[Are you in Chata today? Are you outside of the grocery store today? John's hanging around, leaning against the side of the building with a clipboard in his hand. Starting a petition is…not quite what he has in mind, but he can bend it a little and maybe it'd count. Should anyone get close enough, he'll approach and grin a little, clipboard gripped firmly as he waves.]

Can I borrow a few minutes of your time?

Viea Village, OPEN

[Frankly, he's also a little bored and it's why he decides to commandeer a stall at the Farmer's Market today. The market's been quiet given the lack of people around, but today John's selling what appears to be…a bunch of baked goods. Tarts, cookies, pastries (no cupcakes, weirdly) and some candied apples.

For anyone passing by, he'll lean forward a little, nudging the tray toward you.]

Tribunal Terrace, OPEN

[John can also be found walking from the parking lot of the hospital, carrying a couple of large boxes from his car toward the front door. There appears to be a handful of art supplies hanging out of the boxes, but as he passes by he'll commentate.]

Mind getting the door for me? I could really use a hand. [He thinks he's funny. He's not.]

DAISUKE - BURGER CHALLENGE

[He's coming off of a shift at work when out of nowhere he seems to remember something from months ago. Something about a burger challenge and a shitty burger badge...was that real? That was real, and it's why he course-corrects to head to Big Bang Burger.

He recalls that the challenge is one of the things on that list of tasks for Zee and it's nice to think he can knock at least something off of that list. If it means bringing people who'd left the app back...maybe it was worth it.

As he approaches the door though he spots someone familiar and he picks up pace, heading forward to join him.]

Daisuke, hey! It's been a while.

[ Daisuke has also been eyeing the challenge for a while, pondering whether he should take it. He remembers Yusuke trying it out on the network and it didn't sound like a fun time. On the other hand, he can probably eat it and have it count as a full meal for the day. As to whether that's cheaper... well, that's only if he can finish the burger in 30 minutes. Suddenly, he's not feeling so confident.

His train of thought gets interrupted when he hears and sees John walking up to him. he smiles and gives him a small wave in greeting. ]

Hi, John! Long time, no see!

[ He seems pretty chipper compared to the contemplating look he had seconds ago. ]

Are you here to take on the Big Bang Burger Challenge? We can see people who aren't on the app for a little bit, so I think it could work out if you wanted to give it a go.

YUSUKE - FOOD FIGHT

[On another day, John's just kind of wandering. It's what he does. Without the impending threat of school, or, like, the end of the universe, he finds himself just kind of easing his way into summer. It's been a few weeks and he's just now starting to take those tasks seriously.

On the other hand, it's nice that his schedule is a little less hectic and he has more time to go outside and explore, see who he runs into in this city of theirs. It's how he comes across another familiar face seated at a table. Yusuke's more a friend of Dave's than John's, but he likes the guy well enough and he approaches with what appears to be a slice of pizza and a salad he's procured from somewhere.]

[ So, someone here forgot to eat breakfast. Before, that was an easy thing to dismiss, but now? Now he gets mental images of sad roommates and a disapproving boyfriend so is trying his best to remember to eat.

When John sits down, he's midway through a sandwich and it takes a moment to chew and swallow his food. It's probably a graceful and beautiful image, let's be honest. ]

-- Hello, John. [ Hold up, he's gonna be polite. Put the sandwich down and everything. ] How are you?

CHIYO - STAR PAINTING AND GAZING

[He'd texted her on a whim because one of the things he knows best about Chiyo is that she's an artist and she loves the sky. It would make sense to ask her to join him, and it's why he makes his way to her house after agreeing to meet up. There're cans of paint and rollers and brushes in the trunk of his car, and as soon as she steps out of the house he perks up.]

This is actually kind of exciting, don't you think? At least the stars are better to look at than some other things.

[ Even after her fiasco that was painting the sky with Minato, she wouldn't say no to painting the stars ever. Could they make their own constellations? No, that's not quite right, but thinking about it is fun.

She greets John with a bright smile. ]

It is! Everyone will what we did once we're done. Do you think our work will stick once things go back to how they were?

[ Her optimism makes her say it'll all be fixed for sure. ]

NUI - MUSEUM TOUR

[Nui was always a very interesting case. He liked her, thought she was a little weird but overall he liked her enough to want to reach out and see where she was at. Having a break from school and work and the realization that people could leave any day was enough to break him out of his pattern and gravitate toward people who have always been interesting.

And so here they are. He waits for her in front of the portion of Apprassage where museums are lined up and as she approaches he gives her a wave.]

Hey. It's good to see you. [Which is true, really.] Did you have a museum in mind or are we winging it today?

[Nui finds herself quite fond of John, too -- regrettably, because he seems to be such a poor judge of character. Even if he's a nice guy (ew), she can always count on him to not take life very seriously. And she'd rather go wherever she pleases, so really, it's not that bad.

Nui folds her arms behind her head and turns to face the block of museums, leaning back as if looking up at something either intimidating or holy.]

Hey, cutie! You flatter me.

Gosh... I think history is really in the eye of the beholder, don't you?

ELDA - SHARK SWIMMING

[This was absolutely the stupidest idea he's ever had, but at the same time he could always say he was with an adult and everything.

Okay, so that's not the reason he asked Elda to come along. For whatever reason, it just seemed like the kind of thing that would suit her and his curiosity was getting the better of him. If all else failed, he could bop a shark in the face with his hammer, Elda could use her vampire powers and they'd be fine. It was a quick discussion and arrangement before they picked a day to meet up.

Maybe it's a little too on-point though when he shows up in blue swim trunks and a black t-shirt, but he joins Elda at the entrance to the aquarium.]

