TEAM FOUR EVENT LOG
READY: START. Roster: Noah Isaacs + Gunther Schwarz, Gintaro Suzukaze + Elda Marker, Dave Strider + Byakuya Kirigiri, Shouto Todoroki + Akira Kurusu, Eren Jaeger + Yusuke Kitagawa, Soleil Beaufort + Vera Weisz, Alessandro Vinsmoke + Yu Narukami, Cleo Ritter + Minako Arisato, Penelope Raban + Olive Freya Yun, Orihime Inoue + Matthew Murdock, Ryouta Ono + Baren Kaiyou, Prompto Argentum + Keigo Higashino, Zaveid Taleb + Ragna Edgson, Amelia Wagner + Kasen Kaneda On the morning of the fourth at 9am, you'll find yourself gathering at the Recollé Zoo and Aquarium. Many of you will find yourself partnered up and with a name in mind, and awaiting in front of you is a large bus with the Retrospec logo on the hood. A text comes through not long after, Zee's name attached. I'm no Ms. Frazzle, but I think this bus will do the trick. Hope you packed a book or something. Upon boarding the bus you'll find that's it's equipped for a longer road trip. There are snacks, books, video game consoles, and even a few beds and bathrooms. Just as well, seeing how you're going to be traveling north of the city, traveling through the woods for about seven hours. As you travel, the sky begins to change colors and the temperature drops toward the end of your journey. Outside the window you'll see a mountain range and snow on the ground, and stars streak across the sky as you enter the beautiful region of Magatus. ![]() Permanently semi-dark with beautiful colors streaking across the sky, Magatus is filled with rivers, grass, coniferous trees and snow-capped mountains. The temperature is quite frigid, so travelers will need to bundle up! The region known as Magatus is fairly open and while there may not a huge population like Recollé, there are small clusters of buildings and homes that characters can find by exploring this region. There is roughly 1,500 square miles to cover in the area claiming to be Magatus and some parts of this region may experiences changes in weather including heavy snow, ice, and blackouts. Most of the towns are quaint and friendly though most people appear to mind their own business. If spoken to, they will explain that they’ve been enjoying their time alone and away from the hustle and bustle of city life, though it may be a little hard to know if this is actually true. Some of the younger ones will say they’ve lived here their whole life, but most will shy away from the topic of where they came from. Shops that can be found seem to range in the realm of basic general stores, hardware stores, mini foodmarts, and weaponry. The Magatus people truly live a simple life. The true nature of this region doesn’t seem to come out until nightfall, however. As the light fades and the sky darkens, the colors brighten above and the sound of wolves begin howling nonstop. Depending, you may even hear the sound of snarling and growling, quick footsteps crunching through fresh snow and irritated barking. The townspeople know better than to stay out at night when the wolves run and the shadows dance, and they would advise that anyone from out of town take cover. Too bad they won’t invite you in. You’re on your own out in the wilderness. This is the Team Four Event Log! You are free to toplevel and thread as you choose on this log, but only team members may utilize this log.
Remember, your activity to qualify for your two free memories and one item is supplying at least 30 comments spread over the three objectives per group (minimum of 5 comments per objective!) with at least three members of your groups. You will not be eligible if you do not participate in all three objectives somehow, and you will not be eligible if you only stick with your preferred partner! People who are paired with partners will experience some of the following: -Telepathic connections, but only the thoughts you don’t want your partner to actually hear. You can also use this to influence your partner’s thoughts. -Color fades when you’re not cooperating, it brightens when you are. -Cause and effect. If something happens to your partner, you feel it (i.e. if your partner trips somewhere, you’ll feel the effects.) -Timers. You and your partner will have a countdown embedded somewhere (hand, foot, chest, whatever) and if you don’t complete your missions and see each other before the timer runs out, consequences occur. These are not required and you may play with these as little or as much as you want! Important links to mod toplevels are: Mod Questions, Participation Reporting, NPC questions. Please be aware you are responsible for reporting your own participation & objective completion efforts with links. You must ICly tap into the log within the first 48 hours, or you will be removed from your team. If your activity is low per objective, the moderators may reach out to you about reassignment as well. The schedule for Team Four is as follows: Feb 3rd: Objective 1 posted (9PM EST) | Threading for Travel to Location | Threading for Objective OneObjectives will be given in mod toplevels to this post with instructions; please check the log currently for Objective 1 to see how this will work. |

Nerves that are cemented further when what answers Hime's howl isn't any of the five out here, it's some smaller sounding animal from back in a cave on the rocks behind them. Two of the wolves glance back at there with some mild alarm, and the other three don't quite advance but hunch their shoulders, as if they're afraid the others will come closer. ]
... Huh.
