TEAM SNOW WHITE LOG
READY: START Team Snow White roster: Davey Jacobs, Eleanor Lamb, Fang, Kasen Kanesada, Malik Ishtar, Mari Ohara, Riku, Ritsu Kageyama, Ryoji Mochizuki, Toushiro Hitsugaya, Yuri Plisetsky. The city's been under siege for what feels like hours. It's only on August 3rd that you learn it's been a matter of days. Monsters begin pulling Retrospec users through portals left and right, large gaping holes in reality that spit you out in any given location around the city. However, just as you think you're finally getting away, a large blue portal opens and you're snatched up. No amount of fighting and struggling will free you and soon the pressure is too great to ignore. Darkness fills your vision and the last thing you may remember is the sound of many bat wings... This is the Team Snow White Event Log. You are free to toplevel and thread as you choose on this log, but only team members may utilize this log. Important links to mod toplevels are: Mod Questions & Participation Reporting. Please be aware you are responsible for reporting your own participation & objective completion efforts with links; the moderators will try to keep up with threads, but as we are currently running several teams with participation, we require you to keep us up to date! Please read each of the toplevels and instructions!
The schedule for Team Snow White is as follows: 3RD: Objective 1 posted (9PM EST) | Objective 1 Part TwoObjectives will be given in mod toplevels to this post with instructions; please check the log currently for Objective 1 to see how this will work. |
WEEK THREE OBJECTIVE - FINAL ROUND + WRAP-UP
The doors slowly open. The party will ascend up a spiraling set of stairs that Mari and Ritsu may recognize from their blast to the past. Now though, the tower is dark and empty and broken. Coming up to the observatory, they'll find that the room's been ripped to shreds, the rat poison's long emptied and dried and blood stains the floor. The windows are broken and nothing in the room is salvageable.
Elsewhere in the house they'll hear a clock downstairs chime midnight and the temperature will drop for everyone in the room. Suddenly, a large ghostly figure of a young woman appears. Her dress is stained and torn, eye sockets empty and broken and long claws dripping with what appears to be poison. She'll shriek at the party and accuse them of having tainted blood before calling down the spirits of a hundred ghosts in the house, filling the room and attacking the party. These ghosts will throw objects and try to possess members of the party to turn on each other. Ritsu and Ryoji will have the best luck seeing this figures but they ripple in and out of the moonlight for the rest of the party to track. They won't attack Toushiro, though they will wonder why he isn't joining their side. This may work as an advantage if he can trick them or speak to them about turning on the main ghost. The stone lions Yuri and Eleanor obtained will also join the fight and can be used to block heavy objects being thrown.
The thermoses from before may be of use now. Turning the lid, the party can also capture and "cleanse" the ghosts to control them and bring them to their side. The only way to stop the main ghost, the only ghost who can poison and really hurt the party themselves, is by splitting her into pieces and trapping her. This can be done using a variety of powers, though fire works best. What finally ends her, however, is piercing the chest of Ryoji with a large object. Though this won't kill him, something about the nature of his true form and hers collides. It makes her vulnerable so long as she's alive and they can finish her off.
The Aftermath
Upon defeating the ghostly woman, a door in the wall will swing open to reveal a secret hideaway. Here, the party will notice that it looks as though the ghost was the nursemaid/nanny of the Spinnato twins and that she poisoned them to put an end to the Spinnato family line. In addition, they will find a contract signed by a C. Vanderweele. This contract outlines a building permit and terms and conditions for using land in the city of Recollé to build a company called Retrospec. They will also find the original blueprints for the building. They will find that Retrospec is much larger than it appears, several stories in both directions and countless rooms. They'll find that there are certain mechanisms in place for removing stairs and doors and walls and that the building itself actually spreads pretty far over the city.
With the blueprints in hand though, the party will soon find the floor crumbling beneath them and they begin to fall. The lions will also jump after them, and the thermoses will follow with them. It's a long, endless fall in the dark but they'll pass several items on the way down from the mansion. It's a long rabbithole to follow, but don't worry. You'll be back home safe and sound…someday.
GHOST SWARM
no subject
Shit, spot me!
( he's catapulting onto the back of a stone lion and bringing his thermos down over a flicker of a ghost, guarding his head with one arm while something comes flying straight for him. )
no subject
[ His eyes are darting every direction, and ears ringing from their wails that he covers them. ]
Frost! Go get them!
[ An icicle launches into the wall where a ghost evades, which crumbles down and sheds more moonlight into the room. ]
no subject
She called them here, right? We have to freaking take her out or...
( Yuri throws himself to the ground and rolls as a some thrown object soars right through the region where his head had been. )
Get these guys working with us fast!
no subject
[ He's not sure how well reasoning would work in this situation, but he tries anyway. ]
Hey, why are you with her?! She murdered the children of this household, don't tell me you sympathize with that!
[ Ritsu's snowman blasts a telescope knocked his way with another icicle, and he curses under his breath. ]
They're just distractions... but they're doing a very good job of it.
POSSESSIONS
no subject
[The tall woman stumbles suddenly, her shoulders going slack. She stays slumped like for too long, given the dire circumstances, then rigidly shooting upright, one of the ghosts' unearthly wails peeling from her throat.]
[And she's lunging at the party with her improvised spear.]
no subject
[Dante notices the moment she stumbles, the too-long pause before she straightens suddenly, the wail that comes from her throat...]
Freya, no!
[It doesn't matter that he's got no way to fight her--as she lunges toward them, Dante's throwing himself at her, determined to tackle her to the ground before she can properly attack one of the others. Unfortunately, he's got no way of defending himself, so he's pretty wide open to an attack.]
no subject
[She screams furiously again, her fists beating down on Dante's back and side in fire-coated blows, as if she were determined to shatter him into bits.]
no subject
Yeah, he's definitely going to be scrambling up and away from her, coming up with... a piece of crown molding as a weapon to defend himself with? Okay, he'll take what he can get.
To the rest of their team, he's yelling:] A little help here?! Anyone know how to deal with crazy possessed teammates yet?

