TEAM FOUR EVENT LOG
READY: START. Roster: Noah Isaacs + Gunther Schwarz, Gintaro Suzukaze + Elda Marker, Dave Strider + Byakuya Kirigiri, Shouto Todoroki + Akira Kurusu, Eren Jaeger + Yusuke Kitagawa, Soleil Beaufort + Vera Weisz, Alessandro Vinsmoke + Yu Narukami, Cleo Ritter + Minako Arisato, Penelope Raban + Olive Freya Yun, Orihime Inoue + Matthew Murdock, Ryouta Ono + Baren Kaiyou, Prompto Argentum + Keigo Higashino, Zaveid Taleb + Ragna Edgson, Amelia Wagner + Kasen Kaneda On the morning of the fourth at 9am, you'll find yourself gathering at the Recollé Zoo and Aquarium. Many of you will find yourself partnered up and with a name in mind, and awaiting in front of you is a large bus with the Retrospec logo on the hood. A text comes through not long after, Zee's name attached. I'm no Ms. Frazzle, but I think this bus will do the trick. Hope you packed a book or something. Upon boarding the bus you'll find that's it's equipped for a longer road trip. There are snacks, books, video game consoles, and even a few beds and bathrooms. Just as well, seeing how you're going to be traveling north of the city, traveling through the woods for about seven hours. As you travel, the sky begins to change colors and the temperature drops toward the end of your journey. Outside the window you'll see a mountain range and snow on the ground, and stars streak across the sky as you enter the beautiful region of Magatus. ![]() Permanently semi-dark with beautiful colors streaking across the sky, Magatus is filled with rivers, grass, coniferous trees and snow-capped mountains. The temperature is quite frigid, so travelers will need to bundle up! The region known as Magatus is fairly open and while there may not a huge population like Recollé, there are small clusters of buildings and homes that characters can find by exploring this region. There is roughly 1,500 square miles to cover in the area claiming to be Magatus and some parts of this region may experiences changes in weather including heavy snow, ice, and blackouts. Most of the towns are quaint and friendly though most people appear to mind their own business. If spoken to, they will explain that they’ve been enjoying their time alone and away from the hustle and bustle of city life, though it may be a little hard to know if this is actually true. Some of the younger ones will say they’ve lived here their whole life, but most will shy away from the topic of where they came from. Shops that can be found seem to range in the realm of basic general stores, hardware stores, mini foodmarts, and weaponry. The Magatus people truly live a simple life. The true nature of this region doesn’t seem to come out until nightfall, however. As the light fades and the sky darkens, the colors brighten above and the sound of wolves begin howling nonstop. Depending, you may even hear the sound of snarling and growling, quick footsteps crunching through fresh snow and irritated barking. The townspeople know better than to stay out at night when the wolves run and the shadows dance, and they would advise that anyone from out of town take cover. Too bad they won’t invite you in. You’re on your own out in the wilderness. This is the Team Four Event Log! You are free to toplevel and thread as you choose on this log, but only team members may utilize this log.
Remember, your activity to qualify for your two free memories and one item is supplying at least 30 comments spread over the three objectives per group (minimum of 5 comments per objective!) with at least three members of your groups. You will not be eligible if you do not participate in all three objectives somehow, and you will not be eligible if you only stick with your preferred partner! People who are paired with partners will experience some of the following: -Telepathic connections, but only the thoughts you don’t want your partner to actually hear. You can also use this to influence your partner’s thoughts. -Color fades when you’re not cooperating, it brightens when you are. -Cause and effect. If something happens to your partner, you feel it (i.e. if your partner trips somewhere, you’ll feel the effects.) -Timers. You and your partner will have a countdown embedded somewhere (hand, foot, chest, whatever) and if you don’t complete your missions and see each other before the timer runs out, consequences occur. These are not required and you may play with these as little or as much as you want! Important links to mod toplevels are: Mod Questions, Participation Reporting, NPC questions. Please be aware you are responsible for reporting your own participation & objective completion efforts with links. You must ICly tap into the log within the first 48 hours, or you will be removed from your team. If your activity is low per objective, the moderators may reach out to you about reassignment as well. The schedule for Team Four is as follows: Feb 3rd: Objective 1 posted (9PM EST) | Threading for Travel to Location | Threading for Objective OneObjectives will be given in mod toplevels to this post with instructions; please check the log currently for Objective 1 to see how this will work. |
KISSY FACES
In the distance, now no longer hidden by such an intense source of hot air and distortion, he catches sight of the entrance to the looming tower and large figures prowling around in front of what looks like a door. Before he can really ascertain what they are, or how much of a threat they could be, there's a flash and distortion around his body and his outfit shifts from the more casual clothing he'd been wearing to something a little more... dramatic.
