TEAM FOUR EVENT LOG
READY: START. Roster: Noah Isaacs + Gunther Schwarz, Gintaro Suzukaze + Elda Marker, Dave Strider + Byakuya Kirigiri, Shouto Todoroki + Akira Kurusu, Eren Jaeger + Yusuke Kitagawa, Soleil Beaufort + Vera Weisz, Alessandro Vinsmoke + Yu Narukami, Cleo Ritter + Minako Arisato, Penelope Raban + Olive Freya Yun, Orihime Inoue + Matthew Murdock, Ryouta Ono + Baren Kaiyou, Prompto Argentum + Keigo Higashino, Zaveid Taleb + Ragna Edgson, Amelia Wagner + Kasen Kaneda On the morning of the fourth at 9am, you'll find yourself gathering at the Recollé Zoo and Aquarium. Many of you will find yourself partnered up and with a name in mind, and awaiting in front of you is a large bus with the Retrospec logo on the hood. A text comes through not long after, Zee's name attached. I'm no Ms. Frazzle, but I think this bus will do the trick. Hope you packed a book or something. Upon boarding the bus you'll find that's it's equipped for a longer road trip. There are snacks, books, video game consoles, and even a few beds and bathrooms. Just as well, seeing how you're going to be traveling north of the city, traveling through the woods for about seven hours. As you travel, the sky begins to change colors and the temperature drops toward the end of your journey. Outside the window you'll see a mountain range and snow on the ground, and stars streak across the sky as you enter the beautiful region of Magatus. ![]() Permanently semi-dark with beautiful colors streaking across the sky, Magatus is filled with rivers, grass, coniferous trees and snow-capped mountains. The temperature is quite frigid, so travelers will need to bundle up! The region known as Magatus is fairly open and while there may not a huge population like Recollé, there are small clusters of buildings and homes that characters can find by exploring this region. There is roughly 1,500 square miles to cover in the area claiming to be Magatus and some parts of this region may experiences changes in weather including heavy snow, ice, and blackouts. Most of the towns are quaint and friendly though most people appear to mind their own business. If spoken to, they will explain that they’ve been enjoying their time alone and away from the hustle and bustle of city life, though it may be a little hard to know if this is actually true. Some of the younger ones will say they’ve lived here their whole life, but most will shy away from the topic of where they came from. Shops that can be found seem to range in the realm of basic general stores, hardware stores, mini foodmarts, and weaponry. The Magatus people truly live a simple life. The true nature of this region doesn’t seem to come out until nightfall, however. As the light fades and the sky darkens, the colors brighten above and the sound of wolves begin howling nonstop. Depending, you may even hear the sound of snarling and growling, quick footsteps crunching through fresh snow and irritated barking. The townspeople know better than to stay out at night when the wolves run and the shadows dance, and they would advise that anyone from out of town take cover. Too bad they won’t invite you in. You’re on your own out in the wilderness. This is the Team Four Event Log! You are free to toplevel and thread as you choose on this log, but only team members may utilize this log.
Remember, your activity to qualify for your two free memories and one item is supplying at least 30 comments spread over the three objectives per group (minimum of 5 comments per objective!) with at least three members of your groups. You will not be eligible if you do not participate in all three objectives somehow, and you will not be eligible if you only stick with your preferred partner! People who are paired with partners will experience some of the following: -Telepathic connections, but only the thoughts you don’t want your partner to actually hear. You can also use this to influence your partner’s thoughts. -Color fades when you’re not cooperating, it brightens when you are. -Cause and effect. If something happens to your partner, you feel it (i.e. if your partner trips somewhere, you’ll feel the effects.) -Timers. You and your partner will have a countdown embedded somewhere (hand, foot, chest, whatever) and if you don’t complete your missions and see each other before the timer runs out, consequences occur. These are not required and you may play with these as little or as much as you want! Important links to mod toplevels are: Mod Questions, Participation Reporting, NPC questions. Please be aware you are responsible for reporting your own participation & objective completion efforts with links. You must ICly tap into the log within the first 48 hours, or you will be removed from your team. If your activity is low per objective, the moderators may reach out to you about reassignment as well. The schedule for Team Four is as follows: Feb 3rd: Objective 1 posted (9PM EST) | Threading for Travel to Location | Threading for Objective OneObjectives will be given in mod toplevels to this post with instructions; please check the log currently for Objective 1 to see how this will work. |
OBJECTIVE 3.5
At the end sits a door that used to be white and gold with 9 slots in it and black, rotting wood eating away at the frame. A whimper's heard from Magnus as he steps in front of it, snarling at the darkness spreading before woofing at the party to deposit their gems in the correct-colored slots.
Before the party can step through the door, they'll soon hear a voice inside their heads, frustrated and weary as the wolf paws the door again.
"You must find a way to win. He took everything from this place and he'll continue to take everything from you. Stop him."
The door opens to a large hallway, dark and echoing as Magnus disappears in a puff of smoke. The party will walk forward into a large open coliseum where the sounds of several spirits are cheering, booing, and making all sorts of commotion in the dark. It will be hard for several party members to notice, but for those with the gift of spiritual sight they'll find that ever seat is packed.
And then, without warning, a noise comes from over head.
"Round One!
Wave after wave of monsters pour out and rush for the party, strange creatures and dangerous ones, too as they attack from the air and groundpound the earth.
There will be nearly thirty monsters all set to stun and destroy the party, ready to tear them to pieces but if they look above they'll see a tower for special guests to watch the festivities and a shadow of a man keeping an eye on the proceedings.
The party will have to defeat the entire crowd of creatures and they will receive a reward that can change their view on life forever.
[ooc: hey guys, here's 3.5! You're free to do with this as you please, but I will generally assume the group is victorious somehow and write up a closer for you on 3/3! This group will be back in the city ICly early on 3/3, just in time for more Retrospec shenanigans. Fun! Thanks for your patience!]

