The city's been under siege for what feels like hours. It's only on August 3rd that you learn it's been a matter of days. Monsters begin pulling Retrospec users through portals left and right, large gaping holes in reality that spit you out in any given location around the city. However, just as you think you're finally getting away, a large blue portal opens and you're snatched up. No amount of fighting and struggling will free you and soon the pressure is too great to ignore. Darkness fills your vision and the last thing you may remember is the sound of many bat wings... i can't i'm already dead
So Dante's hugging him back, a smile crossing over his own face. He's lucky to have a friend like Yuri to help him out of binds like these.]
Yeah. Everything's fine now.
We're fine.
[Hang on, is that Yuri flirting with him? Dante blinks in surprise, but his smile softens as he realizes what's going on.
Oh, Yuri... it's a good thing the other boy's looking down, because he might see the laughter in Dante's eyes as he reaches out to cup his chin. But that laughter's gone as he tilts the blond's chin up, leaning in and closing the distance between the two of them, eyes falling shut as he kisses Yuri, gently at first, letting him get used to the sensation, and then with a bit more fervor.
Who knew?]
ZOMBIES CAN KILL, MOVIES TELL ME THIS
Two beats late, Yuri's hands come up to gently wind through Dante's hair as he kisses him back, untutored and unknowing, feeling heat on his face that's a mixture of embarrassment and anger, emotions that flip flop so fast it's a trainwreck of emotions through his chest. He's not bold enough to press for more, but he's eager seeming; his fingers curl into Dante's hair and he pushes up on his toes and his lips part, unwitting invitation.
In the back of his mind, Anya's face flashes. Someone he cares a great deal about; someone else in the tangle of his heart. In his present state of mind the image doesn't even give him pause. Love is great, right? Love is meant to be shared. With as many people as possible. With as little thought as possible. With no boundaries, no exceptions, no reservations, and frankly, no exclusivity.
Yuri Plisetsky kisses Dante like a man discovering sweet spring water after a decently long hike through a moderately winding forest. It's an indulgence, it's not necessary, but oh, it's nice. )
lumbers towards?
That hand comes back up, skimming up Yuri's side until he brushes it over his shoulder, coming to cup the back of the other boy's head as he deepens their kiss. Yuri's lips part; Dante's do as well, tongue slipping between to taste the blond further. He presses them backwards, toward the wall, but there's a sense of indulgence in his movements, an urgency that's taken tight in hand and held back for Yuri's sake--Dante won't go further than he's ready for, further than he asks.
(What's happened to that bottle of scotch? It sits forgotten on the floor, next to the abandoned headlamp. There are more important things at hand now, desire and intimacy and the sweet release that comes from escaping a horrifying situation. A prize second to what Dante's found here instead, Yuri's lips against his as the two of them linger in each others' arms.)
At the back of his mind is the knowledge that they've got work to do still, but oh, they can surely take a little time for pleasure--because that's what this is, a warmth and light that chases away all the shadows around them, a comfort in the middle of this strange hell they've found themselves in.]
... lumber faster, Timber
That is so, so not normal; so, so not how he usually exists. Trust would be the bridge in other situations; trust is what he feels now, but it's new, like a just-fledged bird, bright with promise in the midst of a dingy, dark, dusty hell they're all trying to escape.
Yuri offers no protest as he's backed up against the wall, dust disturbed as they go. It's nice, like Dante's arm had been nice, because it gives him something to brace against, something steadying and useful when he presses himself up against Dante, adding just that little thrill of friction. Oh. Oh, that's nice, isn't it? He thinks so, teeth gently touching down on either side of Dante's tongue, and then he's trying something else new, sucking and rounding the tip of Dante's tongue with his own. When he lets go, he breathes a happy little sigh against Dante's lips, eyes slitting open so he can stare coyly up at him through his lashes.
Not that he says anything. He just smiles, slow and lazy and indulgent, the two of them both lit up just by the errant light of Dante's floating ghost friend. Yuri twirls a lock of Dante's hair around one finger, hooking a leg around Dante's with a slow blink and press forward. )
nope nope nope nope nope oh my god
This is where he focuses now, planting kisses around the area before he sets to, nipping just above the bone and sucking at the skin, brushing his tongue over the area as it grows more sensitive. It's a mark he's leaving there today, proof of their time together and a memory for Yuri to take with him further into the mansion, something that will be with him even once they split up again. He hums against the other boy's body, a sense of pleasant warmth within him, only encouraged by everything else that's transpired so far.
With one final nip to freshly-marked skin, Dante pulls back just enough to look at Yuri's expression, judging whether he might go back in for another kiss.]

