TEAM FOUR EVENT LOG
READY: START. Roster: Noah Isaacs + Gunther Schwarz, Gintaro Suzukaze + Elda Marker, Dave Strider + Byakuya Kirigiri, Shouto Todoroki + Akira Kurusu, Eren Jaeger + Yusuke Kitagawa, Soleil Beaufort + Vera Weisz, Alessandro Vinsmoke + Yu Narukami, Cleo Ritter + Minako Arisato, Penelope Raban + Olive Freya Yun, Orihime Inoue + Matthew Murdock, Ryouta Ono + Baren Kaiyou, Prompto Argentum + Keigo Higashino, Zaveid Taleb + Ragna Edgson, Amelia Wagner + Kasen Kaneda On the morning of the fourth at 9am, you'll find yourself gathering at the Recollé Zoo and Aquarium. Many of you will find yourself partnered up and with a name in mind, and awaiting in front of you is a large bus with the Retrospec logo on the hood. A text comes through not long after, Zee's name attached. I'm no Ms. Frazzle, but I think this bus will do the trick. Hope you packed a book or something. Upon boarding the bus you'll find that's it's equipped for a longer road trip. There are snacks, books, video game consoles, and even a few beds and bathrooms. Just as well, seeing how you're going to be traveling north of the city, traveling through the woods for about seven hours. As you travel, the sky begins to change colors and the temperature drops toward the end of your journey. Outside the window you'll see a mountain range and snow on the ground, and stars streak across the sky as you enter the beautiful region of Magatus. ![]() Permanently semi-dark with beautiful colors streaking across the sky, Magatus is filled with rivers, grass, coniferous trees and snow-capped mountains. The temperature is quite frigid, so travelers will need to bundle up! The region known as Magatus is fairly open and while there may not a huge population like Recollé, there are small clusters of buildings and homes that characters can find by exploring this region. There is roughly 1,500 square miles to cover in the area claiming to be Magatus and some parts of this region may experiences changes in weather including heavy snow, ice, and blackouts. Most of the towns are quaint and friendly though most people appear to mind their own business. If spoken to, they will explain that they’ve been enjoying their time alone and away from the hustle and bustle of city life, though it may be a little hard to know if this is actually true. Some of the younger ones will say they’ve lived here their whole life, but most will shy away from the topic of where they came from. Shops that can be found seem to range in the realm of basic general stores, hardware stores, mini foodmarts, and weaponry. The Magatus people truly live a simple life. The true nature of this region doesn’t seem to come out until nightfall, however. As the light fades and the sky darkens, the colors brighten above and the sound of wolves begin howling nonstop. Depending, you may even hear the sound of snarling and growling, quick footsteps crunching through fresh snow and irritated barking. The townspeople know better than to stay out at night when the wolves run and the shadows dance, and they would advise that anyone from out of town take cover. Too bad they won’t invite you in. You’re on your own out in the wilderness. This is the Team Four Event Log! You are free to toplevel and thread as you choose on this log, but only team members may utilize this log.
Remember, your activity to qualify for your two free memories and one item is supplying at least 30 comments spread over the three objectives per group (minimum of 5 comments per objective!) with at least three members of your groups. You will not be eligible if you do not participate in all three objectives somehow, and you will not be eligible if you only stick with your preferred partner! People who are paired with partners will experience some of the following: -Telepathic connections, but only the thoughts you don’t want your partner to actually hear. You can also use this to influence your partner’s thoughts. -Color fades when you’re not cooperating, it brightens when you are. -Cause and effect. If something happens to your partner, you feel it (i.e. if your partner trips somewhere, you’ll feel the effects.) -Timers. You and your partner will have a countdown embedded somewhere (hand, foot, chest, whatever) and if you don’t complete your missions and see each other before the timer runs out, consequences occur. These are not required and you may play with these as little or as much as you want! Important links to mod toplevels are: Mod Questions, Participation Reporting, NPC questions. Please be aware you are responsible for reporting your own participation & objective completion efforts with links. You must ICly tap into the log within the first 48 hours, or you will be removed from your team. If your activity is low per objective, the moderators may reach out to you about reassignment as well. The schedule for Team Four is as follows: Feb 3rd: Objective 1 posted (9PM EST) | Threading for Travel to Location | Threading for Objective OneObjectives will be given in mod toplevels to this post with instructions; please check the log currently for Objective 1 to see how this will work. |

[ keigo had been left holding the last bit of liquid in that vial, watching with much trepidation as the other two in his party decided to defy the laws of nature and waltz right through the inferno before them. unlike his partners in this mission, keigo held a great deal of self-preservation instinct, to the point of being a bit cowardly. part of him was wondering if they actually made it across at all, and if the voices and sounds he was hearing were just some kind of illusion made by a creature waiting behind the flames. something to lure him in to his doom, so to speak.
his lips thinned into a tight line, keigo continued to listen to their conversation, effectively stalling out until he decided to bite that proverbial bullet and down whatever was left in the vial akira had left him with. ]
O-okay, okay. I'm comin'...
