[ Ever since Souji got a random trumpet in the mail from Retrospec, he's been jamming out on it on a semi-regular basis. He already knows how to play a little bit of the trumpet so it was easy enough to pick it up, but surprisingly, when he actually tried, it turned out that he knew... a lot more than he originally thought? Chalk it up to some weird 'wake up with some mysterious power thanks retrospec' thing again, he supposes, but hey, he's not complaining. You know why? ]

[ It's 11am and this kid is jamming out this song for any poor soul to hear. It's terrible. Quick, steal his trumpet right now before it continues. ]

[Kurt's been walking through the park and looking over his bingo sheet on his iphone while trying to plan which ones to try next. But he can't focus over the sound of that live music. Wait... that music sounds familiar...

As it clicks, Kurt's eyes widen in betrayal. He soon spots the offending trumpeter and approaches him.]

Really?! Why, I have to ask you... why?!

[ Souji is determined to complete his bingo sheet no matter what. Not because Retrospec told him to, but because he wants to know if he would get a QR code for completing everything (or at least getting a few bingos) and to gain more of his "memories". The last ones haven't been... great, but there's no point from running away from the truth. ]

[ ... even if it means that he has to write an ode to Janet and mean it. ]

[ Luckily, Souji is a creative type so it doesn't take him long to make a totally original and definitely not a cut-and-paste Christmas ode for Janet. The only thing to do now is to share it so he takes it to the streets to see if he can find a poor soul to share it with when... ]

[ Senpaiiiiiii. Here comes your kohai from behind. He waves as he approaches. ]

[ The feared centre square... the one that sends shivers down everyone's spines. The one that is the most difficult to complete and for Souji's, it is to "make a meal out of everything your fridge and share it with someone. And we mean EVERYTHING." And because this is Souji, this means that while there might be some normal ingredients like some side dishes and fruits, it also means all the rotten shit that he kept in there for the sole purpose of eating "just because". ]

[ May God have mercy on whoever eats this. ]

[ Souji isn't cruel enough to just hand this out to whoever without a proper warning, though. No, he's much nicer than that. Instead, he just finds a bench in Recolle Square, puts down the giant pot of horrors beside him, and has a sign taped to it that reads "eat if you dare - will increase courage but may decrease life". ]

[Indeed, the centre square is a tricky one; Ragna has yet to decide whether he wants to bother with the whole bingo thing business, let alone that one square. After all, what kind of hallucination-slash-supposedly-memory could be worth such humiliation? None, he believes.

But there are others who seem to think differently. Ones who will stop at nothing to complete the bingo, and that means the centre square is fair game, too. And as luck would have it, today is the day Ragna has come across one such person.

Souji "Professional Shit-Eater" Narukami.

When Ragna notices him, he almost wants to approach him and ask why he's not playing a hobo, but then he's met with a horrible stench that is enough to make him scowl. At first, he assumes it's a part of the hobo role, but he quickly realizes it comes from the pot sitting next to him. He should... probably ignore it, but curiosity gets the better of him and against his better judgment, he peeks inside.

He's pretty sure he's just caught a glimpse of hell itself.

[ It's a nice day. A beautiful and peaceful summer day. There's nothing to suggest that today will be strange or weird or off. No, absolutely not, and that's why when Souji approaches Yu in their dorm, he's probably here to ask for something sane and reasonable. ]

[ Finding a gift for the guy who runs the app from hell and is most likely responsible for all the weird shit happening in Recolle is... difficult. Granted, Jim has some good tastes in prank items since Souji can agree with some of the things on his gift registry, but on the other hand, it's like ugh. ]

[ So, Souji is just in Towers to see if he can find any of the things on Jim's registry when he spots that crazy Velvet Room assistant (what a coincidence, huh?). ]

[ Elizabeth can't say she's been to many weddings, or even had to buy gifts for them? So she can't judge whether or not this is like, a legitimately good gift registry or not. ...but some of these things are absolutely ridiculous and she's sort of looking forward to finding them to send—

[ As much as Souji dislikes the echo flowers after what happened when they first arrived, the Bingo square involving them is pretty cute. Find someone and give them a bouquet of echo flowers that whisper a compliment? Heck yeah, Souji can do that. ]

[ He contacted Keigo earlier in the day to ask if he can meet him at Recolle Square later in the afternoon, saying that he had a little "surprise" for him. Of course, the surprise is the bouquet and Souji even managed to make them all whisper "you're the best in the world", but he'll hide it behind his back for now until Keigo arrives. ]

