TEAM TARZAN LOG
READY: START Team Tarzan roster: Anastasia, Ikuo Ryuuzaki, Jack Kelly, Kasen Ibaraki, Keigo Asano, Kurogane, Kurt Wagner, Silver, Yamatonokami Yasusada, Yaeger, Yosuke Hanamura, Yugi Mutou. The city's been under siege for what feels like hours. It's only on August 3rd that you learn it's been a matter of days. Monsters begin pulling Retrospec users through portals left and right, large gaping holes in reality that spit you out in any given location around the city. However, just as you think you're finally getting away, a large blue portal opens and you're snatched up. No amount of fighting and struggling will free you and soon the pressure is too great to ignore. Darkness fills your vision and the last thing you may remember is the sound of the monkeys howling... This is the Team Tarzan Event Log. You are free to toplevel and thread as you choose on this log, but only team members may utilize this log. Important links to mod toplevels are: Mod Questions & Participation Reporting. Please be aware you are responsible for reporting your own participation & objective completion efforts with links; the moderators will try to keep up with threads, but as we are currently running several teams with participation, we require you to keep us up to date! Please read each of the toplevels and instructions!
The schedule for Team Tarzan is as follows: 3RD: Objective 1 posted (9PM EST) | Objective 1 Part TwoObjectives will be given in mod toplevels to this post with instructions; please check the log currently for Objective 1 to see how this will work. |
TOMB EXPLORATION
Please note this is for OOC requests/information, not the exploration threads themselves, thank you!
Ok lets do this.
1) When we enter, are there any odd animals watching us? Have the shadow monsters that stalked Katherine come back?
2) as we walk to this center room of sorts, what have the makers of this place left behind? I'm asking about any hieroglyphs on the walls, any shattered or whole old artifacts on the ground or placed around, or anything else.
3) Any foreign inscriptions around the scarab? Anything to make clear what it symbolizes?

1.) While animals and shadows can be seen on the journey there, they seem to be avoiding the area around the actual tomb itself!
2.) There are a few shattered pots scattered in some of the hallway areas and there seems to be a lot of sand around the altar itself. In the center room there are no markings, though there's plenty to be found in the other rooms!
3.) At this time the scarab is pretty much straightforward that it needs to be filled in, though one of the other rooms may be able to help give an idea what it represents!

On the walls in the dimly lit room they will also find ancient paintings that depict the story of a young girl who was defiant to a god and thrown into a room of sand that buried her alive. What a fun, happy tale!
If they choose to break the glass to investigate the piece, there will be consequences and this will require some mod threading! Please let me know what you guys would like to do.

However, the group will soon hear the loud squeaking of bats from above them and should they look up, they'll spot hundreds and hundreds of bats in the room. Colliding into each other and bouncing off the walls, it'll take some looking but they will notice that one of the bats appears to be carrying something small and green.
These bats are hard to catch and have a tendency to dive in and out of reach! It may even feel like the bats are passing the piece around bit by bit. However, with some patience and creative thinking they may be able to pick out the one bat in 100 that has their required piece. Please let me know when they manage to catch this bat, and I'll slide in with a mod tag to round you out!

Will the two of them simply look and not touch? Or will they attempt to take something?

Sitting in the corner propped up is a coffin. However, unlike the one Yosuke encountered earlier this one's...not..quite...so empty. As Yosuke and Anya enter the room at the bottom of the cave, the coffin door will slowly swing open and a mummy will shuffle out to greet them.
It pauses, staring at the two of them for a moment before deciding they may be worthy of the true and ultimate test. Reaching over, the mummy will pull up a radio that looks very similar to the one Tatsuo, Anya and Yamato grabbed from the treehouse in the jungle. He'll tune it for a moment before a song begins to play and the mummy starts to dance.
There's the glint of something yellow in the back of the mummy's coffin, but the door creaks shut as the mummy gets his groove on. Should Anya, Yosuke, Fanny and the Bouncywild put on a good enough show and join him, he may consider giving them the piece they need.

In room 2 Silver and Jeager will find...nothing. This is definitely the appearance of an empty room that seems to stretch really, really far back. However, there is a picture of a scarab beetle alllll the way on the back wall. If they approach this beetle, they'll see the order that the pieces of colored glass are supposed to fit into the beetle on the altar!
However, now that they're all the way back they'll notice that the entrance is very far away and several things happen at once. Periodically, arrows shoot out from the wall. A crevice opens in the floor with fire that spurts up and above them a few pendulum blades swing.
Have fun getting out, guys!

When the group turns to leave, however, they will find themselves facing an uprising skeleton army that they will have to face before they can flee the cave! These skeletons can easily be taken out just by hitting them (or even having them hit each other.) The longer they stay in the room though the more they'll feel themselves begin to change. Their skin will start to become transparent and they will be able to see each other's skeletons. The message is clear: the skeletons want them to join their army, and unless they prove they're strong enough to fight they will need to submit.

Additionally, the wall will slide open to reveal a large entrance to...well, let me know if they would venture on their own or take others with them before we get that far!

but really what will we find
no subject
In all seriousness, at first when they step into the room they will find nothing. However, after about two steps into the room they will find the floor crumbling and they'll fall very, very far into the driver and passenger side of a jeep. The steering wheel is in the center and it will take both of them to operate the vehicle!
Looking waaaay up they'll see the room that they came from and with the glow of the jeep's headlights they'll find themselves in an underground catacomb-like area. There are hundreds and hundreds of openings in the walls that probably contain sarcophagi. Cobwebs are all over the walls and as they drive they'll find that their path is pretty steady.
They might want to be careful they don't fall off of the road though. That's a very, very long way down. Not to mention that if they look down in the water they'll see a friend following them and occasionally raising its head to investigate. (Photo mostly for size.) The further they drive toward the exit, the faster the snake will pursue them and the catacombs begin to shake, rocks crumbling from above and splashing into the water. They'll have to gun it and jump a few holes in the bridge, make some tight turns and outrace the snake before flying back up and out of room 4 and potentially crashing right into the altar.
Have fun, kids!
