TEAM TARZAN LOG
READY: START Team Tarzan roster: Anastasia, Ikuo Ryuuzaki, Jack Kelly, Kasen Ibaraki, Keigo Asano, Kurogane, Kurt Wagner, Silver, Yamatonokami Yasusada, Yaeger, Yosuke Hanamura, Yugi Mutou. The city's been under siege for what feels like hours. It's only on August 3rd that you learn it's been a matter of days. Monsters begin pulling Retrospec users through portals left and right, large gaping holes in reality that spit you out in any given location around the city. However, just as you think you're finally getting away, a large blue portal opens and you're snatched up. No amount of fighting and struggling will free you and soon the pressure is too great to ignore. Darkness fills your vision and the last thing you may remember is the sound of the monkeys howling... This is the Team Tarzan Event Log. You are free to toplevel and thread as you choose on this log, but only team members may utilize this log. Important links to mod toplevels are: Mod Questions & Participation Reporting. Please be aware you are responsible for reporting your own participation & objective completion efforts with links; the moderators will try to keep up with threads, but as we are currently running several teams with participation, we require you to keep us up to date! Please read each of the toplevels and instructions!
The schedule for Team Tarzan is as follows: 3RD: Objective 1 posted (9PM EST) | Objective 1 Part TwoObjectives will be given in mod toplevels to this post with instructions; please check the log currently for Objective 1 to see how this will work. |
WEEK 3 OBJECTIVE
At their feet, however, appears to be twelve pairs of glass slippers. The party may put them on if they wish, but once they're out of their shelter the shoes begin to run down the path. The wind whispers a song about home, wishing to run away and be free. The party has no choice but to follow.
As the shoes lead them down the path they'll notice the castle looming in the distance. As they approach, a drawbridge lowers for them. Up close, the castle seems incredibly large and it looms over them. Several members of the party may remember a similar feeling when the world was so big and they were so small. Crossing the bridge after the shoes, the doors will swing open and the sound of royal trumpets blare from somewhere within.
Inside the castle proves to be massive, several stories higher than the party can even see. The throne room at the end of the castle is locked tight with two giant swords crossing over as a barrier. The shoes approach the throne room and slide up onto 12 pedestals as golden words scroll through the air.
All the king's horses and all the king's men will be needed to put your adventure to end
Well. That makes as much sense as anything else, doesn't it?
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: Explore the castle and earn back the crown.
SECONDARY OBJECTIVE: Submit at least four different room explorations and solve the puzzles/disable the traps within. Please note: some of these rooms will have curses/traps/monsters!
The primary objective is required to "win" the week three objective! Completing the secondary objective is optional and may allow team members to net higher rewards. Threads which progress toward either objective should be reported to this toplevel. Your primary objective cannot be completed solo, and will require you to work as a team!
For this week's secondary objective, please comment here with directions you'd like to go (please select a letter!) and any items/weapons/etc your character has on them. Please note: room C will be locked until all other rooms are opened/solved.
At least 9 of 12 team members must participate to pass. You must also solve the objective; be sure to communicate with your teammates and please let the moderators know of any drastic player action; for the primary objective/secondary objective, please check in with the moderator once you've solved your room!

THE D
Castle in the sky?
Definitely not that. Although is arguably a move up from the shack in the sky, but Yosuke is still complaining. The only thing he's holding out on is the fact that the scroll said "put your adventure to an end".
They could go home! ...Probably. Maybe. Hopefully? Yeah.
They split up as per usual to cover more ground. Slowly they descend the steps, Yosuke keeping one hand on the wall as they go. ]
These go pretty far, huh? I thought we were done with these underground passageways...

As they splinter off into smaller teams once again, Tatsuo finds himself with Yousuke.
Which isn't bad at all, considering he knows the younger man already has an interest in investigating Retrospec and its shenanigans.]
Doesn't help that whoever lived--[lives?]--here is... much taller than us.
[Seriously. These stairs are going to be a pain in the ass to climb back up.]

THE G SPOT
Yet here he is, dressed up in armor, bearing some old ass sword, ready for adventure in some god damn fantasy castle. He's taken a damn crown. What other treasures can they find here?
...
Keeping his spirits up will make it easier for Jeager and the others, too. Hopefully, anyway.]
You ready to solve this puzzle and find some treasure?
no subject
He's likewise got some armor on but he's forgone any new weapons because nothing can top his totally awesome scythe/rifle/sword/crossbow/shield combo. He's ready for whatever this room has to throw at them.]
Ja, of course! Hopefully we'll be more successful in finding treasure this time!
[As opposed to the death traps he kind of had a crisis over.]

ROOM B
It's the clouds, isn't it? That's where he draws the line. Brings a whole new meaning to walking on sunshine.
There's not much else to do but explore the castle. Another week, another place to wander around and hope they don't die. Fantastic.
So, you know what? Fine. Jack's going the easy way this time - straight ahead. And he is quite pleased with what he's found. ]
Hey, it's like a banquet hall or something! Maybe we get a welcome feast, eh?
no subject
And honestly, he's always been kind of a homebody. By now, he would've been ready to go even if he'd been on vacation in Hawaii--and considering he has absolutely no idea about the state of his loved ones (save for those weird tapestries in the cabin??), he's this close to simply trying to jump off the clouds and see if that lands him back home.
...Okay, not really. But still. All he wants to do is go home. And if that means poking around this giant castle until they find... whatever it is they're looking for, then he supposes he'll just have to suck it up and do it.
Luckily, he'd stocked up on weapons at the armory, urging everyone else to do the same--in probably an annoyingly insistent manner, but, well. The memory he'd seen is still halfway on his mind, even now. He's got his own vessel in hand, as well as another sword he'd managed to secure to his belt, a dagger in one pocket and a whip in the other (which he'd only taken because he couldn't fold up the rope well enough for it to fit). Of course, none of this is particularly lightweight, so against his better judgment he'd forgone grabbing any armor, preferring to maintain his speed in case any enemies decided to surprise them.
Jack's comment makes him laugh, though, something he hasn't really done this entire trip.] That would be nice. But with our luck, these dishes are going to come to life or something.

Getting F'd up.
Sword at the ready, wearing some pieces of leather armor, some slight hope (and doubt) from the telepathic messages, and alongside her companions, she's...ready to likely face imminent peril yet again. She's getting tired of imminent peril.]
Is it getting hotter in here.
[She's also beginning to see flickering lights ahead, and the possibility of them not really being alone in this place comes to mind, causing her to slow and look back to her companions with a questioning look.]
yikes, this should be fun
Because yeah, this place creeped him out. They all did, but something out this one just didn't feel right. Then again he might have just been used to the constant danger at this point and was on edge, who could tell? Certainly not him.
He took the long tachi from where he'd slung it over his back - over the armor he was wearing, just in case - and held it at his side instead. Better to be prepared, and all that.

Or, at least that's what he interpreted from the message. He took out his small notebook and looked at what he had written down. ]
I guess our best option is to look around. Want to get started?

E IS ALSO A LETTER
this time, it was a crown. he wanted to roll his eyes, but he found he lacked any modicum of energy to do so. instead, he waited around, taking a breather to recuperate from the taxing missions from days before. and when someone was ready to explore further, he finally tapped in.
he didn't know the majority of their team, but keigo was finding it easier to ignore the lack of familiarity in favor of teamwork. as they approached the winding staircase to the tower room, keigo glanced from side to side, and finally over at his companion for this mission, jack. ]
You think there'll be some kinda boobytrap garbage that'll knock us off the stairs 'r somethin'?
[ after all he experienced in the jungle and ruins, he was perhaps a little on the overly-cautious side. ]
