That doesn't last long either as he hears the rest of her story. Immediately, he furrows his eyebrows and a very visible frown curves on his lips. There's a visible look of disgust on his face as he lets the thought process in his mind. ]

[ At her question he actually ponders for a moment. He's recalled a few things since their last conversation and he's mixed on what to actually talk about and he's not even sure where to begin. ]

Truthfully, I am drawing a blank. I guess one of the most interesting things that I remembered was that I never got married in my past life.

[ Which might not seem like a big deal this day and age but considering that his past life is based in Ancient China where everyone got married... it's something he's a little puzzled over. ]

[In fact, she'll latch onto his arm and leans up against him, head resting against his shoulder.]

[ The words 'that's good' causes him laugh a little. He's not even surprised by them in the slightest. Of course she would say something like that. Soon, a warm smile forms as he rests his own head against hers, melting into the touch. ]

Likewise, I'm glad that I'll be the first one to marry you as well. To make up for how our past lives ended up, I'm going to do everything to ensure that I provide you the happiest life in this timeline.

[ It's still a little surreal that they are already talking about marriage but Leon didn't mind at all. If anything, he's looking forward for when that day finally comes. ]

[Hearing him tell her that he's happy for that... that he's willing to do everything to make sure that she'd be the happiest in this timeline warms her heart. It provides relief when she's strangely terrified of what might happen in the future.

It's enough for her to relax, just for a little bit.]

[ There's a part of him that wants to be selfish and hopes that he'll always be the only one that she relies on, but he knows that it isn't right. What he wants more than anything is for her to find other people that she trusts and can talk to. ]

[There's a bit of hesitation before she says the words, a little quiet.]

[ JUST LIKE THAT it feels as though everything came to a complete halt around Leon and he's frozen from shock. He doesn't even know how to react and for a few moments, he just blankly stares off before he slowly turns his head towards her.

And he does not look happy at all. He's doing his best to calm himself down so he doesn't end up saying something to Mio that he'll regret later on down the road. Still, he can't quite how irritated he is and in the process, he accidentally raises his voice. ]

Why on earth did you tell Xiaolang?!

[And him being loud like that causes her to flinch away from him, immediately letting go of his arm and she knows that look and it definitely terrifies her to the point where she is physically wilts, reeling as panic settles in her expression, tears already starting to at the edge of her eyes.]

[Damn it, her voice is shaking and she can practically feel herself trembling already.]

My paintbrush kept on messing up and... I felt that I should tell him the truth. He said he wouldn't judge me based on what happened in my past life. I wanted to trust that. I can't- I don't have anyone else to trust, Leon...

[ He promised himself that he wouldn't get too mad but honestly, the more he lets the situation sink in, he's growing more and more irritated. Xiaolang was the last person he wanted learning about what happened, it's partly why he has yet to even talk about his own past life with his cousin. ]

[ So much for trying to tone it down. He ends up getting louder and is barely able to contain himself from full on yelling at her just in case the others in their group overhear them.

But then he sees her crying and immediately feels bad. It's enough to make him calm down and carefully listen to her words. Of course Xiaolang would say the same thing as him. Even though he doesn't like it, he can understand why she would tell him.

It's tempting to cup her cheek and wipe the tears away... but he's still feeling a little on edge and needs a short moment to cool down. So instead, he lets out a sigh and buries his face in his hands in an attempt to dissolve his anger before he says anything else that could hurt her. ]

[While there's a part of her that was to retort and say that she knows that, she finds herself just freezing up for a moment, shocked at everything and she can't help but curl herself into a ball in tears, actually moving away from him as if space would protect her.

That maybe he'll stop hurting her.

And instead of answering his question, the only thing that spills from her lips is just the same two words, repeating over and over again:]
