Names scroll by on the screen. and look, there goes yours! It seems like someone is manually picking and choosing from a list of every Retrospec user who didn't disappear into the void, and several names queue up.

The screen clears itself, and instead of the familiar retrospec logo, there is simply TEAM ETHANOL as a designation. the application will refuse to show anything other than a map, with one point highlighted in red. it is, of course, up to team members to decide whether or not they approach the access point.

Team Ethanol's access point is in the Recollé Graveyard. Team members will find the grave of "G. Mahoney" will move aside to reveal catacombs so long as they approach it in groups of two or more team members. Only Team Ethanol team members can see or enter the catacombs at this time. Please see the Objective 1 toplevel for more information on what they can see when they travel further down the tunnels.

This is the Team Ethanol Event Log. You are free to toplevel and thread as you choose on this log, but only team members may utilize this log. Important links to mod toplevels are: Mod Questions & Participation Reporting. Please be aware you are responsible for reporting your own participation & objective completion efforts with links; the moderators will try to keep up with threads, but as we are currently running several teams with participation, we require you to keep us up to date! Please read each of the toplevels and instructions!

[It's hard not to clap her hands over her ears when the wailing just gets louder. Hey, now, there are fewer sirens here, not more!

Even though the first bear is just crying now, she pops it in the nose with the end of her prop spear just for good measure. Now it actually has something to cry about.]

If that bear puts up a stonewall, there's no way we can reach its heart! ♥ Think you can get its shield for me? Pretty, [she takes a shot at WAILING SIREN BEAR number 3,] pretty please?

[ THE WAILING GETS LOUDER AGAIN because the meta text will not take this sass (also the monokumas are upset). the one that gets hit sobs harder and...runs away?

these. are kind of pathetic. but the shield bear stomps forward, looking to hit one of the girls with the shield?

the sword companion can break a 2nd siren, though, sure. that monokuma also starts sobbing. ]

[ Okay, that riot bear is getting a little too close for comfort, so she'll try sending out a pressure wave to push him back a little by thrusting her hand out at him, holding her palm out in a "stop" gesture. Normally she'd feel a little weird resorting to these powers, but right now that's a minor concern. ]

I can try to take him out entirely, if you can handle breaking the sirens. Hopefully it shouldn't be too difficult.

[ She's not actually all that confident about this plan (or that her ears can take any more wailing), but it's the best she's got for now. So she'll try to direct her sword companion to go at the shield bear from behind, hoping to take him by surprise and get a hit. ]

Sure--they're already more annoying than the REAL cops! [Wow, they are kind of pathetic, but at least they're trying their best.

She might not have any weapons readily available, and her staff might have only one or two more good whacks in it before it splinters entirely, but she does have at least one actually-pointy item in her arsenal.

Sobbing Monokuma #2 gets stabbed at with her travel scissors.

The fewer there are, the easier it'll be to move around and smack down the remaining sirens. She gets ready to swign her big stick in a big circular arc, just like in the movies, which she has totally always wanted to do!]

[ sobbing monokuma #2 begins to tick like a bomb? that said it just stays there sobbing, stuffing coming out of it. so you can maybe use him, who knows.

the guard monokuma, having seen the sword buddy attack one of his BROS, swings around to slam swordy the sword with his shield. ]

[ That... could have gone better. And the ticking sound is even worse... ]

Definitely more annoying. And I don't like the sound of that, either....

[ Can she push the riot bear back with her pressure wave, and then knock the ticking one into him once he's a safe distance away? If not, priority for now is getting that ticking bomb away from them as soon as possible. ]

You gotta be joking.

[Her tone is completely flat. If only bombs worked on the doors in the catacombs...Well, a few unattended graves can be blown up, too; that's no skin off her nose.

Nui can kind of see what Kaguya is doing, though it's blurred by the wailing of an intact siren. So she'll try and kite the bears that aren't at risk of exploding (yet) to a less populated area. No one wants a chain explosion.

She starts timing the ticking:] 10...9...

[ kaguya can absolutely push the riot bear back with her pressure wave, and then the ticking one! that leaves three siren bears to start trying to attack - this time one of them tries to swing his arms at nui?

8...7... ]

I'll try to keep it as far away from us as possible. With any luck, it'll take that shield one out with him.

[ She's not sure how much she can use this ability without either exhausting herself or using it up, but given the circumstances, it's worth keeping her hand outstretched to push them back any time either of them try to get any closer. Better wearing out her powers now than winding up dead.

6... 5... ]

[She really does wish she could hit harder.

Unfortunately, that swinging Monokuma absolutely pops her with its haphazardly wheeling fist, enough to pop some blood vessels in her nose and cause pain that will definitely bruise later. Even if they're wimps, getting punched isn't fun...and there will DEFINITELY BE BLOOD ON HER CLOTHES NOW YOU USELESS PIECE OF SHIT BEAR!

Adrenaline-fueled rage has her making a very aggressive choice instead of continuing her more defensive kiting. She grabs that offensive punchy bear by the arm and tries to throw it with her ... regular human being strength into a huge memorial nearby.