[ he was nervous. that fire felt real, alright. pocketing the empty container, keigo took a deep breath, closed his eyes and...
...practically sprinted to the other side. ]
HYAAAA!!
[ and he emerged with his arms crossed over his face, like he was a firefighter escaping a burning building. elegant. graceful. obnoxious. ]

But then he laughs a bit. It's strange. This trip has been stressful in a different way from August, yet a lot more comical. Is that a blessing? ]
Welcome to the underworld.
[ Back to breaking into this chest. It takes another half minute before it clicks open. The stones glisten in their respective color, likewise does Akira's eyes. Beaming, he feels the thrill of breaking into a chest, stealing treasure... ]
It doesn't look like there's anything else here.
no subject
Looks like you are an expert...
[Eh, as long as it works out in their favor, who cares about the details?]
Chill, I'll keep an eye out for any unwanted guests.
[The only guest they do get is not only not unwanted, but also doesn't bother making his presence secret — in fact, he makes such grand entrance Ragna extends his arm to stop Keigo before he blindly charges into Akira and the treasure chest, giving him a silent, judging look. Does he really need to be so overdramatic?
Pot, meet kettle.Once their certified burglar finishes with the chest, Ragna tosses a glance over his shoulder at its contents, though he doesn't look too excited about what he sees.]
This place sure is crazy 'bout its colors, huh? Maybe we can use 'em elsewhere.
no subject
I'm good with my hands. [ Easy. Nailed it. ] Would it be too wild to think these stones will help us with the other temples?
[ He's betting on that, but he's hesitant to pick up the stones... Nothing happens for too long in his opinion, making him feel antsy and twirling his tools. Don't mind that he stows them away into his bag with the most fretful yet meticulous hand. They seem to be safe with him for now. ]
Maybe we need a breathing exercise. In. [ Let him dramatically breathe in, then out as he leads them out of the red temple. ] Out.
[ You can learn something from this, Keigo. ]
no subject
with the treasure chest open and the gems out in the open, keigo wasn't short on further dramatics, either. ]
Wah... you don't think they're cursed, do you?
[ breathing exercises won't help them if they're dead. ]
But they're all different colors, so I guess they go to different colored temples?
no subject
Ragna doesn't appreciate any talk about curses, because that's only one step away from haunting and we don't wanna go down that way, now do we?]
If they are then that's on him, no?
[Which would be a shame because Akira is pretty useful to have around. With that, Ragna follows him back to the front of the red temple, glancing around for the remaining colored buildings.]
Seems that way. Which one's next?
no subject
[ He checks his bag again to see which colors are there: gray, green, blue, purple, orange, dark green, dark blue, and yellow. When they exit the temple, they can see the rest from where they are at different distances, some even merely a spec. ]
Gray if we're going to go in order.
[ With a sigh, he really misses riding around in a cat bus. Time to trek through. ]
no subject
[ keigo opted not to chime into that, given that he, too, was a magnet for bad luck... he just offered a rather stressed sound before following them back outside. ]
Maa, well, let's get started then, yeah?
[ certainly it wouldn't take that long to go and place everything in the right spots, right? so, off they go?!
montage time?! ]
no subject
Finally, they made it to the last temple. It stands as magnanimous and has a holder for the stone as the rest, casting a large shadow of their way. Once it’s slotted in, the gates open to show a gem large and lustrous. With a paw print engraved in it, there can only be one conclusion. This is what they’re after. ]
This has been easier than I thought.
[ Which is a shame to Akira since he was hoping for a battle of some sort, even against the small fry. With a sigh, he can say he’s slightly relieved for his teammates, though. His eyes sparkle to match the gem, thinking about how they should snatch it—the stone should have disabled all the traps and monsters, leaving them with the opportunity to do something grand and superfluous. What to do, what to do?