[ keigo was quickly learning to grow semi-suspicious of souji's little "surprises," especially after finding out the horrific state of his refrigerator. what kind of surprise could he possibly have? the only "surprises" keigo was thinking of were the type that were fuzzy, discolored and possibly growing limbs inside of a takeout box.

but, be it that one sliver of hope that it was something normal or perhaps morbid curiosity, keigo came along to the square as asked of him. really, though, it wasn't that big of a deal; he enjoyed spending time with souji as it was, so even if he presented something strange to him, at least it wouldn't be a wasted day. ]

Oiiii, Souuu—jiiii~ [ came the thickly accented call of a wild keigo as he approached, hand raised in greeting. ] What's this all about, eh? [ though he tried to sound suspicious, really, keigo just looked happy to be there. ]

[ Souji has never flown a kite before because lol what is having a childhood so he had to go and buy a kite at the local mall just for this one bingo square. Of course, he bought a kite that looks like a cat and it looks childish but hey, he thinks it's cute. But now that he's got the shopping part done, he just needs to get the flying the kite part finished. He just doesn't really know... where to start, though. Does he toss it in the air and wait for the breeze to take it? Does he have a running start? ]

[ He was about to google it when he sees Yukiko pass by (hopefully she's not doing anything important). ]

Oh, Yukiko, do you mind lending me a hand?

[Yukiko's just leaving the mall when she spots Souji off fiddling with something, and when he calls out she wanders up to say hi. She'd been picking up something for the apartment, but that's forgotten when she spots the kite. Oh, one of her secret favorite things.]

With a kite? I don't mind at all. What's giving you trouble?

[ Souji might have played the trumpet in the music club but that doesn't mean he doesn't have a decent singing voice. This ballad bingo square is in the bag and singing to a stranger is no trouble at all. Not when Souji just finds a random open window and decides to sing the ballad right outside. He's totally nailing this bingo thing. ]

[ Yeah, he's just going to start right in the middle of that song because this is clearly the best part. ]

[Penelope Raban is...not really the sort of person that's used to random teenagers suddenly bursting into song nearby her but when it actually happens she stops in her tracks and gapes. She'd been halfway through writing a text to Freya when...]

[ Souji and Shin are probably just chilling, maybe at Shin's place, just lounging around on the couch like they usually do. With the arrival of the new bingo game, Souji has been pretty curious as to what other people got on their sheets. He's been going through Shin's by looking at his phone and out of the blue, he just looks up and says: ]

[ There's a look that Shin gave him. A look that he rarely gives Souji, to be honest, considering he's desensitized to Souji's weirdness at this point that he didn't feel the need of pulling out.

[ and once an hour is up, dave will be waiting in the vaguely appointed neighborhood, dressed in black slacks and a red dress shirt with a black tie under a black vest? he went Fancy As Shit.

the Sord... he is holding in his left hand rather ruins the entire ensemble, though. :( ]

[ dang, dave, looking good. souji shows up in just a simple but slick black suit and tie. in addition, he's even wearing his tv glasses that he regained. of course, the lens don't work in the real world and he sees just fine, but they add a nice look to the whole professional look. ]

Hey. [ he lifts up a hand to greet him but then sees the sord like what ] What's with the... sword?

[ he knows that he told dave to bring an item he got from retrospec but why the sord... ]

[ It's been a few weeks since Souji said that he would show Rosalind his powers. He knows that she's probably has been waiting and that he did agree to show her, but he's been so nervous and unsure about it that he hasn't had the courage to do it until now. He's been spending these past weeks training until he felt ready enough to show her. He sent her a text earlier that day and asked her to meet with him at a secluded area near the beach. Yukiko has shown him this spot before and he's been using it as his little training ground as well. ]

[ He waits for the professor to arrive, appearing unusually nervous, his hands gripping and then loosening themselves constantly. ]

[She comes immediately, of course. She's been waiting on tenderhooks for weeks, doing her best not to pester him with incessant questions and texts, and now that's finally paying off.

She comes dressed just as if they were to do this in the lab, with a no-nonsense blouse and pencil skirt on. Not, perhaps, ideal for the environment, but there's no sense in losing your standards just because you're not in a sterile environment.

She's brought a knapsack. There's quite a few things in there, but what she draws out first and foremost is nothing more sinister than a notebook and pen.]

[Shuji doesn't like talking on the phone normally, let alone intentionally talking to a complete stranger... but he's going to destroy this stupid bingo card, and that means doing some things that are uncomfortable. And while he's doing that, he might as well knock out as much as possible at once.

