TEAM ONE EVENT LOG
READY: START. Roster: Theodore Leonhardt + Atsushi Nakajima, Augustine Sauveterre, Shinji Matou + Makoto Yuuki, Nazuna Nito + Apollo Justice, Sakutarou Oda + Howard Phillips, Carter + Mao Yata + Izumi Miyamura, Hitori Togusa + Sora Pu'uwai, Pitou Blythe + Astin Beaufort, Elizabeth Brisby + Ritsu Sakuma, Junpei Tenmyouji, Light Averly, Kiyotaka Ishida, Soujirou Katsuki + Peter Hoboken On the morning of the fourth at 9am, you'll find yourself gathering at the beach with several other volunteers. Many of you will find yourself partnered up and with a name in mind, and awaiting in front of you is a small fishing boat equipped to carry your group. A text comes through not long after, Zee's name attached. All aboard! Welcome, good morning, thanks for coming out. We've got a little journey ahead of us. Hope you like the ocean. Stepping aboard, you'll notice that the boat is equip with everything you could need for a short trip three hours south of the city: fishing poles, breakfast, life jackets, etc. In addition, you'll find a handful of flares with the Retrospec symbol stamped on them that you may want to take with you. At the end of this trip, you'll find yourself pulling into a harbor of a region known as Pesgare. ![]() Constantly overcast with the threat of rain, Pesgare is a bustling little harborside town with a wide ocean and streams leading fishermen and traders in from all parts of the world. There’s greenery and the scent of salt in the area and it’s a balmy sort of feeling the longer you linger outside. The region known as Pesgare is filled with cramped quarters and cobblestone-esque roads and it’s hard to tell who is and isn’t from the area. There are multiple languages that can be heard (including some that are absolutely not from this earth) and it’s hard to track all of the activity in the main village. Along the roads are brick buildings and wooden shacks and the general area of the town itself is only about 500 square miles. Most of the area to explore ahead is the ocean itself to other ports and islands around. Everyone in the town is friendly. Literally everyone. It’s hard to find anyone who isn’t in a jovial mood and who isn’t willing to help a neighbor or a stranger and they will be happy to chat about the places they’ve traveled or the people they’ve met along the way. Several of the stories revolve around travels around the globe from once upon a time, and there are others that speak of worlds far off and strange planets that you may never have heard of. It’s hard to tell if they’re serious stories or not though as the townspeople regale the tales and laugh all the while. It’s hard to go anywhere in the town without someone stopping to offer you a free loaf of bread or rush up to talk about how you remind them of someone. It’s busy, busy, busy. A lot of the places in the area appear to be trade posts for certain specialties. This includes weaponry, types of fish, cured meats and veggies, bakeries, books, equipment, curio wares and more. It’s all about supply and demand and barter and trade here. It’s not recommended to travel at night, so most out-of-towners are directed to the inn at the top of the hill, The Ontispan. Several stories high and easily the most recognizable building in the port, you will find that it’s near the lighthouse and the owners, an elderly couple, are more than happy to take you in. There’s plenty of room! The lodging is nice and comfortable and the rolling sea outside your window is calming. However, payment must be made in the morning. No problem, right? You must have your wallet on you, mustn’t you? But the amount due is in a currency you do not have. You’ve never even heard of it! How are you supposed to pay for something like this? It’s all about supply and demand and barter and trade. The boat you came on is nowhere in sight and none of the other fishermen will consider taking you back to the mainland while you're trying to leave without payment. Looks like you'll just have to work off your debt, now won’t you? This is the Team One Event Log! You are free to toplevel and thread as you choose on this log, but only team members may utilize this log.
Remember, your activity to qualify for your two free memories and one item is supplying at least 30 comments spread over the three objectives per group (minimum of 5 comments per objective!) with at least three members of your groups. You will not be eligible if you do not participate in all three objectives somehow, and you will not be eligible if you only stick with your preferred partner! People who are paired with partners will experience some of the following: -Telepathic connections, but only the thoughts you don’t want your partner to actually hear. You can also use this to influence your partner’s thoughts. -Color fades when you’re not cooperating, it brightens when you are. -Cause and effect. If something happens to your partner, you feel it (i.e. if your partner trips somewhere, you’ll feel the effects.) -Timers. You and your partner will have a countdown embedded somewhere (hand, foot, chest, whatever) and if you don’t complete your missions and see each other before the timer runs out, consequences occur. These are not required and you may play with these as little or as much as you want! Important links to mod toplevels are: Mod Questions, Participation Reporting, NPC questions. Please be aware you are responsible for reporting your own participation & objective completion efforts with links. You must ICly tap into the log within the first 48 hours, or you will be removed from your team. If your activity is low per objective, the moderators may reach out to you about reassignment as well. The schedule for Team One is as follows: 3RD: Objective 1 posted (9PM EST) | Threading for Location Travel | Threading for Object OneObjectives will be given in mod toplevels to this post with instructions; please check the log currently for Objective 1 to see how this will work. |

[With that, he managed to put most of the supplies in the boat as he and Modeste got onto the boat. As he did, he uses the telescope that he was holding to see the ships ahead as he waits for Togusa to start the boat.]
no subject
A gentle push on the throttle, maybe too gentle, at first. When he gets more of a feel for it, he will dare to get them up to speed, which they're going to need to keep from getting tossed too far off course in the storm.
"You're going to have to help me, let me know if we're going the wrong way, you can spot the boats better." All of his focus is going to have to be spent on keeping the boat going.
no subject
Got it! Modeste, you have to hold onto me so I won't fall over.
[His dragon also nods as she does what he said without letting her claws scratching him. As for Augustine, he looks through his telescope, which from his vision, he didn't see anything but fog.]