Cleo's immediately pulling Togusa's pistol out, and smoothly firing into the hydra's neck. Her instincts from Neferti's life take over, and she's immediately following up the loud gunshots with a shout.]
Everyone with healing abilities, to the back! Those who fight in close range, to the front! Magic and guns, to the middle! Healers, prioritize the heaviest wounds to keep everyone in fighting shape! As long as we can keep a numbers advantage, we'll win!
[She's... not sure what the plan is if she gets ignored, but whatever. She's tossing out what she feels to be correct. That said, she's firing the rest of her gun's rounds into the nearest monster.]
no subject
It won't hold forever, but this should give our healers some time to work. Focus on defending the sides so we don't get surrounded.

[Without any time to reload, Cleo puts the revolver away, and draws her sword instead, plunging it into a chimera's neck... and getting smacked away for her troubles, but. Well, it worked?]
I'll take the right side.

Stepping into the Arena, she calls both Tons and Gilgamesh to even out the odds some. The huge man laughs wildly and draws five enormous swords and one that looks like a nerf bat. Whoops.]
HAHAHAHA! Now we fight!
[And he's on the nearest minotaur like an avalanche, all six arms working in unison. Tons draws his knife and rushes towards another, going for knees...while Pen herself raises her hands and casts Bubble on the nearest people. It's a simple enough buff, and she follows up with taking her rifle and looking for an opportunistic target. One of the manticores, right in the wing.]
If you have range, try and get those things out of the sky!

[There's a sound, one of the hydras moving their way...]

Hydra at your 9 o'clock! I'll keep it distracted!
[ Now this, this is something he has no memory of doing. The only monsters he has memories of fighting in either lifetime are human, some who acted more like it than others but all human. Unless there was a second alien attack on New York
Fuck your Infinity War Thanos. Coming soon to a theater near you!he doubts he ever went up against anything else. God help him.The heavy footsteps of the Hydra make it clear this will be a great deal harder than fighting four big snakes with their tales tied together. Keep it busy. Right. He doesn't have to finish it, he just needs to annoy it for a while. How about some classic bait? He grabs a reasonably sized rock from the ground and chucks it right at one of the hydra's faces, hitting it in the eye. All four heads begin hissing at him. ]
Yeah I figured you wouldn't like that. How about one for each head?

[The hydra lurches forward, snarling and snapping at Matt. Two heads lash out, coming from the sides, while the other two lunge forward right down the middle. Best move, Matt.
Pen's fingertips begin to work in arcane motions that he can't see, but there's a definite pressure building in the air around her. She figures the guy's blind based on the costume, though, so she calls out.]
I'll just need a second or two. Then it'll be bleeding out. Promise you that.

The nice thing about snakes striking; the way they dramatically rear back. He doesn't know how many heads are about to strike but they're definitely going to aim at the place where he's standing. The moment he hears those long necks slicing through the air he leaps backward. Those jaws come close but miss. He tumbles to the side to strike one of the outer heads and nearly gets struck by the fourth head. That would be the second reptile mouth I end up in today. He'd rather not experience that if he can help it. ]

