TEAM TARZAN

Team Tarzan roster: Anastasia, Ikuo Ryuuzaki, Jack Kelly, Kasen Ibaraki, Keigo Asano, Kurogane, Kurt Wagner, Silver, Yamatonokami Yasusada, Yaeger, Yosuke Hanamura, Yugi Mutou.

The city's been under siege for what feels like hours. It's only on August 3rd that you learn it's been a matter of days. Monsters begin pulling Retrospec users through portals left and right, large gaping holes in reality that spit you out in any given location around the city.

However, just as you think you're finally getting away, a large blue portal opens and you're snatched up. No amount of fighting and struggling will free you and soon the pressure is too great to ignore. Darkness fills your vision and the last thing you may remember is the sound of the monkeys howling...

This is the Team Tarzan Event Log. You are free to toplevel and thread as you choose on this log, but only team members may utilize this log. Important links to mod toplevels are: Mod Questions & Participation Reporting. Please be aware you are responsible for reporting your own participation & objective completion efforts with links; the moderators will try to keep up with threads, but as we are currently running several teams with participation, we require you to keep us up to date! Please read each of the toplevels and instructions!

[Once the majority of the sand has drained out of the top half of the hourglass, Tatsuo figures that's probably good enough. That, and he really can't stand to listen to the screaming any more.]

Okay. Let's crack this open.

[Yeah, it's really creepy... Maybe it'll make for a good ghost story later on but for right now Jaeger's got no objections to shattering the bottom half of the hourglass. He does that easily, bringing the sword across it to break as much of the glass along the bottom as he can.]

[Once the glass shatters, the scream intensifies as the sand spills out. The orange piece inside the sand disappears immediately and the sand begins to swirl around in a hurricane. It soon settles in the back of the room in the form of a large, sand-formed scorpion with the orange piece in one of its pinchers and the other pointed directly at Yeager and Tatsuo.

What now, guys?]

No, of course it wouldn't be that easy.

[Tatsuo pulls out a gun and fires a shot at the scorpion. He's fairly certain it won't have an affect, but he won't know until he checks.]

[Jaeger sighs but his expression is bright when he switches his weapon to scythe form to take a swing at the scorpion. Sure, it's made of sand and this will probably do nothing useful, but you never know until you try~!]

[It is just sand, actually. The bullet zips through the sand and displaces some of it, and the scythe hacks off a chunk of the scorpion's claw. It's large and obnoxious, but not entirely unbeatable. However, now it's also pretty angry that they're putting up a fight. Its tail rears and the scorpion moves, launching balls of sand from its stinger directly at the two of them while the claw rests on the ground and the sand gravitates toward the original form to rebuild itself.]

Shit.

[Tatsuo dodges the ball of sand, feeling it fly past him. For all it's just sand, that probably would hurt if it actually hit him.]

I'll be bait. It'll pull itself together, but that gives us a window.

[He fires another shot through the scorpion.]

Hey. Sandy! Over here.

Of course it can't be that easy.

[Why can't he just hack and slash his way through things, that's so much easier!! Oh well, it looks like Tatsuo has an idea and Jaeger nods.

While Tatsuo's trying to get the scorpion's attention, Jaeger transforms his weapon back to its briefcase form and begins to move. He's going to try to circle around to the scorpion's side with the orange piece in its pincer. If he can get close enough he'll try to grab it, but for right now he's relying on Tatsuo to keep that thing's attention off of him.]

[Being hit with sand would definitely hurt and it's what the scorpion was banking on. As it is, it's hard for it to focus on both Tatsuo and Jaeger, so it focuses directly on the one outright attacking at first. It lifts its partially-formed claw to defend itself from the bullet, leaving the other pincher unguarded. It swings its body enough to try and knock both of them off their feet, but as the bullet flies through its claw a shower of sand falls over them.

It appears confused and begins to rebuild again. Its last opponent fought differently. It has no frame of reference to defend itself.]

[It's impossible for Tatsuo to jump far enough to avoid the way the scorpion is swinging its body, though he tries. He still takes a blow to the chest form the side of its tail, throwing him back a couple yards, knocking the wind out of him, and causing him to drop his gun. Wheezing, he struggles to get back up as he draws his other revolver.

The problem with bullets is even though the scorpion isn't all that affected by them, Jaeger would be, so he had to be careful where he places his shots. Still struggling to breathe properly, he shoots at the scorpion's back legs.]

[Jaeger manages to avoid the scorpion's sand attack and he finally makes it close enough to take a swipe at the orange thing its holding. Will he succeed? Will he miss completely and fall on his ass?? Who knows!!]

[Considering that Tatsuo shoots at its legs and the back half of the scorpion buckles, its pinchers raise higher before crashing back down. The pincher breaks and the orange piece becomes buried in the sand. Reeling, the scorpion attempts to gather the sand again to put itself back together. The first pincher still has a bit more to go before it's reformed. This might be the time to do some digging and run.]

[Tatsuo scrambles to his feet, grabs the gun he dropped, and puts one more bullet through the scorpion's first pincher for good measure. Then he shoves the guns back in their holsters and dives for the spot where he'd see the orange piece drop.]

Damn, where did it go...

[He digs desperately with his hands, wanting to get out of this room ASAP.]

[Jaeger's right there with him, searching through the sand for the orange piece despite how much he really doesn't like sand.]

It's got to be here somewhere, we need to hurry...!

[That scorpion's not going to stay down for long. Are we going to have any luck searching here?]

[For two dudes digging through a big pile of sand? Yeah. Yeah they're doing okay. As they work together to sift through the sand they'll uncover the orange piece and it's right there for either of them to pick up.

On the other hand, the scorpion's legs have reformed and it's ready to fight again.

Proceed?]

[Tatsuo grabs the orange piece and jumps to his feet.]

Run!

[And he makes for the door. Please don't try to stop them Mr Sand Scorpion.]

[Oh, he's absolutely booking it out of here the moment Tatsuo grabs the piece. Fighting monsters is all well and good, but fighting literal sand scorpions that he can't possibly beat isn't going to happen. Fleeing is the best course of action here, so he follows Tatsuo immediately.]

[Mr. Sand Scorpion won't stop them. In fact, the moment they're both outside of the door there's another rumble and the whole body of the scorpion collapses. Ankle-deep sand spills over the floor and the hall goes silent.

Congratulations on your victory, gentlemen. Take that piece back where it belongs.]
