READY: START Team Tarzan roster: Anastasia, Ikuo Ryuuzaki, Jack Kelly, Kasen Ibaraki, Keigo Asano, Kurogane, Kurt Wagner, Silver, Yamatonokami Yasusada, Yaeger, Yosuke Hanamura, Yugi Mutou. The city's been under siege for what feels like hours. It's only on August 3rd that you learn it's been a matter of days. Monsters begin pulling Retrospec users through portals left and right, large gaping holes in reality that spit you out in any given location around the city. However, just as you think you're finally getting away, a large blue portal opens and you're snatched up. No amount of fighting and struggling will free you and soon the pressure is too great to ignore. Darkness fills your vision and the last thing you may remember is the sound of the monkeys howling... This is the Team Tarzan Event Log. You are free to toplevel and thread as you choose on this log, but only team members may utilize this log. Please be aware you are responsible for reporting your own participation & objective completion efforts with links; the moderators will try to keep up with threads, but as we are currently running several teams with participation, we require you to keep us up to date! Sweet deal!

[And so Kurt gets to work, shifting things around to fix things up without messing up what Keigo had accomplished. That's another chunk of the puzzle down!

Then, he steps back and holds up a hand to tag Keigo back in.]

Alright, you're up!

[loudmouths]

[ consider him tagged! this was actually kinda fun... even if keigo couldn't shake the Air of Foreboding that he got out of the place in general. ]

Okay, let's see...

[ with what kurt had already accomplished, it wasn't too difficult to move some of the remaining pieces around to form another side to it. it was the middle pieces that gave him issue. ]

...Aah... Where should this one go? Left or right?

[digthefuzz]

[Kurt pretty much feels a similar vibe.

But they're slowly closing in on the solution!

Kurt steps forward as Keigo questions, and rubs his chin thoughtfully.]

Um... right, I think?

[loudmouths]

[ right it is! keigo moved the piece over, as instructed... well, that looks better! getting closer... ]

Ah, the rest of this shouldn't be too much harder to figure out, right??

[digthefuzz]

Yeah, we got this one in the bag! Let's do it to it!

[And then with some more pieces slid into place, the image of the scarab beetle is complete! And with that, the wall slides open...]

I'm at work atm so I'm gonna be a bit slow!

[loudmouths]

[ truly amazing! keigo even jumped back a bit as it opened out of pure shock. ]

Woah! I dunno what I was expecting, but damn...

I guess we gotta go in?

No worries!

[digthefuzz]

[Kurt's eyes widen in surprise as he watches the door open. He flinches, almost expecting something to come out, but nothing does. And he just glances with a mix of wonder and apprehension.]

Whoa... A real life secret passage!

[He nods at Keigo's question.]

Of course. That's gotta be where the real goodies are! [In fact, he starts to move straight on ahead into the passageway!]

[loudmouths]

[ woah, this guy was pretty brave! or pretty reckless... either way, once keigo snapped out of his trance, he grabbed the torch and followed after kurt. ]

What are we supposed'ta be lookin' for again?

[digthefuzz]

[A little bit of column a, little bit of column b...

Luckily Keigo remembers the torch! And so they step forward, and Kurt glances around to examine their surroundings as they move into the dark hall.]

Well, I'm guessing the pieces of that big beetle thing back where started. After that puzzle, I only feel more sure of it!

[loudmouths]

[ ah, yes... the beetle... keigo hummed thoughtfully, shining the torch around carefully. ]

You don't think that there's gonna be a booby trap 'r somethin' around here, do you?

[digthefuzz]

I... guess it's possible.

[He admits with a frown.]

I honestly don't know what to expect! But hey, at least that other room was safe, right? So maybe this'll be safe too!

[loudmouths]

[ leave it to keigo to get paranoid... ]

Yeah, but if it was safe in that room, it could be the opposite further in. [ he raised his hand up, finger pointed for Emphasis! ] Like, y'know, lurin' ya' into a false sense of security!!

[digthefuzz]

[One of them has to!]

...Okay, okay, that's a fair point. Let's just... be on our guard and all. Whatever comes our way, we can totally handle it! ...Probably.

[He says with a weak chuckle.]

[loudmouths]

[ sorry, bro... for dampening the mood... ]

Well, so long as we're careful, I think it'll be fine, yeah?

[ except that the longer they walk, the more risk they're taking for something... dangerous... to happen... ]

[digthefuzz]

Totes, man! Totes mcgotes!

[He affirms as they move further into the dark and twisted path. ...Except then, there's a noise in the distance, quickly getting closer.]

Do you... hear something?

[loudmouths]

[ these colloquialisms are lost on keigo, but it was no matter!! onward!!

...until...

what was that noise... ]

...y...yeah.

[ perhaps stupidly, keigo stopped and turned around, shining the torch down the way they'd come from. it was... really dark, now, and for as long and twisting as the route was, it was almost like they're entered some other dimension...

but enough dramatics. maybe. something was coming. something large. ]

...M...maybe we should uh. Pick up the pace?

[ aka: run like hell? ]

[digthefuzz]

[There's no doubt that it sounds like something coming to kill them. So Kurt nods his head quickly and mechanically.]

Yeah!! Pick up that pace... big time, man!

[With that, he starts to move into a run! And he'll try to keep pace with Keigo.]

[loudmouths]

[ something big... something hungry...

...okay no. it was a boulder.

a huge-ass rock, in keigo's mind, as it seemed that as soon as the two of them started to run, it decided to make its appearance far behind them... but that distance would be shortened eventually. ]

....IYAAA!! I TOLD YOU, I TOLD YOU!! RUN, RUN, RUN!!

[digthefuzz]

OH I'M RUNNING!! I'M RUNNING!

[He catches a quick glimpse of it and keeps on running! He dashes over towards one door, opens it and tries to run right through it!]

[loudmouths]

[ if there was anything keigo was good at, it was running. but in the process, he dropped the torch!! looked like they were going to have to run for their lives in minimal lighting. ]

Shit, shit, shit!!

[ keigo panted, quickly darting after kurt once he found that glorious, beautiful, magnificent door.

...it was just a normal door, but keigo could have kissed it for how relieved he was to see it. ]

[RIP torch, the first casualty of the mission

It's a door alright! And as Kurt runs through it... they end up in a corridor that's either the same or very similar. It's harder to tell with all of the darkness.]

What?!

[There's not much time to think, because the boulder suddenly barrels through another door! Quickly, Kurt looks around and points - in the dark, he can kinda make out what looks like another door?]

Over there! [He runs towards it like his life depends on it, because it does!]

[loudmouths]

[ they'll hold a service for it later... if they get out of this alive.

which keigo was beginning to doubt, what with how twisted the entire ruins seemed to be. ]

Ah, okay, okay!!

[ off he went?! would this door lead to safety or yet another roundabout path? either way, keigo slammed into the door with the force of... however much he weighed. and!! ]

UWAHH!! It's all the same!!!

[ but they didn't have time!! onward?! ]

[digthefuzz]

It- it just looks the same!

[Probably! He thinks. And so through the next door! And... into another similar-seeming room?! And the boulder once more barrels into the hallway.]

...We don't have time for this!

[Instead of going for another door, Kurt opts to sprint down the corridor as fast as he can.]

[loudmouths]

[ this was truly making keigo feel like he was going crazy. how could everything look the same like this?! ]

O-okay!

[ either way, he sped down the hall alongside kurt, throwing a look over his shoulder to see how much closer to death they were. ]

THIS IS NOT HOW I IMAGINED DYING!!

[ .........that's nice and optimistic. ]
