WHAT: The log for the blind dates event! Awkward dates and disasters within.
WARNINGS: None!

It’s finally the fated day: Valentine’s.

Some of Recolle’s citizens might be going out, spending the day with their loved ones, while others might be sitting in bars, crying into their drinks. For a number of “lucky” ones, they might have gotten dragged into a blind date!

The Narukami twins have done their jobs. All the matches have been released. Partners have been assigned. Messages have been sent out. Now all that needs to happen are the actual dates. So, run free, everyone. The entire city is there to be their playground. They can go on their own respective dates, join up with other couples, spy on others, sabotage some, anything is fair game. After all, it’s not really fun if someone’s not crashing on another person’s party, right?

This is an open mingle post, so multiple threads can happen anywhere and everywhere. Indicate if the thread is closed if you’d like to keep it private, however! H-hey, I'm not the shy type, buddy, this is just... Whoo. Never even been this close to a car this nice.

-She eased herself into the car, still not looking entirely comfortable. There was just an overwhelming sense that she didn't belong in this. It was too nice. Too expensive.-

[As he can guess from her words, this might her first time to ride this type of vehicle. But now that he thinks about, he's wondering if she usually used public transport to go around the city.

Once they arrived at Recolle Zoo, Augustine got out of the car first in order to open the other door for May to get out.]

Here we are. And just in time, too.

[Not only he was relieved to see that there are only a few more minutes until the presentation, but also that there's a few people lined up at the ticket counter, giving them little time to spend time waiting for their tickets.]

-She seemed to be more relaxed once she was out of the car, at least. May took in a deep breath when they got in line for the tickets, letting it out, as if trying to level herself for a moment. No need to be so uncomfortable, she told herself. It's just a date.-

I wonder if they've changed the show up any since last year. I think I've managed to go every year since I was a little kid and they first build this exhibit.

If I can remember last year's Valentine's Day event, they let some of the audience to interact the sea lion as part of their presentation.

[While he didn't join last year's presentation, though, he did remember that it really was enjoyable.]

And to be honest, I once had a part-time job in this zoo when I was in high school.

No kidding, huh? Do you like animals? What do you do for a living now? -He had to have a pretty cushy job, she thought, to afford a car like that.-

Why yes. In fact, I'm teaching in Recolle University right now as a college professor of animal biology. Although, I volunteered in Recolle Animal Shelter every weekend.

[It's not like his parents' job, but he is happy to be able to teach something he loves.]

You can get a ride like that on a teacher's salary? You sure you don't have a side hustle goin' on?

Actually, my family is very wealthy and I used some of the money I've got when I became a college professor as a gift to buy the car.

But other than that, I mostly rely on my own budget and salary to pay for rent and bills.

[As their conversation continues, they are slowly getting closer to the ticket booth.]

[me_matey]

Huh. Wouldn't really know what that's like, but I don't get the "rich guy snob" vibe from you. So I guess you're cool. -May teased a bit, her smile from earlier starting to come back little by little. It was hard for her to feel completely comfortable around a guy from such a different background as her own, but... he was nice? It went a long way to helping her feel less weird.-

[Well, that's because unlike a "rich guy snob", Augustine practically lived a normal life like all the other people thanks to his kind-hearted parents, including his older brother. Not only that, he prefers to live independently rather depend on his parents to reach his dream.

Then as they are next to the ticket booth, Augustine pays for two tickets for him and May to enter the zoo and aquarium.]

Okay, shall we go in?

[me_matey]

After you, Romeo! -There she was, all back to her old self again, excited as she ever could be to see some marine life. She was still very much a child at heart.-

[He is still wondering if she called him "Romeo" because of his appearance and personality, but he smiles at the sight of May's energetic personality.

As it was only a few minutes until the sea lion presentation starts, they spend the few minutes getting some snacks and find some good seats to watch the show.]

Good, only 5 minutes to go until the show starts.

[me_matey]

-And boy, did May order a lot of snacks. Just how many calories could a woman this small put away? Then again, a closer examination showed she was pretty muscular... maybe she just had a high calorie intake? Either way, she had a lap full of popcorn and hot dogs.-

Oh man, this is gonna be sweet!

[Augustine became surprised at how many snacks she ordered. Sure, he can afford them, but he doubts that she might able to finish all of them. However, he had some second thoughts as he sees that she is pretty muscular.

As the show starts, both of them watched two sea lions not only performing tricks but also watched them showing affection to each other. It wasn't until when the trainer asks for the audience to join in. While he feels that he is not the type to join one of these things, he wonders about May's decision as he looks at her.]

[me_matey]

-May had a mouth half full of hot dog by the time he looked over, but she was clearly giving him the thumbs up. Go for it, dude! Impress her!-

[He is certainly embarrassed when he sees May giving him a thumbs up. A sign that clearly says "Go for it!". Well, he didn't want to disappoint her or the audience, so he decides to participate the presentation.

As he did, he spends his time on stage to aid the trainer to command the sea lions to do tricks. However, what's even more surprising that near the end of the presentation as Augustine tried to give the sea lions some fish before he can go back, both of them kissed him on both of his cheeks, much to the audience's shock and humor. Sure, he loves animals, but that's a little too much.

Once he returned to his seat, he was still shocked at the surprise gift those sea lion gave him. Maybe shaking him might get him out of his small shock?]

[me_matey]

-Of course May laughed perhaps the loudest in the audience, thoroughly tickled by the act. That was a new one for the V-day show, she figured. Either way, she was happy to welcome him back, though his haze was a little weird... She snapped her fingers in front of his face.-

Yo. Earth to deito. Snap out of it, homeboy.

[Thanks to May, Augustine managed to snap out of his shock and calms down after a few seconds of panic.]

Oh, sorry about that. Guess it's not everyday that I got kiss by two sea lions, huh?

[me_matey]

I could make a dirty joke here, but I think I'll pass. Plus that was super cute. You got a way with animals, buddy.

Well, I did took care of some animals for years now.

[Thank you for not bring up a dirty joke, May. Also, he didn't want to call his ability to get along with animals a gift as he just loves animals.

Once the presentation ended, Augustine then stands up from his seat in order to go to their next itinerary on their date.]

Well, how about we should see the rest of the aquarium next?

[me_matey]

-By this point, May had reduced her snackload to a single box of popcorn and was happy to join him for a walk about the exhibits. She gave an excited node, bouncing from her seat.-

Onward, yo!

[With that, he and May start to walk around the aquarium to see the fishes and sea mammals on display. As they walk, they see not only some couples holding hands, but also some families enjoying themselves with the kids stared at the fishes in awe.]

So, what kind of fish do you want to see the most, May?

[me_matey]

I dunno if they have them here anymore, and they're not a fish, but back when I was a kid, I loved seeing dolphins. But I'm not sure if they have a pool big enough for them anymore.

[megabond]

Dolphins, eh? They actually had the aquarium refurbished last year. So I think they might able to expand a bit for the dolphin exhibition.

[Considering he hasn't visited the dolphins or heard about the zoo's updates yet, it might be best for them to see for themselves.]

[me_matey]

Well if they've got'em, that's a super romantic bonus for you, buddy!

But if they don't, well, I'm still having fun.
