READY: START Team Tarzan roster: Anastasia, Ikuo Ryuuzaki, Jack Kelly, Kasen Ibaraki, Keigo Asano, Kurogane, Kurt Wagner, Silver, Yamatonokami Yasusada, Yaeger, Yosuke Hanamura, Yugi Mutou. The city's been under siege for what feels like hours. It's only on August 3rd that you learn it's been a matter of days. Monsters begin pulling Retrospec users through portals left and right, large gaping holes in reality that spit you out in any given location around the city. However, just as you think you're finally getting away, a large blue portal opens and you're snatched up. No amount of fighting and struggling will free you and soon the pressure is too great to ignore. Darkness fills your vision and the last thing you may remember is the sound of the monkeys howling... This is the Team Tarzan Event Log. You are free to toplevel and thread as you choose on this log, but only team members may utilize this log. Important links to mod toplevels are: Mod Questions & Participation Reporting. Please be aware you are responsible for reporting your own participation & objective completion efforts with links; the moderators will try to keep up with threads, but as we are currently running several teams with participation, we require you to keep us up to date! "Yeah, looks like there might be someone with a fire up ahead. Be on your guard."

Because yeah, this place creeped him out. They all did, but something out this one just didn't feel right. Then again he might have just been used to the constant danger at this point and was on edge, who could tell? Certainly not him.

He took the long tachi from where he'd slung it over his back - over the armor he was wearing, just in case - and held it at his side instead. Better to be prepared, and all that.

Ok. Lets keep moving. She continues forwards, hand falling to the grip of a blade she barely knew how to use. Yet it was probably better than begin completely unarmed in front of a horde of skeletons.] Be ready; I don't want to deal with anymore skeletons.

[They enter, and it immediately gets all them more hotter. Then again, with a couple of large fire raging in the room, it doesn't really seem as much of a mystery anymore.]

This is...some sort of forge, by the looks of it. [As they walk in, Kath looks over the suits of armor standing about carefully, before carefully observing the fire from a safe distance because dammit she knows there's a chance something horrible will happen to her if she gets too close.] It doesn't look like there's been anyone in awhile, so why is the fire still on?

"Who knows? Let's just figure out how to get out of here."

It was definitely weird, but the hows and whys of it were unimportant to him. His grip on the sword got a little tighter as he tried to prepare himself for whatever was to come.

"Least it's not cold."

Yeah, lets just figure out what this room is supposed to do before anything else happens. [So far, whenever they were in an empty building or space like this, every single room seemed to have an individual function or action. Its why she's watching the armor like a hawk: conveniently armed inanimate objects? Yeah, totally not suspicious.] Have you noticed how, in the temple, every room seemed to have something in store for whoever entered it? Its like all the rooms were prepared for someone to find them. [She's starting to suspect this place has a similar function.

She traces her hand on one of the workbenches with a large number of tools and scraps of metal, bringing up a thick layer of dust in doing so.] This place hasn't been used in a long time by the looks of it, yet the fire seems to be going stronger than ever. Whats going on here?

Kurogane just shrugged. "Us speculating about it won't solve anything. Things will happen as they will, knowing why won't help much."

He honestly wasn't even curious. He just wanted to get out of here and go home, all this weird shit was starting to weigh on him.

...Yeah, your right. [She's gonna keep thinking about it, though. Thinking about how little control they seem to have over their situation at times, how they felt like puppets in this whole scene. Its a thought process she's been trying to avid as of late with all the Retrospect weirdness, but it always crawls at the back of her mind, making its presence clear as daylight.] But knowing why and getting through are probably going to be very important to us going forwards.

[She freezes for a moment, noticing that one of the suits of armor...might have changed positions. Ever so slightly. Oh shit.] Kurogane, watch the armor.

[She's gonna slowly place her hand on the hilt of her sword, watching whatever armor Kurogane wouldn't watch.]

"Yeah, I see it." He'd keep an eye on it, she didn't need to worry. Just because he wasn't interested in the reason behind all of this right now didn't mean he wouldn't be careful, he just didn't want either of them getting distracted wondering about some big design to trick them or something. They needed to focus, since it was only the two of them.

