READY: START Team Tarzan roster: Anastasia, Ikuo Ryuuzaki, Jack Kelly, Kasen Ibaraki, Keigo Asano, Kurogane, Kurt Wagner, Silver, Yamatonokami Yasusada, Yaeger, Yosuke Hanamura, Yugi Mutou. The city's been under siege for what feels like hours. It's only on August 3rd that you learn it's been a matter of days. Monsters begin pulling Retrospec users through portals left and right, large gaping holes in reality that spit you out in any given location around the city. However, just as you think you're finally getting away, a large blue portal opens and you're snatched up. No amount of fighting and struggling will free you and soon the pressure is too great to ignore. Darkness fills your vision and the last thing you may remember is the sound of the monkeys howling... This is the Team Tarzan Event Log. You are free to toplevel and thread as you choose on this log, but only team members may utilize this log. Important links to mod toplevels are: Mod Questions & Participation Reporting. Please be aware you are responsible for reporting your own participation & objective completion efforts with links; the moderators will try to keep up with threads, but as we are currently running several teams with participation, we require you to keep us up to date! ...Well, are we ready to face this and hope we survive?

[Silver holds up a hand for a moment, studying the obstacles further, then nods at Jeager. It's do or die, and they better do.

They're totally going to die.

Silver doesn't give Jeager any warning before making a run for the axes. Croconaw keeps pace like he expected this.]

You've got to be kidding me.

[Jaeger doesn't hesitate any longer than it takes for him to say that though, because if he hesitates he's absolutely going to die. He follows Silver, just barely making it through the axes with his stupid tailcoat intact.

There's a small space where they can catch their breath after the initial swinging axes and Jaeger tries to catch his breath and determine exactly how to proceed from here. Up next are the arrows, so he shifts his briefcase into its shield form.]

I'll trust you to find the right timing again. You're better at this than I am.

[feistytrader]

Are you sure?

[You know, he doesn't have the luxury of time to argue. Next are arrows, and they seem to fire out in waves. The problem is... Can they outrun them? Maybe if they jump at the last second...? He looks at Aoi- who hasn't had a single problem with this so far- and then at Jeager, who... Should be fine with the shield and all.

They'll be fine... Maybe. Silver backs up as much as he can, then looks at Jeager.]

Ready?

[Jeager is really putting his trust in him, huh...]

[Is he sure? Not at all. He doesn't trust anyone in this room with his life to be perfectly honest, himself included. But Silver got them through the first set of axes and that's better than he can say for his own sense of timing, so sure. He'll trust Silver.

He stares at the arrows and sighs loudly.]

No, but we don't have much of a choice, do we? Let's go.

[feistytrader]

Move your shield in the direction I tell you.

[He waits another few moments- then another- then finally nods and gets moving. It's fine getting past the first set, then the second, the third is cutting it a little close-]

Left!

[Looks like he's trusting Jeager with his life too.]

Will do!

[Jaeger sounds as chipper and upbeat as always, but his hand's shaking where he's holding the shield. Still, he follows Silver's directions, swinging the shield up to block the arrow to the left. Thankfully his timing is good and no one's hit, but if he were just a little slower... Well, it's best not to think about it. Yikes. Let's just hurry through this part - we're almost there!]

[feistytrader]

[That's two down, and... A bunch more two go. The fire isn't constantly open either, but one error in timing is going to be bad, considering that they have to jump over these. He touches his bandaged arms a little, then shakes his head. They don't have to deal with any fire at all. There's enough space to land on between each one, right?]

Hey, Aoi, Water Gun.

[The flames go up, Croconaw spews out water, and... Now they have a fuckload of smoke to contend with instead, making the air thick and seeing ahead impossible.]

[...]

Well.

[That sure did happen, didn't it. Jaeger sighs and runs a hand back through his hair.]

Now what? We can't move until the smoke's cleared out.

[feistytrader]

[Silver pulls his shirt over his face and pouts for a moment; the good news is that it is clearing out, even if it's a slow process.]