...4...3...]

KABOOM!!!!!!!!!!!

so that took out the bears who got lined up, leaving behind, like, three of the siren guys one of whom nui just tossed at a memorial.

that one is now crying. :( ]

[ Well. That was dangerous, and a little tiring, but at least there's only three left? And given that the last time a crying bear was left alone it turned into a timebomb, that seems like a good one to start targeting next.

So she'll send her sword companion to start hacking away at the sobbing bear. That leaves the two of them on the defensive against the remaining siren bears, but hopefully they won't be too much more of threats... ]

[The blood on her nice costume that she was totally never going to wear again is enough of a reason for Nui not to care that the bear is crying.

Never mind the, like, punching and exploding. Well, the seething rage is gone for a second, and Nui's back to her bubbly self.]

You're kind of a natural at this, dog-girl! Ooh, wait, Puppy-yama!

[She steps on the food of a Monokuma that still has its siren intact, pocket scissors akimbo. Did the Riotkuma by any chance happen to drop its shield, or did the shield get destroyed in the explosion?]

[ well, nui has time to pick up the shield - but then, something happens. you see, as the girls were fighting up in the graveyard, some other idiots were fighting down below. as nui grabs the shield, the ground opens up beneath them and they are #gone!

probably they can yell at sena for this later, or something.

when they finally stop falling, they will find they landed on something soft! it is a monokuma unit, with a siren. it seems to be dead now though.

also they are in a huge room, although the roof closes up overhead even as they watch. hopefully they have phones or some other source of light?

what do you do next, girls? ]

[ There's... definitely a fair amount of screaming on Kaguya's part when it comes to the sudden freefall, because to say that was unexpected is an understatement. But thank goodness for a few stuffed bears to break their fall.

Once she's had a second to calm down, she's immediately pulling out her phone (thankfully undamaged in the fall) so she can take a look around. ]

...Please tell me we're not trapped here.

[Those very dead bears at least did a good job cushioning the fall, but she's still banged up from the distance and the landing that she left than stuck.]

What do you think? Yeah, the sky's just pitch black. [There's edge of cruelty in her voice. She can only see the question as a stupid one, even if it's a genuine reaction.

This is the breaking point. Maybe she could have dealt with everything before this, but she's too normal for this. She lingers on the fluffy pile for a minute, and when she gets up it's to examine the statue in the back there or whatever's in its place with her phone. Better a fake person than one that can see her tearing up.]

[ the statue is enormous, many times their height. at the top of its staff, something glistens.

and look, at least nothing attacks them down here? like, they seem to be in a monster free zone for the moment, so that's super nice. ]

[ Kaguya might be quietly rolling her eyes, since it's more than obvious that they wouldn't be getting out from above even if it hadn't closed up, but nothing good will come from pointing that out.

So, instead, she'll leave the statue investigation to Nui and start walking along the walls to see if there are any exits or passageways. Surely this room must be connected to the rest of the catacombs somehow... ]

There's something up here. [Still pretty flat in tone; maybe it'll actually take her a while to recover her usual spunk this time.] I mean, it'll probably trigger a giant rolling boulder or something, but what do I know.

[Is there anywhere to climb up onto or near this statue so she could be get a better look? Or does she need to get a boost for Puppyama?

She's not about to ask for help right away either way, so she'll look for footholds or platforms first.]

[ she probably needs that boost. teamwork, nui! it doesn't look like whoever designed this statue put any way to climb it that easily, although she can try grabbing the hooks of the like, clothing folds.

kaguya will find lots of prettily drawn pictures of dragons on the walls. there does seem to be an exit opposite the statue, but it is currently locked. ]

[ She'll look over that exit closely before turning back to talk to Nui. ]

...Looks like there's a possible way out over here as well. We'll just need to find a way to open it.

[ Is the exit closed with an obvious lock requiring a key, or is it just closed without a clear way in? ]

I wonder if what you've found might be related.

[She sets the shield down momentarily and rubs her hands on her already dirty costume. What a waste of money. What a waste of everything.

After touching the sculpted folds in the statue's clothing and circling it a few times (and hopping a few times, on the opposite side of it, where Kaguya can't see), Nui groans.]

Hey, why don't you come over and lend your bear-wrangling hands so I can get up here?

[ the meta text patiently awaits this glorious display of teamwork.

but yeah it's closed without a clear way in. no worries, it will probably mysteriously open later, or something! ]

[ Then she'll leave the exit alone for now, heading over to the statue. It's... very tall. Even if she gets on her tip-toes, she's not sure she can lift Nui up enough to grab whatever's up there. ]

I could try lifting you up on my shoulders, but... is that going to be tall enough?

[She's trying so hard not to snap, showing a level of control she doesn't usually try to have.] We can only try, okay? I'm already getting hungry down here.

[Nui cranes her neck allll the way back, looking up at the just-visible shiny object in the statue's hand. Probably no details are visible from here, right?]
