TEAM ONE EVENT LOG
READY: START. Roster: Theodore Leonhardt + Atsushi Nakajima, Augustine Sauveterre, Shinji Matou + Makoto Yuuki, Nazuna Nito + Apollo Justice, Sakutarou Oda + Howard Phillips, Carter + Mao Yata + Izumi Miyamura, Hitori Togusa + Sora Pu'uwai, Pitou Blythe + Astin Beaufort, Elizabeth Brisby + Ritsu Sakuma, Junpei Tenmyouji, Light Averly, Kiyotaka Ishida, Soujirou Katsuki + Peter Hoboken On the morning of the fourth at 9am, you'll find yourself gathering at the beach with several other volunteers. Many of you will find yourself partnered up and with a name in mind, and awaiting in front of you is a small fishing boat equipped to carry your group. A text comes through not long after, Zee's name attached. All aboard! Welcome, good morning, thanks for coming out. We've got a little journey ahead of us. Hope you like the ocean. Stepping aboard, you'll notice that the boat is equip with everything you could need for a short trip three hours south of the city: fishing poles, breakfast, life jackets, etc. In addition, you'll find a handful of flares with the Retrospec symbol stamped on them that you may want to take with you. At the end of this trip, you'll find yourself pulling into a harbor of a region known as Pesgare. ![]() Constantly overcast with the threat of rain, Pesgare is a bustling little harborside town with a wide ocean and streams leading fishermen and traders in from all parts of the world. There’s greenery and the scent of salt in the area and it’s a balmy sort of feeling the longer you linger outside. The region known as Pesgare is filled with cramped quarters and cobblestone-esque roads and it’s hard to tell who is and isn’t from the area. There are multiple languages that can be heard (including some that are absolutely not from this earth) and it’s hard to track all of the activity in the main village. Along the roads are brick buildings and wooden shacks and the general area of the town itself is only about 500 square miles. Most of the area to explore ahead is the ocean itself to other ports and islands around. Everyone in the town is friendly. Literally everyone. It’s hard to find anyone who isn’t in a jovial mood and who isn’t willing to help a neighbor or a stranger and they will be happy to chat about the places they’ve traveled or the people they’ve met along the way. Several of the stories revolve around travels around the globe from once upon a time, and there are others that speak of worlds far off and strange planets that you may never have heard of. It’s hard to tell if they’re serious stories or not though as the townspeople regale the tales and laugh all the while. It’s hard to go anywhere in the town without someone stopping to offer you a free loaf of bread or rush up to talk about how you remind them of someone. It’s busy, busy, busy. A lot of the places in the area appear to be trade posts for certain specialties. This includes weaponry, types of fish, cured meats and veggies, bakeries, books, equipment, curio wares and more. It’s all about supply and demand and barter and trade here. It’s not recommended to travel at night, so most out-of-towners are directed to the inn at the top of the hill, The Ontispan. Several stories high and easily the most recognizable building in the port, you will find that it’s near the lighthouse and the owners, an elderly couple, are more than happy to take you in. There’s plenty of room! The lodging is nice and comfortable and the rolling sea outside your window is calming. However, payment must be made in the morning. No problem, right? You must have your wallet on you, mustn’t you? But the amount due is in a currency you do not have. You’ve never even heard of it! How are you supposed to pay for something like this? It’s all about supply and demand and barter and trade. The boat you came on is nowhere in sight and none of the other fishermen will consider taking you back to the mainland while you're trying to leave without payment. Looks like you'll just have to work off your debt, now won’t you? This is the Team One Event Log! You are free to toplevel and thread as you choose on this log, but only team members may utilize this log.
Remember, your activity to qualify for your two free memories and one item is supplying at least 30 comments spread over the three objectives per group (minimum of 5 comments per objective!) with at least three members of your groups. You will not be eligible if you do not participate in all three objectives somehow, and you will not be eligible if you only stick with your preferred partner! People who are paired with partners will experience some of the following: -Telepathic connections, but only the thoughts you don’t want your partner to actually hear. You can also use this to influence your partner’s thoughts. -Color fades when you’re not cooperating, it brightens when you are. -Cause and effect. If something happens to your partner, you feel it (i.e. if your partner trips somewhere, you’ll feel the effects.) -Timers. You and your partner will have a countdown embedded somewhere (hand, foot, chest, whatever) and if you don’t complete your missions and see each other before the timer runs out, consequences occur. These are not required and you may play with these as little or as much as you want! Important links to mod toplevels are: Mod Questions, Participation Reporting, NPC questions. Please be aware you are responsible for reporting your own participation & objective completion efforts with links. You must ICly tap into the log within the first 48 hours, or you will be removed from your team. If your activity is low per objective, the moderators may reach out to you about reassignment as well. The schedule for Team One is as follows: 3RD: Objective 1 posted (9PM EST) | Threading for Location Travel | Threading for Object OneObjectives will be given in mod toplevels to this post with instructions; please check the log currently for Objective 1 to see how this will work. |
curio shop!
he's one of the first ones of their little group to the actual shop, opening the door with a little jingle of a bell. on first glance, the shop is massive, and he cranes his head back to look at what feels like kilometers worth of shelves around them. the place feels a little like a museum, actually, and nazuna cranes his head to look from left to right.
