The city's been under siege for what feels like hours. It's only on August 3rd that you learn it's been a matter of days. Monsters begin pulling Retrospec users through portals left and right, large gaping holes in reality that spit you out in any given location around the city.

However, just as you think you're finally getting away, a large blue portal opens and you're snatched up. No amount of fighting and struggling will free you and soon the pressure is too great to ignore. Darkness fills your vision and the last thing you may remember is the sound of the monkeys howling...

This is the Team Tarzan Event Log. You are free to toplevel and thread as you choose on this log, but only team members may utilize this log. Important links to mod toplevels are: Mod Questions & Participation Reporting. Please be aware you are responsible for reporting your own participation & objective completion efforts with links; the moderators will try to keep up with threads, but as we are currently running several teams with participation, we require you to keep us up to date! Yosuke...?

[Anya tilts her head in confusion - even pauses her dancing as he went off on his rant! Automatically, she reaches out to hold onto his hand with her free one as if that'll make him feel better. She's really not sure if she has the words available to soothe him, but at least physical touch is the same as always.]

Mm... I do not think it is trying to eat us - and that is a good thing.

[She offers a smile.]

For now, it is... удачливый? Lucky? Ah... good news? ["Fortunate" is the word she's looking for.] So if this is what is happening, Anya will be happy about it instead of something scary.

Does that... make sense?

[ Anya used Believe In the Power of Friendship.

It's very effective.

She...has a point. He hates to admit it because he can be quite stubborn when he gets himself going, but... ]

[ Yosuke thinks for a minute, looking over at the mummy who is still totally going at it. He has to admit defeat. He sighs, letting his shoulders slump. ]

I...guess you're right. It's not like I wanna be eaten or anything, but this is still really weird, you know?

[There's a moment where he's thinking that she worries - but then relaxes and gives him a brighter smile when he seems to ease. She squeezes his hand reassuringly before letting go and nodding. The monkey on her shoulders give a curious chi chi chi.]

It is weird... but развлекательный...? Ah - it is a fun kind of weird!

[and that's why she nods eagerly before looking back to the mummy and trying to do the same... dance moves....

[ There she goes...Yosuke just watches for a minute, shifting his weight awkwardly from one foot to the other. The mummy just keeps going, she's totally not bothered by it. Clearly he's the odd man out in this situation. So... ]

Welp...

[ Yosuke sighs again and rubs the back of his neck with his good hand. ]

Let's just hope it stay that way...

[ Begrudgingly (and mostly to make his point), Yosuke steps forward to join in on the, uh, party. Shimmying and all. Actually, despite his moaning and groaning he seems to pick up the moves pretty easily, even from a strange teacher like the mummy. (To be fair, he's more trying to imitate Anya than the mummy.)

There. See? He's helping!

Please don't let this be the last thing he does. ]

[Yes! Party time!

Just kidding - Anya's gotten extra skilled at mimicry and watching others has always been one of her default abilities. Now that Yosuke's come along for the party, she's gonna go ahead and be more excited about matching the mummy more exactly.

Is she singing along? She is.]

Backstreet's back, alright!

[THE IDOL IS HAVING A GOOD TIME.]

[There's a groan from the mummy that may or may not be a mimicry of "Backstreet's back, alright!" but his hand waves in the air. The radio clicks and a song cuts in. The mummy begins to dance again, but this time he's heading back for his coffin, waving Bye Bye Bye and hopping back into his home. The jumping and rattling knocks the yellow beetle piece out of the coffin and the lid slams shut again, leaving the two of them with a weird sense of achievement and pop music from the early 2000s.]

[ Are they--supposed to dance to N*SYNC now? Yosuke is two parts confused and eight parts horrified. Shake him up and you'd have one uncomfortable cocktail. Which is too bad because dancing is actually pretty fun, strange company aside.

But. You know. The mummy is gone now and...he just kind of stops. ]

That...sure just happened...

[ There's a long pause. ]

...Was that all for nothing!?

[ The Fan is still dancing. ]

[in comparison, Anya gasps softly..... she knows that song too. she will now being humming N*SYNC on the way back to camp - though she did catch the little rattling that managed to dislodge a piece?!]

Mm? I do not think...!

[and she'll go and retrieve the little piece, showing it to Yosuke]

It is... жук? A bug!

[ . . . she giggles briefly.]

Bye Bye Bye Bug....

[ Yosuke totally did not notice the scarab piece because he is too thrown by what just happened. What did just happen? Will he ever repeat this to anyone? Would they believe him? Only time will tell. It's when Anya seems to be amused by the song... ]

Huh?

[ He blinks, watching her trot back to the coffin with some sense of trepidation! But then she comes back with a piece. ]

Oh...oh! It's another piece! Okay, so we didn't embarrass ourselves for nothing. That's good.

[One day Anya will know fear - apparently not today. There's a giggle and a smile as she closes her fingers around it.]

Embarrass? Нет! Yosuke did very good, do not feel embarrass...ed. [yes, that's the word, Anya] You are good dancer. Please dance with Anya again soon.

[ Yes, clearly today is not that day. ]

You think so?

[ Under most circumstances, that would be a big compliment--actually, it is a compliment, even if he is a little preoccupied with the mummy. ]

How about with less dead things...

[ He'll motion, then, back towards the corridor. ]

C'mon, let's get outta here before it decides it wants to try Britney Spears next.

[that was probably supposed to dissuade her but she's gonna perk up as she goes to follow after Yosuke and gasps softly:]

Oops! I Did It Once More.

At least she's having a good time. He...he wants to correct her, but...

Ah well...he needs to learn to let some things go--this is one of them. They're alive, even if he will never be able to look at boybands the same way again.

At least Fanny will dance with her all the way back to the main chamber. ]
