READY: START Team Snow White roster: Davey Jacobs, Eleanor Lamb, Fang, Kasen Kanesada, Malik Ishtar, Mari Ohara, Riku, Ritsu Kageyama, Ryoji Mochizuki, Toushiro Hitsugaya, Yuri Plisetsky. The city's been under siege for what feels like hours. It's only on August 3rd that you learn it's been a matter of days. Monsters begin pulling Retrospec users through portals left and right, large gaping holes in reality that spit you out in any given location around the city. However, just as you think you're finally getting away, a large blue portal opens and you're snatched up. No amount of fighting and struggling will free you and soon the pressure is too great to ignore. Darkness fills your vision and the last thing you may remember is the sound of many bat wings... This is the Team Snow White Event Log. You are free to toplevel and thread as you choose on this log, but only team members may utilize this log. Important links to mod toplevels are: Mod Questions & Participation Reporting. Please be aware you are responsible for reporting your own participation & objective completion efforts with links; the moderators will try to keep up with threads, but as we are currently running several teams with participation, we require you to keep us up to date! WEEK ONE OBJECTIVE

Upon awakening, team members will notice that the monsters have disappeared and they are no longer in the city of Recollé. In fact, the city doesn't appear to be in sight at all and any attempts of contact via cell phone or Retrospec will be met with multiple error messages.

And for good reason, seeing how it appears they are very, very far down in the earth. The nearest source of light is so far away that it casts an eerie glow around their current location. Embedded in some of the dirt walls are bright blue glowing gemstones, crystal-like jagged edges that also shed some light.

Exploring the mines themselves will reveal mining equipment scattered along the ground and in some puddles of water, among them being abandoned helmets and pickaxes that have seen better days. The stones can be unearthed from the walls, but the moment they are removed the glow disappears. Should anyone be brave enough to explore the water as well, they will find what appears to be bones of an undetermined species.

Deeper in the mines, party members can follow a series of railroad tracks and discover several tunnel openings in the walls, darkness ahead and the inability to see just how far down things go. A handful of mine carts seem to be in working condition, and even though the tracks are rickety they support the weight of these carts. Mostly. The moment anyone pushes one of the carts forward, a loud recording echoes across the chambers.

"Warning. Warning. Cave-in ahead."

Mines usually don't warn of cave-ins, do they? But then again, mines also probably don't rattle with the loud roar of a creature from somewhere in the dark. Grab some gear and pick a cart; you have a long journey ahead to escape this collapsing mine and avoid…whatever the hell that thing is.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: Ride the mine carts and find the right tunnel to escape with your whole team.
SECONDARY OBJECTIVE: Find the creature causing the cave-in and take it out.

The primary objective is required to "win" the week one objective! Completing the secondary objective is optional and may allow team members to gain extra tools/items for next week's objective. Threads which progress toward either objective should be reported to this toplevel. Your primary objective cannot be completed solo, and will require you to work as a team!

For this week's secondary objective, please comment here with tunnel/mines explorations so that the moderators may provide you with information and clear the thread!

At least 8 of 11 team members must participate to pass. You must also solve the objective; be sure to communicate with your teammates and please let the moderators know of any drastic player action; for the primary objective, please let the moderators know which tunnel you are taking as some will lead to traps or dead-ends!

Question: For Yuri and Shiro, can I request flavourtext of a chance encounter in a tunnel with the monster or can I presume this is something that's okay happening while they're looking for a way out? Not because I then want these two guys to go after the monster (YURI WANTS TO LIVE), but as a sort of flavour enhancement as they're down in the tunnels trying to find ways through.

They'll be exploring one of the tunnels that branches off the biggest one leading out of where they start. They will not be tracking the creature in the cave, though if it seems like there's a lead, Shiro may buddy up with a fighter and call them that direction etc. (Just to give you guys more info to work with.)