Two heads continue to snap, trying to reach Matt, to get revenge...]
HEALBOTS, READY TO BE DEPLOYED
Too late now, there's nothing else to do but to fix it. Minako paws through her backpack and shoves several sticks of ordinary looking gum into her mouth, chewing furiously. The nausea is only just slipping away as she claps her gun-like Evoker to her temple and pulls the trigger.
A white serpentine dragon emerges from thin air behind her, and its Mediarahan instantly starts healing the wounds and aches of her teammates around her.]
I THOUGHT YOU WERE GOING TO DELETE THIS
Thanks, Minako. You can switch out with me when you want.
[ The wall can only hold for so long against thirty monsters. Eventually, it crumbles, but Akira is quick to counter whatever comes for the backline. There's a fire that lights up in his eyes, then the literal black flame that exudes from the corner of his eyes like a mask. Attis appears, casting Thermopylae on their party, before unleashing a sea of flames to engulf the enemies on their side. It stops some, screeching and writhing in pain as they fall to the floor, but still continue to stampede towards them.
Her turn is here. ]
I WAS but then I got distracted and then you tagged me so here we are laughs
Looks like we're gonna be in for the long haul on this. Time to go all out, Akira!
this is our thread now before Minako leaves to the frontline
[ Nice... there’s still a good portion leftover, still trying to pass through the divine flames. Using charge, he takes a moment before he can call Yoshitsune onto the battlefield. In an instant, the monsters closest are brought down to their knees as if they’re being cut by the air itself, all thanks to the swordsman mighty skill and blade. He... may need healing, but it’s not enough to put him down yet.
For now, the backline is clear, but as Akira looks up to check on her, he squints at the horde of chimeras. Oh, boy. ]
Are you going to join their club, Minako?
[ He isn’t too worried about her... She has this. ]
♥
Yup. You coming with?

He sticks close to to the group and folds his arms confidently as he has Koromaru take care of any approaching monsters. Between attacking them directly with his weapon and summoning his own three headed doggy persona, Koromaru is really holding his own in driving off the monsters.]
Very good, Koromaru. [Byakuya remarks proudly. But the little doggy can only do so much - they can use some backup! Or, perhaps someone else might need their help getting out of a jam?]

he takes to the skies first in bursts and streams of compressed air, meeting with the winged creatures— but only to get away from the ground. the taste of iron spills into his mouth when he bites deep into his palm; what follows is a clap of thunder-like noise and a spark of static. bone and flesh builds from nothing around eren, like a rapidly painted picture coming to life. he’s pulled into massive fibers of muscle and disappears into the nape of a gigantic beast just a bit larger than their wave of opponents, a titan, shrieking horribly in challenge like thousands of nails tearing against metal.
the titan steps to the front line to give the team time to group and find themselves, throwing his fist into the skull of one of the monsters enough to throw it back and split its jaws. whether you need help or backup, eren will come to you if you call. he’ll listen if you have a plan, and he’ll appreciate the help given to him as well— these things are a lot to handle for one. ]

Amelia didn't get a chance to roar; one of the manticores leapt on this new threat, closing its wings in a stoop as it dove for the dragon's face. A minotaur hefted its weapon and charged for the dragon's feet, bellowing. She couldn't focus on both distractions, not with her control as tenuous as it was.]
no subject
But a sword could.
The minotaur's axe fell limp and helpless to the earn below, followed by rush of its blood, and then the sickening plop of its head. The body collapsed, and two feet hit the floor ahead of it, turning to face the oncoming hordes with a mad look, wearing a mask of its enemy's essence.-
Rain floods my vision...
Scarlet and flowing with life...
-It was Kasen, sword in hand, steel at eye level, and pointed at the monstrous regiment before him.-
I will soak myself!
Present your necks! -Amelia likely could have survived the attack without him. He knew well enough to respect her strength. But at least this way the fight would be easier for them both.-

It evaded most of her teeth with a cry, snapping out of its dive--but blundered into her shoulder spikes face-first, shrieking still. Amelia was able to grab it with her jaws, and its shrieks stopped with a horrid crunching sound. She tossed her head to spit the corpse away before it leaked too much black blood, teeth bared in a grimace.
But there were more enemies still, plenty more. A hydralike beast was at the forefront, shambling towards them with its many heads bristling. It was taller than Amelia, who fanned her wings out in an aggravated display. Other creatures scurried at the hydra's feet, hoping to escape the dragon's notice until they were close enough.]
no subject
Inellegant creatures... Your existence is an eyesore. Allow me to end your pitiful, ugly lives. -Not much of a battle cry compared to his earlier poem, but hey, it was enough. He dashed into the fray with enough speed to kick up the dust of the arena floor, cutting down several from the first wave in three, almost effortless looking strokes.-
no subject
Focusing on one head at a time would have been one way to proceed--but it wasn't being very cooperative, rising onto its hind legs and slamming its front claws into the ground with enough force to make Amelia stagger, let alone anything smaller. The still living monsters at the hydra's feet fell flat, and if it weren't for her wings the dragon would have followed.
With a growl, Amelia dug her claws into the sand and launched herself forwards, wings fanning to lift her away from the treacherous ground. But the only place to go was straight into the hydra--and she crashed into it in a mess of thrashing wings and teeth, not going fast enough to bowl it over. The hydra was distracted now--but all of its heads were a bit much to deal with now, even for a dragon.]

He'd apologize later, to be sure, but for the moment, she was making an excellent bridge. His footfalls were incredibly light, even for a man his size, and he lept once he was at her shoulders, diving blade first into the mass of gnashing heads.
Plenty of necks to cut.-