We're really doing this?

[ Well hopefully a night, she'll burn up in the day now.

But she herself is in sundress, overtop of her own swimsuit. She smiles at him and, ]

[ Akane scratches her chin, wondering what it could be about. ]

[He squints a little, thinking he recognizes her picture from the little profile on the app. Nevertheless there's a friendly smile.]

So...okay, I'm trying to collect signatures to prove a point to someone. How do you feel about the acting career of Matthew McConaughey? [He has other real questions, too, but he's unfortunately just as serious about this one.]

[Here's the thing. The thing is that it's later in the afternoon and John comes strolling into Catmosphere. Is it bad that he's brought his own cat? Yeah? Oh well, Mewpac is still kind of lanky for a full-grown cat and she's tucked in the kangaroo pocket of John's hoodie as he enters. Eyeing the café, he soon spots his target and he slinks up to the counter, leaning on it and whistling lightly to get Akira's attention.]

Akiraaaa...[Yep. Just like that.] You've seen the tasks, right? What would I have to do to convince you to teach me how to brew coffee? And before you say it, I already have a trade.

[ The way his name is called sends a shiver up his spine—his first thought is if he did something wrong? Pretty sure he didn't (or did he). The cats that are out and about smell something different, all staring at John with curious eyes.

Akira does the same when he finds a place to sit... Right in front of him. Holding a mug, he keeps on staring. ]

[ He wasn't ready for this proposal. ]

[It's admittedly been a while since Sora's seen John, but petitions never really seemed his style. Still, it's not like he's in a hurry, and John's a good guy.]

Couple of things! [It's Sora, and that means he gets a more casual grin from John as he waves his clipboard.] I need to prove that the art and stylings of Nic Cage are still relevant...but I'm also trying to spread the word about the coalition. Only one of those things is probably going to count as a task for that Retrospec rep.

[Orion isn't... particularly? Fazed? By the turn of events on the app? He doesn't have alot of NPCs he talks to, and he can't say that he's bothered to check on his parents. ...He should probably do that. Eventually. But for now, he's just... wandering around, trying to figure out what to do at this point. The only missing NPC that does bother him is the fact that his primary job is out of a manager.

He'll just have to be careful with paychecks, maybe pick up some odd hours at another job. Or maybe bug Iwai to give him some more hours if he can. He doesn't know. He'll figure it out. So, being out and about is his way to just... sort through it. He guesses.

Running into someone asking for a hand, though, he looks up at where he's at.

Oh. He didn't realise he'd wandered this far.]

Yea, sure. Need any help carrying the boxes, too?

[He goes ahead and props the door open with his foot and offers an arm. Might as well help, right? He's not doing anything better right now.]

That...would be awesome, yeah. [There's a grateful smile as he passes off one of the boxes, catching the edge of the door with his free hand so they can both head into the hospital.] Thanks. I thought about carrying everything the normal way but I didn't want anything getting damaged. And these--[A gesture to the boxes.]--are heading to the children's ward. Know the way?

[He does, but if Orion wants to lead, that's fine. He's not opposed to following a stranger.]

[Like the others in Chata, Augustine also did some grocery shopping since taking care of three Pokemon can do a lot with his refrigerator. He was about to return to his car when he notices a young man approaching him and asking him for his time.]

O-Oh... I was about to go home, but I can free up my schedule for a bit.

[Strangers are cool, he can deal with that. With that said he holds up the clipboard and attempts to make himself as appealing as possible, grinning slightly.]

Okay, first thing's first. How do you feel about movies?

[He's a little surprised when John calls out to him, but Ishida smiles brightly and folds his arms, ready to hear what he has to say. Something important, probably!! Or maybe something involving the volunteer group?]

Hey! [Oh no. Ohhh no Kiyotaka probably wishes this was only about the coalition. Part of it is, sure, but mostly:]

[ With being a ReVA volunteer, Elliot is in this district a lot. So he happens to be near when John asks for help ]

Oh sure John!

[he doesn't realize that was even meant to be a joke, and instead is going to help him get the door]

What's with all the art supplies?

[It's Elliot so there's an easygoing grin as John juggles the boxes and he heads for the door.]

Thanks! And you know...just got bored, made a bunch of decorations and now I figured it would make more sense to bring the stuff here and finish what I was making.

Wildcard - Dreams/Nightmares (Enprise)

[It was at least a little easier? In the sense of others also doing all these tasks to try and help out. To help bring back everyone that was missing. To bring back her brother. That was worth the possible awkwardness of some of these? At least, Sakura figures. As much as she does complain sometimes about her brother's teasing and pinching her food on occasion. He is her only remaining biological family in the country now.

So to that end, Sakura takes the chance when she can to do some of the assigned tasks. Including telling and asking others about her and their dreams or nightmares. Which. Well, honestly? Having everyone disappear like this, having her brother disappear like this? This pretty much is her living one of her nightmares. Not that she usually necessarily remembers them much.

Which. Still doesn't make this less conflicting? to talk about. But she tries anyway, when she spots John around taking a break for once from the tasks.]

This is....I don't usually remember much. Of my dreams or nightmares, I mean. But this is...pretty much one? I got nightmares for a bit, of what if something happened to my brother. I just didn't figure it like this.

[Sakura's someone he's gotten to know bit by bit since he moved into the city and so he doesn't mind listening at all as she explains. Granted, his expression clouds over because that's such a rough thing for a kid to be dealing with. He misses people that aren't here but they're also people he's never met. It's hard to imagine losing your family in one swoop like that.]

Has it been a while since you had nightmares like that?
