WHAT: The log for the blind dates event! Awkward dates and disasters within.
WARNINGS: None!

It’s finally the fated day: Valentine’s.

Some of Recolle’s citizens might be going out, spending the day with their loved ones, while others might be sitting in bars, crying into their drinks. For a number of “lucky” ones, they might have gotten dragged into a blind date!

The Narukami twins have done their jobs. All the matches have been released. Partners have been assigned. Messages have been sent out. Now all that needs to happen are the actual dates. So, run free, everyone. The entire city is there to be their playground. They can go on their own respective dates, join up with other couples, spy on others, sabotage some, anything is fair game. After all, it’s not really fun if someone’s not crashing on another person’s party, right?

This is an open mingle post, so multiple threads can happen anywhere and everywhere. Indicate if the thread is closed if you’d like to keep it private, however! [He wasn't sure where to aim in terms of how formal to dress, so he aimed for something just at least neater than his usual clothing. At least Eleanor didn't look too tricked out in comparison, nor explicitly disappointed in his own wardrobe.]

Dude, you look great! [He starts off with that compliment, since her attire does look quite nice! He's not sure if it's weird to start off that way with a friend, but oh well.]

The plan? Heh... Well it turns out we're not so far from a pretty swanky Italian restaurant. How does that sound?

Oh, ah...thank you. [Okay yeah, she blushed at that. Whoops? Eleanor was not used to compliments that weren't about school.] You look nice also.

[Okay, deep breath. This was Kurt. Stop feeling embarrassed, Eleanor. She gestured with the hand not holding her purse.]

Italian sounds lovely. Lead the way.

Do I? Thanks! [He beams at the compliment and scratches carefully at his hair.

He feels a bit nervous, but he's ready to power onwards.]

Alright! Leave it to me. I'll be the fearless leader!

[He starts walking in the direction, while adjusting his pace to walk beside her. He's not sure what he should do - hook her arm, not hook her arm? But he'll at least make sure they walk in pace.]

[It was hard trying to find a balance between thinking something shouldn't be awkward and realizing it was, Eleanor decided as she fell into step next to him.]

A new role for you, then?

[Her voice was teasing. At least she was still relaxed enough for that. But she didn't seem to know what to do with her hands any more than he did, so after a moment she folded them behind her back, holding her purse between them.]

Sure, it's about time I branched out! [He responds jokingly with a brief laugh as they started moving. He did notice her hands go behind her back - well, that solved that for now. Kurt just leaves his own arms hanging by his side.

Then, he grins and speaks more excitedly.]

So, you excited? This is going to be some fun stuff!

[She laughed softly.]

You know, I kind of am? I haven't been on a date in over a year. Even if it's a blind date and...not very serious? There's still a thrill there.

[She was pretty sure it wasn't supposed to be serious, at least. Or maybe it was? Should she not have said that? Part of her brain worried over it, but Eleanor worried over most things like that.]

[He does blink a bit as he takes in her words. Was it disappointing that it wasn't a serious date? He can't tell for sure how he feels, but he is feeling a little nervous despite otherwise riding the casual vibe. He just quickly tries to agree with her.]

Totally! Don't doubt yours truly. I- I might be rusty in this area myself, but I'm ready to cut loose and have some fun!

Oh? [Okay, something could latch onto that felt more comfortable...teasing Kurt.] Rusty, hmm?

And here I was assuming a big fancy tv star must have girls knocking down his door for dates.

[He proceeds to laugh much more nervously.]

Ahaha... ha... right, of course! I practically have to... beat them off with a stick! Fun stuff. It- it's just been a while... Not a long time! Just... a while!

[He's never actually dated anyone.]

Hmmm. [Whether Eleanor believed him or not, she still made the most skeptical noise at his explanation.]

Uh huh. So I don't have to worry about some angry ex stalking us down and throwing a plate at me during dinner, then?

Totally not! Ehehe... [He shrugs.] And... even if that were the case, I think my plate-catching skills have been getting pretty dope!

I'll take your word for it. [Eleanor grinned, feeling more relaxed now that they were joking like normal. Okay. This was fine, right? It was just a date between friends. Nothing to feel awkward about.]

So seriously.

[Perhaps because she was feeling better, and it WAS a date, she unhooked her hands from behind her self and slid one arm through his.]

You signed yourself up for this, right? So what were you expecting to get?

[The gesture did take him by surprise, but he still complied with it and smiled as he stepped onwards. Now he looks ahead bashfully.]

I did sign myself up! But oh... I don't know what I expected! Some sort of a mysterious stranger? ...N-not that this isn't totally cool you know

[Okay yeah, the conversation was definitely helping her relax some. Actually, so was holding his arm. He hadn't yanked away or anything, after all.]

A mysterious stranger? A dark haired beauty in a long red dress, or something? Out of a hard boiled private detective movie?

[He certainly doesn't mind his arm being held. And he snorts at her description.]

Well... Is it bad that I wouldn't say no to that? ...As long as she's not too much of a femme fatale!

[Eleanor made a 'hmm' sound as she thought it over.]

Thinking about it, I'm not sure I would say no to that.

[A little snicker.]

And if she's not a femme fatale, what's the point?

Ha! We'd have to make it a triple date. [He says sagely.]

You're right... I guess it wouldn't be the same otherwise, backstabbing and all.

I'm fairly sure my father wouldn't have let me out of the house for that.

[Mostly a joke. Probably.]

I should hope so. You wouldn't want the date to be boring would you? I mean, I have at least one double-cross planned for our meal tonight.

You're right... A little danger never hurt anyone! Well, except when it has. [He mildly shrugs his shoulders. But he raises an eyebrow in response to the double-cross.] Are you supposed to be upfront about this kinda thing?

Well. [She gave the most innocent shrug.]

I figure anticipation is half the fun, right? I mean, if you know there might be a double cross coming, you'll be trying to look for it. Which is...exciting?

[She trails off, then snickers.]

Okay yes I haven't any idea I'm going with this.

You tried! [He says with a laugh.]

But your sinister plot was no match for... Detective Kurt? The Cool Cop!

Maybe I'm still trying and this is all to lull you into a false sense of security.

[It really wasn't.]

If you have to call yourself cool, you're not cool. It's like when my dad says he's a 'Cool Dad.' He's really not.

Oh man, that would totally be nefarious!

[Then he gets defensive.]

Hey, that's no fair! If someone's cool, what else are we supposed to call ourselves? We're just telling it like it is!

I am the most nefarious, so that makes sense.

People should just know how cool you are. If you need to tell them, well...

[She trailed off as if it were a great tragedy. And then pointed with the arm not hooked through his.]

That the restaurant you're talking about?

[He makes an exaggerated slump of defeat as she trails off - but then he perks up as he looks towards the restaurant.]

Dude, that totally is! We made it! [He picks up his pace as they move towards the door.]
