TEAM SNOW WHITE LOG
READY: START Team Snow White roster: Davey Jacobs, Eleanor Lamb, Fang, Kasen Kanesada, Malik Ishtar, Mari Ohara, Riku, Ritsu Kageyama, Ryoji Mochizuki, Toushiro Hitsugaya, Yuri Plisetsky. The city's been under siege for what feels like hours. It's only on August 3rd that you learn it's been a matter of days. Monsters begin pulling Retrospec users through portals left and right, large gaping holes in reality that spit you out in any given location around the city. However, just as you think you're finally getting away, a large blue portal opens and you're snatched up. No amount of fighting and struggling will free you and soon the pressure is too great to ignore. Darkness fills your vision and the last thing you may remember is the sound of many bat wings... This is the Team Snow White Event Log. You are free to toplevel and thread as you choose on this log, but only team members may utilize this log. Important links to mod toplevels are: Mod Questions & Participation Reporting. Please be aware you are responsible for reporting your own participation & objective completion efforts with links; the moderators will try to keep up with threads, but as we are currently running several teams with participation, we require you to keep us up to date! Please read each of the toplevels and instructions!
The schedule for Team Snow White is as follows: 3RD: Objective 1 posted (9PM EST) | Objective 1 Part TwoObjectives will be given in mod toplevels to this post with instructions; please check the log currently for Objective 1 to see how this will work. |
exploring stuff (open)
[Freya stops by one of the pools, peering into the murky water, and starts poking around in it with a long metal dustmop handle she came through the portal with.]
[She's pushing something around, but Freya can't quite grab it before it sinks.]
Hey. Get that, will you? Or get better light.
no subject
[Eleanor steps up next to her, peering down at the water, and then pointing her flashlight at it...which mostly just turns the water to a sheen of light. Oops? She'll move it away again.]
[She sure wasn't reaching into the pool, but she might have another way...]
no subject
[It takes a moment—most of whatever she's bumping down there doesn't balance well on the rod. But Freya manages to get something with a little work.]
no subject
[A frying pan.]
...Huh.
no subject
[She looks down at the pool, and starts stabbing around in there again.] Think I felt other things down there. —there. Can you reach that?
[Eleanor's brand of telekinesis seemed different than Lucy's. She wasn't sure exactly how it worked.]
no subject
...Maybe? The water's making it hard. Never tried it before.
[She stretched out her hand again, concentrating on the spot Freya had picked out. This time, instead of grabbing at something specific, she tried to 'scoop' at the whole section, hauling up dirt and rock and who-knew-what else and dumping it all on the ground between them with a little splash of water.]
no subject
[This time, it looks like they've gotten a jumble of items. An old boot, pulled from the sludgy mud at the bottom. A long sheet-like thing was caught on it, trailing back to the water and still mostly submerged. It looked plastic-like; a tarp, maybe? And that thing caught awkwardly on the laces was—]
[Freya leans back a bit when she realizes what it is. A bone.] Christ. Well. That's reassuring.
no subject
...Is it human?
[She had no idea what a human bone should look like...]
no subject
[She eyes the water, considering.] Haven't noticed anything live down there. Either it's layin' in wait, the bones are unrelated, or this water's poisonous. Which you feel like takin' a chance on?
no subject
[Eleanor eyed the water as well, then looked over at the bone.]
I wasn't planning to drink the water either way, but...if this is a mine, there's a lot of things that could've tainted this water...
no subject
[So she does the logical thing, and sticks a few fingers in.]
We don't know how long we'll be down here. We've got to find drinkable water.
no subject
Just don't lick your fingers.
[She sounded almost amused.]
Well, if we had a fire we could try boiling it.
no subject
I know that works for organisms. Does it with mineral or chemical concerns?
no subject
[Eleanor frowned, trying to remember things she'd read online about.]
We have to try though, like you said. We have to have something to drink.
no subject
There it is. There's something in the water, alright; fingers are starting to itch like mad.
[She sighs. Water was important; they wouldn't last long without it, but...] ...How about we put this off for a little while, try to find something else? No point tryin' to get out if we're gonna drink something with... cadmium or mercury or something.
no subject
I don't have any better ideas. [She added with a faint smile and a shrug.] Maybe we'll find cleaner water as we look around.
fast forward to finding all the things?
We could try followin' the source. It might be contaminated upstream, or it might be this pool.
[Freya glances at the bone they found through the corner of her eye.] Want to see what else we can fish up, while we're here?
ALL THE THINGS!
I'm game if you are. No more putting your hand in there though, huh?
[And then she turned and started to pluck the things Freya managed to spear out, one at a top, until they had a decent pile on the ground next to them.]
/o/!
[Freya's not all that surprised when they find the other boot. There's two non-functional helmet lamps, like the ones scattered around the cavern. She is surprised to find two whole, waterlogged sleeping bags. The bone in one seemed to get there by coincidence, just like with the boot. However, when Freya finds the dead fish...]
There is no way in hell we're drinkin' this. [God knows how long that's been there.]
no subject
[Eleanor picked up the fish with her power, holding it a foot or so in front of her face.]
...What is in that water that would keep it from rotting. Ugh.
[She wrinkled her nose and then tossed it into a corner of the cave.]
no subject
[Not the point. Freya sighs, leaning back on her heels. She squints into the darkness for a few moments, then nods her head.] Hey, would you go check over there with that light of yours? Looks like the water might've run down there, once.
[The glow of the crystals was more than enough to work by for this much, so she starts unrolling and unzipping the soggy sleeping bags. She might be able to dry them.]
Who knows? If we get lucky, maybe the source is still intact.
no subject
[Water was supposed to be a good thing. Still, she nodded, following along the trail of the water with her light until she started panning around up above where it seemed like it was dribbling a bit. Higher up still, more rocks, and then...]
I think there's something up there?
[She gestured with her flashlight towards what looked like wood jutting out from between some of the rocks.]
no subject
...What kind of something? More tools? A crevice? [It's hard to see what it was exactly from where Freya was.] Something along the lines of, "yaaay, we're saved?"
[Complete with adopted sarcastic little tone. Nothing was ever that easy.]
no subject
[She was tempted to try and pull them down...]
I could maybe get them down but I can't promise that won't cause...uh...massive cave in?
no subject
[Freya frowns in thought as she wills warmth to course through her limbs. She could warm the air enough to help dry out the equipment, but it'd take a little bit to get going.]
If it was gonna cause a cave-in, you'd think the weight of the rock would break it in the first place. [Then again, physics wasn't exactly something she was well-versed in. She'd trust Eleanor's opinion over hers.] What about that power of yours? Can you get distance with that?