But then there is the sound of flapping wings, a shrill shriek, and oh. The gem is in the clutches of a harpy. ]
no subject
No, it's been longer than I thought! If the thing we've been looking for was here all along, then why the hell did they send us on this pointless side quest?!
[Before he can complain some more about it, they're joined by their Final Boss™ and it quickly becomes clear the gems they've been using to bypass most of the dangers will be useless here.]
... Should've figured there's a catch.
no subject
[ keigo was probably the one who had the most ""fun"" out of the three. walking around, enjoying the scenery, waving at miscellaneous spirits? not fighting? no real danger? yeah, he'd take it. there was no shame, as far as he was concerned, in taking the easy route when it was available. the faster they completed the mission, the better, right?
of course, all good things had to come to an end. ]
What the...
[ the shrill shriek had keigo jolting to attention, instinctively jumping behind his companions. sure, he could be brave but... why be brave when there wasn't a reason to be yet? ]
Holy shit! Are you kiddin' me?!
[ even still, keigo's hand drifted down to the seemingly empty scabbard on his hip, fingertips brushing the hilt anxiously. ]
Okay, um. So... [ quick, think like an RPG. ] ...anyone have an AOE?
no subject
On it.
[ The harpy leaves its gem to approach the three, talons bared and murderous intent high, but Akira is quick to dash off before a gun appears in his hand. Landing a couple of shots, the harpy screeches in pain as she beats her wings, changing her attention to him instead. ]
Try to distract it for a bit. We might be able to steal the gem and ollie out.
no subject
Gotcha!
[That can do. No point in being stealthy now, after all.]
HEY, YOU BIG PIECE OF SHIT!!
[You'd think a harpy couldn't care less about name-calling, but if nothing else, the shout does distract her from Akira and convinces her to pursue Ragna for the time being. She flies over to where Ragna's standing, diving in with her talons ready to tear him to sheds, though he's prepared for that, so he jumps to the side, avoiding the attack with relative ease.]
no subject
[ it was times like these that made keigo realize he was probably not suited for combat. watching ragna jump right into the fray had him on edge, clearly worried about him getting injured, but the same went for akira, too. basically: why's it gotta be this way.
but, keigo couldn't just let them run the risk of hurting themselves. with a deep breath, he flanked our lovely lady, but rather than try to run at her with the sword, keigo instead opted to pick up a sizeable rock and just chuck it at her.
playing baseball in highschool had its perks. maybe if she couldn't pick a person to focus on, it'd make stealing the gem easier?! ]
no subject
Oh, this isn't good. He prepares by casting Heat Riser on himself, then the rest of his team, boosting all their stats for a short period of time. The wear is getting to him, but as long as his blood keeps pumping, his mind will stay sharp. ]
Careful, I think she's going to—
[ While bullets are painful, having a rock thrown at her is inexcusable— she swoops down straight at Keigo like he's a rodent. He's way too far to do anything, but he continues to shoot at her with his gun. It does damage, but doesn't stop her attack. ]
no subject
[ whatever sort of spell akira cast on keigo was excellent foresight on his end, because without it, keigo might have experienced a far worse fate for his actions. keigo was already fairly quick on his feet, his reaction times heightened farther than what could be considered "normal," so as she swooped down, keigo swerved to one side—
—but her eyes were faster. as keigo rose the sword up to slash downward at their harpy friend, her claws tore directly at his chest, the force of her descent knocking him backwards onto the ground. ]
Hgkk—!!
[ the impact was enough to knock the wind out of his lungs, the sword leaving his hands and seemingly disappearing into thin air. in reality, it had skittered across the ground, out of his reach, as the harpy dug her claws in, tearing clothing and flesh as she loomed over his prone form. ]
G-get the—!!
[ the gem. he didn't want his reckless behavior to go to waste, after all. ]
no subject
At first, Akira is careful with his movements before he gets himself into a rhythm as he engages the harpy again. His movements start getting flashier, riskier, but are keeping her at bay. It's no problem. He actually likes it. The harpy, on the other hand, doesn't like playing this game.
She prepares her deafening screech—unsure of what it's going to do, he summons Satanael to his aid only to be stunned by the booming voice. Disoriented, he leaves himself vulnerable to take sharp talons across his chest and towards his shoulder. It's strange. It doesn't hurt, but there's a sear so hot his mind goes blank, and it lets the harpy smack him with her tail. Akira is sent flying to hit the wall, almost creating a crater in its brittle structure. He isn't even sure what happened, but it's warm...
