TEAM SNOW WHITE LOG
READY: START Team Snow White roster: Davey Jacobs, Eleanor Lamb, Fang, Kasen Kanesada, Malik Ishtar, Mari Ohara, Riku, Ritsu Kageyama, Ryoji Mochizuki, Toushiro Hitsugaya, Yuri Plisetsky. The city's been under siege for what feels like hours. It's only on August 3rd that you learn it's been a matter of days. Monsters begin pulling Retrospec users through portals left and right, large gaping holes in reality that spit you out in any given location around the city. However, just as you think you're finally getting away, a large blue portal opens and you're snatched up. No amount of fighting and struggling will free you and soon the pressure is too great to ignore. Darkness fills your vision and the last thing you may remember is the sound of many bat wings... This is the Team Snow White Event Log. You are free to toplevel and thread as you choose on this log, but only team members may utilize this log. Important links to mod toplevels are: Mod Questions & Participation Reporting. Please be aware you are responsible for reporting your own participation & objective completion efforts with links; the moderators will try to keep up with threads, but as we are currently running several teams with participation, we require you to keep us up to date! Please read each of the toplevels and instructions!
The schedule for Team Snow White is as follows: 3RD: Objective 1 posted (9PM EST) | Objective 1 Part TwoObjectives will be given in mod toplevels to this post with instructions; please check the log currently for Objective 1 to see how this will work. |

Any idea how we’re doing this?
[ Because while he might be well aware of the textbook logistics of moving this thing, the first thing that still comes to mind is cartoon mine carts screaming down the tracks after the slightest movement. ] Should I just.... push? [ And gears up to do so, ax safely out of the way in case he has to jump in ]
no subject
Worth a try if you want to get it going. [ He has noooo idea how mine carts work, yet his tone is still snide. ]
I hope you can run fast enough to jump in!

( meanwhile Yuri has zero patience for posturing, so decides to ignore Malik and look to the guy he doesn't know. )
We'll check for a hand brake or something. I'll haul you in if you get us started.
( Royal we. Yuri checks for and pulls at a rusty brake, bracing two hands on the edges and then kicking the thing out of locked position. he doesn't flinch at the screech as the cart shudders under his onslaught. it worked, didn't it? )
There.
no subject
He breathes deep, eyeing the now unlocked cart with full trepidation before heaVE-HO- oh shit. That. That is not a good warning at all.
But there’s not a lot of time to think about that before he’s scrabbling after and into the cart before the momentum picks up speed. It’s a miracle he makes it in with any sort of finesse, taking a moment to breathe and contemplate the fact his life flashed before his eyes for a moment there. ] Well. That was fun.
no subject
And Malik is loving this mine cart ride, by the way. This was a good idea. Of course he's mentally congratulating himself as if he's the sole reason this even came to pass but, okay. At least it makes him a little less edgy. ]
Did either of you bring a light? How are we supposed to know when to stop if we can't see?
[ There's the ambient light and the glowing rocks, but still. ]