it's...not going too well.
he's never been good at negotiating or persuasion. in fact, since everyone can see him? it's not hard to tell he's having a hard time. for a moment, he doesn't move, hands crossed and eyes closed, grumbling to himself.
they need a plan.
he'll float up to whoever's still in the clear, for now, right in front of them: ]
They want me to join their side. We can use that to our advantage, somehow.
no subject
Or... plant an idea in them of a weakness we don't have, so that a trap may be laid.
no subject
You may have better odds negotiating than the rest of us. If they're convincing you... another option is what about doing the opposite? Do they have reason to be violent like their leader? Can you get them on our side to overthrow her so they can exist peacefully?
She was the malicious presence I could feel from the beginning, I'm sure she's affected everyone's minds. Other ghosts were being eliminated too, when I was exploring with Ryoji-san.
no subject
In the real world he wavers, body unstable and head bent before he straightens up, looking around himself for something he might be able to weaponize. An oil lamp nearby catches his attention, and the boy seizes it up, pulling the chimney from the flame and turning the dial to increase the flow of oil to the flame.
Face twisted up in a dark scowl, Dante's lunging forward toward his fellow party members, aiming for loose bits of clothing: shirt tails, overall straps left undone, dress hems... sorry, guys, it might be time to stop, drop, roll...!]
no subject
[ There was only so much measure he could give when the possessed Dante held the lantern so carelessly as he did, Ritsu was only good for ranged attacks. A sleeve of his catches fire and he's able to stamp it out, but another lunge pushes him to trip backwards what used to be a chair.
Looks like breaking off its leg is going to be what he uses for now. Whacking off the lantern from his grip though... that's not going to be a very good long-term idea. He observes Dante going after their other teammates, watching if there's any opportunity to get at his wrist. Sorry dude, he'll try for the back of his hand if he can. ]
Over here!
no subject
Unfortunately, this means Ritsu's just made himself a target. With a silent snarl twisting his features up even more, Dante rushes him, trying to either tackle him to the floor or shove him into the wall.]

BOSS GHOST
no subject
Will someone figure out how to kill her already?!
( Yuri shouts from where he kneels over one of her arms, knee pressed against the back of her hand to keep it pressed into the carpet, soot and stars knows what else over his face and arms and his thermos sitting just out of reach. the stone lions are currently helping keep a leg pinned to the carpet.
vomit. vomit vomit vomit he can't vomit he can't-- )

He was never good at fighting. He had never wanted anything to do with it. Nothing about him is suited for it— his hands are stained with other people's blood where he tried to help instead of hurt, and what magic he does have at his arsenal are merely light and sound, intangible just as the ghosts above.
Where is Thanatos, God of Death, when he needs him most?
He can't fight, but maybe he can talk? Ryoji takes the woman's other hand in his, pleading. ]
Please stop!
[ His eyes flicker from her face up to the ghosts, eyes trying to follow the entire swarm at the same time, and failing. She pays his request no heed and instead the ghosts swoop at his face for his troubles and he lets go in order to avoid them; he expected this, but he will always, always, always try to talk things out before fighting. ]
no subject
Catch! She won't let them listen!
( don't get up, arm. stay where you are. maybe he will forget about this, or maybe they'll all be the next unlucky bastards succumbing to the smoke from the fires starting. no, fuck that. he refuses to be dead. he has too much he wants to live through. )

FINALE
no subject
Some of the party may have been paralyzed by clips against the nursemaid's poisonous claws and the protective companions from the QR codes hang by to guard them. When the woman's eyeless face lets out another shrill shriek, Ritsu observes a blur, a rapid whip like a glitch to avoid the flame; Ritsu coughs out, as clearly as he can not wanting to waste the oxygen they're fighting to share with the flames. ]
The fire... she hates it! Drive her into there!
[ Maybe this was the opportunity they needed! But will they even all get out of here in one piece? ]
no subject
Driving somebody into the fire without being able to attack... The only thing Ryoji can think of is to use being attacked. He can still move, and he moves away from the fire, open hands, unarmed, vulnerability to draw attention. In order to throw anything at him, the women will have to face him, and with every step he takes forward, she will have to take one back in order to get the range she needs for a good shot, without being overcrowded by the ghosts or the rest of the team who may jump out at her periphery. ]
no subject
Turning to his snowman who's looking worse for wear in all this heat and practically slush, Ritsu doesn't know how helpful he can be in this situation either. The best he can think to do is find that opportune moment when she's in the fire to end this.
The woman finally swipes at Ryoji, but his immunity to the poison means he can still move on the off-chance it does hit him. ]
