The class will start with Yuuri giving a short introduction on Zumba, what the format of the class will be like, and letting everyone briefly introduce themselves (tell us your name and something about you we should know). After that comes the warm-up and then the real fun starts! Music will be playing loud, and everyone will be moving a lot, but that doesn't mean conversations can't happen (it's just not a very smart choice). Also, Yuuri will be demonstrating both low and high impact versions of the same steps so everyone can work at their own pace. If you get tired, it's totally okay to take a break or just stay in place marching! This is a no-judgment zone.
Since this is the first class, the steps will be easy to follow, so everyone can start getting the hang of things little by little.
Overall there will be around 10-12 songs, including both warm-up and cool-down (and alternating with high and low intensity). There'll also be lots of clapping and cheering after every song and at the end of the class.
tl;dr: It's going to be fun, noisy, and high energy. This is meant as a general Zumba mingle, so feel free to have prompts at any point before, during, or even after the class.

[ He trails off briefly. Yuuri thought he had his class all planned out, but he absolutely didn't think about his own introduction in advance. ]
W-Well, obviously I love dancing, it's been my passion for as long as I remember. [ But that's... probably a bit too obvious to say, huh. ] Um... other than that, I love animals and I try to volunteer at the shelter whenever I have a chance. Hopefully in the future I'll be able to adopt a dog of my own, once I have enough free time to dedicate to it.
[ There's another slightly awkward pause here. ]

[ Before the dancing starts, Yuuri explains that he'll mostly be using visual cues to signal every time there's a step change. This is because the music will probably be too loud and explaining things verbally would break the flow of the class. So in between songs, he'll take a couple of minutes to check how everyone's doing. ]
How do you feel? Was it easy to follow along? Remember it's okay to slow down or take a break if your body needs it. And more importantly, remember to stay hydrated and have fun! We're here to enjoy this!

Chloe - OTA
Chloe liked to think of herself as an athletic person, so she took the high impact steps for the most part. Admittedly, it was getting obvious after the first few songs that what she 'thought' she was able to do, and what she was actually able to do were two totally different things. Still, knowing that she was going to be sore the next day at Mass, she plowed along, taking water breaks as necessary.
She was only chatty for the first couple of songs, as she started to get into her anaerobic range and showed the effort of keeping up with the others by the fourth or fifth song, but she was still smiling through the whole thing.

She leaned heavily against the wall, her head propped up against it and downing the remains of a bottle of water perhaps a little faster than she ought. She was tired and sweaty and needed to rest after that, but it was worth it. Her quads were going to be screaming tomorrow, but it was worth it.
Hearing someone approach, she opened an eye and glanced over at them curiously. "Mmmm?"

He saw her lying against a wall and, soaked through with sweat himself, approached her with mild concern. It would probably be bad if one of Mikoto's employees died from Zumba? "Hey," he said, standing over her with hands on hips. "Chloe, right? You're not dying, are you?"

Fine. There's no going back now. He learns the moves step by step along with everyone else. He messes up here and there, but corrects himself with silent determination. As each dance comes together, he grows visibly more confident.
Because what he said in his introduction about not knowing anything about dance? A lie. A total lie. After suffering a humiliating defeat, he made a vow. A vow to be way better at dancing than Mikoto Mikoshiba in every way, at all times. YouTube videos, dance clubs, community events, hip-hop scenes, underground dance halls, he's dipped his toes into it all.
So by the time everyone is on the same page and the real Zumba is underway, Yato is dancing with flair. He takes the high-impact option and runs away with it, infusing it with an extra bouncy pop flavor that goes above and beyond what this casual beginner's class ever really wanted or needed. If you think he looks like a tryhard, it's because he is one -- but he sure doesn't care. Because he's going to win!!
Also he's drenched in sweat, so you may want to step back and not touch him, like... at all.
To the ladies and pure-looking dudes:
If you happen to catch his attention mid-dance, he'll smile and strike a cutesy pose, with V-shaped fingers over one eye and his tongue sticking out playfully. During a break, he'll approach after grabbing a much-needed towel. He'll make dance friends, sure... even if this is probably the only Zumba class he'll ever attend. ]
Dancing is pretty fun, huh!
[ To all the other dudes:
GET CRUSHED, LOSERS. If you happen to catch his attention mid-dance, Yato will look you right in the eye and smirk the most annoying smirk ever to grace this Dance!!! hall. You wanna rumble, punk? she was pleased to begin with when Yato agreed to come to zumba, but now that he's here and doing so well she's just starry-eyed. every extra bit of flair and tryhard nonsense just manages to get her to giggle and smile and pose back. this is ridiculous. why are they allowed in the same room.

