Feel free to PM me or reach me at northpaws if you'd like to do some bingo stuff (that we haven't already planned beforehand) or if you'd like any other threads! This is just a catch-all post for all the logs/threads I might have, without spamming the comm and to keep all of Souji's bingo threads in one post.

[ It's a nice day. A beautiful and peaceful summer day. There's nothing to suggest that today will be strange or weird or off. No, absolutely not, and that's why when Souji approaches Yu in their dorm, he's probably here to ask for something sane and reasonable. ]

Yu, I need you to help me slap myself.

[ ok nvm ]

[ Anyway. Yu puts down the book he was reading and just kind of stares at his brother blankly for an uncomfortably long time.

Finally: ]

Why.

[ And Souji just stares back at Yu with the straightest face ever. ]

Because I broke into Retrospec.

[ As if that answers anything... ]

[covenantal]

[ There's another long, uncomfortable pause.

Then Yu pulls out his phone, looks at it for a moment, puts it away, and stares at Souji again. ]

You want me to help you slap yourself for a bingo square?

[tarotcards]

[ Just a nod. ]

And if you have the same square then wouldn't this technically count for you as well?

[ Isn't he such a thoughtful brother?? ]

I guess it would, [ he says, flatly, before heaving a sigh. There's a sort of uncertain resignation now as he looks up at his twin and says: ]

You know I don't want to do this, right?

[ seriously, slapping souji? that's a lot, even for their usual level of shenanigans. ]

[ A few months from now when the twins have their fight, Yu will regret not slapping the fuck out of Souji when he had the chance right now. ]

I know. You can do it lightly but you don't have to do it at all either.

[ Honestly, he can go to Shin for that too because he is Determined ]

[ look. look. don't tempt him, alright.

Yu will just sigh again and actually stand so he can face his brother. The thing is, he knows if he says no Souji will definitely just ask someone else, so he might as well take the fall for this. At least he can control the power of the slap this way and keep from hurting Souji as much as possible.

Still, there's kind of a complicated look on his face as he props a hand on his hip and stares his brother down. Affection, frustration, exasperation, maybe a few other things in equal measure. ]

Alright. I'll help you. But in exchange, you're making dinner tonight.

[ Tempting is happening and if Yu doesn't slap Souji as hard as he can right now, he's going to regret it. Regret it just as many other choices Yu made in his life. ]

[ Souji does know that he's asking a lot from his brother, but he's one of the only ones that Souji trusts enough for this (asides from Shin). Plus, he doesn't feel comfortable going around to find someone else to slap. Can you just imagine that convo? Walking up to a person and being like "hi, did you break into Retrospec and if so, can I slap you?" It'd be rude at best and would actually get him slapped instead at worst. If Yu also has this square, then it's two birds with one stone, right? It's relly the best thing they can do right now and Souji really wants to fill out his card so he could get as many clues as possible. ]

[ He just stares back at his brother, unmoving, and nods. ]

Sure. Your favourite and I'll even pick up some more origami paper for you tonight.

[ He really does want to make it up to Yu so he's willing to go a little beyond for this. He tries to smile as well, trying to pick up the mood. ]

[ He does have this square. That's the reason he looked at his phone, earlier - to double check, and see that it was indeed on his bingo sheet. Sigh. Still, this feels like an extreme way to go about filling the square, and brings to life some of the concerns he discussed with Karkat. The idea of physical violence being needed for these squares... even if it's "safe" or meant to be "funny," the idea disturbs him, that Retrospec could compel them to hurt each other at all. What if it isn't so innocent, in the future?

But these are concerns to raise later. It seems like Souji understands, at least, and Yu is glad he does. Yu will sigh one last time, but now it's a little more good natured, at least. ]

Alright. That sounds like a deal.

[ Now his expression shifts into consideration, though. He lifts a hand to stroke his chin, and after a moment's thought reaches out to circle fingers around Souji's wrist, taking hold of his twin's hand. ]

... slapping someone with their own hand is a pretty strange idea ...

[ It definitely is concerning, Souji has to admit, but he's been trying to look at the bright side of everything. At least Retrospec isn't forcing them to do any of these activities and if they're offering some clues in exchange for completing them then so be it. ]

... maybe you can just hold my hand and I'll slap my face against it?

[ Would that make it less strange ]

[ Souji uses his free hand to pull out his phone because dictionary.com is very important right now ]

"Slap: to hit someone or something with the palm of one's hand or a flat object".

[ Now looking up from his phone. ]

It doesn't say whether or not the someone can hit themselves against the palm.

[ Keeps staring at him, still holding Souji's wrist. ]

It doesn't say you can hit a palm with a face... I don't want to have to make you slap yourself twice just to make it count. What if we just...

[ ... kinda ...

... lightly ...

... taps Souji's hand against his face? ]

[ ... well, that's kind of cute. Souji just kind of stares before he dramatically moves his head, as if taking a much harder slap than Yu gave. ]

... you've wounded me, sire!

never!! give in, twin!! omg im trying to type around cora and its not working out

[ Ah.

Yu immediately frowns, flustered and crooked, flushing a little in embarrassment. ]

Shut up.

[ Reaches for his twin's other hand, and uses that to tap the other side of Souji's face. With a little more strength, this time, but honestly, it's still not very much. ]

gdi i... gave in first........... and i hope cora prevents you from typing forever

[ That gets Souji to break character and laugh a bit. ]

I thought you were against slapping me.

[covenantal]

Not if you keep this up. [ SUPER FLATLY. But Souji can probably tell that by now he's trying not to smile. ]

... one more try?

[ The real one. They gotta make it count, so... ]

Sure. Hit with me your best shot.

[ BRING IT ON souji is so ready ]

[ A DEEP BREATH in and out.

This time, he actually does kind of smack his twin with his own hand. It's still not hard, but this time the contact actually makes a sound. It's a slap, even if it's the weakest possible slap.

At which point he'll drop Souji's hand like it's burned him, red in the face from discomfort and uncertainty. ]

There.

[tarotcards]

[ The slap doesn't hurt him but it does make him wince at the sound and at his brother's reaction. ]

There.

[ He repeats and smiles, trying to ease his brother's discomfort. ]

How's your bingo sheet looking now?

[covenantal]

[ Souji's smile does actually help ease the tension from his shoulders. Yu will echo that smile back, fainter but just as genuine.

In response to the question, he'll pull his phone out of his pocket again and look at it.

... and then kinda ...

... slump, a little ...

(he's gonna have to slap souji for real.) ]

[ Souji moves closer to take a look at the phone and his smile drops just by a bit when he sees the square still empty but he picks up his smile once again. ]

It's okay. Third time is the charm, right?

[ Kinda frowns at him. It's so sad puppyish - and so reminiscent of when they were kids - that it's probably a little funny. ]