I can't see anything from this direction. Can you try move to the left?
[They would try to move closer, but he can't risk themselves going deeper into the storm until he is able to get a visual.]
no subject
When he is turning more shallowly, going more with the waves as they hit, the boat successfully goes in the direction. It's difficult to see, but at the right angle, Augustine might be able to spot something on their target boat.
no subject
That's... something you don't see every day...
[He would have time to collect himself on what he just saw, but considering their situation, he knew he has no time to do so.]
Togusa, try to get close as you can! Modeste, I need you to position yourself over here!
[Modeste became confused at her owner's orders. Yet she complied as he stood in his place, preparing herself for his next orders.]
no subject
Togusa has to be cautious, the other boat can't move, so he steers them as close as he can, but is ready to change their course if the waves seem like they will send them crashing into the immobilized craft. They can't afford to have them both stranded out here.
It's only once they're that close that Togusa can see what has the boat. "What the hell-!?"
no subject
I think we may question that later! Modeste, use your abilities to immobilize that tentacle!
[Now realizing what he wanted her to do, Modeste quickly complies as she charges a green energy ball from her mouth and fires it to her target.]
no subject
He waves a hand towards the people on the boat, like he's gesturing them back, and shouts as loud as he can over the storm. "Back! Get away from the edge! Back!" Luckily, someone on board spots him (or, hey, maybe he spots the dragon charging up her laser), and starts getting everyone away from that back railing.
"You're clear!" Togusa re-grips the wheel of the boat, ready for whatever kind of reaction this might provoke.
no subject
Togusa, it might attack us next! Can you get us closer to the ship if possible?
no subject
Closer. "You got it," trying to keep the tone of worry out of his voice. Togusa guns the powerboat's engines again, and tries to specifically get the side of the ship Modeste is on closer to the tangled ship. Closer and closer, while Togusa is nearly holding his breath, as if that might help. Their whole side would be exposed if it lashes back at them.
"Good enough?"
no subject
[They wanted to save the people who were on board inside the ship, but he knew Togusa would not get close to avoid the tentacle as soon as possible. So just in case...]
Modeste, if the tentacle gets too close, you have to fend it off with your claws and your energy beam of yours.
[His dragon nodded in agreement as she prepared herself to make a counterattack against it if it chooses to swing itself to their boat.]
no subject
The tentacle waves, and it starts to turn, aiming to drop in a slap towards whatever it was that attacked it. It's reluctant, but perhaps this is just a desperate lashing out in an attempt to drive Togusa and Augustine's boat away. Modeste should be too prepared to let it actually impact them.
no subject
Meanwhile, Augustine hung onto the rails of the boat to prevent himself from falling into the waters before he turns to Togusa.]
Togusa, can you get the boat closer to the ship even more?
no subject
He lets out a shaky breath at Augustine's command. "All right. But we hit that thing, somebody's going to need to come out after us both!"
Togusa guns the engines again, just a short burst, so cautious and careful that his whole body is held tense as he does it. He can't even watch the battle below, his eyes are fixated on the front of their boat, and the edge of the trapped one.
"...There?"
There seems to be an oversight... Garchomp's claws doesn't glow from the last tag, sorry!
If they managed to reach the wayward ship, he starts to work on evacuating the ship into their boat before it strikes back.]
no subject
The tentacle slithers back into the water with a smaller splash, and the surface doesn't break again for a few critical seconds. Togusa doesn't dare look down again, focused on the people. He has to trust Modeste to cover them.
no subject
Togusa! Are all of them already on board?
no subject
"Cap's staying, he's going to try to drive her back!"
Sonova. Togusa grimaces back up at the other boat, but there is no time to argue as its engines start back up. Stubborn damn fisherman won't leave the boat. "Oh, that's all we're getting!" Togusa calls out to Augustine. "Keep us covered, I'll get us back!"
As Togusa follows suit, and starts to wheel the boat around, something stirs under the water.
no subject
You heard him, Modeste! Defend both of the boats until we get back to the port!
[His dragon nods as she scans around the area to see any signs of danger. Surely enough, she senses something is coming as she prepares to charge a green energy ball.]
no subject
Togusa isn't daring to look behind them, merely holding the boat's throttle open and keeping all of his focus on the rocks towards the shore. He can hear Modeste charging up one last attack behind him. "Everybody hold on!"
no subject
no subject
There are a lot of grateful pats on each other's backs, a few people are trying to approach Augustine and Modeste. Augustine gets a few offers of a hand shake, but they look at Modeste carefully. Still openly, but they are trying to figure out how to thank her for saving them.
Although Togusa has to focus on driving for the last leg, rocks and rain are a lot less dangerous obstacles than the tentacles. He lets the more experienced boat take the lead, and follows the path that the man sets for them.
no subject
It's alright, we are just happy that you're not hurt from that attack.
[All that's left now is to wait until Togusa drives back to the port and get these people to safety.]
no subject
Togusa awkwardly accepts some of his own thanks as people disembark. He lingers behind where he can see the back of the fishing boat. Their net is destroyed, as well as the rigging that connects the net to the back of the boat, likely what the creature kept on grabbing on to. But the boat itself suffered little damage.
"Never seen anything like that." "Do they get that big around here?" "It just wanted an easy meal out of the nets."
Togusa smiles at Augustine once everyone is off the boats. "No idea what that thing was, but everybody's keeping in good spirits about it. Give it a few days, and it'll just become another fisherman's tall tale to spread around."
no subject
However, as he joined Togusa, he began to wonder about their latest encounter.]
Still, do you think it might be the unreality shift's responsible for that monster beneath us?
