It seems like someone is manually picking and choosing from a list of every Retrospec user who didn't disappear into the void, and several names queue up. > initialize support team CONFIRMED. The screen clears itself, and instead of the familiar retrospec logo, there is simply TEAM ETHANOL as a designation. the application will refuse to show anything other than a map, with one point highlighted in red. it is, of course, up to team members to decide whether or not they approach the access point. Team Ethanol's access point is in the Recollé Graveyard. Team members will find the grave of "G. Mahoney" will move aside to reveal catacombs so long as they approach it in groups of two or more team members. Only Team Ethanol team members can see or enter the catacombs at this time. Please see the Objective 1 toplevel for more information on what they can see when they travel further down the tunnels. This is the Team Ethanol Event Log. You are free to toplevel and thread as you choose on this log, but only team members may utilize this log. Important links to mod toplevels are: Mod Questions & Participation Reporting. [The scorpion doesn't appreciate you trying to hurt its claws, Zaveid, so he swipes back at your sword in frustration.

Vera, meanwhile, has decided the best way to help is to hurl rocks at the monster's head in hopes of distracting it. It works, if only for a moment, as the scorpion turns to knock the heiress away with its tail.]

[The scorpion nearly succeeds in knocking the sword out of Zaveid's hands. The only thing stopping it from succeeding is Zaveid leaping out of the way at the last moment.]

This thing has gotta have a weakness!

[He moves quickly, trying to help Vera up and out of the way, assuming she doesn't bat his hand out of the way.]

[Even Vera isn't proud enough to accept a hand in a situation like this, not that it will save Zaveid from her complaining.]

What are you doing helping me? You should be hitting that stupid bug even harder!

[And that little outburst definitely gets the bug's attention. This girl is positively seeping with negative emotions and that just sounds oh so delicious right now. Enjoy another claw coming your way!]

Calm down!

[Does panic count as a negative emotion? Because beside that, Zaveid is probably not emitting much in the way of negative emotion. He faces the giant bug, trying to block the claw, glaring at it.

He'd really like to have the powers to shrink the damn thing down to a normal ability.]

You got any ideas of weakness that a gigantic scorpion might have?

[Unfortunately for both of them, panic is very much a negative emotion, and our new scorpion friend is far too interested in it to leave them alone at this rate.]

Squish it with something! It's a stupid bug!

[She slashes at the monster's pincer with the edge of her rapier, but it does nothing against it's sturdy armor. Still, it's enough to get it's attention off of Zaveid for the moment.]

Time for Plan B, then!

[Because it really doesn't seem like trying to stab the thing is going to do him any good, so Zaveid does the next best thing he can think of-- he takes a big flying leap, and lands on the scorpion's back.]

Yippee-ki-yay, Stingy!

[Vera is gobsmacked that this idiot would try to ride a scorpion. It's so ridiculous that she actually forgets her life is in danger right now.]

Are you actually insane?

[The scorpion, meanwhile, is pretty upset at the living hat now atop him. Try as he might, he can't reach him with his claws, so he does the next best thing by trying to swipe him off with the tip of his tail.]

I've got this!

[He totally doesn't, but that doesn't stop him from trying to dodge the swipe of the scorpion tail. It doesn't look like the sword is going to be of much use here, but he does try and block and further swipes with the sword.]
