Prologue.
The liaison’s been fairly busy gathering as much information as possible, and users will notice that several maps have popped up onto their Retrospec app over the last few days. While some messages have been unanswered, he appears again on the seventh and sends a mass text to the group at large.

The boats at the docks should take you out to Pesgare with little issue. You can travel back and forth as much as you need, but just keep in mind how much oxygen you have while you dive down. I’ve got a few things set up to help you that I nabbed from someone else’s world while sorting through memories. It’s not a perfect replica but it’ll have to do. Hope you don’t mind seaweed.

Subways are up and running, but it looks like we’re only able to get to a few stops before something blocks the train itself. Still doesn’t hurt to head out and investigate the area, see what’s out there, and maybe figure out why we’re blocked.

Thanks to someone else…I’ll be out in the field on and off. I’ll try to answer my messages as best as I can, but stay sharp as always.

Z.
I.
As promised, for those interested in venturing out to Peach Beach they’ll find several boats ready and available at the docks. Emblazoned with the Retrospec symbol, these boats seem to self-navigate themselves to the outer district known as Pesgare, the little seaside town a few hours outside of the city.

Some users might know this place fairly well from previous endeavors, but today they’ll find that the tide is high and the water’s seeping in to the roads and the shops lining the streets. Unlike several months ago when the whole city was underwater, this time it seems as though something else is forcing the water outward and upward. Exploring the region itself, users will find that citizens of this region will explain that a levee used to exist and needs to be reformed around the town itself for rough weather ahead. The swell of ocean can crash over into the lower part of the city, and to protect themselves they’ll need a wall.

For those of you looking to help out Pesgare without deepdiving and disappearing into the ocean, the citizens of this region will encourage you to help them gather sandbags, create a sound structure, and work together to waterproof several of the buildings. Though the city is still standing, it’s beginning to corrode over time.

Users can help in the following ways:
-Filling sandbags
-Assisting shopkeepers with their inventory and moving items into storage
-Creating a drainage system for additional water to flow back into the ocean
-Digging trenches
-Creating a levee to block the waves from crashing into buildings
-Re-enforcing the buildings along the shoreline

Efficiency is key, Retrospecters. Be sure to use your time wisely while you’re here.
II.
At the edge of Pesgare there’s a stand. It looks similar to a lemonade stand, but sitting behind it is a german shepherd who pushes forth a plate of seaweed with his nose. Should you stand there without taking it, the dog will bark at you insistently, looking between the plate and the ocean repeatedly.

Should you listen to the dog and consume the seaweed, a burning sensation will soon take over. A thin layer weaves itself between each of your fingers and your toes, and gills begin to form over your neck as they flare out and you gasp for air. It burns and chokes you, leaving you to flounder until you make your way back to the water.

It hits you before you can even think, and it’s almost as though you’re sinking without any warning, drowning and pulled straight down to the bottom of the ocean floor. Landing on the sand, the black soot sifts beneath your feet as you find pathways spread ahead of you. Though not an exact replica, you’ll find yourself facing another version of the city of Recollé, back during a simpler time. Several of your favorite stores and buildings are missing, but the layout of Tribunal Square and Apprassage seem to be in-tact.

Swimming comes easy thanks to your new bodily changes. Paddling your way forward, users will also find they aren’t alone. Looming over several of the buildings are large creatures that wait in silence, biding their time until you come closer. Pulsating, these creatures will send out little waves in the ocean that knock you back, disorient you, and may even knock you into other buildings that begin to crumble apart. They have the ability to conduct lightning as well, and should you get too close to certain buildings (including the replica of town hall), you will find yourself shocked, immobilized, and pulled straight into their mouths if you’re not careful. Perhaps it’s a wise idea to immobilize them first.

Strangely, though they aren’t moving they seem to be guarding town hall and the museums. Users can try to outsmart them to get inside, but entering these buildings won’t prove to be much better. The heavy pressure of the ocean weighs down on you as you navigate the rooms. Inside, though they seem to match their Recollé counterparts, they may find that things aren’t always what they seem.

