TEAM FOUR EVENT LOG
READY: START. Roster: Noah Isaacs + Gunther Schwarz, Gintaro Suzukaze + Elda Marker, Dave Strider + Byakuya Kirigiri, Shouto Todoroki + Akira Kurusu, Eren Jaeger + Yusuke Kitagawa, Soleil Beaufort + Vera Weisz, Alessandro Vinsmoke + Yu Narukami, Cleo Ritter + Minako Arisato, Penelope Raban + Olive Freya Yun, Orihime Inoue + Matthew Murdock, Ryouta Ono + Baren Kaiyou, Prompto Argentum + Keigo Higashino, Zaveid Taleb + Ragna Edgson, Amelia Wagner + Kasen Kaneda On the morning of the fourth at 9am, you'll find yourself gathering at the Recollé Zoo and Aquarium. Many of you will find yourself partnered up and with a name in mind, and awaiting in front of you is a large bus with the Retrospec logo on the hood. A text comes through not long after, Zee's name attached. I'm no Ms. Frazzle, but I think this bus will do the trick. Hope you packed a book or something. Upon boarding the bus you'll find that's it's equipped for a longer road trip. There are snacks, books, video game consoles, and even a few beds and bathrooms. Just as well, seeing how you're going to be traveling north of the city, traveling through the woods for about seven hours. As you travel, the sky begins to change colors and the temperature drops toward the end of your journey. Outside the window you'll see a mountain range and snow on the ground, and stars streak across the sky as you enter the beautiful region of Magatus. ![]() Permanently semi-dark with beautiful colors streaking across the sky, Magatus is filled with rivers, grass, coniferous trees and snow-capped mountains. The temperature is quite frigid, so travelers will need to bundle up! The region known as Magatus is fairly open and while there may not a huge population like Recollé, there are small clusters of buildings and homes that characters can find by exploring this region. There is roughly 1,500 square miles to cover in the area claiming to be Magatus and some parts of this region may experiences changes in weather including heavy snow, ice, and blackouts. Most of the towns are quaint and friendly though most people appear to mind their own business. If spoken to, they will explain that they’ve been enjoying their time alone and away from the hustle and bustle of city life, though it may be a little hard to know if this is actually true. Some of the younger ones will say they’ve lived here their whole life, but most will shy away from the topic of where they came from. Shops that can be found seem to range in the realm of basic general stores, hardware stores, mini foodmarts, and weaponry. The Magatus people truly live a simple life. The true nature of this region doesn’t seem to come out until nightfall, however. As the light fades and the sky darkens, the colors brighten above and the sound of wolves begin howling nonstop. Depending, you may even hear the sound of snarling and growling, quick footsteps crunching through fresh snow and irritated barking. The townspeople know better than to stay out at night when the wolves run and the shadows dance, and they would advise that anyone from out of town take cover. Too bad they won’t invite you in. You’re on your own out in the wilderness. This is the Team Four Event Log! You are free to toplevel and thread as you choose on this log, but only team members may utilize this log.
Remember, your activity to qualify for your two free memories and one item is supplying at least 30 comments spread over the three objectives per group (minimum of 5 comments per objective!) with at least three members of your groups. You will not be eligible if you do not participate in all three objectives somehow, and you will not be eligible if you only stick with your preferred partner! People who are paired with partners will experience some of the following: -Telepathic connections, but only the thoughts you don’t want your partner to actually hear. You can also use this to influence your partner’s thoughts. -Color fades when you’re not cooperating, it brightens when you are. -Cause and effect. If something happens to your partner, you feel it (i.e. if your partner trips somewhere, you’ll feel the effects.) -Timers. You and your partner will have a countdown embedded somewhere (hand, foot, chest, whatever) and if you don’t complete your missions and see each other before the timer runs out, consequences occur. These are not required and you may play with these as little or as much as you want! Important links to mod toplevels are: Mod Questions, Participation Reporting, NPC questions. Please be aware you are responsible for reporting your own participation & objective completion efforts with links. You must ICly tap into the log within the first 48 hours, or you will be removed from your team. If your activity is low per objective, the moderators may reach out to you about reassignment as well. The schedule for Team Four is as follows: Feb 3rd: Objective 1 posted (9PM EST) | Threading for Travel to Location | Threading for Objective OneObjectives will be given in mod toplevels to this post with instructions; please check the log currently for Objective 1 to see how this will work. |

. . . except someone hasn't learned his lesson since last time and Tanuki-san will be sent on a """recon""" mission to go to the dark castle, preferably bringing back something that'll give a hint about what it's like to Baren once they reunite (since Tanuki will just travel back to Baren once he gets scared off by something). He should probably be okay, being a youkai and all, but would he find anything of worth once he travels back to Baren?
EDIT: I'M AN IDIOT AND FORGOT THAT BAREN PUT A FUCKING GOPRO ON TANUKI. DOES TANUKI ALSO BRING BACK FOOTAGE
DOES TANUKI COME BACK AT ALL OH GOD

