READY: START Team Tarzan roster: Anastasia, Ikuo Ryuuzaki, Jack Kelly, Kasen Ibaraki, Keigo Asano, Kurogane, Kurt Wagner, Silver, Yamatonokami Yasusada, Yaeger, Yosuke Hanamura, Yugi Mutou. The city's been under siege for what feels like hours. It's only on August 3rd that you learn it's been a matter of days. Monsters begin pulling Retrospec users through portals left and right, large gaping holes in reality that spit you out in any given location around the city. However, just as you think you're finally getting away, a large blue portal opens and you're snatched up. No amount of fighting and struggling will free you and soon the pressure is too great to ignore. Darkness fills your vision and the last thing you may remember is the sound of the monkeys howling... This is the Team Tarzan Event Log. You are free to toplevel and thread as you choose on this log, but only team members may utilize this log. Important links to mod toplevels are: Mod Questions & Participation Reporting. Please be aware you are responsible for reporting your own participation & objective completion efforts with links; the moderators will try to keep up with threads, but as we are currently running several teams with participation, we require you to keep us up to date! BLUE (PARTIAL): Kurt, Jack and Yugi

[ Yugi was initially cautious. Though he had assured he was all right in the beginning, he was a little bit freaked out right now. This was strange, and he was really worried about Adam. Even with him around it was hard to pull him to do something, plus when the other became anxious…He shook his head and looked at the path. The only way to go was to work through this.

It was just like a game, right?

Looking at the path, it was clear he was overthinking the situation. Sure, two paths, but having so many people split off may be ill mannered. Though he did believe that dividing and conquering was a good strategy, he felt like there was far more going on here. Sadly, he wasn’t going to have the chance to continue his overthinking process as they began to head down the path.

Yugi decided to be honest, however, to his teammates. ]

If any of those monsters show up, I’m not sure how much help I could be. I mean, I can plan a good strategy, but fighting isn’t one of my strong suits.

[insantafe]

[ ...Okay, file "monsters" under something they definitely should have considered before splitting up like this. Jack doesn't even have anything to fight back with!

At least the kid's honest. Might as well give him the same courtesy. ]

Me neither. If we do come across any monsters, our best bet might be running for it. [ He glances at Kurt, skeptical. ] I don't suppose you've got anything that can stand up to them?

[digthefuzz]

[Although Kurt looks like an ordinary human, he's at least wearing an unusual spandex suit as he looks towards them.]

Well, I have a trick or two up my sleeve... This is my little secret, but I can do some teleporting. [He may have been keeping that a secret, but he may as well reveal it now that they're stuck in a life-or-death situation.]

And I got a few weird trinkets from the con, too. Any of you wanna wield a bowling ball?

[ Yugi had to agree with Jack. It looked like he'd have to rely solely on how well they could avoid trouble. Rubbing his chin, Yugi spared a glance to Kurt. ]

How does this teleportation work? Do you need to know where you're going?

As for the bowling ball...we may be able to use that later?

[ Well, as long as Yugi's got the questions covered... ]

I can take the bowling ball, if you don't want it. It's not something I'd normally use, but I think we could make it work. Maybe throw at 'em and see how they like it.

[digthefuzz]

Well, it's like - I poof, and then I'm somewhere else! I'm not sure if I need to know where I'm going, but I definitely want to make sure I don't teleport poof myself into a wall or something! [He says with a nervous laugh, and then he picks up the bowling ball to hand over to him.]

Yeah, I threw this baby at a few monsters back during the attack. It's better than nothing!

[ Yugi would say that he's not used to that kind of idea, but this whole situation is strange. ]

So if we run into monsters, we should be able to use that as enough of a distraction. Can you teleport more then one person?

[insantafe]

Lucky for you there aren't any walls around here to worry about. [ Just trees. Endless trees.

He tests the weight of the bowling ball in each hand to get a feel for it. Look out, jungle monsters, you don't stand a chance against the three of them! Or so he'd like to think. ]

Maybe there's something else out here we can improvise as weapons or something while we're looking for supplies or whatever. A big stick or something, I dunno - anything's better than being totally defenseless out here, right?

[digthefuzz]

Well, there's still stuff I wouldn't want to get stuck in! [Like those endless trees.]

Um... So far, I've only been able to do one person at a time. So it'll be good if you can both have something to defend yourselves in case I can only help one of you at a time!

[Kurt nods at Jack's suggestion.]

I like the way you're thinking. I'm down for some foraging!