A series of trap doors and invisible walls appear inside these buildings, shunting you from place to place and making it increasingly difficult to move around. You may find yourself teleporting from one building to another, or falling into a trench you could not see. The currents are heavy and make swimming in the right direction difficult, swirling silt and sand everywhere.

But should they enter these buildings, users may find:
-Physical copies of several maps from various worlds.
-Abandoned scuba gear.
-Pieces that seem to be a portion of a submarine.
-Abandoned computers.
-Abandoned weaponry.
-Items with the Vanderweele family crest
-Books on the history of Recollé containing information about the city that seems to be missing from various texts elsewhere.

Dive deep and explore, citizens. Bringing some of these items back may net you an interesting answer.
III.
Back in the city of Recollé, the underground subway is now open and available for exploration once more. Unlike trains of the past that would attack or derail themselves, the new models are sleek and fully navigational, able to have maps inputted to them and take passengers outside of the city. No matter what train you board, it seems that you can select from a few separate maps to explore.

The ride itself almost seems entirely uneventful, quiet and normal despite whatever map you pick, but as the train leaves the tunnel and begins to pull away from the city itself. The outside world begins to pass you by as you come up from the underground, bypassing several buildings, trees, and stretches of land on your way out.

There are, surprisingly, thirty maps to choose from. While the maps themselves aren’t entirely indicative of what they represent, users are free to pick and choose where they would like to go. Twenty eight maps will lead to worlds that may seem familiar to several users on the app. Structured in various states of finishing ranging from a blank canvas with a few specific parts to fully-fleshed out worlds with figments of people inhabiting them (many of whom you may recognize as well), these worlds will allow users to get a taste of what life might be like should they grow beyond their horizons.

The other two maps, however, lead to one of two areas.

The first map will lead users to a version of the city of Recollé long before the project started. The buildings that exist now are in place, but certain changes are missing. People you’ve become familiar with exist as figments in this place, a projected model of a world that could be. Everything is fully functional in this city ad you’ll find replicas of all of your personal belongings right where you left them. Spend some time here if you wish for a bit of normalcy.

The second map, however, leads users to a modern yet technologically advanced city. Magic roams freely in this city and users can find areas such as banks, shopping malls, training academies, and companies that outfit all sorts of equipment including hovercrafts, robots, time machines, VR and more. Magical text books are available in this place, providing spells and enchantments for anything you could think of in the realm of light and dark magic.

Over all, it seems that this place is an advanced version of Recollé itself.

When users pick a location to stop, they may do the following:

-Explore these new areas.
-Compare and bring back resources from these mapped areas.
-Stake claim to these areas.
-Create new maps.
-Learn more about themselves, and see the world build before them as their memories line up.

Is it worth exploring? There’s only one way to find out.
IV.
Meanwhile, also in the city of Recollé, users will find that several of the doors from before have disappeared though the leylines spread further out into Recollé woods. With the imminent threat of monsters around, the city seems to be in a layer of suspense even with spring in full swing.

Everywhere you go this month, the feeling of being watched can’t be shaken. Paranoia begins to creep in, making it difficult not to worry about what’s to come. Paranoia, however, can manifest in many different forms ranging from paranoia that you’ve forgotten something important to an insistent urge that someone will sneak up on you in the middle of the night and take you away.

As the month goes on, the feeling increases as you feel something move beneath your feet, as though something’s crawling under the earth itself. Leylines pop up, and should you stand on them for too long you’ll feel yourself beginning to grow weary as if the life is being sucked right out of you. Those most effected will begin to grow pale in appearance, a lack of energy and life taking its toll.

So how does one get that energy back? Find a way to replenish by living life to the fullest, whether that’s spending time with friends and loved ones, enjoying a hobby, returning to your roots or more.

