It seems like someone is manually picking and choosing from a list of every Retrospec user who didn't disappear into the void, and several names queue up. > initialize support team CONFIRMED. The screen clears itself, and instead of the familiar retrospec logo, there is simply TEAM ETHANOL as a designation. the application will refuse to show anything other than a map, with one point highlighted in red. it is, of course, up to team members to decide whether or not they approach the access point. Team Ethanol's access point is in the Recollé Graveyard. Team members will find the grave of "G. Mahoney" will move aside to reveal catacombs so long as they approach it in groups of two or more team members. Only Team Ethanol team members can see or enter the catacombs at this time. Please see the Objective 1 toplevel for more information on what they can see when they travel further down the tunnels. This is the Team Ethanol Event Log. You are free to toplevel and thread as you choose on this log, but only team members may utilize this log. Important links to mod toplevels are: Mod Questions & Participation Reporting. Ugh, there's not even anything important on the desk. I took a map, but it doesn't really line up with what we've seen so far. Maybe there's other crypts like this in other places?

[After taking a quick look under the desk to make sure the spider is gone, she'll retreat, slowly, to the back of the room towards the bed.]

[ i mean, sena may not want to go into the other rooms his teammates are exploring with skeleton monsters and zombies and dragons, then??? just saying.

also, the spider has truly retreated. the bed, for the record, is neatly made. ]

[ HE DOESN'T KNOW THAT MODS, gosh, give him some slack here. he watches her go towards the bed, scratching the back of his head. ]

Anything in there? [ like a human skeleton? ] Oh, go try checking for monsters under the bed like a kid.

[ starts snickering under his breath because sena you're more of a kid in this situation??? ]

If I find a second spider, I'm a hundred percent done.

[Still, she'll check under the pillow and examine the sheets. Yep. That's a bed.]

Nothing in it, but whoever lives here is pretty orderly.

[ super orderly! because under the bed, it looks like someone has dusted fairly regularly? how tidy of them. no dust bunnies live here at all.

monsters under the bed fail to occur. so far, they might have picked the safest room overall to investigate. ]

That's the thing, though... It really looks as if someone's been keeping this room clean, like they're expecting us? But who?

[ he turns to the chest at the corner of the room and sighs. right, they're saving the last piece of evidence for last, aren't they? ]

Come on, help me open this chest. Since it might be locked or something.

You're really interested in this chest.

[What if its filled with spiders? Sigh. Might as well get this over with.]

[ the chest, upon further inspection, is indeed locked! it looks like they'll need to open it with a key.

there may be a key somewhere else in the room? ]

What the hell? Ugh.

[ tsk. locked, so that means something very important is inside. ]

Are there any more places we haven't looked yet? What if the bed has the key hidden under the pillow?

Wasn't there when I looked, why not try to break it or something?

[Meanwhile, she'll look around the room.]

Those notes wouldn't shut up about mirrors, but I don't see... [It looks like there's a portrait on the wall next to the bookshelf. Vera steps over to examine it.]

What about this? It's a figurative reflection, right?

[ the portrait is of a man with an absolutely STUNNING moustache. like, it's amazing.

but it doesn't seem to have a key or anything. maybe they need to think creepier? ]

Well, we're dealing with an absolute neatfreak weirdo here, from what we can gather from this room - where else would they be hiding a key?

Well, it's not in the portrait, then what else could be a "mirror"?

[Nothing else really looks reflective, or even looks like a person. Nothing, except...]

Oh god, please don't tell me it's in one of the skulls.

[ the skulls wait patiently for a decision to be reached, being skulls. ]

oh. god. just gonna extend a hesitating hand for a random skull and... shakes it real hard? is there something inside? ]

[ there is definitely a key inside the skull, good job! it seems to be rattling around inside the cranium? ]

but enough overreaction. taking a deep breath, sena reaches his hand inside and... okay, got the key, and he's throwing the skull across the room as if it's one of his bombs. ]

Here! Go open it quick! [ just slams the key into vera's hands ] Oh god, oh god, did I even bring a hand sanitizer?

[ give him a moment to look through his leather fannypack because EW EW GERMS ]

[Vera would make fun of him, but she did just kind of freak out too. Instead she'll take the key... with two fingers and a concerned look, and unlock the crate.

Leaning down in front of it, she puts one hand on the lid and slowly, carefully, opens it.]

[ remember when i said so far they picked the safest room to investigate?

yeah, well, this dude jumps out of the chest ready and willing to slice them up, so hopefully vera and sena are prepared to step up! ]

[ goddammit.

but yeah, that's totally unexpected, and it's a good thing sena's hands are already in his fannypack because he can just grab a couple minibombs to prepare himself. but what about vera, though? ]

Vera, look out...!
