It seems like someone is manually picking and choosing from a list of every Retrospec user who didn't disappear into the void, and several names queue up. > initialize support team CONFIRMED. The screen clears itself, and instead of the familiar retrospec logo, there is simply TEAM ETHANOL as a designation. the application will refuse to show anything other than a map, with one point highlighted in red. it is, of course, up to team members to decide whether or not they approach the access point. Team Ethanol's access point is in the Recollé Graveyard. Team members will find the grave of "G. Mahoney" will move aside to reveal catacombs so long as they approach it in groups of two or more team members. Only Team Ethanol team members can see or enter the catacombs at this time. Please see the Objective 1 toplevel for more information on what they can see when they travel further down the tunnels. This is the Team Ethanol Event Log. You are free to toplevel and thread as you choose on this log, but only team members may utilize this log. Important links to mod toplevels are: Mod Questions & Participation Reporting. [ OH GOD DOES HE REALLY HAVE TO STICK HIS HAND IN THERE, HE HATES THIS SO MUCH HE WANTS TO DIE

but enough overreaction. taking a deep breath, sena reaches his hand inside and... okay, got the key, and he's throwing the skull across the room as if it's one of his bombs. ]

Here! Go open it quick! [ just slams the key into vera's hands ] Oh god, oh god, did I even bring a hand sanitizer?

[ give him a moment to look through his leather fannypack because EW EW GERMS ]

[heiroglyphs]

[Vera would make fun of him, but she did just kind of freak out too. Instead she'll take the key... with two fingers and a concerned look, and unlock the crate.

Leaning down in front of it, she puts one hand on the lid and slowly, carefully, opens it.]

[ remember when i said so far they picked the safest room to investigate?

yeah, well, this dude jumps out of the chest ready and willing to slice them up, so hopefully vera and sena are prepared to step up! ]

[adoringpast]

[ goddammit.

but yeah, that's totally unexpected, and it's a good thing sena's hands are already in his fannypack because he can just grab a couple minibombs to prepare himself. but what about vera, though? ]

Vera, look out...!

[heiroglyphs]

[Vera's immediate reaction is to scream. Her secondary reaction is to grab the fencing saber at her side and slash at the skeleton's stupid face.]

[recollecters]

[ skelly chatters his teeth at vera and goes to bring two of his own sabers to bear on hers.

he has, like, four though? so his two other arms will go to hack at her. ]

[adoringpast]

[ holy shit, yeah, she can't just fend for herself with just one sword. ]

Hold on! Let me just --

[ gonna run around them so that he's behind the skeleton, one of the bombs in between his fingers already ticking down. ]

Okay, jump back if you're ready! I'm gonna throw a bomb!

[ and when she does, he'll throw the minibomb at the skeleton. it won't make a huge explosion, but it would still pack a punch. but would it work, though? ]

[heiroglyphs]

[Vera's quick enough to push off of the two swords to parry the third, but can do nothing as the fourth slashes across her chest. She screams in agony, but the blade does not appear to have done any damage to her body, or even her clothes. Instead, the heiress is bathed in a flash of white light, which dissipates almost immediately.

That didn't keep her from completely freaking out, however, and she stumbles backwards onto her rear, kicking her legs to get herself as far away as she can.]

[recollecters]

[ well. the skeleton man has no natural defense against a fucking bomb, so as long as they dodge out of the way of the bone shards, they should be solid!

of course, this also exploded the chest a little bit. ]

[adoringpast]

[ ah, shit. while sena is able to dodge the bones, he can see that vera was down and out and so he quickly runs for vera's aid, just crouching down to help her out. ]

You okay? Don't die on me now, all right?

[ yeah he may sound this is all just a nuisance, but he's deathly worried. please don't be injured?? he knows jack shit about first aid and there's nothing in this room that can help with wounds or whatever. ]

[heiroglyphs]

[Vera's just going to lay on the floor for a moment and catch her breath. Despite everything that just happened, she seems to be unharmed.]

Oh... now you're worried... about me?

[recollecters]

[ the room sees this tender, touching, tsundere moment. and does nothing really, being a room. ]

[adoringpast]

[ can't believe the room is aware of their tsundere tendencies ]

It'd be a pain if I just let you die here? If you do kick it I'd either have to leave this room without you and be scolded by everyone else in the team for letting you die, or I'd have to tuck you in that bed so that you're literally sleeping with the nonexistent fishes.

[ huffs. but yeah, deathly worried on the inside. he'll help her up if she needs it, and takes a look at the slightly damaged chest. ]

Great, the chest is ruined... You think there's something else inside?

[ that aren't spiders or skeletons or whatever??? please let them rest ]

Like I'm going to let something so stupid kill me.

[Okay, moment over, Vera's going to worm her way back onto her feet, ignoring Sena's hand.]

That thing had to be protecting something, right? Go see if there's anything else in there.

[recollecters]

[ the "anything else" is a glowy white orb. it appears to have survived the bombing intact. ]

[adoringpast]

[ it's not everyday he offers a hand to someone so what the fuck?! just who the hell is this person? the moment totally iced over as sena stomps over to to the chest with a scowl.

huh. some sort of orb? let's pick it up then. ]

The fuck is this...

Something important, I hope, if it survived all that.

[recollecters]

[ they might want to take it to the terminal and see about those slots underneath the crossed arms of the sarcophagus! otherwise, this room seems to be Done for now, so it fades quietly into silence. ]

[adoringpast]

[ right, terminal it is! nodding at vera, sena will go right ahead and leave the room while delicately carrying the orb in both his hands.

the terminal is at the end of this long dark hall, right? ugh, he can't see in this at all. ]

D'you have a flashlight or something?

[Vera follows beside him, pulling her phone from her pocket and turning on its flashlight.]