... Any of you two have food on you?
no subject
Soleil ruffles through her bag, pulling out a few packages of beef jerky and, after a pause to consider, pulls out the last magic burger she got from Elliot. It may make more sense to keep this for an emergency, but this is important.]
This should work. I guess I'm going to be stuck eating that weird fish meat.
[All of her precious meats. The sacrifices she makes for the greater good...]
no subject
...Babies! Are those babies?
[ It's a strong whisper like it's a secret. But meat is a good idea. ]
Oh, I brought food too!
[ She produces a jar of peanut butter and an eggplant. ]
no subject
[ Or eggplants, for the record.
... But okay, we've got our offers, so we can set them down - no, that wouldn't be good. Marching them over's a worse idea... She frowns all the same and glances around the area a moment before she closes her eyes and then wills the small collection of to fifteen bats which has been following the three at a short distance to swarm up around them.
This, as it happens, does agitate the wolves somewhat. Two of them snarl and advance a little closer, not sure if these bats - which they can sense the magic of - are foes or not. Two more get defensively further back, towards the babies in the cave. Elda glances at her cohorts and- ]
There, there. These aren't going to hurt you guys. We aren't, either.
no subject
Don't worry. I've got Orihime under control. You guys aren't gonna get hurt.
[To show her dedication to keeping the wolves from being hurt, Soleil puts a hand on Orihime's shoulder to restrain her from going on the attack.]
Gone on, that's all for you and your babies.
no subject
...Did I howl something insulting?
[ Now she feels bad.
But, you know, dogs leave peanut butter and so does Orihime, so why wouldn't wolves like to try some too? ]
Yes, they're for your babies. They must be hungry too, aren't they?
[ One wolf seems to be brave enough, looking between its colleagues before taking a few bigger steps forward to sniff at the offering. ]
no subject
[ Because, well, in defiance of their comparatively small size, so that they (the humans) can seem less threatening, while Elda does let the one fold get closer to that particular offering, provided everyone cooperates the bats are going to go and collect the eggplant, some of the jerky, flap that over to place it in the midst of the other wolves. This control she can do without moving very much herself, the bats more or less following her mental lead.
This is a somewhat tense moment of course, the small woman's choice here perhaps speeding things up a little more than as needed, given the one's tentative step to the offering. But the fact of the matter is that she can hear over the wind in the night other wolf howls and sounds from other groups in general (not to mention she's a bit antsy to be apart from Silver) so she ends up trying to speed it up by dropping the offering in the midst of the others. ]
What the soft one said, too. For your babies.
no subject
We know what it's like to feel antsy while trying to protect our babies. But things are going to turn out okay.
[She has no idea if these wolves can understand them at all, but she hopes the feeling gets across. Elda getting anxious won't help things, but hopefully Soleil and Orihime being cheery to a fault will more than balance that out. The other howls from afar may not be helping, but hopefully these wolves are too preoccupied with the babies in the cave to concern themselves with what is going on with the other groups.
Whether they trust them group of weirdos or are desperate, the wolves start to picking at the jerky.
Not so much the eggplant.]
no subject
Seeing them go for the food at all is a relief, though. Orihime sighs, her shoulders slumping as she smiles. Good. This is good! One by one they go for the jerky, sniffing and then biting, as if to test if it's really as good as it smells. (It is.) And then they chomp down on the pieces and one by one, retreat back into the cave. ]
...Oh!
no subject
Maybe it's a pity grab, but one of them does take the eggplant. As it continues, less and less of the original group come out to the point that after a while, only one of them is out, woofing for them with some sort of message which isn't that clear.
But presumably it's not shooing them? If anything, it seems to be inviting them into the cave. ]
no subject
Well. This seems like a bad idea, but if we cared about that we wouldn't be here in the first place.
