TEAM ETHANOL LOG
After that strange Retrospec post, you may be wondering how to contact this "technician". Luckily, your phone or whatever device you have handy to check the network chooses that exact second to go haywire... Team Ethanol roster: Almedha, Augustine Sycamore, Chuuya Nakahara, Heine Rammsteiner, Izumi Sena, Kazuma Kiryu, Nui Harime, Peko Pekoyama, Rosalind Lutece, Weiss Schnee, Yukiko Amagi, Zaveid. On whatever device you use to view the retrospec application, you may note the following scrolling on the screen instead of the usual options: ALERT: CRITICAL TIME-SPACE ANOMALY ACTIVE. SEARCHING FOR ADMIN... SEARCHING FOR ADMIN... DESIGNATED ADMIN CANDIDATE: EMPLOYEE #91962 M. MAHONEY PLEASE INPUT AUTHORIZATION CODE. The prompt does not seem to be for you, however, as the text prompts continue to scroll, this time with some input. > ********************** ACCEPT ADMIN STATUS Y/N? > y DESIGNATE PROGRAM TO RUN. PLEASE BE ADVISED WE ARE SYSTEM CRITICAL. > run subroutine designation echolocation-alpha CONFIRMED. EMPLOYEES ACTIVE IN AREA: 2 > list employees EMPLOYEES ACTIVE: M. FITZWILLIAM LEVEL 0 ACCESS, INTERN M. MAHONEY FULL SYSTEM ACCESS, ADMIN > search for alternative assets CONFIRMED. SENDING ALTERNATIVE ASSET LIST. Names scroll by on the screen. and look, there goes yours! It seems like someone is manually picking and choosing from a list of every Retrospec user who didn't disappear into the void, and several names queue up. > initialize support team CONFIRMED. TEAM DESIGNATION? > ethanol CONFIRMED. TEAM ETHANOL MISSION PARAMETERS? PLEASE BE ADVISED SYSTEM ENERGY LEVELS ARE CRITICALLY LOW. > make contact with sysadmin > contact point entrance 6 > temporary access level 1 granted CONFIRMED. MISSION PARAMETERS SET. TEMPORARY ACCESS LEVEL 1 GRANTED. The screen clears itself, and instead of the familiar retrospec logo, there is simply TEAM ETHANOL as a designation. the application will refuse to show anything other than a map, with one point highlighted in red. it is, of course, up to team members to decide whether or not they approach the access point. Team Ethanol's access point is in the Recollé Graveyard. Team members will find the grave of "G. Mahoney" will move aside to reveal catacombs so long as they approach it in groups of two or more team members. Only Team Ethanol team members can see or enter the catacombs at this time. Please see the Objective 1 toplevel for more information on what they can see when they travel further down the tunnels. This is the Team Ethanol Event Log. You are free to toplevel and thread as you choose on this log, but only team members may utilize this log. Important links to mod toplevels are: Mod Questions & Participation Reporting. Please be aware you are responsible for reporting your own participation & objective completion efforts with links; the moderators will try to keep up with threads, but as we are currently running several teams with participation, we require you to keep us up to date! Please read each of the toplevels and instructions!
The schedule for Team Ethanol is as follows: WEEK 1: Objective 1; CLEAR: M. MahoneyObjectives will be given in mod toplevels to this post with instructions; please check the log currently for Objective 1 to see how this will work. NPC interactions will be rnged from your team roster once per week, and toplevels for those will also be posted, although all team members can hear/see these interactions! |

[It's not a warm expression, but Amelia takes the sword shortly afterwards anyway. She grimaces a bit; she wasn't frail, and on its own the sword wasn't extremely heavy, but holding it by its end shifted all the balance onto her wrists.
But short of grabbing a questionably sound chair and standing on it, it was the only easily accessible object that could reach the axes. Amelia hefts the blade up, leaning its point against the stone as much as she can. The shield in front of the axes was in the way right now, and Amelia did her best to get it off first. But it seemed stuck, probably on a hook, and cobwebs and dust were the only things that came down.
She wasn't going to give up, still scowling.]

[That looks tough, no matter how desperately they need weapons. Speaking of, he returns to pull the second shorter sword from its post on the pillar, and then down onto the floor propped up with the other one.]
Kind of a strange place to store a bunch of weapons, a crypt. Makes me wonder what the hell is going on here.

[Stubbornness runs in the family. Amelia keeps on trying. She got the shield to wobble this time!]
Even stranger to keep a dining area here.
[Or apparently magical(??) tongs, or a fire that never went out, or walking skeletons in general, but. Details.]

There's a lot of weirdness going on here. I wonder if anyone else is finding ridiculous things right now.
[The team designation sure makes it sound like there are other people tasked with doing bizarre things.]
I get this feeling something is going to creep out of the shadows and try and turn us into a snack.

There were some circus monkeys outside the door you came in.
[The tall woman returns to jabbing the shield--and it was a good thing Zaveid was there, because abruptly it eases off of its display hook and topples forwards and down.]
no subject
[Or maybe not.
Who can really say?
Anyway, he grabs the shield, thankfully without it falling on top of him or anything like that. He looks it over, impressed.]
Hey, this thing is in pretty good shape for something that's been hanging above a mantel for who-knows-how-long!

[Amelia's voice was dry, and while she certainly did flinch away from the shield dropping on her face, she didn't drop the sword. Thanks, Zaveid.]
A museum piece.
[She had her doubts it would last terribly long, but it was still a shield.
Getting one of the axes down was her next priority. The shield had hidden the other display hooks, so now it was much easier to pick those out of the cobwebs.]
no subject
[He frowns at that, but at least he doesn't outwardly look bothered.]
I guess there's no sense putting it in some museum when we might need to use it here, I guess. If you would have told me a week ago things would get even weirder around here, I wouldn't have believed it.
Buncha weird crap happening around here, possibly forever.

Though, when he does notice them, it doesn't take long for him to show some worry about this.]
Not to interrupt, but are you sure we have to steal those weapons out of the room?
More importantly, should we get to the sarcophagus right now?
no subject
I don't see why not. It's not like they're getting much use just hanging around as decorations around here. There are a lot of weapons here; good enough if people want to try and fight, I say.
[But he does look thoughtful.]
You can go on ahead. I think we're just about done here, right?
[He says, looking up at Amelia.]

[She has credit cards and cash, it's fine.
Amelia manages to dislodge one of the axes! ...and this time, she does get out of the way. She drops the sword, and grabs onto Zaveid's arm to yank him out of the way with her Certified Mom Instincts(tm).
The axe clatters to the ground like punctuation.]
...yes, we'll be fine.
no subject
[With that, Augustine left the room with his hopes that Amelia and Zavied following them. And when they arrive at the sarcophagus, he didn't waste any time to put the cube into its recession.]
no subject
Guess we should get outta here now, and hope we're not about to wake up a damn dragon or something equally nasty.
no subject
Very well.
[Amelia lets go of Zaveid, dusting herself off. She leaves the outsized sword where it is, picking up the axe instead. She had even less of an idea of what to do with it, but it was at least balanced better than that other thing.]
Get the other swords. [She said, quite unnecessarily. The situation went from very dusty to very urgent quickly.]

[He's already moving to pick them up. Hopefully they won't need them, but, well, if there's already more weird monsters attacking them...]