...there's gotta be a shopkeeper in here somewhere. ] Hello...? [ silence, for a moment, and then a welcome, welcome! come on back!
nazuna looks back at the rest of his companions. well? ]
no subject
They're pawing over a particularly creepy one already, rather than paying any attention at all to their attempts to find the owner, only turning their head with a blithe smile on their face to wonder, ]
Hmm? What?
[ Their tail curls into a loose question mark. ]
no subject
This place is great! I wonder where the check-out counter is?
[ He pauses to pull a jar from one shelf, turning it over in his hands as he tries to get a better look at whatever strange thing might be pickled inside. ]
...I think this is a hand.
no subject
but something about the whole shop just seems... off. it almost feels too big for the smaller size it appeared to have out front, and the only welcome seems to be some disembodied voice from somewhere among the many shelves and aisles surrounding them.
seeing the odd curios around the shop certainly isn't helping things at all. he winces at the hand astin pulls off a shelf, taking a cautious step away.) Uh... maybe we should just leave this questionable stuff alone.
(when there's no visible signs of life in the store, apollo decides (for once) to take the initiative to explore the area in front of them. examine a few suspicious items without touching them, shifting through some of the closer aisle, but making sure not to separate from the group. when he returns moments later, he's scratching his head in thought and jotting notes down in a little notebook he brought.) Uh... this is kinda weird. The aisles aren't like they would be in a normal store. They... twist and turn. There's no straight path anywhere.
no subject
nazuna's gaze flicks to apollo, watching him make his way down the path. his nose crinkles, and he looks back to their other two companions. ] Why would they do that?
[ again, for posterity: ] Hellooo? Is there anyone in here?
[ silence. there was a little open sign on the door, though... this is weird... ]
no subject
[ A lover of weird oddities, Pitou is duly offended by your skeptic behavior, ok! They are midway to putting their hands on their hips and sulking about it when they once again hear the call coming from deeper within the shelves. come on back!
In their opinion, who better to extol the virtues of all this weird junk than the junk owner themselves, right? ]
We're coming! You know this place is a wreck, so don't get impatient!
[ Who says that out loud? Pitou. Pitou also heads into the maze with a confidence that might not be due... ]
no subject
I was just looking at it...
[ Astin's head tilts a little as a voice comes to them, urging them to come back further into the store. A little weird, but not really that much weirder than stuff is already, right? Astin bounces off after Pitou without a second thought. Looking back over their shoulder towards the others. ]
You guys coming?
no subject
the disembodied voice is back, beckoning them as though they aren't already completely lost in this store, and they've all only just entered. the only real direction the voice is coming from is "back of the store", which worries apollo about just where that might lead them.
with pitou and astin both ready to trek ahead, apollo reaches out to try and stop them.) Hold it! I don't think we should just jump in there unless we have a way to get out. This place seems a lot more confusing than it looks, and we might get lost. We should think up a plan to be able to know where we've been.
(he soon begins digging through his bag, fishing around to see what sort of supplies he might have in there that could be useful. he certainly appreciates everyone's enthusiasm, he's just as interested to get looking.
but not without a plan!) Does anyone have something to leave a trail?
no subject
haunted dolls (or hallucinomemories) aside, though, nazuna waits for apollo to go through his bag, before something occurs to him. he pops the top off of his teaching bag and digs around inside... and sure enough, comes up with a plastic jar of gold glitter. ]
Would this work? [ the benefits of being a kindergarten teacher: you can never have too many craft supplies. ]

RAFTERLAND
The dusty rafters stretch above, and they reach out to heft themselves upward. Sitting jauntily with a leg on either side of the rafter, they call cheerfully, ]
This is a literal garbage heap.
Re: RAFTERLAND
badgood idea when they see it! Following after Pitou, Astin scrambles up the shelves in their week, knocking a few things off that Pitou somehow managed to miss. Once the pair are at the top, Astin exhales and leans across the rafter to take a brief breather. ]...It's kinda cool.
[ Astin is ignoring the dust that's coating them by this point. Leaning over, they peer down towards the floor, then look across the rafters. ]
At least you can move around up here, right?
