TEAM SNOW WHITE LOG
READY: START Team Snow White roster: Davey Jacobs, Eleanor Lamb, Fang, Kasen Kanesada, Malik Ishtar, Mari Ohara, Riku, Ritsu Kageyama, Ryoji Mochizuki, Toushiro Hitsugaya, Yuri Plisetsky. The city's been under siege for what feels like hours. It's only on August 3rd that you learn it's been a matter of days. Monsters begin pulling Retrospec users through portals left and right, large gaping holes in reality that spit you out in any given location around the city. However, just as you think you're finally getting away, a large blue portal opens and you're snatched up. No amount of fighting and struggling will free you and soon the pressure is too great to ignore. Darkness fills your vision and the last thing you may remember is the sound of many bat wings... This is the Team Snow White Event Log. You are free to toplevel and thread as you choose on this log, but only team members may utilize this log. Important links to mod toplevels are: Mod Questions & Participation Reporting. Please be aware you are responsible for reporting your own participation & objective completion efforts with links; the moderators will try to keep up with threads, but as we are currently running several teams with participation, we require you to keep us up to date! Please read each of the toplevels and instructions!
The schedule for Team Snow White is as follows: 3RD: Objective 1 posted (9PM EST) | Objective 1 Part TwoObjectives will be given in mod toplevels to this post with instructions; please check the log currently for Objective 1 to see how this will work. |

a meat shieldsomeone who can do something about it. But anyway. ]Probably. Have you looked at this place? They're trying way too hard. The effort would be charming if it wasn't so dramatic and stupid.
no subject
[She turns down the right-most hallway. Got to start somewhere.] The keys, this whole "deathday" thing, the note about a "game" on the door... It's leadin' up to something, that's for sure.
no subject
Or wants one of us to die... Regardless, the point seems pretty straight forward.
no subject
[No... instant traps, or waiting monsters, or anything like that. The tall woman makes a thoughtful noise before stepping into the room.]
[She whirls around when the first book falls off the shelf, and the second; Freya stands still, weapon at the ready as more books seemingly jump off the shelves.]
no subject
Well, if they're trying to kill us that way, it really is more pathetic than I imagined.
[ He looks at the books on the floor - and he'll get to those in a moment - but first, he scans the room for valuables. Sadly it's just full of dust and hidden knowledge. ]
This is actually disappointing. I was almost expecting some sort of death trap... At least for one of the shelves to try and crush us.
no subject
[She immediately drifts over to the books that were laying open on the couch and the table—after a cursory glance at the shelves. Stable? Stable. Freya's quiet while she squints in the inadequate light.]
Guess this guy's as pompous as he sounds. This is pretty difficult stuff.
no subject
[ Then he does it. He picks up a book nearby, squinting at it in the dim light.
Then it bites him and he shrieks. Malik barely registers exactly what happened, just that there's a sharp pain in his hand and wrist and-- is he bleeding? HE'S BLEEDING. ]
no subject
[Then Freya let's out a pained cry of her own as the book she'd been inspecting leaps up and latches onto her arm.]
Shit! [The sudden cacophony of thumping and flutter means just one thing; all the books on the floor were on the move, and from the rattling on the table and the shelf, so was every single other one. She thrashes her arm to fling the book loose, and quickly takes up the spear, swatting in the direction that Malik isn't. It's not very effective.]
no subject
His edgy, abrasive facade pretty much immediately crumbles due to the onslaught. He can't fight back against this - not that he doesn't damn well try, ripping at the cover and pages of the initial book that attacked him, but there's just so many he's overwhelmed and not sure what to do. Stomping on them, kicking them, continuing to try and rip them off takes too long and, much like the way Freya is waving her spear around, is not very effective. ]
--Do you have a knife?! Anything?!
no subject
[Any reservations Freya had about using the new extension of her powers was abruptly gone. If they're going to potentially die here, she's taking these demons with her.]
Backpack! [Freya slings hers off towards Malik's feet. There's a couple of the knives from her looting in one of the smaller compartments.] Second pouch! [Removing the backpack cost her, though, when pain lanced through her now-unprotected back, like it was through her arms and legs. Freya wheels about with a swear, swinging her fists at the books, her fists now igniting with fire with every punch.]
no subject
Much better!
[ It still is no match to setting them on fire, but at least he feels... better... ??