At least I tried it before we started moving.

[Sorry, Jeager...]

No, it wasn't a terrible idea. I would've suggested the same thing, actually!

[Which just goes to show how bad we are at this. Oh my god we're gonna die.]

But it's clearing out so we should be able to move soon, ja?

[feistytrader]

It shouldn't take more than another couple of minutes.

[...Well, if they can't get rid of the fire, then how about-]

Aoi, can you soak us?

[Croconaw is more than willing to oblige in soaking the absolute shit out of both of them.]

[THANKS AOI, THANKS SILVER... He understands where this is a good idea but at the same time...]

Well. Today certainly is going places, isn't it.

[siiiigh]

[feistytrader]

We haven't died yet.

[Now that they're soaked to the bone, he looks ahead- he can see clearly now, although the smoke sort of stings at his eyes- and once again, without much warning, gets jumping over the damn flames. At least the first one is much smaller than the others. At least he doesn't mess up his damn timing, even if the heat is a little ridiculous at this closeness.]

Yet...

[How reassuring. But there goes Silver and Jaeger follows because he doesn't trust himself to do this on his own. The heat is absolutely worrying, but at least this means that we'll probably be dry soon?? Oh my god. We're gonna die.]

[feistytrader]

[They're probably going to die. Silver jumps past one set of flames, the second... And he abruptly stops and holds Jeager still right before the flames on the third go up in front of them.]

[He follows, of course, stopping when Silver reaches out for him and he just sort of watches as the flames rise before them. There's a brief moment where it almost sounds like Jaeger said something along the lines of "holy shit" but surely that was just your imagination.]

Well. That was close. A little too close. Are you alright?

[That fire was practically in your face, are you okay- Never mind, we don't have time to stop and answer questions, we need to keep moving forward.]

[feistytrader]

[They definitely need to keep moving forward, and Silver quickly nods, although his proximity to Jeager makes the fact that he's trembling pretty clear, although whether it's out of fear or excitement is up for debate. It doesn't stop him from doing his best to project a level head, and regardless of whether he's successful or not, he's quick to continue onward, making it through the rest of the fire and the next set of axes with good timing.

...Which leaves them with a large gap. One that leads down into the abyss, from the looks of it.]

[Jaeger's just going to assume that's a natural fear response and not excitement because frankly he's not sure he's here for someone else having weird responses to things that could kill you. Besides, it makes sense to be scared because he's downright terrified of dying here.

(Of course he's doing what he can to remain flippant about it because Jaeger doesn't like showing fear, but that's not the point.)

Anyway, he follows Silver through the fire and the axes and only stops when he reaches the pit. That's... definitely a pit of spikes oh my god.]

How are we supposed to make it across that?

[feistytrader]

It doesn't look too far to jump across if you catch the ledge, but...

[That's not something he feels particularly safe gambling on. While they're deliberating, however, Aoi leaps across the damn thing like it's nothing, because we need the damn crocodile that looks like a flintstones reject to show everyone up today.]

I don't trust myself to manage that.

[At least he's honest about it?? Anyway, there goes Aoi, making this look entirely too easy.

...Actually...]

Do you think your friend could fill the pit with water?

[feistytrader]

[...There's a good thought. Silver lays down for a moment and looks all the way down at the spikes below. He considers it for a moment, then confidently says-]

Not a chance.

That would be too easy, wouldn't it...

[Oh well, it was worth a shot. And speaking of shooting...]

What about that grappling hook we got from the lizard? Could we use that to cross?

[feistytrader]

-Yeah, you could just grab onto the ground, and...

[...And flames light up a little behind Croconaw. If Jeager's going to use the grappling hook, it's going to have to be carefully.]

...Never mind, that's not going to happen!

[Why!! Why are there more flames after this???

Alright, so it looks like the only option is just to try to jump across. The gap itself looks large and intimidating, but Jaeger can probably make it, right?]