PARTNER TIME
[ Pitou is already pretty blunt, anything their telepathy shares isn't going to come as that big a surprise, is it? ]
Re: PARTNER TIME
( What? I'm in good shape--! )
[ Astin's telepathic reply is just a little indignant.. That inner turmoil calms a little when they huff out a pout towards Pitou. This telepathy thing is kinda weird, but they're trying to take it in stride. In fact, they're already pushing and prodding at their limits. ]
( So if I think about butts, does that mean you also think about butts? Butts, butts, butts. Also what are we looking for up here? )
no subject
[ Wow, straight to butts? Not that Pitou doesn't have their own kind of appreciation for a nice butt, but... really? ]
( We're trying to get out of this ridiculous junk shop. )
[ And as they relay it... A timer appears at the far end of the rafters. It blinks once or twice to get their attention, but then begins to count down. They have five minutes to do... something?
One of Pitou's ears flops in a show of intrigue. ]
What is that?
no subject
[ Astin grins. Sure they're being a bit immature but you have to let loose now and then. Especially on weird adventures. Astin peers down the rafters as the timer flickers into being, then blinks. ]
...Should we go that way, maybe?
[ Propping themselves up, Astin begins to carefully scramble along the dusty rafters without waiting for Pitou to confirm that's what they should do. ]
no subject
[ And Pitou is only twenty-three as it is: not much better, but so sure of themselves and their maturity. Of which they have little, but they also don't subscribe to the identifications others might place on them... So who are they to judge.
In fact, it doesn't take them even a second to push up onto their feet, hunched over so as not to hit their head on junk and rafter beams. What, isn't this a race? And don't they need to win? ]
Why are those numbers just floating there like that?
[ They call, as they climb aggressively over a forgotten, duty, bassinet that somehow found its way up here. ]
no subject
[ Is it any surprise. Astin scrambles along the rafter basically on all fours, keeping hands and feet in contact with solid (?) wood at all times if they can. ]
I dunno! Maybe we'll find out if we get there in time?
[ How a baby grand piano got up here, Astin isn't sure. They can climb over it, though. ]

THE COAT
What did you find? Where did you find it? Gimme a lil snippet ;) ]
no subject
they're supposed to find items made of blue velvet, right? and god knows there's plenty of different things they could take it from.
time to be a big, bad niichan! sorta. ] Apochin, do you remember seeing anything blue...?
[ he has a thought of where they might be but... nazuna's not entirely sure he wants to go back and find the dolls again... ]
no subject
(but apollo takes a moment to think, glancing around at the literal maze of a curio shop this place is, and suddenly... he can't really make a case for the guy.) Then again, this guy has so much junk in here, he probably wouldn't even know if he did.
no subject
it's fine. everything is fine. ]
Well... maybe we can find scraps. Pitouchin said they could make one, right? And I don't think he'll notice if we take little pieces... [ hmmm. ] The last thing I want to do is go back over there, but...
[ his thoughts give him away, but nazuna will do his best to ignore them, putting on a bright smile. ] Let's go look over by the entrance. One of those dolls probably has a little blue velvet on her, right~?
no subject
it's hard to miss nazuna's desire to avoid the dolls they encountered near the beginning, but now with his voice in his head... it's even harder to miss. his face shifts from annoyed to concerned, especially with nazuna forcing a smile like that.
and apollo knows plenty about forced smiles.) Just making one from scraps... that could work. We'll check the dolls as a last ditch effort, okay? We'll avoid them for now.
no subject
there are a million things to look at in this place, and nazuna is not a tall man. he keeps to one side of the aisle, standing on his tiptoes and humming occasionally. ]
You know... this could probably be a lot worse. [ ever the optimist... plus, he thinks about sena's "i'm in hell" text and, yeah. ] We could be--oh! [ a pause, and then a victorious noise, as his hand clasps around a velvety soft ribbon. ]
Here, here, would this work? Look, it's pretty. [ and it is, in fact, blue! ]
no subject
but apollo is the type to examine every bit of evidence, so anytime he so much as sees something blue out of the corner of his eye, he's stopping to pick it up, see if it could be of any use.) Don't say that, then it really will get worse...
(he trails off as he notices something blue and sheen on one of the higher shelves, well out of his reach. he turns to nazuna at his exclamation, and there's a sigh of relief.) Okay, good, we're at least making progress. Hey, if I gave you a boost, could you grab the fabric up there? I think it matches.
no subject
I think so. It's close enough, right? Ready, aand~ [ and, with the boost, nazuna wobbles just a little, but successfully grabs onto the fabric and gives it a tug. it comes loose--along with a bag of white down feathers, which overturns immediately on them both. he squawks an-- Unya! [ and grabs on to the shelf. ] Dun you dare drop me!!
[ worse has arrived ]