This better be enough time for the other two to get situated and plan an ambush. The harpy keeps her attention at Akira, slowly making her way there with slow beats of her wings. ]
no subject
Which is why instead of considering other, more sane options, he catches the harpy's tail and pulls it. Of course, he doesn't have the strength to pull her down, but the shock of getting grabbed from behind seems to lessen her grip on the gem, which falls to the floor with a clink. From there, Ragna kicks it across the floor in... Keigo's general direction? Hopefully?]
You take care of that!
[He's not entirely sure if Keigo's in any shape to take care of himself, let alone their little treasure, but he'll have to deal for the time being. Otherwise Ragna will personally come over to finish him off.
Unfortunately, he doesn't get to threaten him with that properly, since the monster's attention (and anger) is turned to him now. While Akira can enjoy a short break from this doubtful honor, the harpy yanks her tail free and whips Ragna with it, sending him rolling across the floor himself.]
no subject
[ once the harpy's claws exited from his flesh with that sickening squelch, keigo raggedly sucked in a sharp breath, immediately turning onto his side so that he could get his ass back up. he needed that sword... he didn't have spells or any other kind of manner of defense at his disposal. but more importantly than his own safety was seeing akira crumpled to the ground like a ragdoll. a cold chill raked its claws into keigo, his eyes wide as he stared for what felt like hours. in reality, it was only a handful of seconds before he heard ragna shout to him, the gem skipping across the ground his way.
adrenaline powered keigo through what would have normally been enough to send his body into shock. he scrambled and snatched the gem, warm blood trickling and dripping everywhere as he shoved it into his coat pocket. that secured, he turned back and snatched the zanpakutou, its form reappearing upon contact with his touch, visible to his partners once more. ]
Shit...
[ well, he could just stand there and wait for ragna to get his ass back up off the ground or he could do something. against his better judgment, keigo started in towards that harpy, eyes critical of her position as he advanced. holding the sword tightly, keigo graduated from a shaky pace to a purposed run, sword back until he was close enough to get a hit in.
with a yell of anger, keigo heaved forward and impaled the sword into the harpy's leg, falling backward as her wing swept outward and clocked him against the face.
it seemed like it would have been a superficial wound, given that it had just sunk into her leg, but for whatever reason, the harpy started to move in uneven arcs, screeching in pain. if she was walking, she certainly would have been stumbling. so... the aerial equivalent of that?
from his spot on the ground, keigo brought himself up to his elbows, watching in confusion. well, he could ask questions about that later. ]
O-one of you... finish it off!
no subject
The demon lord comes with the crackle of a black-blue flame, regal and ready. The rifle that rested on Satanael’s shoulder once is pointed at the harpy. With what’s left of his energy, he invests it into this single skill. It happens fast... A flash of white light and a booming sound, leaving not even a feather in sight when it fades. The Persona is also gone, as if none of that happened. As he lets out a sigh, Akira walks forward from his wall bed, lugging himself over to his teammates. ]
We’re alive...! [ Haha. ] Let’s head back.
no subject
You've got the gem? Hold onto it.
[Without so much as bothering to ask for his opinion or permission, Ragna picks him up, apparently deciding it'll be faster to just princess-carry him out of here than wait until he can move properly.
Sorry, Keigo.]
You're bleeding too. You sure you can walk?
[Ragna directs his question at Akira. He's not exactly happy to offer help (yuck), but he probably could give him a piggyback ride if necessary...]
no subject
[ once the harpy essentially disintegrated, keigo let out a sigh of relief, flopping back onto the ground for a moment. he was... so tired. he barely had the energy to sheathe the sword, but he managed. the adrenaline would wear off eventually, but for now, the pain wasn't really registering. as ragna approached, keigo flashed him a lopsided grin, nodding shallowly. yep, he got the gem...
...only for that grin to fade immediately when ragna lifted him off the ground and into his arms. ]
H-HEY!! What're you doin'?!
[ for as quickly as the strength was ebbing away, he certainly had enough left to waste on yelling. but thankfully, that was the extent of it; exerting that shout tensed his muscles in ways that he didn't anticipate, causing him to wince. ]
Augh, shit... That thing really got me.
[ he didn't really want to look at how bad it was... but suffice to say, blood was flowing and he was getting dizzier by the second. ]