So he finds he likes all of this, enjoys the sensations, even as his mind slips right back from acknowledging that honest truth to examining what he doesn't like: simultaneously, the fact he's just been marked, and the fact he's been marked by someone he's not attached to in any meaningful sense.
He doesn't regret, really. There are things in his life he regrets, and there are angry responses he uses as an attack to pull the world around to how he can hopefully handle it first. Which probably shouldn't apply to making out; but when Dante pulls back to examine Yuri's expression, it isn't an inviting one anymore. Yes, Yuri can admit to himself, this has surprisingly felt good. Dante can kiss, for whatever else Yuri thinks about him. It'd been... nice? Things he hasn't thought about more than in passing; and starkly not with Dante. He honestly can't stand him more for how he mouths off, or the things he attacks on or assumes; some part of Yuri is self aware enough to know he doesn't act so differently. But he also doesn't ask, who didn't have this thing that I did as a child? Because he knows too well everyone's different circumstances, and his luck in having a Grandfather who could work and help him afford to follow through on the focused passion that has defined him the last eleven years, no, even longer. What's shaped his life.
His gaze is still a little hazy, but Yuri stiffly pulls his hands back to himself, not smiling, not... looking anything more than conflicted. It sharpens into a focus a moment later, the slow burn of an anger that will eventually flip him again, though he doesn't know that. For now he pointedly pushes Dante away, barely managing to not shove. He wants to, honestly. But he'll be honest with himself rather than pretend this is anything it wasn't. Yuri'd never been swept up with the urge to kiss anyone in any fit of passion before, but he knows he had been now, for whatever reason, and it hadn't even been bad.
He just has no interest in taking this any further. Not when he doesn't care about Dante; not when he's well aware he can divorce a rush of arousal from anything that matters. Not when anger at himself more than anything else gives him a voice again. )
Don't you ever, ( he says, teeth clenching as he keeps his voice steady: ) try to mark me again.
( He doesn't like it; doesn't like claims of ownership, let alone arbitrary ones, and the spot on his shoulder-that-isn't-his-shoulder, Dante's nice little work that had not been unpleasant in the making, if unpleasant to him in the marking, is exactly that. Arbitrary claims. Memories Yuri plans to walk away from just as he slips away from Dante, stomping back to where he sees his headlamp. He picks it up and hell, takes the scotch too, turning on heel and keeping a rein on his anger along with the part of himself disappointed in him.
He vaults the chair holding the door open, one hand planted on it, landing with a thump out in the hall. By the time his anger fully crashes over him, it's already leaving a softer Yuri in it's wake, someone whose fingers twist into the band of his headlamp and feels some niggling guilt at having just walked off with the alcohol they'd fought a curtain to what. Walk away with?
He doesn't regret walking away anymore than following the impulse to kiss Dante, when it could have been anyone. He's even calming down, thinking maybe it doesn't really matter. It's just kissing. It's too much energy to care otherwise. And the alcohol? If it's shoddy, he'll just use it to help rinse out his mouth.
He's already in better cheer by the time he's headed back down the hall, headlamp now in hand, lighting his light-stepping way as the hickey aches on his neck: foreign territory, set aside and dismissed for the time being. Even holding on to one way to feel, or one outlook, is hard. Yuri can sense that, but it's fine, it's fine.
It's too much energy to try and figure out what's strange about it anyway. )

But then Yuri speaks, and the shock is enough to send his thoughts careening in the other direction, because what the hell did he just do well he had only responded to the signals Yuri was sending him, how's a guy supposed to respond to such blatant flirtation as that why the hell is Yuri walking off with his scotch?
It's that last thought that finally spurs him into action, grabbing Brob by the arm and chasing after Yuri, vaulting over the chair himself. He doesn't call out to Yuri (there's not a doubt in his mind that Yuri would sprint away if he did), but luckily for him the other boy hasn't gone too far yet.]
Hey Yuri, hold on a moment.
[Dante doesn't reach out to touch Yuri, not after all of... that. Just what the hell had that even been? And more importantly, why had it seemed so right at the time?
He shakes his head, pushing away the thoughts and running a hand through his hair. This is awkward.]
Sorry. About all that. I don't know what happened.
Does it help if I swear I'm not harboring some secret hatecrush on you or something?
[The corner of his lip twists; ugh. That's something he wanted to think about right now...]
I'm willing to forget this ever happened if you are.

( meaning that Yuri was no less a participant, and he sure as hell isn't apologising. that he doesn't feel the urge to perpetuate it from earlier has more to do with other concerns; he keeps walking after that initial stop. )
Wouldn't matter if you did anyway. You can feel however you want. Doesn't mean I have to feel one way or the other about you.
( that's the whole problem with his freak out with Anya, isn't it? because he does care, and what she feels matters to him. it's scary thinking he could lose someone just because if he says yes, or if he says no, he might not be the one to handle it. if he weren't so dulled down at the moment, he might have thought about that more. instead, he keeps that bourbon close and turns the corner of the hall. )
Unless you feel some odd compulsion to apologise for being my ~first kiss~, then hush up about it already.
no subject
[He does feel a little bit of a compulsion to apologize for it--it wasn't a fair kiss, the two of them not in their right minds. Why the hell would he ever kiss Yuri, of all people? He'd sooner kiss Noah! (And god knows he wouldn't kiss Noah even if they were the last people left on earth.)
But hey, if Yuri's willing to play it off, then sure, he can roll with that. With some relief, Dante slips back into his usual sort of flippancy, shrugging.]
Hope it didn't disappoint, then.
Anyway, if you'd wanted a bottle of your own, you should've told me when I grabbed the first one to begin with. Now I've gotta go back and get another one.
[And this time he'll cut the curtains from the windows before he tries to take a bottle from the shelf!]
no subject
besides, currently he's flirtatious, so it's not like he's got the temper (since when his anger spiked, he slid right back into not finding it worth the effort to throw a fit about) to do much at the time being. )
Are you fishing for compliments? ( he glances back over his shoulder, huffing out a sound of amusement. ) You kiss better than you argue, that's for sure. And the alcohol is to rinse out my mouth, thanks. No offense.
no subject
After the past two weeks you're gonna need something a lot stronger than that. Don't waste decent alcohol that way. Share it with everybody else, too.
I'll catch up in a few minutes.
no subject
( he asks rhetorically, dismissing the rest of what Dante says with a wave of his hand. yeah, yeah, see you in a few whatever, Dante. Yuri is, meanwhile, unscrewing the lid so he can proceed with operation mouthwash.
on the bright side, that means the rest of the bottle is brought back for Team Save Swamp Mansion. )
no subject
Dante waves his hand to brush off the question, already turning away. Maybe he'll grab a bottle of bourbon this time, give them some options.
And then Team Save Swamp Mansion will have two bottles to
lure Malik out of the bathroom withshare amongst themselves!]
