Names scroll by on the screen. and look, there goes yours! It seems like someone is manually picking and choosing from a list of every Retrospec user who didn't disappear into the void, and several names queue up.

The screen clears itself, and instead of the familiar retrospec logo, there is simply TEAM ETHANOL as a designation. the application will refuse to show anything other than a map, with one point highlighted in red. it is, of course, up to team members to decide whether or not they approach the access point.

Team Ethanol's access point is in the Recollé Graveyard. Team members will find the grave of "G. Mahoney" will move aside to reveal catacombs so long as they approach it in groups of two or more team members. Only Team Ethanol team members can see or enter the catacombs at this time. Please see the Objective 1 toplevel for more information on what they can see when they travel further down the tunnels.

This is the Team Ethanol Event Log. You are free to toplevel and thread as you choose on this log, but only team members may utilize this log. Important links to mod toplevels are: Mod Questions & Participation Reporting. Please be aware you are responsible for reporting your own participation & objective completion efforts with links; the moderators will try to keep up with threads, but as we are currently running several teams with participation, we require you to keep us up to date! Please read each of the toplevels and instructions!

The schedule for Team Ethanol is as follows:

Objectives will be given in mod toplevels to this post with instructions; please check the log currently for Objective 1 to see how this will work. NPC interactions will be rnged from your team roster once per week, and toplevels for those will also be posted, although all team members can hear/see these interactions!

[The golem lurches forward, taking a clumsy backhanded swing at her, attention definitely diverted. It's other hand moves after the nearest thing that's moving, which happens to be the sword...reaching up to swat at it.

Yukiko stands back out of it's immediate reach, closing her eyes in concentration. This is...something she remembered doing, and she has a sense that it's possible again, but...as with most first times for anything, it's not immediate.]

[ She rolls out of the way quickly, wincing a little as she hits the ground more forcefully than she'd like in her hurry to avoid the hit. But she has to shake it off and keep moving, letting out a shout to keep the golem's interest: ]

Over here!

[ Her sword companion, meanwhile, is probably more than a little dazed from the last hit. That means she'll just have to keep running around and shouting for now, buying as much time as she can, and let him recover before attempting another strike. ]

[The monster lurches forward again, swinging, but Yukiko's spell hits it, and some of the force of the attack seems to drain away. Almost like it's punching through jello. Still enough to hurt, but severely cut.

A second spell begins taking shape in her head, this one...a little different. Designed to cull it's defense against fire. Slow, steady motions of her Persona's hand start it building and Yukiko grins.]

Okay! Almost ready. Then we can really deal with this thing.

[ Try as she might to avoid the strike entirely, she manages to get clipped in the side all the same. Which definitely hurts (she's pretty sure she'll have a nasty bruise for weeks, if nothing else), but she's probably fortunate that it's not any worse. Thankfully, it sounds like she doesn't have to keep up with the distractions too much longer. ]

Understood. Do your best.

[ Gritting her teeth, she'll continue to run circles around the golem, doing her best to keep its focus from shifting away. Her sword friend, now mostly recovered, rears up for another swing at the thing's head as well - to absorb the hit, or to land a strike; either works. ]

[The strike rings out hard against the monster's head, stone chips spraying everywhere. And the spell flashes across the room, stripping away it's resistances and giving Yukiko a chance to strike.]

Okay! Now!

[Yukiko's hands work in more familiar gestures, lances of fire burrowing into the golem's rocky hide where Kaguya had hit it, heat worming inside, burning and melting rock.]

Again! Go for the knees if you can. Maybe we can hamstring it.

[ Thankfully, it sounds like Yukiko's managed to complete whatever she was working on, so she won't have to play the distraction any longer - just continue striking at the thing until it falls. So she'll quickly work on putting some distance between herself and the golem, leaving her sword companion to continue the fight. ]

All right... hopefully we can bring it down.

[ The sword strikes out behind the golem's knees, trying to land a solid hit. If they strike hard enough here, maybe they can knock him down on the ground, where he'll be somewhat less of a threat. ]

I'm sure we can.

[The fire in her hands grew brighter, hotter, and ripped into the golem's leg right before Kaguya had hit it. It burns deep, and the strike from her partner tore through the golem's leg, sending it to the ground in a heap. It thrashed and slammed it's arms around, but it's head stayed still enough so...]

One more! I'll weaken the rock and you finish it off!

[More fire, this time aimed for it's head. Finish it off!]

[ The fire provides a good target for the sword to swing for, and it rears back to slam into the head with as much force as it can provide. Weakened by the flames, the stone shatters apart, rendering the rest of the golem inert.

Kaguya will watch the remains warily for a few seconds, but once it seems clear that the monster won't be getting up anytime soon, she'll relax somewhat. She's definitely still a little sore and banged up, but it could've been way worse. ]

...That was rather impressive. Thank goodness you were able to weaken the creature.

And thank goodness you were able to break it apart.

[She stands up from her crouch and a healing spell washes over both of them, alleviating at least some of the pain and bruises.]

Thanks for holding it off. I...was pretty sure that would work, but I haven't put that spell into practice yet.

You sounded like you had a plan, and that was better than nothing.

[ The healing spell feels good, soothing the ache in her side. She'll give Yukiko a nod of thanks once it registers, assuming it was her doing.

Now that the path is clear, she can finally make her way over to the glowing stone... albeit a bit hesitantly, just in case there's anything else lying in wait. ]

I didn't get a good look at this earlier, but it looks important. Those are the same symbols from earlier, aren't they?

[Yukiko keeps herself back, on guard for any potential problems, but when her partner makes it to the stone without incident...she eases up and walks over. Peering at it, she nods after a thoughtful moment.]

So it seems. It's almost like it's a pattern. Like, I don't know, maybe a combination? The way it's laid out....and we didn't know what buttons to push last time.

That would make sense. Otherwise, why list the star so many times?

[ And if they needed a combination, it would make sense for it to be around here somewhere. All the keystones were, after all. ]

Should we give it a try? It makes sense, but who knows what could happen if it's wrong.

I think we should. We won't get anywhere just sitting around.

[She pumps a fist, trying to look confident.]

And you have to break a few eggs to make an omelette so...

[ That's true. And worst-case, it seems like she has some healing powers if things do go south, so... ]

...All right. Let's head back to the keystones, then.

[ Time to head back out to the main room and the console to put this sequence in! ]
