It seems like someone is manually picking and choosing from a list of every Retrospec user who didn't disappear into the void, and several names queue up. > initialize support team CONFIRMED. The screen clears itself, and instead of the familiar retrospec logo, there is simply TEAM ETHANOL as a designation. the application will refuse to show anything other than a map, with one point highlighted in red. it is, of course, up to team members to decide whether or not they approach the access point. Team Ethanol's access point is in the Recollé Graveyard. Team members will find the grave of "G. Mahoney" will move aside to reveal catacombs so long as they approach it in groups of two or more team members. Only Team Ethanol team members can see or enter the catacombs at this time. Please see the Objective 1 toplevel for more information on what they can see when they travel further down the tunnels. This is the Team Ethanol Event Log. You are free to toplevel and thread as you choose on this log, but only team members may utilize this log. Important links to mod toplevels are: Mod Questions & Participation Reporting. Most of it is nonsense, but lots of mentions of mirrors. Have you seen one anywhere? What about the books, anything about mirrors?

[She steps to the right, opening the drawers to the side of the desk.]

the drawers reveal a lot of brushes and tools one might use for cleaning bones and reconstructing skeletons and the like! one of the drawers also seems to have a collection of pretty pebbles in it. they are mostly purple.

also there's a tarantula crawling out and onto her hand but you know, whatever, ]

Nope, no mirrors. The books are just filled with dates... Can't read most of them though, since they're in some kinda weird language.

so while she hasn't noticed it yet, sena's just gonna pick up a book from the shelf, slooooowly approach her from behind and - well, if she's not turning around in time he might just SMACK THAT SPIDER OFF HER HAND REALLY HARD and pretty much hitting her in the process

[Okay, so its just a drawer full of brushes and junk, and apparently whoever owned this place likes purple.]

Any languages you recognize? I speak five languages so I should be able to understand at least--

[And then she feels something... fuzzy? crawling on her hand. At which point, there are no more words. There are only screams. Screams, until the book comes down on her hand.]

What the fuck is that?! Kill it! Kill it kill it kill it!

[She'll just jump up on the desk, pulling her legs up to make sure that wherever the spider lands, it wont end up back on her.]

[ nope! the reconstruction things are like, what a paleontologist might use. you know, someone super into bones, and putting them back together.

also, the languages don't appear to be recognizable to vera either if she checks later.

the spider skitters away into the dark under the desk, fleeing for safety. ]

[ oh, that's much better. thought they're dealing with the occult here, which would be even more fucked up.

but the spider has retreated for now, and yet sena's still raising the book as if ready to attack at any time. seems it's gone for real, though. ]

It's just a spider? Don't be such a scaredy-cat; we've dealt with scarier shit out there and yet you're screaming your ass off from a spider?

Just because there's actual monsters outside doesn't mean the spider isn't creepy!

[But she takes a deep breath before slowly lowering herself back to the ground.]

Ugh, there's not even anything important on the desk. I took a map, but it doesn't really line up with what we've seen so far. Maybe there's other crypts like this in other places?

[After taking a quick look under the desk to make sure the spider is gone, she'll retreat, slowly, to the back of the room towards the bed.]

[ i mean, sena may not want to go into the other rooms his teammates are exploring with skeleton monsters and zombies and dragons, then??? just saying.

also, the spider has truly retreated. the bed, for the record, is neatly made. ]

[ HE DOESN'T KNOW THAT MODS, gosh, give him some slack here. he watches her go towards the bed, scratching the back of his head. ]

Anything in there? [ like a human skeleton? ] Oh, go try checking for monsters under the bed like a kid.

[ starts snickering under his breath because sena you're more of a kid in this situation??? ]

[Still, she'll check under the pillow and examine the sheets. Yep. That's a bed.]

Nothing in it, but whoever lives here is pretty orderly.

[ super orderly! because under the bed, it looks like someone has dusted fairly regularly? how tidy of them. no dust bunnies live here at all.

monsters under the bed fail to occur. so far, they might have picked the safest room overall to investigate. ]

That's the thing, though... It really looks as if someone's been keeping this room clean, like they're expecting us? But who?

[ he turns to the chest at the corner of the room and sighs. right, they're saving the last piece of evidence for last, aren't they? ]

Come on, help me open this chest. Since it might be locked or something.

[What if its filled with spiders? Sigh. Might as well get this over with.]

[ the chest, upon further inspection, is indeed locked! it looks like they'll need to open it with a key.

there may be a key somewhere else in the room? ]

What the hell? Ugh.

[ tsk. locked, so that means something very important is inside. ]

Are there any more places we haven't looked yet? What if the bed has the key hidden under the pillow?

[Meanwhile, she'll look around the room.]

Those notes wouldn't shut up about mirrors, but I don't see... [It looks like there's a portrait on the wall next to the bookshelf. Vera steps over to examine it.]

What about this? It's a figurative reflection, right?

but it doesn't seem to have a key or anything. maybe they need to think creepier? ]