Hello modlies, I was wondering if we could get info/flavor text for this group as Malik decides he's gonna go to whatever path looks biggest/most frequented/ or most likely a straight shot to freedom.

Which really means he's just guessing. I have no idea how mines are laid out. I can try for more specifics if needed?!

So Eleanor and Mari are tromping off into the darkness over here. Can we have some idea of what they might find or run into or run away from? The monster or something else, anything is fine!

Dante and Freya have gone off looking for the beast. They have light, weapons of varying degree, and an overgrown rodent a kangaroo. Dante's leading them towards where the roars are the loudest; Freya's looking around for other signs of the beast (tracks, markings, previous meals, smells distinctly not typical for dark mildewy caves, etc.)

Let's go for flavortext for the moment, unless you think otherwise is better!

Freya and Ryoji will go off into a tunnel; whichever looks like it might slope upwards towards the surface, or if Ryoji's compass works in the tunnels after being fixed, whichever path it's pointing towards. Ryoji's butterfly companion can create light, so darkness isn't a problem.

Kasen and Ritsu will be going off to try find the monster as well, set chronologically after most the other explorations are midway! So they might actually find the job's already been done, oops. Ritsu has his improved hearing, so he'll use that to judge where the monster is the best he can.

Eleanor and Toushiro are headed into another tunnel over here. Is there something they could, perhaps, fight? :D And perhaps something to find too. But the fighting would be cool.

Mari and Eleanor want to go poke at one of the potential exits people have found. They're going to go look at the tunnel that seems to lead into a swamp?

Frosty the Snowman, was a jolly happy soul,
With a corn cob pipe and a button nose, and two eyes made of coal. ♪

[ As his snowman companion sang along its merry tune, Ritsu rubs his head, squinting through the darkness. He's pensive about his inquiry, but his sharper hearing makes him hear the sounds of other people's breathing. His pickaxe was still with him too. It definitely smelled like a cave... was this what Retrospec was preparing him for? ]

... Hello? Is anyone else here? Are you guys okay?

[There was an unhappy groan from nearby as Eleanor sat up, pressing her hand to her head and trying to ward away the dizziness from that sudden trip through...something.]

M'here.

[She muttered an answer, then shook her head to clear it and sucked in a breath.]

I hear you, I mean. I think I'm fine.

[She started patting herself down in the darkness to check. Nothing seemed broken, she still had her purse...so far so good...]

I'm here!!

[ she's so glad to hear someone else??? she and her beautiful lazer shooting pig come running up to him ]

Are you alright?

[ toushiro groans as he wakes up, his arm throbbing and still bleeding out. someone requires healing.

other than that, he's at least still able to stand, obviously not entirely There but responsive and taking a look at his surroundings. dirt walls...covered in glowing gemstones. as if it's come straight out of a movie.

he sees other people nearby, and with one arm grabbing to the wall of the cave, he makes his way towards the rest of the group. ]

[ It takes a moment for Malik's eyes to adjust to the eerie, dim lighting, and honestly - he's not impressed. He's filthy and sore and while it's hard to see in this environment, he's also rocking a new eye color and ritualistic eyeliner. Not that he can see his own face, though. Sadly that's all he's been "given" for this venture; no new powers or items or anything useful.

In any case, he's mostly pissed at not having any control over the situation. So he screeches towards the ceiling(?): ]

[ This is followed up with a groan because sitting up hurts. ]

EXPLORATION: yuri, davey, malik

[ Malik wants out. He's not about to be a trapped rat and die down here from stupidity and/or starvation. After a talk with Ritsu, he supposed he could make his intentions clear: He's getting out, he'll FIND a way out, he's leaving now, come with him or don't, bye.

He doesn't check to see if anyone even followed as he heads to a mine cart. ]

[After waking up, Freya, still dressed for the con (with bits of worbla armor falling off), doesn't hesitate to go farther into the cave once people are shown not to be badly injured. A kanagroo, of all things, follows on her heels carrying a lumpy sack.]