Speaking of fire, he addresses Freya during the onslaught: ]
Hey, hey, burn mine too! I want to see them burn!
no subject
[It's getting harder and harder for her not to flinch; despite dropping smoldering books, Freya's arms are dotted with a dozen or two bites. She swings her hand, and a couple little fireballs fly over the short distance to strike two of the books by Malik's feet and one jumping for his shoulder. She immediately pivots away again, attacking the oncoming books just as vehemently as they're attacking her.] Bring it, tree pulp!
no subject
The fireballs hit, and once the little assailants fall to the ground, Malik is quick to crush their smoldering remains under his feet. He's still slower than Freya is, but then again, ripping and cutting the books brings him a sick sort of glee, and he starts to forget how much it hurts having the sharp teeth ripping into him.
Although the high won't last forever, and Malik will start barking out orders again. ]
If you just set the whole room on fire, this would go quicker!
no subject
Get this bastard off my back! [Freya couldn't quite reach it, not without opening herself up to all the other ones.]
[Please, for the love of god Malik, do not actually stab her in the back.]
no subject
Not deeply, but he drives the knife into the book to pry it off, and there's enough force that it hits Freya's skin. He doesn't notice, more concerned with ripping it off of her so he can dismantle it. ]
I thought you had fire power! This would be a non issue if you could just burn them. Burn the door down, I don't care! I'm sick of these things already!
no subject
[Freya grunts behind her teeth when she's struck, but immediately puts her back to the corner once she's clear.]
You get knocked upside the head? [There go two more books. Footing's getting kind of treacherous now.] Didn't exactly wake up goin' [She throws another tiny fireball at one she sees fluttering towards Malik, and her voice changes to a sarcastic pitch,] 'ooh, yay, magic! I'mma expert now! Whoo!'
[There really aren't many left, compared to the library they started with, but that is still Too Fucking Many more than Freya would like. In other words, more than zero.]
no subject
I'm normal! I don't know what you people are like- If I had fire power, this would be over! What's the point if you don't use it? It's power and you should exercise your control to the fullest! Or else it's useless.
no subject
[Not many left. They're easy to manage now, none of them even making it close enough to bite Freya anymore.]
no subject
[ With their numbers dwindling, Malik pulls away, so he and Freya could essentially each have one half of the room to finish clearing it out. He's adrenaline is also tapering, and he's starting to get tired, but soon, soon! The books will be vanquished, and all that will be left is ripped pages and charred remains. ]
no subject
[The tall woman doesn't say anything else as she reduces the last of them to cinders. As the last book falls, there's a conspicuous thunk from the side table.]
This is off to a great start. [It takes a bit longer for her adrenaline to fade, but damn does everything hurt.]
no subject
Does this mean we can leave now? I'm sick of this library. Then again... it's rather useless with no books. [ He kicks a small pile of ruined covers and shredded pages for emphasis. ]
Although, for a deathday party, I think that was rather tame.
no subject
Depends on what that ratbag means by deathday. Us dyin', or an anniversary of someone else. All signs so far point to us.
[She examines the coaster in her hands, trying not to get blood all over it.] Only saw a couple books before it went to hell. Somethin' about "executing wills" and imposing your own.
no subject
So it's like a suicide party? Well, that's grim.
[ He sees that she's occupied with her prize, however, and he wanders over to peek at it. ]
...I'm really not impressed with this place at all. [ THAT COASTER IS LAME!!! ]
no subject
Don't judge the place so hard, [Freya says dryly.] He's tryin' real hard.
[Freya tucks the glowing coaster into a pocket and moving back over to her discarded backpack. Wearing that wasn't going to be fun, thanks books.] Try the door. I've got one of the first aid kits; I can stitch the worst of the bites.
no subject
Anyawy, he practically snorts in response to "trying real hard." SURE, FREYA. Sure. Still, he tries the door, and lets out a breath he didn't know he had been holding when it mercifully opens. ]
Next door we should try blocking open so this doesn't happen again.
[ And he's already on his way out and across the hall. ] -- Like this one, we're already here, and nobody else is. I want to look into that one... Before I go in, anyway. I don't want to get bitten again. [ A beat, then he seems to realize he's supposed to be addressing someone else and not himself. ]
How good are you with stitches? I don't want an amateur driving a needle into my skin.
