northpaws if you'd like to do some bingo stuff (that we haven't already planned beforehand) or if you'd like any other threads! This is just a catch-all post for all the logs/threads I might have, without spamming the comm and to keep all of Souji's bingo threads in one post.

[ ...The exact same as far as business goes, actually. ]
How fortunate! I prefer to shop alone, but... Well, I'll admit, when it comes to things such as buying gifts for others, I'm never sure where to begin. [ Even if it's going to be for Jimothy "Jim" Jimbo. Which she is definitely addressing everything to. ] Would you mind lending a hand? In exchange, I'll pay for our expenditures.
no subject
It's all right. I don't mind helping just for sake of helping. [ He needs no sugar mama and plus, this helps him too since two heads are better than one ] Did you take a look at the registry? I think we can find a few of the items here.
no subject
But she's not gonna push it, it's okay. ] I did, but I kept getting stuck on... "Fine china." It's such an ordinary thing to ask for. Besides that, isn't it generally white and blue? It'll only look white and grey now, seeing as we're lacking a color.
... Unless Jim can still see blue, in which case, I don't believe that's very fair at all.
no subject
Well, they did manage to keep the blue on their Retrospec logo so that's not a farfetched thought.
[ He thinks for a bit. ]
We can purposely get him white and grey china, though, and claim that it's blue. We wouldn't be able to tell and we can also see if that upsets him.
[ They can be little shits in these super tiny ways. ]
no subject
That sounds... Absolutely brilliant. [ Genuinely, actually, damn. ] "To our dear Jimbo— the finest white and blue available. Sincerely yours, two loyal users of Retrospec."
[ She giggles. De-light-ful. ]
I believe that should be our theme for shopping, if you don't mind. Buying grey things and claiming they're blue, or even green.
no subject
I wouldn't mind at all. In fact, I'd highly encourage that our theme should be grey items while claiming they are blue or green.
[ Look at this smile. He knows that they're being lil shits ]
Shall we start with the very dull and boring grey china?
no subject
We shall. Do you think he'd like accents with it as well? Things like... oh, cloth napkins and the like. Perhaps even a tablecloth itself. We may as well go the full dinnerware mile, mayn't we?
[ mayn't is a real word and also the worst. ]
no subject
We might as well, to prove how thoughtful and kindhearted that we are. How could Jim possibly get angry at us for that?
[ Souji will lead them to the kitchen section as he picks up a sample tablecloth that's as grey as his hair. ]
How about this?
no subject
Perfectly splendid! [ Though now she's looking at other kitchen items... like fancy sugar bowls and such. They're kind of cute, she sort of wants that cat-looking one? She doesn't even need a sugar bowl. ] My, but they certainly have an expansive inventory... I hadn't realized there's so much one could buy for their kitchen.
[ Granted, she's never had to shop for her own stuff, so... Oh, there's those napkin things, she's back on the hunt for things they actually need— ]
Are these satisfactory? [ They're grey with... white polka dots. Plainly, they won't match anything else. But who said they had to??? ]
no subject
[ Souji notices the cat sugar bowl and he desperately wants it but he holds himself back. He's here on a mission and he must complete it before he can reward himself. He must stay strong...! ]
I think those are perfect. What if we match them with... [ And he reaches over for a plastic bag of grey plastic forks. ] ... these kinds of eating utensils? Plastic forks are actually much more advantageous than your usual metal ones.
[ ... not really ]
no subject
Are they? Well, I suppose they have the bonus of not needing to be washed, seeing as they're disposable, and they're not as rigid as their metal counterparts... I'll have to recommend buying them to my uncle when I return to my residency.
[ She sounds like she's serious. She looks it. ...She knows metal is better than plastic, but this fits her image more. ]
What else should we pick up while we're here? [ ... ] The china itself. I nearly forgot.
no subject
He didn't really specify what kind of china he wanted, right? Can't we match the theme and just get him paper plates?
[ if they're going to get him shitty napkins, tablecloths, and plastic forks, they might as well go for the entire terrible theme ]
no subject
Paper's hardly the same as china... but we're just poor students, as far as he knows, correct? It's the best china freshly graduated high school seniors could afford. [ ... ] Which is to say: yes, let's. Then we can move onto the fun gifts.
no subject
I hoping that these fun gifts are for us. We do deserve a break after all this tiring shopping.
[ please tell him it's for themselves ]
no subject
It's hardly been tiring, but I certainly would welcome a chance to shop for myself instead of someone I don't know... [ it's hard to say no to that logic so— ] Of course they'll be for us.
no subject
Excellent. Then I think I'll start with this cute sugar bowl shaped as a cat.
[ He goes to reach for the exact same bowl that Elizbeth was looking at earlier but... it seems to be the last one in stock?! Oh no, are they going to have a fight about this ]
no subject
Oh, I was thinking of picking that up as well— [ Oh, there's only one left. She eyes him for a moment, then the sugar bowl... ] Does your very life depend on owning this particular item?
no subject
Are you challenging me to a duel to the death?
[ Souji's hand is dangerously close to the cat. He's going to grab it if Elizabeth makes any sudden moves. ]
no subject
Perhaps I am. [ Undoubtedly she could just... buy it later? But something that normal isn't occurring to her right now.
The only thing occurring to her is to try and snatch that cat before Souji can—which won't happen, naturally, but she is still trying!! ]
no subject
[ her efforts are admirable but unfortunately, souji had his hand right over it so he snatches it away immediately. he then holds it above his head, as high as his arm will let him so he can keep it out of her reach (he's 5'11" btw so that cat is pretty high up) ]
I won't let you have my prized possession, Velveteen. I'd rather die than let you ever get it.
[ oh no, he pulled out his dramatics... ]
no subject
you are wrong, she definitely is. halfheartedly, because as she's jumping, she spots something much more interesting... ]
... Very well. [ she stops and immediately goes around him, just to pick up the most adorable plate. it is shaped like a cat's face and even has a very happy tortoiseshell cat on it. miau. ] But I lay claim to this treasure in reply! What say you, Narukami?
no subject
How dare you. All cat-related objects belong to me. You have no right to hold that.
no subject
which is a kitchen towel. look at these paw prints. they are criminally cute. ]
"To hells, allegiance! Vows, to the blackest devil! Conscience and grace, to the profoundest pit!" [ another step back, her voice low as she tucks the towel into the crook of her arm. ] "I dare damnation. To this point I stand, that both the worlds I give to negligence. Let come what comes." Laertes to the king Claudius, Act 4, Scene 5, lines 105 through 109.
Simply put: I'll do as I please.
no subject
"O villain, villain, smiling, damned villain!"
[ and with that, souji decides not to wait any longer and he lunges. he still tries to keep one hand up high while using the other one to grab the kitchen towel. during the struggle, she might be able to grab the sugar bowl or try to take it from him only to drop it so your move ]
no subject
does not actually stop her from struggling over this damned thing—she grabs the bowl successfully and lets him have the towel juuuuuust in time for a worker to come over to scold them for horsing around in the store and threaten to kick them out if they don't cut it out. but in nicer customer service words.
so, ahem, after that... ]
...I am truly sorry I got us in trouble. [ she did technically start it after all. ] You may have the bowl as reparation.