[gandora]

[ Yugi nodded his agreement. It was best to make sure they could survive first, before working really hard to get out of here. No sense in pushing forward aimlessly. ]

Thank you for answering my questions!

[ Yugi smiled now, a little more warmly then he had before. ]

I'm Yugi, by the way. I wasn't sure if I had told you that already.

[digthefuzz]

No problem, man. And I'm Kurt Wagner! [He gives his own reassuring smile.]

Okay, so let's check around for a little bit and see what we can find. It'll be fine! [What's the worst that can happen?]

[insantafe]

Jack, nice to meet you.

[ Guess who just realized he also skipped the introductions oops. ]

Think there's a way we can use any of these vines, if we can get any of 'em down? They look pretty tough.

[ Don't ask him how, he's no survival expert. He doesn't even notice that the path's getting a little tougher the further they go - not yet, anyway. ]

[digthefuzz]

Yo! [He waves to Jack to acknowledge his greeting, and the he looks around.]

Um... Maybe? I'm no expert on jungles or vines, but maybe it'll be worth a shot. It could be like... a whip or something!

[Still, he starts moving a little off the path to look around some more.]

[insantafe]

[ ...Might as well follow. What else are they gonna do? They've already split the group up enough as it is. ]

I'm not gonna be picky as long as it works. And hey, since you can teleport, maybe you can find a good, sturdy branch for one of us to use?

[ It's Yugi he has in mind here - Jack doesn't like the idea of a kid walking around the jungle without some way of defending himself. He doesn't like any of this situation, but that's one they can do something about, at least. ]

[digthefuzz]

That could work. Now we're really branching out!

[He smirks at his own joke, but also to ease the tension as he moves forward.]

Okay. Now get ready to see something awesome!

[And so, with a 'bamf!' and a puff of smoke that smells of brimstone, Kurt teleports up into a nearby tree. It manages to work - this time - and he waves from the branch as he reaches around.]

[ Yugi snorted at the joke. Though choosing to remain silent, he was surprised when Kurt just poofs away like that. Even if he was expecting it, it was still a surprise. ]

It would be useful to have something to swing around. Granted, it seems like this area is pretty safe anyway.

[insantafe]

[ Meanwhile Jack, not expecting Kurt to just poof out like that, walks straight into the smoke and chokes on the smell. Shaking his head, he looks back at Yugi. ]

I do not recommend doing that.

[ After giving Kurt a quick little wave, Jack starts down the path again. He's confident that Kurt will be able to catch up if he falls behind. ]

It might be safe for now, but who knows if it'll be wherever we end up. Best to be prepared.

[ He spares Kurt a quick glance. ]

Don't suppose you see anything dangerous out there, eh? We good to go so far?

[digthefuzz]

[Kurt tries to glimpse onwards.]

It's hard to see for sure, but I don't see any signs of trouble! I'd say we're good to go.

[He then dislodges a branch, one that feels fairly light while also looking like it can hurt something, and slides down from the tree to hand it over to Yugi.]

Here you go! One express delivery!

[insantafe]

Now that's more like it, [ Jack says, nodding in approval. ] And if we find something better along the way, we can swap it out.

How's it feel, kid? Good to go?

[gandora]

[ Yugi made a face at the "kid" comment. He may be short, but he certainly wasn't a kid. Taking a swing with it, he tried to smile. ]

I'm good! But I'm 19, you know. I'm not a child.

[ At least Jack didn't think he was in grade school, or something. Someone DID do that before. ]

[digthefuzz]

Whoa, you're older than you look! [Kurt remarks with a surprised smile.]

Nice swing, though. Think that'll be enough of an arsenal for now?

[gandora]

Yes! I think that'll work out just fine. At least I hope it will.

[ Yugi seemed to feel a little bit more relieved because of this. ]

[insantafe]

Well, that's my bad, then.

[ He tips his head in acknowledgement before looking back at Kurt. ]

I'm good if you are. Let's get this show on the road, shall we?

[ And into the jungle they go?? It's harder to do this while lugging a bowling ball than he'd imagined, though. Good thing he doesn't need to climb any trees. Yet. ]

[ Yugi nodded and kept walking. ]

So...what do you guys think about how we got transported here? And those monsters appearing....?

[insantafe]

I'm less concerned that than how to get back, personally. I've got a buddy back home that can't fight his way out of a paper bag. If those monsters are still around going after people in the city, he won't stand a chance.

[ He can practically hear Davey's indignant protests already. It's hard to hold back a smile. ]

Though I'm thinking they've got to be connected somehow. Just... don't ask me about the details just yet.
