Team Tarzan roster: Anastasia, Ikuo Ryuuzaki, Jack Kelly, Kasen Ibaraki, Keigo Asano, Kurogane, Kurt Wagner, Silver, Yamatonokami Yasusada, Yaeger, Yosuke Hanamura, Yugi Mutou.

The city's been under siege for what feels like hours. It's only on August 3rd that you learn it's been a matter of days. Monsters begin pulling Retrospec users through portals left and right, large gaping holes in reality that spit you out in any given location around the city.

However, just as you think you're finally getting away, a large blue portal opens and you're snatched up. No amount of fighting and struggling will free you and soon the pressure is too great to ignore. Darkness fills your vision and the last thing you may remember is the sound of the monkeys howling...

This is the Team Tarzan Event Log. You are free to toplevel and thread as you choose on this log, but only team members may utilize this log. Yeah, it had the orange piece in its claw. It tossed me around a bit before Jaeger was able to get it to drop the piece.

[He brushes at the front of his shirt, being careful to keep the sand away from the food as much as possible.]

I don't know what it was. When we finally got out of the room, it just collapsed back into sand. There was no internal structure to give it form. And it looked like regular sand, so I don't see how a magnetic field could have been used to give it shape...

[Sorry Anya, he's going to keep trying to explain all this nonsense with science for as long as he can.]

"Magnetic field"....

[There's a curious repeating of the world, as if trying to understand it. Maybe she's read it before or heard of it, but relearning it is something else.]

If it is not science, maybe it is magic? Or it is very very... [She pauses, fumbling on the word "advanced"] Future science? So future that it looks like magic.

Future science. Yeah... that is a possibility. The monsters from the convention were pulled from people's 'memories' so it's possible some of the stuff here is as well. And I know at least one person who has remembered some pretty advanced technology.

[And just like every time science more advanced than what should exist comes up, Tatsuo thinks of the mini-tanks from Togusa's memories.]

After all, there is plenty of ways already to fake magic with science.

[She's interrupted at the bouncywild that had tagged along with them comes bounding up again, Anya just barely bracing herself from being knocked over as Yato the monkey settles on her shoulders again. She points up at him.]

Even Yato? It is... происхождения? ["Origin" but that's a little beyond her. Breaking it down simpler:] He could be from memories?

And the lights? This place maybe?

[Tatsuo looks over at the odd monkey sitting on Anya's shoulders.]

I do remember seeing little packs of those guys at the convention center.

[Then Anya hits on an idea that Tatsuo hasn't fully considered. Until now.]

But could this entire environment... I don't know how they would do it. But if they could manufacture enough monsters to rampage through the city, surely they could manufacture this as well. Using someone's memories as a template.

Manufacture....

[Anya hums thoughtfully even as she reaches up a hand to pet the monkey absent-mindedly.]

[Tatsuo sighs and runs a hand down his face... then stops to brush the particles of sand off it.]

Maybe? I dunno... I was having this conversation about the monsters with someone back home, but I never took it to the level of the environment. I mean... this temple just doesn't see to fit. The exterior doesn't really match the interior, and I can't say for sure whether the location is even right...

[he lifts a hand in a 'i just don't know' motion]

I could very easily be wrong. But this is all too contrived.

Mm... Like a...

[She takes a moment, tilting her head to try to find the right way to express herself.]

["Mismatch" or "discrepancy" but she can't quite get access to it. Again, she's bothered that her access to google has been so thoroughly removed from her.]

Like puzzle pieces that do not.. make a right picture?

Puzzle piece, yes, that'a good way of putting it. Take a couple puzzles and mix the pieces. But even though you can fit pieces together, the picture isn't right.

[And the more he thinks about how much it just doesn't fit the more he worries. Because he's already considering the idea the memories he's been getting have been from a parallel version of himself (if only to firmly reject the idea this man has anything to do with him directly), it's not much of a stretch to suggest travel between those alternate worlds is possible.]
