[When the world went white, it threatened to crush Fai's plans for Iwai's first real birthday party ever. How on Earth were they supposed to have a paintball party when they had to paint the world just to see any of it? Over the next several hours of frantic painting just to see their house and pets again, however, a plan began to evolve.

On Friday a text went out to everyone Fai thought might be coming to the party, and everyone he'd talked to about it:]

CHANGE OF PLANS. BDAY PARTY FOR IWAI, MAY 6 @ 2PM @ UNSTOPPABLE. LETS HELP MUNE-CHAN PAINT UNSTOPPABLE! cake and drinks coming with us. lmk if you need help finding the shop

[Small bits of the paintball shop are already visible, mostly near the corners, as Iwai's done his best to restore his livelihood by himself. And yes this is a surprise party--Fai actually managed to keep from spilling the beans.

Fai will be driving to the party, a cake and snacks and drinks packed into his newly-painted, pretty little sea-green Prius. While the painting is going on he'll be setting up a folding table nearby for refreshments, and there's a good chance he'll end up trying to convince someone to team up with him and splatter everyone else with paint at some point. Because he's a giant ten-year-old.

[Fai grins, making a show of thinking about his answer, lifting his gaze thoughtfully.]

Well, the birthday boy still needs presents, doesn't he~? But you'll have to wait until we get home for those. One of them is from all of us, me and the kids. The other one... is just from me~

That one from just you happen to involve the bed?

[He looks amused but there's no denying that he's clearly interested.]

[Yeah, Fai doesn't even try to pretend that Iwai isn't on the right track there. It's not like he was being obvious about it or anything~

He does lower his voice a little though, just in case any of the kids are within earshot.]

That depends. You're the birthday boy, so you get to decide if it involves the bed, or the bathtub, or the shower, or the wall....

[geckoman]

Sounds like that'll be a fun present to unwrap.

[This time he chuckles and he pats Fai's ass gently.]

Looking forward to it.

[And might as well give this a shot...]

What's the one from you and the kids?

[The pat on the ass earns a little squeak and a smile, but you aren't going to catch him off guard that easily Iwai.]

[Damn. Worth a shot.]

Nope! Sakura-chan and I have been very careful to keep everything hush-hush, I'm not going to spoil the surprise this close to unveiling~!

[He pulls one hand back and very carefully (thank you, lack of depth perception) uses one fingertip to boop the end of Iwai's nose.

In a sing-song voice:]

You'll just have to wait and see~

[Well that sure does make him blink a few times before he chuckles a bit.]

Alright, alright. I won't go poking around about it and wait.

Don't worry, Foxy-chan, we'll show you as soon as we get home. You won't have to wait too long! Just long enough to spend some time with your friends and have some cake.

[Iwai gets a kiss on the cheek--for all that Fai's talking about spending time with friends, he's certainly happy enough to monopolize Iwai's attention for the moment. There's no indication that he has any intention of unwrapping himself from around Iwai's neck just yet.]

And to fix your shop, of course!

This is actually more colorful than it was before. Does look nice though.

[He'll give everyone that. They're doing good work. Sure the colors are different but hey he's not going to be mad when they're really trying here.]

Looks like people are having a good time too.

Think of it as... eye-catching! It'll be a good way to attract customers! [Fai pauses and turns his head to get a better look at the shop--and then bursts into giggles.] Although... with all of the colors, it kind of looks like it's rainbow-colored!

[He turns back to look at Iwai and grins.]

I think we turned your shop gay~!

[geckoman]

[There's a looooooooong pause as he just looks at his boyfriend.]

...........You know you can't turn a shop gay, right?

[Sorry Iwai, Fai has erupted into a full-on giggle fit thanks to your reaction.]

Ah, I guess we should have known it would turn out like this, with me painting it! It's like I have the Midas touch, except instead of gold it turns gay instead!

[geckoman]

[.....................what.]

What.

[No seriously. That's all that's on his mind right now. You've confused him thoroughly.]

[flowrite]

[Still giggling, Fai reaches up to pat Iwai gently on the cheek.]

Just being silly, don't mind me. Go spend some time with your friends. Just let me know when you're ready to head home for your first present~!

[geckoman]

Eh we can kick these guys out whenever. The shop is back so I'm ready to go home at any point.

[He's a hermit through and through. He only parties for so long. And that honestly is the real reason rather than him wanting to find out what his present is.

Even if he wants to know that too.]

[flowrite]

[...Iwai you are precious. No matter how much Fai tries to get you out and socialize you, he also finds your hermit tendencies really adorable too.]

You have to at least have some birthday cake, birthday boy!

[geckoman]

[There's a pause and then...]

Alright. Cake and then we can kick 'em out.

[He'll just keep an arm around Fai while they go to the cake then.]

[Fai throws his head back and laughs aloud at that.]

All right, all right! It's your party, you're allowed to be done with it if you want to be.

[This time.

Fai keeps himself tucked against Iwai's side in that same spot he usually occupies, knowing just how to fit the two of them together perfectly as they walk after having dated for over half a year now. It's his favorite spot.

The cake is... interesting. Fai sort of thinks it looks like it belongs in one of those old Daffy Duck cartoons, the one where the cartoonist was trying to erase Daffy, but he's already taste-tested the thing and it turned out just fine.]

[geckoman]

[If Iwai is bothered by the weird coloring on it then he doesn't show it. (Spoilers: He's not.) He just gets a piece and just runs his finger through the frosting to bring that up to his mouth.

Eh. He'll get a fork in a moment.]

It's good.

[Luckily Fai's already seen Iwai do this to a cake before, and he unabashedly loves the whole caveman, unapologetically male thing Iwai's got going for him. So it works out nicely.

And hey, at least he's only dragging his finger through one piece of the cake and not the whole cake itself.]

I'm glad! Do you have any idea how hard it is to tell if a cake is done when you can't see it turn golden? I'm lucky I didn't tear all of my hair out!

[Not to mention having to paint to see all of the ingredients. And the stove. And Iwai's present.

It's not been a fun few days.]

Glad you didn't pull all your hair out. I like pulling it and playing with it.

[And he finally goes to grab a fork as he just lets what he said hang in the air. No big deal at all.]

[Welp.

Torn between blushing furiously and the desperate need for an innuendo-laced retort, Fai's brain kind of stalls and ends up squarely on "blush furiously."

After a moment, while Iwai's getting a fork, Fai glances around to make sure the kids weren't within earshot of that. Thankfully they weren't.]

[geckoman]

[A bite of cake later and he notices the look on Fai's face. Smirking, he leans against the table that has the food on it.

Point to him apparently.]

Guess that's something we can do later then.

[Funny, that's kind of what Fai was thinking too. Which is what melted his brain, thank you Iwai.

Since his snappy retort has been lost to brain-meltyness, and he can't really think of a good way to come back from blushing like a schoolgirl just yet, Fai grabs one of the plates of cake to cover for himself.

...but given that Iwai knows him really damn well by now, that should be all the answer he needs.]