[for those who are familiar with Anya dancing, they probably know that even though she's good at it - she'll often opt for the easier routines until she really feels like she can master something after practicing on her own, whether by some form of laziness or desire for comfort, who knows.
but today she chose high impact every time - and while every mistake was followed by a brief furrowing of her brows and a pout, she shook her head and tried again until she got the step down perfectly, eyes shining with a bit of pride once she did.

[Someone is definitely not ready for this so early in the morning (early for him, anyway.) Honestly, Chuuya forgot he promised Anya he'd be here and woke up to her texts-- so here he is now, tired and mildly hungover, dressed in workout clothes he threw on quickly before rushing out, hair pulled into a ponytail for once.
He keeps up well enough despite the headache-- he's athletic, if not really a dancer-- but closer to the end of the class he's pausing to take a painkiller along with the water he's drinking. This is 100% more noise than he really wanted to deal with today, and he's definitely flagging after a while.]

[Maya Aimoto is someone who, when given the chance to try something new, takes it by the horns and does her best to learn it before and during the activity.
She just a bad habit of getting distracted by something else shiny later.So she's done that, done research, and taken in a ton of videos by the time she arrives, dressed for activity and ready to work!And maybe also actually talk with some people. She may have had a hard time keeping connections before, but she's trying to change that!]

I wasn't entirely sure what to expect, but getting into the rhythm like this is definitely fun! It's almost like learning another martial art, in a way. Although I suppose that's what dancing is, at the base level. Just with less violence.

[Alicia arrives a little before ten with a small duffel bag in hand, in workout clothes that are surprisingly competent for how she otherwise presents herself: a light top and shorts, everything in a pale but not eye-searing yellow, with a broken-in but undamaged pair of sneakers. Her hair is tied back in a single tail, and while she's in a good mood and is being pleasant as always, there's a certain something in her gaze that suggests she is absolutely ready for this and is going to be working hard to knock it out of the park.
For now, though, it's a social meetup until the class starts, so she's milling around the room. The variety of people at this class is significantly wider than she would have anticipated, so when she sees someone she recognizes, she waves and strolls over to say hi. But even if she doesn't, she's been out and about over the last ten days promoting her father's new movie, starting downtown on Valentine's Day where she was in a public place more or less all day. So it's also possible (likely?) that someone will recognize her first.]

[Once the music starts, though, Alicia is going full-tilt; while this is a far cry from her usual kata and workouts, she finds herself kind of liking it. It takes a few repeats of each new step, but she becomes competent in each new step quickly, and while she's sweating she's not breathing super hard.
During and immediately after a song she's probably a bit too focused to notice much around her, but after a moment she comes back to herself and glances around to make sure everyone is holding up all right, and maybe check in with folks if she didn't quite pick up a step (or she notices they didn't).]

[When cool-down is done, Alicia lets out a breath, a smile on her face: this was actually pretty fun, and she's going to make a point to keep her Saturday mornings clear for the foreseeable future. Her towel - white and worn, with a four-leaf clover embroidered in the corner - comes out fairly quickly, given she's not entirely presentable like this, but she manages well enough. She's not in a particular hurry to leave at the moment, so she sticks around to mingle. Her opening for anyone she talks to is fairly similar:]

In retrospect perhaps (lawl), it probably isn't that surprising. Awareness of the people around you, control over your body and your movements, pacing your energy to last--they're all things that someone of his, erm, inclinations is used to, and quite good at. Dancing is not like fighting, but fighting can certainly be like dancing.
(Arguably "zumba" doesn't really count as dancing, but hey, it's the thought that counts.)
So Yamato will not be trampling on people's feet, or smacking them in the face on accident. He will, however, be extremely high energy--maybe even more that Yuuri really wants or needs for this beginner class... do you need someone else to get you pumped up? He's here for you. Do you wanna duke it out to be Zumba Champion? WELL BUCKLE UP BUTTERCUP BECAUSE HE'S GONNA WIN ZUMBA COME FIGHT HIM]

[But despite his wild, competitive, and vaguely dangerous energy, Yamato's actually paying attention to the rest of the class, and keeping an eye out for anyone who might be struggling. One way or another, he'll zumba his way on over, taking a break to smile at you encouragingly.]

Normally he would have given a much more upbeat and a little more involved introduction than his name and profession, but it is what it is.
He's done athletic stuff before, though he has not told many people in Recolle that he practiced martial arts on the highest level until he moved from Japan at 19. He's still fit though, and has absolutely no problems with warmups and following along with the zumba. And eventually, he puts aside his thoughts and focuses on the zumba and then it's pretty fun. ]