Aside from a flick of his eyes at the ridiculousness of asking when Malik had hare-brained jumped in first. Okay, right, Yuri does this kind of thing too, but he doesn't expect anyone else will figure it out for him. (Except when he does ask, you know, people he knows... to help... where the hell is Dave? Is he okay? What the fuck happened to Anya? Is she okay? She's not in here too somewhere is she? What about Karkat? What the fuck.) )
Probably's going to get even more fucking fun before too long.
( He sidles around Malik to pull on the handbrake... which squeals........... very loudly, but starts to slow them down. REASSURING.
Up until something roars. )
Oh come on!
no subject
[ But maybe it’s a good thing the lighting is relatively dim because it hides how fast Davey pales at the sound of the roar, his grip tightening on his ax with just a tinge of fear ] More…. ?
no subject
Hey! I was talking, you i-- [ And then he gets cut off YET AGAIN, but by something far more sinister than a rusty handbrake.
His lack of planning is starting to catch up to him. Not only does he have no tools or provisions, he's also lacking in any sort of defense or scheme to help him escape a monster. Not at the convention center, and certainly not while they're confined underground with limited visibility. ]
Okay, new plan: we're getting as far away from that as possible.
no subject
( Yuri grits his teeth, straining to hear if the roar had come from any one direction. The path continues ahead; he frowns, pulling the break back and vaulting out. He's not worried about speed on anything here. The cart will or won't go; he's trying to figure this out.
Because as Malik says, Yuri plans to get far away from that. )
We could send the cart on ahead or behind to distract whatever the fuck that was while we keep going forward. Not as fast, but also not as freaking loud.
no subject
[Somehow he doesn’t think they’d be so lucky. So just plan around that then, David. ]
Light might call it straight to us so we may be better off without it right now. The previous noise from the cart might have caught its attention but the echo should at least give us some time before whatever it is figures out which direction we're in. If we send the cart ahead maybe we’ll figure out where it is but we’d also be out of a ride but we might be better off on foot regardless. [ Faster to escape too if needed. ]
no subject
[ Following Yuri's lead and hopping out, though he's eager to kick it forward-- but not right this second.
Look he's got a lot of aggression built up and needs to vent it somehow. ]
no subject
( is Yuri's helpful comment, though he's not saying they should use light. what blinds the howler blinds them too. he glances to Davies, hooking his thumb over his shoulder as an indication that he hop on out. )
Sounds like we all agree. Cart goes ahead, we follow on foot.
no subject
[ Which is honestly a touch worrying. Because where did they all go-. Not the time Dave. Getting out of here himself first. ] Something to keep an eye out for I suppose. [ hopefully while they're not running for their lives ]
no subject
Not that I expect much considering what was found earlier. As much as I want to agree, overburdening ourselves with junk is only going to slow us down... We don't need broken tools and lanterns that can't be lit or more stale food.
[ Malik gives the cart a proper push, and it starts to roll on ahead. ]
Especially not if you have to run from a monster.
no subject
( okay, so he had to address Malik, too. either way, he takes off after the cart, sticking to walking between the tracks. if the cart suddenly goes silent, he knows he'll be leaping off and away; much like if it goes crashing down. )
Whatever makes sense, I'll help bring along.
no subject
[ So much for those video game mechanics ]
[ Either way, he tags along two steps in back of them, one wary eye on anything the could (and probably would) pop up from behind. ]
no subject
But without further ado, Malik gets going. The dim lighting does little to ease his edginess, and that's only compounded by the sounds he can't really place- the rats and rolling carts. Little too spoopy for his taste.
Although.... ]
If either of you can trap rats, at least you could eat something fresh.
no subject
What's that?
( and investigating to locate a crate and two rotted metal helmets. he uses his foot to prod the crate, getting the top open and switching to a crouch to peer in. )
Huh. Canned peaches.
no subject
Which, in all honestly seems unlikely but dreaming is nice. ] I seem to have left my mouse traps in my other pocket.
[That being said… ] But at least we found dessert.
no subject
Great... One can will last us, what? Ten minutes? [ A huff ] Anything else?
[ Said as he looks around the area closest to his feet. Huh. A broken shovel. ]
no subject
( meanwhile, Yuri holds up a can of... spam. ). Huh. Not bad.
no subject
[ Davey’s just gonna poke around the other side of the area leaving Yuri
oto investigate. There’s gotta be more than one box just sitting here amidst the food wrappers, rusted gear and- hey, crackers! What a gourmet meal this is turning out to be ] Think this'll be enough for us?no subject
But I'd rather move ahead to find more moldy peaches or what have you. As long as we get out, that makes us less dependent on wasting time to scavenge.
no subject
You and me, yes. This guy only wants to dine on freedom.
( how american actually good work Malik ANYWAY Yuri tucks everything away in his blanket-satchel, including two cans he doesn't bother identifying, just checking to see if they've rusted. they have not; he feels that's safe enough, even if he doesn't have a knife to take off the top.
he stands, brushing his knees off, and picks up a handle of a broken shovel. something's better than nothing, isn't it? walking riiiight on close to the tracks again, right back to ignoring Malik. )
no subject
It’ll give us something to…. look forward to when we get out of here. [ He says with much enthusiasm! So much!
(@ Life, why this.)
A final glance around reveals nothing else too interesting and he’s following along right behind. Here’s hoping they find something before he has to separate these two ]