He picks a completely random number, and waits for the other person to answer. Sorry, random other person who might not even be a Retrospec user.]

[ Ahh, an unknown number is calling him, huh? Souji has a sneaking suspicion that this is either a telemarketer or someone trying to fill out their bingo card (as he did the exact same thing earlier this week). So, taking in Akira's example, Souji will just do what he did. ]

[ Souji knows how to juggle two items but three? That's kind of pushing it. How can he even begin to do three them all without dropping everything? It's kind of a mess and of course, he's standing here with these balls in his hands and just helplessly looking at Shouto (whom he probably found on the streets and dragged to the side). ]

You wouldn't happen to know how to juggle three items, do you?

[The thing about Shouto is that as long as he doesn't need to be anywhere, he's very permissive. So it was surprisingly easy to drag Shouto over.]

I've never juggled anything before.

[ It's the weekend and it's time to show that Mako is w r o n g. Souji is dedicated to his jokes and even if he thinks it's a little outrageous to think that the government is behind everything (but also not), he goes through with the bet on seeing if they can leave the city. He's contacted Mako earlier in the day and they're splitting the bill to take an Uber to a nearby city, so it's time to see the moment of truth...! ]

[ ... until their Uber breaks down near the edge of the city and all the construction prevents them from walking. ]

I wonder how long it'll take for a tow truck to arrive...

[well, that was anti-climactic. Who knew that today was just that bad for timing on trying to leave? It's probably just as well, though. He really needed to start putting together his set for his next act. He'd been slacking for too long, and surely he had enough material by now.]

We'd have to ask the driver, but I think he's pretty pissed by now.

[they couldn't have predicted he would blow a tire. Maybe he needed to check his tire pressure.]

[ So, Souji might have murdered Ragna a few days ago but it's water under the bridge, right? Ragna is alive today so that's all that matters... and maybe Souji can cheer him up with a friendly little competition? ]

[Yeah, about that... the incident has certainly left a bad taste in Ragna's mouth, literally and figuratively speaking. But at the same time, the experience has brought back something important ─ something that has really changed his perspective ─ and as such, Ragna is willing to (begrudgingly) say they're even.

Which is not to say he would miss an opportunity for a revenge when one presents itself.]

[He gives him a confident smirk that Souji might remember from back when Ragna insisted on trying Mystery Food X 2.0. But this time will be different. Granted, he's never ridden a chochobo before, but what could possibly be difficult about that? It's just a big chicken. You sit on it and it does the rest. There's not way he could lose this.]

[ Unlike his OU counterpart, Souji has absolutely no fighting experience whatsoever. He knows nothing when it comes to really defending himself and after all the events that happened in Recolle lately, he thought he should fix this. The sparring square on his bingo sheet only pushes him further to look into it and he decides to pick the local karate dojo to see if he can begin. ]

[ He opens the front door and walks in. Hmm, where can he find an instructor or the owner to this place? ]

[ It's neither an instructor nor the owner who comes to answer him, but the owners' daughter, who's helping her parents out for the day. She's dressed in her karate gi, though, so at least she might look kind of official? ]

[ Ever since Souji has been taken yoga for the past few months (it's a long story...), he's been as flexible as an acrobatic circus girl. It's quite impressive and great for his health too! So reenacting the Founders' Fountain pose should be nothing for him, but he couldn't do it alone... he needed someone, and that someone would be the poor sad sack who just passed him at the "right" time. ]

Hey, are you flexible enough to help me recreate the grand poses of our founding leaders?

[ It's been about a week and a half since Souji got back those... memories. They've been harder than his usual ones, actually becoming quite personal for him and they've only been adding on as more evidence of Shin's theory behind the twins. So, of course, the only person he could really talk to about all this was, yes, Shin. ]

[ Souji texted him earlier, asking if it was okay to come over, in the same serious tone he used the last time this happened. Also like last time, he makes sure to bring over a few drinks for Shin and also a special blu-ray set that Shin mentioned last time, both as thank you gifts for hearing him out. So, when he arrives, he solemnly knocks on Shin's front door, waiting to go in and have this conversation all over again. ]

[ The door is opened, leading Souji to be greeted by... Shin wearing a robot's head.