There's a moment where he pauses, twisting around to catch sight of the tail attached to his belt, and twisting his wrists around to study the gloves on his hands. And then he reaches up and tugs the mask off his face because while he might run cool, it's far too warm for a mask. ]
We should be careful. I don't think those creatures are friendly.
[ He still doesn't have complete control over this odd summoning method, but he knows enough to guess that it has something to do with nearby danger, or threats - to himself, or that he himself represents.
...
...
... and then there's another clatter, loud enough to Yusuke to jump a little in surprise, as an assault rifle pops out of midair and clatters to the ground. Yusuke, helpfully, just stares at it. Good hustle, guys. ]
no subject
What DOES surprise him is the ... assault ... rifle??? Since Yusuke isn't picking it up, he will, handling it the same way he might a wounded animal, like he doesn't know what to do with the thing. It ... looks ... real?? But it feels like plastic. Is ... is this actually a real gun, or ... ]
... do you know how to use this?
no subject
No. It was one of my random Retrospec gifts recently, and I've just ignored it since then.
[ After a moment he holds out his hand. ]
If you're uncomfortable holding it, I will do so. It's only fair, given that it is my property, willingly or not.
no subject
He also finally remembers to dispel Mada, who he'd sort of forgotten about in all the excitement. ]
... let's hope we can figure it out, because we're going to need everything we can use. [ Stares ahead at the tower and the creatures that lurk beneath. ]
1/2
no subject
No?
... Just gonna leave Sanji standing here then. Right okay, what the fuck does he care. Goddamn Personas. Turning his head away with his fingers pressed against the bridge of his nose, Sanji refuses to look in any angle that's their general direction.
Fuckin heat, it's gone to his brain.]
So what's the shitty plan then? Are we fighting or looking for a way to sneak in?
no subject
Yusuke takes the rifle back and... well. It sure seems like it’s got more weight to it when he takes hold of it. But he also looks like he has no idea what to do with it either, so that’s cool. ]
Sneaking in might be preferable. The longer we go unnoticed the easier it’ll be to get things done.
And we’ll have the element of surprise, in theory.
[ They’ll never see them comINNNNNNNNG ]
no subject
[ He'll walk ahead on the path, shielding his eyes as he peers at the tower, looking it over from top to bottom. After a moment or two he'll stop, and beckon the other two to join him. ]
Look.
[ He'll point. High up in the tower's face is an opening -- a window. ]
no subject
And after staring at the window for a few seconds:]
So how are you two shitheads getting up there?
no subject
Climbing up seems dangerous. I wonder if there are any ledges...
[ hang up he’s got to keep an eagle eye out rn ]
no subject
[ He cracks the knuckles of one hand, tilting his head slightly as he considers the tower. ]
... we'll just have to do it quickly enough to avoid the trouble at the bottom.
no subject
[Whether he hitches a ride on Yu's Persona or just scales the thing by himself, y'know what? Sanji doesn't care, and rolls his shoulders into a shrug.
My oh my, whatever happened to that plan of keeping the pair from using up their spare energy?]One at a time, or...?
no subject
[ Kohryu will appear over their heads. The monsters at the foot of the tower stir and get to their feet, the sound of their growls like the low groaning tumble of stone just before a rock slide.
Kohryu bows his massive head, and Yu will hop up. Just as blasé: ]
I'll see you two up there.
[ #hahabye #missme #suffer #nerds #getaroom ]
no subject
... Sanji is fuckin impressed. Well done, partner, he's proud of you.
However that does leave Sanji tensing when he picks up the telltale signs of beasts beginning to prowl, meaning Yusuke isn't given the courtesy of refusal this time. He turns to the other, not even apologetic so much as flabbergasted that this is their life, and just--
hooks an arm around Yusuke's waist
hauls him up over his shoulder like he's a bag of groceries]
Bitch at me later.
[and using a combination of leg strength and pure shonen bullshit, quite literally lunges up the tower wall, using a series of jumps and runs to fight off the gravity that pulls at their bodies.
Sanji's huffing by the time they reach the window, slipped through it and hopefully come to land wherever their third member is, but only because he's still reeling from Yu's betrayal. Once he sets Yusuke down on his feet:]
You weigh less than the groceries Baren brings me.
no subject
Yusuke’s attention is caught by the growling and shifting of the monsters in the background, enough that he’s only aware of what Sanji is about to do when there’s an arm around his waist and he’s being flung over his shoulder with a surprised sound like some kind of ragdoll. His hands scrabble to find some kind of balance, and end up awkwardly gripping on to Sanji’s shoulder and what the heck this is apparently his life now. Just chillin’ while some guy tells gravity and the laws of physics to go fuck themselves.
Sure, why not.