The fires were good for something other than being creepy, thankfully. He caught a bit of a shine that hadn't been there before, and without realizing he was moving he'd already placed himself and his sword between the armor and Kath.

[Of course, of course it had to be the unanimated animating itself. Watching as Kurogane moves to reposition his sword, Kath draws her own, although definitely with a more clumsy manner.

And with that, every suit of armor in the room comes to life. Five metal sentinels wielding swords step forwards, raising their blades in perfect concurrence, punctuated by the sound of creaking metal. In matching footsteps, the five knight begin advancing on the intruders, swords raised in offensive positions. When rats enter their master's home, the cats are let loose, it seems.

Katherine spins around to go back-to-back with Kurogane, refusing to take her eyes off of any of the knights. Her heart is beating wildly in her chest, and adrenaline is already beginning to pump through her veins.] Get ready, I don't think their going to go down as easily as the skeletons did.

"Tch. I hope they don't, they've got armor. The skeletons were just bone."

He almost protested her moving to protect his back, then decided it didn't matter much. The suits of armor were moving in sync, at least for now, and while they didn't look quite as easy to take down as the skeletons had, they shouldn't be too difficult either.

"They're moving together, so just keep an eye on them. Should be okay."

You must have gotten on his good side, Kath. That was almost reassuring.

Why would you hope for that? [Really, why would you? Kath doesn't turn back to snap at him, though, as she steps back to dodge an incoming sword blow. Yeah, there's no way she can beat this kind of thing in a sword fight: she doesn't have nearly as much experience as Kurogane does. So she does the next best thing: skirt around it and behind a nearby table. Luckily, it finally seems to break from the symmetry of the other knights, turning to pursue her. Another knight follows in suit.]

"It was sarcasm. I don't really hope for it, I'm not that insane."

Well. One could hope, at the very least.

He watched, impressed, as she skirted to get out of their direct path and draw two of them away. "You got them? I can take these idiots and then swing back to help you if you need it."

And with that, he made his way toward them with a great swinging arc of his tachi.

Yeah. A little help would be greatly appreciated here. [She hates the fact that she isn't that useful at the moment. She's used to fighting people, dammit, and even then it was a fist fight, not a fight with swords and what-not. However, aid comes to her in the form of a small mallet on a nearby table, one that looks a lot heavier than her sword. Placing down the blade on the table and taking the mallet, she chucks it as hard as she can at the armor's helmet.

With a resounding clang, the mallet hits its mark on the armor's head, causing the machination to stumble back momentarily. Its not much of a victorious blow, but at the moment anything works for her.] Also, work on your sarcasm, that was horrible! Insanity seems to be a larger possibility every day we spend in this place.

"Tch. My sarcasm is fine."

His attacks seemed to be as well, and he had to opportunity to watch Kath hit one of the armor-things with the mallet. He completed his sword's arc and watched the suits fall, one by one, before he turned and used the continuation of the maneuver on the one still after Kath. It worked, thankfully, and he was able to go after the one she'd hit without too much trouble.

"Wish we could tell when they're beaten. I don't think we can actually kill the fuckers..."

[Kath doesn't really have time to observe Kurogane's badass display, unfortunately. She's too busy dodging sword attacks form the remaining two knights. Her attempts at using her short sword aren't really that affective, especially when you have to constantly watch your right side.] Need some help here!

"I got you."

It was all he said, too busy fighting off the other ones to pay any attention to conversation. It worked, though, and he was able to clear a path, at least for a moment.

"Let's get the hell out of here."

Lets go! [There really isn't much time for conversation. Following Kurogane, the two book it out of the smithy, unaware of the group of knights now chasing after them, ready to swear their fealty to them. Yeah, this is gonna get really weird when they get back to the group and have no ice whats going on.]

Eh, it wouldn't matter all that much if they didn't know. At least not to Kurogane, who had no clue about any of this weird shit. He did notice they were being chased, but figured as long as they were far enough in the lead they'd be all right.

[Kath takes a moment to look behind them, hearing the sounds of approaching boots clanking on the ground...and then promptly regrets doing so. That is just terrifying to see running up behind you.] Their following us!

"Yeah. Better run faster, then."

It was all he could think of. He could fight them off, but it seemed a little defeatist.