...The door is immediately closed, and then opened again, only this time it's just Shin. Looking slightly sheepish and kind of Concerned at Souji. But either ways he moves out of the way and gestures Souji in. ]

[ After the talk with Shin... Souji has been trying to pull up the courage to go and talk to his brother. They have so many things to discuss and Souji knows that both of them have been dancing around it. He's been keeping secrets from Yu and he knows that Yu has been doing the same to him. After spending a decade apart from each other, wanting nothing more than to be together, they've been actually avoiding each other more often than usual and Souji feels this twisted sense of guilt in his heart whenever he thinks of that. Even if it's only by a few minutes, shouldn't he be the older brother and suck it up so they could talk? Their mother has always been keen on reminding him to be strong and to push forward so shouldn't he do that now? ]

[ Shin has always been a good pillar of strength (more so lately these days) and it's only after Souji's conversation with him that he comes back home to seek out Yu. ]

... Yu?

[ From Souji's tone alone, it's easy enough to tell that something heavy is weighing down on him. ]

Can we talk?

[ Ah.

This isn't the first time Souji has approached him with such a serious look and tone, but Yu thinks it probably won't last.

Yu also thinks he knows why this is happening. His chest is thrumming with new power, power he hasn't even yet had a chance to test, and it makes his whole body feel electric. Strange. Like it isn't entirely his own, anymore. The shared space in his soul has grown, and he really doesn't even know what to make of that. How he should feel about it.

But he does know how he feels about Souji coming to talk to him. Relieved.

Even so, he'll approach this with the seriousness it merits, trying not to let his gratitude that Souji is actually talking to him this time override the gravity of the situation. ]

[ He was in the middle of cooking, though given that he's just started the rice cooker, now is actually a good time for a conversation. He'll turn away from the food and face his brother, concerned but also steady. ]

[ After a pause, he'll simply tap his own chest and tilt his head. Souji will likely understand what he means. ]

[ Sandcastle time! It's time to be at the beach, tan under the sun, and attempt to build a sandcastle as tall as them. The only problem is that Souji is.. 5'11"... so this might be a challenge. ]

I wonder if it'll hold up...

[ All the gray hasn't gotten any less disappointing from the last time Ritsu was here, but there was a job to be done. Ritsu scrolls through his phone's ~Sandcastle Science~ articles, squinting against the sunlight's reflection. ]

It's best to use our bare hands. We'd need a base around... triple your height.

[ He doesn't even look up from that. ]

... How do they judge bingo accuracy?

[ There's a tear in his conscience between honest Lawful methods and just flat-out cheating. ]

[ In Recolle Park, Souji has somehow managed to convince Mako to come out carolling with him to an entire public audience (that being whoever decided to stroll through the park). This should be good. ]

[this was a terrible idea. He glances at him, all too aware that this is basically not his usual MO... But after all he's been through with this weird guy...........]

[ The problem with dating Yu is that you're going to always interact with his great and amazing older brother, Souji, who is much more zanier than Yu. Sorry Yosuke, but this is now your life. You're now stuck with rickrolling your boyfriend with his brother right outside their dorm window. This is what you're going to be doing forever now. ]

C'mon, I'm sure he'll love it.

[ Yosuke likes Souji. Yosuke really likes Souji. Being the most outgoing of the twins, Souji was the one that Yosuke really bonded with first. Strange how that turns out...but he does consider Souji one of his best friends. (Partners, right?)

[ Souji has been doing decently well on his bingo sheet. He's a pretty silly kind of guy so a lot of the things on his list don't really bother him but this one... attacking a stranger like a shark in the pool... now that one is a bit harder. He doesn't want to exactly hurt someone accidentally during this and the consequences of this bingo square is a lot more than purposely calling up a stranger over the phone, but he has to go through with it. If he can gain as many clues as possible through this bingo sheet then he needs to finish it, no matter how difficult it may be. ]

[ So here he is at the local pool, just silently apologising to whoever has the bad luck of crossing his path while he lurks underwater for when someone does pass by, he suddenly jumps out and puts his hands on the other person's shoulders to pull them down into the water with him. He's trying to do this in a way he doesn't have to leap onto a person but there's no real easy way to attack someone like a shark in a pool. Sorry if you get water up your nose, Ami. ]

[Saturday is a hot, hot day, and what better way to beat the heat than by going down and hanging out at the pool? Granted she is... still working on her "dress like a prep" square at this point, so she had to wear a plain black swimsuit instead of the cute one with the skulls... but sometimes, sacrifices must be made.

Anyway this afternoon romp is going great until somebody jumps up out of nowhere and drags her under the water! (It's ridiculously easy to do, she's pretty smol.) Ami doesn't have time to shriek before there's chlorinated water getting all up in her face holes. Understandably, she freaks the fuck out, kicking and flailing her arms in an attempt to get back to the surface (but if she hits her attacker in the process, GOOD).]