Mercifully, he doesn’t wobble when set back on the ground - he finds his footing rather quickly... and then huffs. Rude. ]
I will not enquire about how many groceries you get through, if that’s the case. [ He’s slim but not that silm. Probably. ]
no subject
Well, maybe not all the way. He got shut up pretty fast by the state of things within. By the time Yusuke and Sanji drop in
hahahahahahaYu has Mada out again, the Persona doing its best to clear away some of the coals so Yusuke (and Sanji, if he needs it, not that he'd ever admit it if he did) has a place to stand. He's trying to hush the other two as they speak, attempting to point out the brightly-colored gem that sits nestled among the other coals, but once again things happen too quickly. A bunch of demonic ass fire gophers pop up and immediately start spitting fire. ]
Scatter!
[ Yu will dodge, wishing he had his sword; but Mada will stay by Yusuke, to shield him if needed. ]
no subject
While he's sure that he's going to be fine with the boots that are part of his thieving outfit - thicker soles than the shoes he was wearing before. And unlike Yu, he does have a sword attached to his, which he rests a hand on ready to draw when needed. ]
Where did the gem go? [ It was there, but in the scuffle it seems to have vanished from where it was lying within easy grabbing distance before. ]
no subject
Sanji doesn't dodge.
A fireball collides solidly with his outstretched leg, and there's a grit of teeth and then fire when all of Sanji catches alight, right before he kicks the attack back at its master. That shitty little gremlin doesn't have time to dodge.
It's not enough to kill it, but the creature squeals from the hit, flung back into a nearby wall and... and melting into it, much like the other creatures have done already. Because that's fair.]
So. [Straightening his stance] Fire works on 'em.
[That doesn't answer Yusuke's question, however, but it's soon a moot point when one of the gophers marks its reappearance in the wall by smiling at the group, revealing the jewel between its teeth.]
scoots on in here real quick
[ ok sanji you, uh. you do you.
Still, that's interesting to note. If fire has a good effect on them, then it's unlikely ice would do much - if what he remembers from his memories of exploring Madarame's palace remain accurate here.
He's considering whether or not to just stick to his blade or attempt the wildly inadvisable plan of testing his new rifle in this tower, right now in the middle of all this insanity, and see if he can take potshots at the gophers from here. Hm.
But before he can decide, the gopher now carrying the jewel is making a reappearance, and he ends up acting on instinct instead. They've been vanishing into the wall like it was nothing, and somehow that jewel seems significant. It's only thing in this room that doesn't fit the fire and brimstone aesthetic, after all. So there's a flash, and Goemon shimmers above him, before moving out and swiping the giant pipe in his hands at the gopher with enough force to send it cracking back into the wall with an almost painful sounding crunch. ]
no subject
[ Once the gopher slams into the wall, it ... well, for a moment it's stunned. But it quickly melts back into the wall, seemingly gone again, if likely injured at least a little.
Yu finds himself focusing on the other gophers for now, trying to slow them down or stun them. It's hard to count how many are even attacking them, the way they keep disappearing into the walls. The air roars with fire as Yu unleashes a few Agidyne spells courtesy of Mada.
It's not until one of his Agidyne spells actually cuts through a gopher that things change. The whole tower shakes and groans, sending Yu briefly stumbling. ]
What the?!
[ And then -- there's the gopher with the jewel, its head and side a cool dark black. ]
no subject
What stays his instincts is that damned gopher showing up again, still alive but now easily distinguishable from the rest.]
Oi! Focus on that one. [mindful of the fireballs still lobbed in their direction, Sanji kicks another back at their enemies.]
Don't kill any of the other bastards if you can help it!
no subject
Are they tied to the tower...?
[ He side steps one of the other gophers, cracking one aside with a little less force than Goemon is able of and scanning the others for the one from before. That one needs something more than a crack on it's back to differentiate it... so when he's close enough, he flips out the blade at his side and darts forwards, slashing it across the front of the gopher. It moves back before he can really carve a slice out of it, but it should be enough to nick the front of it notably. ]
There...!
no subject
[ The gopher with the jewel is back. Thanks to Yusuke's setup, now they'll be able to knock it down much more easily. The gopher sprints away, aiming to leap back into the wall. ]
No you don't!
[ Yu unleashes another Agidyne. With a screech the gopher is flung into one of its companions, and they both go flying to land in a tangle on the floor. ]
no subject
But he succeeds, grabbing the stone from the beast's teeth (jesus it's warm). Damn right he's still suspicious of how smoothly everything has gone, but he's not gonna complain about it either, already shooting a glance over his shoulder]
Oi, got it--!!
[The triumph in his voice is cut a short when Sanji descends into cursing, as turns out the gophers aren't keen on having their precious stone taken from them. He has to duck and dodge when the fireballs increase in number, causing the air to ripple with heat waves.]
no subject
Summoning Goemon once more is instinctive, flinging up a wall of ice between the fireballs and the three of them. It won't last, he knows that, but it gives them a brief reprieve. Even if, with the intensity of that heat, it will likely only be brief. ]