Most importantly? Users may wish to track those lines and try to find the source of where they’re coming from. Tracing them down may be wise this month.
BONUS
They say that April showers bring May flowers, but what if the flowers came early? Now on sale at various street vendors and other locations, bushels of bright poppies can be found available for anyone to take. It’s hard to resist these bright, bursting colors, but there’s something a bit…unusual about these flowers. Should you take a bundle for yourself or give them to that special someone, you’ll find yourself feeling incredibly thirsty. Drink as much as you’d like; you can’t seem to quench your thirst…and you also can’t seem to get rid of these bees and hummingbirds that begin to follow you wherever you may go. Patches of color begin to explode over exposed skin and a sweet fragrance lingers around you.

Don’t worry, it isn’t dangerous. But it’s excellent for business, isn’t it?

I want to see the state of it, yes.

[There isn't much hesitation behind it; he just...wants to know how it's doing, if it's like this or not.]
scythegun: (SERIOUS ⇝)

[personal profile] scythegun 2019-04-16 08:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course. I'll be right here with you, wherever you want to go.

[His grip tightens on Wesker's hand as if to confirm that.]

[Mm. He's still keeping pace, just...thinking.]

...While we're here, I want to see if the Ecliptic is still running. That was the train that led to the compound; it connects deep underground, in our labs beneath the city.

[The other people on the street weirdly don't seem to be paying them any mind; he doesn't recognize any of them so far, and that's probably a good thing.]

The entire city is owned by Umbrella. The police, the local government, all of it. There's an expansive network of laboratories beneath us right now.
scythegun: (HUH ⇝)

[personal profile] scythegun 2019-04-16 08:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I see.

[He's not exactly surprised by that, but he can see where it might make Wesker a bit anxious.]

Do you want to see any of that?

[It might depend on how the police station's doing, and whether the Ecliptic is running at all.]
manufactured: (014. you'll understand when i'm dead)

[personal profile] manufactured 2019-04-16 08:28 pm (UTC)(link)
The labs should be fine. We'll see about the compound.

[...]

It's possible that what I'm looking for will be in the labs and we won't need to go out there, unless you really want to see it. I'm not opposed to showing you if you want to have a look at it.

I'll admit I'm curious, but I only want to see whatever you're comfortable with showing me.

[...]

What are you looking for?
manufactured: (016. that i was looking at me)

[personal profile] manufactured 2019-04-16 08:32 pm (UTC)(link)
...A few specific people.

[personal profile] scythegun 2019-04-16 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
[Birkin is one of them, he's sure, though the others...]

Of course. We'll see if we can find them.

[If you're here to kill Spencer again he is definitely not opposed.]

Are you doing okay?

[This is a lot to take in, he's sure, so he wants to double-check.]
manufactured: (001. your world is an ashtray)

[personal profile] manufactured 2019-04-16 10:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I should be.

[It's quiet, but it seems firm enough; while he can't know for sure that Jaeger is concerned about this, after a moment he speaks up again anyway.]

There shouldn't be anyone dangerous or objectionable at the compound. It's possible Marcus might be there, but he isn't any cause for concern.

I don't remember Spencer ever having been there, at least, and I don't see why that should change now. Sergei was there for a while, but most of my memories place him in Russia; I'd assume he would be there, assuming he's anywhere at all.

[...]

The time you saw him in August, during the dreams... That was the one time I remember him being in the States. The Ecliptic derailed due to an outbreak on the train itself, the remnants were on fire. Sergei was overseeing the containment of the virus, but he was mostly there to steal our mainframe, and our research along with it.

I doubt there's much to interest him here right now.

[It's good they're on the same wavelength and Jaeger nods at that.]

I appreciate knowing. I'm glad we won't run into anyone particularly dangerous.

[He's not sure how they'd react to Wesker anyway, but it's better that there's no risk of it.]

I'm sure it'll be just fine.
manufactured: (024. this is beyond your experience)

[personal profile] manufactured 2019-04-17 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, of course.

[There are somewhat less people the further they go, and Wesker is takes to idly glancing down the side streets and alleyways they pass; he seems to see something he finds familiar down one of them, leading Jaeger down toward the next intersection.]