In all seriousness, while Tanuki-san goes for the dark castle what he'll bring back is a bunch of footage of what looks like steam rising everywhere. It's foggy and dense and Tanuki will have a bit of a time navigating the path! However, the last thing Tanuki will see before he inevitably scampers off is a bright, shiny blue gem twinkling in the light with a wolf's pawprint on it before there's a very, very loud roar and a flash of teeth.
In shiny castle, things are a little better! Shiny castle is up high and yet it's nice and bright inside. The ice is nearly crystal-like as the group more or less finds themselves iceskating around the halls. As they move along however they will find that the walls seem to be shifting and soon small ice critters (cw: bugs) will begin swarming from the walls and swarming the party. If a creature touches a party member, they'll find themselves beginning to fully freeze into a block of ice as the castle walls continue to shift.
They'll probably have to figure out a way to stop the onslaught of bugs and get out of the castle with all of their limbs in tact! If they don't, they will find themselves encased in the ice and the sound of footsteps echo from above them.
Are they successful in getting the hell out of dodge, or are they stuck?

As blocks of ice, she blows a cool breath of air and begins to move Zoro and Boose to another part of the castle. The dark castle continues to sit off in the distance and they may hear that same recorded roar in real time.
The ice queen disappears to another part of the castle with Zoro and Boose, bringing them to an ice-cold gallery filled with several sculptures that may or may not have once been alive! As she pushes Zoro and Boose to a new set of pedestals, she disappears momentarily to find something else in the castle.
How are they going to get themselves out of this one? Will Dave and Baren go after Zoro and Boose first, or will they venture to the other castle first to see if they can get something to help free Zoro and Boose?

point of curiosity just because i wanna know - what are the other sculptures of? animals? people? monsters?
anyway Baren and Dave are going to avoid ice lady first, because it's time to go exploring and see if there's like. i dunno. a match. flamethrower. or anything in general that could either give them answers or assist with rescue

The other sculptures are of people and animals! There's a surprising lack of monsters but yeah mostly people and animals. It's hard to tell how long they've been here as well.
I'm glad for them. Are they exploring around the actual castle area or are they heading for dark castle?

The one thing they will find in a room in the top tower is a black box with a pair of gloves in it and a grappling hook with enough line that it could reach the second castle. They may not be able to sense it, but these gloves are magical suppressors and can be used to nullify some of the ice magic in this castle and can be used to confront the ice queen. Or they could leave Zoro for a little longer and hop to castle two. What'll it be?

Okay so They can either use the grappling hook to reach the castle or risk heading back out the way they came and climbing their way up to the second castle! Unlike the first ice castle this is cold and made of black ice, dark and hard to see in and slippery beyond belief. They will have to watch their footing or they will fall! As per the GoPro video from Tanuki there's something lumbering around inside the castle that they will not be able to see right away. As they wander the halls, they will hear the footsteps and eventually see the glint of the blue gem.
On the other hand, that also means they will see the guardian of this castle who will roar and attempt to kill them before they can pull out its eye! The monster will smash the ground and attempt to destroy them, shooting icicles and hail their way. They will have to rely on skill and speed and agility to get up and grab the gem and get out of the castle.
Once there, they will have to figure out how to rescue Zoro! Let me know if they come up with a plan for that.
no subject
also they can probably get the gem with dave at least and we will be back onec we figure out how to save our bara
no subject
actually now that i'm thinking about it this might be how i get him to fall and break his arm stay tuned
ANYWAY - Baren and Dave will get the gem through some mix of Scooby Doo decoy shenanigans and Dave being an overpowered Homestuck.
As for rescuing Zoro!! Baren will probably figure out what the glove does when he tries to pet the animal ice statues as they walk along? Will these animals be friendly? Please love Baren. But in general we're thinking that's how they'll realize what it actually does. NEXT QUESTION - do they need to wear both gloves at the same time for magical suppressing nonsense or can Baren hand one off to Dave?
Next next question - what's the security on Zoro and Boose? The general gist of the plan is Dave stops time for long enough that they get down there and try to nullify the ice magic on Zoro and Boose to wake them up.
no subject
Both gloves need to be worn at once unless they can somehow figure out how to trade back and forth!
The Ice Queen doesn't know that Baren and Dave have returned to the castle so security on Zoro and Boose are pretty low. Since Dave's a dirty cheater, they can stop time and nullify the ice to get Zoro and Boose out of there. Granted, Boose has pretty heavy footsteps thanks to being a moose, so the Ice Queen will notice they're trying to run away! She will attempt to attack and shoot ice at them, but Dave freezing time or just fighting off flying icicles will help.
They'll have to run out of the castle and down into an icy canyon where a blue door waits for them to run out and back into the lodge where everyone else will eventually be returning.
no subject
do the animals follow us to the lodge
maybe there's an actual serious question coming from everyone else but sldkj
no subject
The animals are little forest creatures! So like deer, rabbits, wolves, chipmunks, etc. This place may not have always been a winter wonderland.
