wolves begin howling nonstop. Depending, you may even hear the sound of snarling and growling, quick footsteps crunching through fresh snow and irritated barking. The townspeople know better than to stay out at night when the wolves run and the shadows dance, and they would advise that anyone from out of town take cover. Too bad they won’t invite you in. You’re on your own out in the wilderness. This is the Team Four Event Log! You are free to toplevel and thread as you choose on this log, but only team members may utilize this log.
Remember, your activity to qualify for your two free memories and one item is supplying at least 30 comments spread over the three objectives per group (minimum of 5 comments per objective!) with at least three members of your groups. You will not be eligible if you do not participate in all three objectives somehow, and you will not be eligible if you only stick with your preferred partner! People who are paired with partners will experience some of the following: -Telepathic connections, but only the thoughts you don’t want your partner to actually hear. You can also use this to influence your partner’s thoughts. -Color fades when you’re not cooperating, it brightens when you are. -Cause and effect. If something happens to your partner, you feel it (i.e. if your partner trips somewhere, you’ll feel the effects.) -Timers. You and your partner will have a countdown embedded somewhere (hand, foot, chest, whatever) and if you don’t complete your missions and see each other before the timer runs out, consequences occur. These are not required and you may play with these as little or as much as you want! Important links to mod toplevels are: Mod Questions, Participation Reporting, NPC questions. Please be aware you are responsible for reporting your own participation & objective completion efforts with links. You must ICly tap into the log within the first 48 hours, or you will be removed from your team. If your activity is low per objective, the moderators may reach out to you about reassignment as well. The schedule for Team Four is as follows: Feb 3rd: Objective 1 posted (9PM EST) | Threading for Travel to Location | Threading for Objective OneObjectives will be given in mod toplevels to this post with instructions; please check the log currently for Objective 1 to see how this will work. |

Summoning Goemon once more is instinctive, flinging up a wall of ice between the fireballs and the three of them. It won't last, he knows that, but it gives them a brief reprieve. Even if, with the intensity of that heat, it will likely only be brief. ]

[ But it's almost impossible with the way the gophers are swarming. Yu has Mada knock them aside, but he can't risk too many more spells -- he'll run dangerously low on energy soon. But knocking them away barely even deters them. ]
We have to take some of them out, there's no choice!
no subject
Playtime is over. Go in for the kill.
And so he does, either smacking back attacks or simply kicking the monsters into the walls, and grits his teeth through any counterattack that manages to graze him. When one of the gophers twitches and then stops moving, the tower above them rumbles its dissent, large cracks starting to shoot down the blackened stone like spiderwebs.]
no subject
He's trying to just knock the gophers out of the way so someone can get out of the window un-ambushed. Hopefully. But there are a lot of them, and the do seem to be fond of running into his blade - another one crumbles and cracks under the flat of his katana, and the tower gives another ominous rumble as a shower of stone and dust litters the ground below. ]
no subject
Whole chunks of stone begin to fall like meteors and crash into the ground with such force that the coal spits up in waves. And Sanji realizes too late the problem here. When one of the broken pieces of tower collides with the monster, the damn thing is crushed instantly.
More of the tower collapses. More debris falls. More of the monsters are killed. And what started as a slow burn has ignited into a forest fire that's gonna kill them if they don't--]
We have to leave. [Running for that window] Now! Everyone get the hell out of here!
no subject
This means a couple of things, most notably that he no longer has fire resistance. But this also means he can have his Persona start physically attacking the gophers so that he doesn't have to waste more of his stamina. The tradeoff is that it actually hurts him, but he thinks he can sustain it long enough to get them out of there, get them safe--
Until the cascade starts.
It happens so quickly. It's so loud, the scream of stone and fire, and it happens all at once as more gophers die and the whole tower starts to cave in around them.
Yu has barely enough time to look back over his shoulder and realize a huge chunk of stone is coming loose right above the window. Sanji and Yusuke will be crushed. ]
No!
[ His Persona moves. The tower wall will simply explode outward in a hail of huge stones as Sraosha actually attacks the wall, clearing the way for Sanji and Yusuke to escape.
Which leaves him unguarded as the tower collapses onto him, burying him in rubble. It happens as fast as you can blink.
Sraosha disappears. ]

-- but the pain--
There's someone screaming and only when the world erupts into fire, when the voice screeching in his ear starts to go hoarse does Sanji realize it's him, and the world tilts sharply as he crashes into something (a wall, Yusuke, the ground, he doesn't know he can't see). The pressure builds like a thousand stones crushed against his head and abdomen until breathing is unbearable--
The land is already made of lava; nothing with catch fire more than it already is. But the flames flare around his body like a vortex as he continues to scream.]
no subject
And then there's just panic - ringing in his head, pained yelling that causes his chest to clench with fear and worry and he can't see Yu anywhere, and--
and he needs to focus. ]
Goemon--!
