[Maybe you weren't even in line of sight of Shuji. [John and Mista are both here, and they're right at the front front, but Shuji's name doesn't show up in the books around here.

Since he's looking for one book specifically, he might take note: there's an empty space where a book would fit at the very start of the nearest shelf to the entrance.