[Freya stops by one of the pools, peering into the murky water, and starts poking around in it with a long metal dustmop handle she came through the portal with.]

[She's pushing something around, but Freya can't quite grab it before it sinks.]

Hey. Get that, will you? Or get better light.

EXPLORATION | yuri & shiro

( Yuri hefts his make-shift blanket sack over his shoulder, letting it rest at a diagonal across his chest. he's itching to keep moving, to drive back the weight of the stone he imagines overhead by never being still.

he doesn't know shiro. not before now, where they'd found themselves down here, but the unknown people are almost better than the one he knows best and finds himself irritated by: dante.

which means shiro, who looks like he may be ready to move, is exactly who yuri stops in front of, nodding his head down the tunnel they've been moving down to one to the left, where moving air comes from. )

Up to checking down that way? No one's seen if it goes anywhere. It feels like there's some wind movement.

( he hopes. he desperately hopes. he's tired of all this, and he can't stop moving. )

Eleanor and Mari's Excellent Exploration

[Eleanor played the beam from the flashlight as far as it would go down the tunnel, watching the shadows that moved as the light did, and then finally drew in a deep breath and let it out. Okay. They couldn't just wait here, right? They had to figure this out. So she hefted her purse on her shoulder again and turned to look at Mari, offering her a slightly shadowed smile.]

No time like the present, hm? Shall we?

[She gestured into the tunnel, then started walking.]

MONSTER HUNTING | open to 1 or 2!

[Do they need to get out of the mines? Yeah, sure. Dante's probably a little more blase about the idea than the rest of them, considering Soul Eater's ability to cut through pretty much anything--if things start to come down, he starts swinging, simple as that.

But there's something more important to swing at, and it's whatever it is that's making that roaring noise. Dante frowns intently the first time they hear it, his skin crawling in the dim with how the mines seem to rattle at the noise. They've got a couple good people on the team, people he'd choose to fight alongside if he needed to, but there are also a couple kids and a couple people that'd be pretty much useless in a fight. Whatever it is, leaving it to roam and run into their little group sounds like a bad idea to him.]

I'm going after whatever that thing is. Anyone else in?

[He'll give it a moment to see if anyone else wants to join (because while he's got complete faith in himself, Dante's gotta admit that running off on his own might be a particularly boneheaded move...), but then he's going to set off in the direction that the roar came from, trying to pick the tunnel most likely to contain a beast.]

[ Staying still didn't bode well with Ritsu, and his improved hearing is making the whole situation more unnerving. ... Except for the fact his fake Frosty the Snowman was still singing happily, it was pretty quiet between him and Kasen at the initial point of gathering. The glowing gem he had dug out earlier with Eleanor is in his hand, and he's gotten tired of staring at it for lack of anything else to look at in the darkness. ]

Never mind waiting for everyone else to finish up. Let's go too.

[ And as he said that, another loud sound from the beast's movement resonated through the walls. ]

exploration (freya, ryoji)

[ Of all the things Ryoji had received from the treasure chests back at the convention, the compass sitting in his hand is something he'd tucked away into his back pocket and left to forget about, never thinking he'd be lost and have a need for it.

Standing here, in the middle of a cavern, the need is now. He'd gotten it fixed, but... he walks from tunnel to tunnel to tunnel, the needle of the compass pointing to the same one no matter where he turns: north, he can only suppose. ]

What do you think, Freya? North is as good a direction as any, right? As long as we keep going in the same direction, instead of being turned around, I'm sure we'll find a way out.

Eleanor and Toushiro Go to the Tunnel

-are all starting to blur together, right? The tunnels, I mean.

[Eleanor was chattering as she and Toushiro moved down another of the mine's tunnels, her flashlight beam pointed at the ground ahead.]

It's a shame we didn't get brought here with some paper, we could've made a map and colored it all one-

[She cut off at a noise ahead of them. She frowned at the darkness ahead, then looked back at her companion.]
