VALENTINE'S DAY EVENT - BLIND DATING [OPEN]

WHAT: The log for the blind dates event! Awkward dates and disasters within.
WARNINGS: None!

It’s finally the fated day: Valentine’s.

Some of Recolle’s citizens might be going out, spending the day with their loved ones, while others might be sitting in bars, crying into their drinks. For a number of “lucky” ones, they might have gotten dragged into a blind date!

The Narukami twins have done their jobs. All the matches have been released. Partners have been assigned. Messages have been sent out. Now all that needs to happen are the actual dates. So, run free, everyone. The entire city is there to be their playground. They can go on their own respective dates, join up with other couples, spy on others, sabotage some, anything is fair game. After all, it’s not really fun if someone’s not crashing on another person’s party, right?

This is an open mingle post, so multiple threads can happen anywhere and everywhere. Indicate if the thread is closed if you’d like to keep it private, however! [As he watches her swimming with the dolphins, Augustine just smiles at the fact she's living the dream. When he learned that she lived on a boat, he can guess why she wants to swim with them so bad. Heck, the dolphins liked her so much that one of them kissed her on a check. Talk about a deja-vu!

After a few minutes of swimming, the trainers then escorted her out of the pool for her to dry off with a towel as Augustine waits for her to change back to her normal outfit.]

-Her smile hadn't faded one bit by the time she came back out, her hair still damp and the jacket now wrapped at her waist. She gave him another hug when close enough, and a rewarding kiss to his cheek. Not quite first base, but he'd earned it, probably more. At the very least, he had her gratitude.-

I can't thank you enough. That was amazing!

[And he gladly accepted those rewards. He not only wanted her to live out her dream but also to make this an interesting date.]

I can say the same with you and those dolphins. I think they are starting to get attached to you.

[To prove this, he points at the dolphins as they happily cried to May.]

-May waved right back.- Thanks, guys! Let's do it again, sometime!

-She'd definitely have to focus on getting a chance to do this again. Never had something felt more right... It felt a little weird, actually. But she didn't pay too much thought to it as she turned her attention back to her date.-

They should have a new exhibition on different types of sharks and fishes. I need to see it since my colleague did mention the size of the shark he saw.

[That and he wants to study more about them for his upcoming lecture next week.]

Ooooh~ Sounds spicy! Let's go, romeo! -She loops her arms around his, much more affectionate than she had been before, but then again, she was in a still pretty stupendous mood.-

[Once May agreed to his plans, both of them head off to where the sharks are. And just as he said, different kinds of sharks are swimming in different tanks as visitors watched safely outside the glass windows.]

Marvelous! This is a rare sight to have different kinds of sharks on display in this aquarium!

[At least May isn't the only one in a stupendous mood...]

Do they all come from different seas, or something? -May loved dolphins and whales and seals and such, but sharks were kind of an alien topic for her, since Recolle's neighboring waters didn't have any native sharks.-

Yes. They are not found in the ocean near Recolle, but most of them came from oceans near different cities. For example, that Great White Shark on the right originally born in the aquarium in Mexico.

But considering they have a chance to attack humans, you can't swim with them without risking your life for it.

[He just hoped that May doesn't get some ideas about this.]

Hey now, I'm a pretty good swimmer, and I can bench 250. Don't underestimate me~! -Though she giggled, clearly not serious about wanting to get in there and wrestle a shark.-

Still, this is really cool!

[Since he doubts that will ever happen, Augustine just smiles at May's declaration, aware that she was just joking. As he did, he approaches to a hammerhead shark's tank and leans his hand against the glass window as it swim passed through him.]

Well, here's one of the sharks that I'm going to discuss for my lecture.

It's a hammerhead shark, which is known for their hammer-shaped head and they can be found in warm tropical waters, though they tend to search for cooler waters during their mass migration.

It says here on the plaque they've got this thing in their heads called an... -She really had to try with the pronunciation, and mostly gets it right.- ampullae of Lorenzini... that lets them see the electro-magnetic fields of other animals? Whoa... cool...

[Despite the pronunciation problem, Augustine is happy that she's listening more about the hammerhead shark.]

That's not all. They also use their hammer-shaped head as a weapon when it comes to hunting their prey. It even uses it to weaken the stingray before...

[He stops talking, realizing he might scare her because of the gory details.]

You don't want to know after that.

They eat'em dude. I'm not a kid, yanno. -Just short.-

Oh... I see... Sorry about that.

[Augustine just sheepishly laughs, realizing that he's on a date with someone closer to his age. Right now, he's a little embarrassed that he treated her like a little girl.]

However, while sharks still roam around the waters, some of their species are endangered of being extinct.

-At least she wasn't actually offended. She was kind of used to it, really.-

So I'm guessing some of them are here as part of the zoo's conservation efforts.

Yes. While the zoo kept some of them in captivity, they will try to do everything to prevent the shark's extinction. I'm also helping them to support their cause.

You've got a pretty big heart, dontcha? -May passed a warm smile his way, patting his shoulder.-

Well, I love all the animals, especially the dangerous ones that are nearing extinction. That's why I become a college professor of animal biology, to teach everyone more about them...

[Just when he can continue his explanation as he stares at the hammerhead shark swimming passed him again, he suddenly remembers related to it. A dragon... With a hammer-shaped snout shark fin on it's back. And despite its fearsome appearance, he remembers that he's petted it without any fear from it.

When the short memory is done, he quickly gasps in shock as he realizes that his hand is still leaning against the hammerhead shark's tank.]

[me_matey]

Whoa, hey there... You okay, man? Earth to romeo? -She waved her hand in front of his face.-

[When he regained his composure, he realizes what happened once he sees May waving her hand in front of his face.]

O-Oh... I'm sorry. I must have been distracted by the sharks.

[Yet, he is confused at what he just remembered. First, that tower that resembles the Eifel Tower in Paris, then this strange dragon that he somehow rubs it with no fear of its appearance. He wonders if it has something to do when he sees the shark in front of him since they have almost the same appearance including a dorsal fin.]

That's a word for it, I guess. You looked more like you completely deep ended on me there. Like you were about to start seizing up or something. I was kinda worried...

Don't worry, I'm fine. Maybe we should try to go to another exhibit?

[Judging by how he laughs sheepishly, he's not good at changing the subject or a bad liar.]

[me_matey]

-He's not, but... She doesn't feel like there's much to gain from pressing the matter.-

Yeah, sure. Maybe the Serengeti stuff?

Serengeti? I think those animals from that ecosystem should be at the zoo. We can come back in here later if you want.

[If May agrees to go there, they head off to the zoo. But while they are walking to their destination, he is still wondering about the creature he just remembered. He knows it's not an animal, yet he knows it somehow looks like a dragon or a shark. Yet why he remember this all of the sudden?]