[ He barely has enough time to watch Goemon burst into action, moving to the fallen rocks to knock as many as he can aside in order to free Yu, and quickly--quicker. He feels his vision waver slightly as Goemon does as he asks, going from knocking them aside to smashing them as fast as Yusuke can stand to keep him going. But he can't sit and wait for Goemon to be done.
Even with a blur in his vision, he's able to scramble across some of the fallen debris, but not able to get any closer while the entire area around Sanji is covered in fire and heat. He... ... what is he supposed to do?
He doesn't know what to do. Until those rocks are moved, Sanji will still be in pain, and Yu is still trapped--- ]
...
[ ... ]
I... [ Dammit all to hell. ] I can't help you while you're setting everything on fire...! [ A glance behind him shows that Goemon is still pulling stone away, quicker than Yusuke could manage alone, but the longer he's out the slower and heavier his body is starting to feel. ]
no subject
There are needles in his throat with every swallow, his lungs are filled with soot and ash, and his vision blurs in and out like a filter -- stupid details for him to focus on, but his mind jumps for anything that will grant him reprieve. He grits his teeth and curls in on himself with his arms wrapped around himself, until the screams have nowhere to go but back to his abdomen.
He's gonna kick Yu's ass, he swears to himself. Break every stupid rib in that asshole's body, the fuck does he think he's doing, getting hurt on his watch -- (breathe, keep breathing, in and out)-- and when Sanji had made a promise to his swordsman, too, not even ten minutes ago, to not die without permission -- what a joke, everyone here is twisting his arm.
Slowly, the fire retreats into a coil around his body, so that Yusuke can approach the debris-fallen tower with their comrade still missing.]

Some of the rubble will tumble aside as if pushed from within. Which it was, thanks to this guy. Seiten Taisei continues to push at the rubble, though the Persona is slow and weak.
Yu himself is pinned to the floor, not moving, though if you look long enough you can see he's still breathing. He's practically gray with stone dust and his legs from the waist down are crushed beneath heavy stone.
But he's alive. He's breathing and alive and barely conscious.
And the tower continues to crumble around them. ]
no subject
That sense of relief doesn’t last. ]
Goemon! Pick up Yu — be careful with him, we have to get him out of here and get help.
[ He’s already turning his attention to Sanji as he speaks though, and without waiting for the last of any flames or ember like glow to fade from him, Yusuke grits his teeth, reaches forwards and grabs Sanji’s wrist, insistently tugging to get him to stand up. Burns or overheated skin are inconsequential given the state Yu, and by proxy Sanji are in. ]
You may complain about poor bedside manner later, but we have to get out of here, now.
no subject
Like his legs are crushed.
But they're not, the bone and muscle are all intact. Before he can fall, instinct kicks in and his braces his feet on the ground, locks his knees in place. The look he sends to Yusuke is dulled with pain, eyes pale in color -- but there's awareness, at least, proof enough he's not dead or dying (yet).]
Where's Yu?
[His voice seeps weakly from his throat, eyes drawing to the side as he struggles to keep steady.]
no subject
The instant his legs finally come loose from the rubble Seiten Taisei vanishes. Yu's energy is guttering out like a low candle barely clinging to flame. It's sheer force of will that keeps him conscious when his whole body is shrieking burning stabbing pain. Goemon will have to pull him the rest of the way free. ]
G... go...
[ they may not even hear him, since he barely has enough force to even speak. ]
no subject
And then they just have to get out of there. His limbs feel heavy and there’s a headache pounding in his temples now but... he’s the least injured right now. He’s not reeling from physical or proxy damage, so he has to keep going. ]
He’s with Goemon. Don’t worry, they’ll be out of here quicker than we’ll be.
no subject
But he hears the words and with no other option, puts his blind trust into them. Yu's alive. That'll have to suffice for now.
Down the stairs they go, then, slower than Yusuke would like but at least faster than Sanji thinks he can handle. So they'll make it out alive, and that's what's most important; Yu as well, protected by Goemon's strength.
Unfortunately, the landscape isn't kinder to them now that they've completed their quest. It remains heat and brimstone as far as the eye can see, save the doorway the group will be aiming for, hung in the sky. By the time Yusuke and Sanji stumble to the edge of the cliff with Goemon on their heels, his breaths will come a little easier, his footing more assured.
-- But that doesn't solve the problem of crossing the wide pit. It's like the doorway is completely out of reach.]
S'one thing after another... [he weakly lifts his head.] Oi, anyone got some ideas...?
no subject
Goemon carries him from the tower and is in fact waiting for the other two to emerge. Now it's just them and the chasm.
