[ Shin's not plopping down besides Souji this time, as he goes back to work at this diorama. He'll go to Souji the moment he feels Souji needs someone besides him, but right now, he's going to listen at least. ]

That you two were actually the same person? Did you get a new memory?

[ And that's completely fine with Souji. In fact, he kind of feels better about that. At least like this, it seems like he's not really stopping Shin from doing what he needs to do. ]

I did. It... It made it seem like Yu didn't even exist. I didn't even think of him at all in the memory.

[ Shin stopped momentarily, however, he still hasn't turned his back to Souji. ]

Have... have there been any discrepancies on the memories you two share? Things that should happen within the same date, not happening the way you two think it does?

I'm just asking for my own interest.

[ No, he's just asking for Souji's sake, because like it or not, Shin's in this for the long haul, and he'd like to exhaust any and all theories first before he can confirm anything. ]

[ And this is why Shin is one of Souji's closest friends. Even if they didn't have that long history behind them, Shin's willingness to lend an ear and to offer his thoughts without judgment is something that Souji greatly values and appreciates. ]

Not that I'm aware of. We share a lot of the same memories but nothing seems to be different.

[ Souji might as well come out with what made him bring up all of this. There's no point of trying to tiptoe around it. ]

... The reason why I think you're right is because I had a memory where I realized no one ever welcomed me home before. And if Yu was there, he would have...

[ He would have greeted him. They would have always come home together. They would have never felt this crippling loneliness until at least the divorce but even then, Souji would have remembered someone being by his side until then. ]