The police department should be on the other side of this, around the corner here.
scythegun: (REALIZE ⇝ estelle's the princess?)

[personal profile] scythegun 2019-04-17 05:20 am (UTC)(link)
Of course.

[He'll follow, naturally. He's keeping close just in case, but it does seem like Wesker's doing okay for now.]

I suppose I'll see it soon enough, but what was it like? Do you have many memories of it?
manufactured: (007. you've only spent)

[personal profile] manufactured 2019-04-17 05:24 am (UTC)(link)
I remember working there with the others; I was brought in to serve as leader of S.T.A.R.S., I believe the cover story was something about how I had paramilitary training and was being brought in from another precinct.

[...]

I don't have any bad memories there. Strange ones, perhaps, of being with the unit that I would destroy later; I worked with many people that I didn't understand, as I've told you. But it isn't anything that I remember negatively at all.
scythegun: (HUH ⇝)

[personal profile] scythegun 2019-04-17 05:32 am (UTC)(link)
I'm glad to hear that.

[No negative memories is a relief, at least...]

I'm very curious to see it... Though I have to wonder if they'll even let me back there!
manufactured: (001. your world is an ashtray)

[personal profile] manufactured 2019-04-17 05:46 am (UTC)(link)
If they see no reason to give me difficulty, you should be fine.

[He honestly doesn't know what kind of reception he'll get here, though... It's something he's trying not to think too hard about.

That said, it's visible almost immediately upon rounding the corner - a large, stately building, flanked by flags and old-fashioned streetlamps, a large sign overhead denoting the RPD; he takes a moment to collect himself, just briefly, before pulling the main doors open and entering.

The foyer is...odd, in terms of decoration; the massive reception desk at the entrance is overseen by a statue that looks like a goddess of some sort, and the entire space is large almost to the point of being ostentatious, the emblem of the police department tiled into the floor. There's an upper floor overlooking the foyer, with doors leading off to various places; perhaps most importantly, there are people here, too - all of them busy, all of them going about their day as though there's nothing wrong. Because, perhaps, there isn't.

He's quiet for a moment.]

...I didn't know all of these people personally. But there are some that I know of, some that I've seen.
scythegun: (... ⇝)

[Well this is... certainly new. He wasn't expecting a police station to look like this, but it's fascinating. He's still looking around when Wesker speaks up again, but he turns his attention back to his husband immediately.]

People who used to work here, ja? Is everything more or less as it once was?
manufactured: (005. the nature of the leeches)

[personal profile] manufactured 2019-04-17 07:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, I think so.

[It all seems familiar, anyway, this is...

...Well, whatever it is, it hardly matters for long; he kind of freezes up a little, though it's not in a way that implies something bad, just that he's probably remembered something.]

...We want to avoid the chief of police, if we can.
scythegun: (REALIZE ⇝ estelle's the princess?)

[personal profile] scythegun 2019-04-17 07:12 pm (UTC)(link)
[His grip tightens on Wesker's hand immediately, though he relaxes a bit when he realizes that it's a memory.]

I suppose now isn't really a good time to talk about it, but I'd like to know what you remembered when we have a moment.

[But yeah, let's avoid that guy - are we headed further in?]
manufactured: (014. you'll understand when i'm dead)

[personal profile] manufactured 2019-04-17 07:18 pm (UTC)(link)
...I don't know how dangerous he is, but I suspect he would upset you.

[It's okay. Come on, let's go...

A lot of the hallways here are similar to the foyer - large and oddly-decorated, with a lot of statues and art pieces strewn around; there are desks and safes and small offices scattered here and there, but generally the entire thing is just...kind of weird?]

I'm not sure why we decorated it like this.

Well, there certainly is a lot to see and take in, and it's probably pretty obvious how baffled he is.]

This isn't at all what I would have expected it to look like. Were you all very fond of art or something...?

[This is like. way too fancy to be a police station??]

A fair amount of our buildings were overdecorated in some way or another. Perhaps it's just something almost everyone from Umbrella had in common.

No, thankfully enough.