More than anything he just wants to sleep. Some distant piece of his mind registers the fact that all this horrible shrieking pain is probably a good thing; it means he isn't paralyzed. On the other hand, it's not exactly a fun experience. Even so, he can't sleep yet. The hardest thing he's ever done is peel his eyes open once he hears Sanji speak. ]
... I can ...
[ He stretches out a hand.
This will be the last thing he does and he knows it. But through sheer force of will he manages to curl his fingers around a tarot card, and Kohryu appears, ready to let the whole beaten entourage hop on.
Yu shuts his eyes again. He just has to stay awake... as long as he can... ]
no subject
[ Before he can properly get the words out, there's a flash and ... ... it's the same dragon he's seen Akira use in the past. It's enough to make him pause, and by the time he's out of that momentary blip, the dragon is hovering in front of them, waiting.
...
Yu will be fine, no matter what, as long as he can keep Goemon summoned. But if he and Sanji don't think of something, then...
... they don't really have a choice. ]
Come on. Not far now.
[ He will literally drag Sanji if he has to, until they're on that dragon and ready to go. ]
no subject
But through the ebb and flow of pain that has him automatically curling again, Sanji can feel his thoughts, hoarse demands that they think up another strategy. Damn it, Yu is barely conscious and already put in his time. Why the hell are they letting him run another Persona? This will end in a fuckin disaster, he knows it.
He reaches through their connection, too exhausted from the sharp jabs in his abdomen to be anything but openly concerned. C'mon, Yu, stay awake.]
no subject
Sanji, for his efforts, will feel a flicker of recognition. Even his emotions are guttering out, like there's barely anything there to register, but Sanji will get a fleeting feeling of reassurance. Yu shifts slightly in Goemon's arms, and his whole body registers the protesting shriek of pain that comes of it. Dimly he realizes he is incredibly nauseous.
Just one more thing to worry about later. Once all three boys have secured a spot atop Kohryu, the dragon will begin the slow journey to their escape. ]
no subject
...
He's not wrong. The reaction comes instinctively, when Yusuke feels the solid weight of Kohryu just dissolve beneath him. He doesn't have time to look over and check on Yu; not before they're tumbling too fast through the air towards the lava, that is. So he grits his teeth and doesn't look, instead he just... acts. Grabs Sanji and holds him as close as he can so when they hit the block of ice that's formed beneath them, he doesn't slide away.
There's little time to worry about the ice melting, as he realises they're sliding anyway. The block is huge, and long and angled towards towards the door, and they're going to crash into it if they're not careful. He angles himself so that he's the one who takes the brunt of smacking into the door, and after a couple of seconds of fumbling he manages to get the handle of the door open, so they're sliding through the door and into the dim, darkness of what looks like the ski lodge? It's cooler, and there's no lava and right now that's more than enough.
As soon as Goemon is through the door, and Yu is set down on the ground near them, he vanishes and Yusuke slumps forward, bracing himself on his hands and breathing like he just ran several marathons all at once. ]
no subject
Sanji has no idea what just happened but he's never been so fuckin happy to be away from fire in his life.
And perhaps the most ironic twist to this is with Yu having fallen into blessed unconsciousness, the link between the partners settles into place, pain finally muted on Sanji's end. Lying flat on his back and staring at the ceiling, he takes a full breath of air without the soot and fire, and his body only barely flinches from pain.
Won't erase the deep pit of exhaustion that tries to lull him into sleep, but... shit. They made it, didn't they? Him, Yusuke, and--]
Shit.
[Rolling onto his hands and knees, nearly bumping into Yusuke]
Oi, you still with me? Is Yu alright?
no subject
We need... a healer. [ There are some Personas who can heal - he remembers that much. Goemon isn’t one of them, he’d have a low level spell by now if he could cast healing magic. Ann does, he remembers that too, but Ann isn’t here. Yu probably does, if he’s capable of multiple Personas like Akira is...
Wait. ]
Akira might... have a Persona that could heal him. [ Is talking supposed to be this tiring? ] Someone else with a Persona might... not Goemon though.
no subject
I'll carry him. [Not up for debate, apparently, as Sanji's already trying to stand -- but doesn't quite succeed when he's forced to kneel on one leg before he topples over. Shit, body, get it together.] Floor's not gonna be good on his body right now.
... You call Akira, let 'im know we're here, then take a break...
no subject
[ His brow creases a little more, trying to keep focus as he props himself up against the wall so his hands are free to dig around for his phone, wherever it might be in his bag.
It's very clear that he's not going to get far - the motions are slow and clumsy, and take far more energy and effort than it should. He just needs to make the call, and then they can get Yu sorted and...
... No.
Nope.
Sorry Sanji, but he's absolutely slumping back against the wall. Good night. ]