[She turns to Elda.]
Stay relaxed, okay?
[She turns to Orihime.]
Try...to be a little less relaxed. Getting too friendly and excited too fast may startle them, okay?
[And with that she casually heads to the cave, making sure to keep her eyes and ears open just in case something goes wrong.]
no subject
Soliel?
[ Welp. It looks like they'g following the wolves and there's no way Orihime is going to miss the chance to help the wolves feel more secure or not to see the baby wolves! So she looks over to Elda before trotting off behind Soliel. ]
no subject
[ So this is dumb? But he wills a few of her bats to post outside, two of them to come onto her shoulders... and she makes to follow both of them in. Actually, she should be on the lead, right? ... No, too late for that, Soliel will get in before she can manage it.
... Sigh.
Oh well, she'll speak up a little as they go past the wolf inviting them in ]
Thank you, we can work this out.
[ Whatever this is. ]
no subject
Soleil gets about ten feet from the puppies before hunching down and staying put.]
Aww, the little fellas are so hungry. What good babies. Um, does this mean mission complete? We can't exactly interrogate puppies, so I'm not sure where to go from here. They're clearly not a threat to anyone.
[Except it doesn't take very long before she notices one of the puppies getting wispy. It's only enough that she thinks the lighting is playing tricks on her eyes.]
Huh?
no subject
Orihime really wants to go say "hi" to the puppies. But she doesn't go any farther than Soliel does, partially for her own good and mostly for the good of the babies. ]
They're so cute! They just wanted food and their parents wanted to take care of them...
[ But she notices it too. The one puppy, now full, gives a little yip before it turns into smoke and disappears into a dark corner. ]
...It's gone??
no subject
[ Which they'll probably eventually get a Shiva message about but for now...
Yeah that's. One puppy gone, and another one turning wispy too. That's- ]
... They're still eating, aren't they?
[ None of the adult wolves seem to alarmed, though. ]
no subject
I know I should be, like, surprised and in awe or something, but I was hoping we'd get to play with the puppies.
[All this supernatural stuff is getting less and less surprising. Compared to playing with wolf pups, it's pretty disappointing.]
no subject
Me too...
[ Too bad it doesn't stop there. Each puppy disappears until there are none left, though they appear happy and full of food for what time they do exist. ]
Oh no! Where did they go?
[ If that wasn't bad enough, the adults start to disappear too--long, black wisps. ]
no subject
There's a rumble.
It's from further up the mountain or hill or whatever this cave is a part of, and then a loud tumbling happens. Rocks and debris roll down the hill, and positively giant pieces of stone crash into the earth just outside the cave. Precisely where the three of them had just been standing. Elda's... pretty sure she might have been able to catch them, but could she do it fast enough for none of them to be injured that's-
... That might be why they were invited in, if it somehow knew. ]
no subject
Well, uh. Good boy?
[Soleil pulls one of her very few remaining pieces of jerky and tosses it to the enormous wolf which snatches it from the air.
She still isn't quite sure what they've accomplished here, but she is positive it's important. Right? They must have done well to befriend some bizarre wolf being. She has no idea what to do from here, though.]
no subject
We could have been crushed!
[ She turns to the wolf as Soliel tosses it some jerky. ]
Thank you so much for saving us.
[ The wolf chews happily before trotting to a corner and settles itself down. ]
...Wait, that was our way out.
no subject
[ I mean there's some space, they might be able to move through it but at the same time... well, she jumped at the same time as Soliel. They could probably force through it, but... ]
We really would have been crushed.
[ So the wolf... saved them? ]
no subject
[An evil wolf bent on assaulting poor villagers probably wouldn't have bothered to goad them away from being crushed by rocks, even if he thought he could get some more snacks out of them.]
Isn't that right?
[She puts her hands on her hips and looks up at the big wolf. This is still surreal, but more exciting than scary.]
We can dig out. We can relax for a while to celebrate mission complete, right?
no subject
[ Orihime only seems too excited at the idea. ]
Yes! But can we make a fire first? It's cold...
no subject
[ Celebrate with... well, the jerky and the eggplant, I guess? Still, let's do it, settle in for the night and enjoy. ... Insofar as there is an enjoy ]
