[open dreamdive] no longer human
WHO: You!
WHERE: Shuji's subconscious.
WHEN: August 18.
WHAT: Dreamdiving!
WARNINGS: Depends on how the dive goes, but a likely one is suicide.
[Maybe you weren't even in line of sight of Shuji. Just about everyone has a reason to be out and about on a Saruday afternoon, and nobody wants their day interrupted by the ground falling out from under them. Maybe you don't even instantly recognize that the library entrance you fall into would be part of Shuji's subconscious and not anybody else's.
This is how things ended up for you today, unfortunately. Might as well take a look around and see if you can't spot the man himself.
Locations are in top-levels added as divers enter them.]

DINING HALL
An array of food has been set up on a long table, with a sign: HELP YOURSELF. There are doors on either side: one is in worse repair than anything you’ve seen in here thus far, and one looks perfectly normal.]

This is a pretty cute room, but Jaeger does not trust the food. If this is some kind of dream or memory or something then who knows what that food will do. Better to ignore it!!
So aside from the food set out, is there anything else to check out here, besides the doors?]

He can read the menus on the walls, but they seem to be just... listing the food that's set out, with the occasional scribbled notes like 'this sucks' and 'good for you why don't I have this more??'.
Looks like it's just the food and the doors that's of real interest.]

The menus are kind of cute, and he has to wonder if those are Shuji's thoughts on things, but for now, time to check out the ruined door! Once again, he'll listen in to see if there's anything he can hear first; if not, he'll head on in!]

He doesn't exactly trust heart-food either, but you know what, fuck it, if anything here looks like it isn't going to result in immediate death, he'll do as he's told and eat something, here's hoping this isn't like some sort of fae thing.
Honestly, the only reason he's willing to do this is he doesn't believe Shuji would set up something like this to intentionally harm people.]

Picking a random food here, trying the grilled salmon results in a strong, almost overpowering feeling of despair.
You found the mood swing bar! :D]

right
so
give him a moment to just kind of sit down and put his head down on a table so he can try to get rid of the crippling sense of being a fundamentally broken person because that's how his despair tends to manifest, and also stop blaming everything that has ever come out of the ocean and ended up on a plate for all of his life's problems
this might take a moment
god he wants to fucking die, awesome
you have created the world's worst pavlovian association with salmon and he is not touching any more of the food less he start associating, i don't know, kale with orgasmic bliss
no one needs that reaction to kale
OKAY. okay. this is. fine. awesome. okay.
doors.
there are doors in here along with the fucking salmon of misery, let him...focus for a moment before he gets up and makes himself continue because he doesn't have a choice. doors.
he doesn't touch the ruined one right off, because that seems like a terrible idea; let's check to see if the other one is locked before going through it if it isn't.]

Surely this door will lead to something better.]
