TEAM ONE EVENT LOG
READY: START. Roster: Theodore Leonhardt + Atsushi Nakajima, Augustine Sauveterre, Shinji Matou + Makoto Yuuki, Nazuna Nito + Apollo Justice, Sakutarou Oda + Howard Phillips, Carter + Mao Yata + Izumi Miyamura, Hitori Togusa + Sora Pu'uwai, Pitou Blythe + Astin Beaufort, Elizabeth Brisby + Ritsu Sakuma, Junpei Tenmyouji, Light Averly, Kiyotaka Ishida, Soujirou Katsuki + Peter Hoboken On the morning of the fourth at 9am, you'll find yourself gathering at the beach with several other volunteers. Many of you will find yourself partnered up and with a name in mind, and awaiting in front of you is a small fishing boat equipped to carry your group. A text comes through not long after, Zee's name attached. All aboard! Welcome, good morning, thanks for coming out. We've got a little journey ahead of us. Hope you like the ocean. Stepping aboard, you'll notice that the boat is equip with everything you could need for a short trip three hours south of the city: fishing poles, breakfast, life jackets, etc. In addition, you'll find a handful of flares with the Retrospec symbol stamped on them that you may want to take with you. At the end of this trip, you'll find yourself pulling into a harbor of a region known as Pesgare. ![]() Constantly overcast with the threat of rain, Pesgare is a bustling little harborside town with a wide ocean and streams leading fishermen and traders in from all parts of the world. There’s greenery and the scent of salt in the area and it’s a balmy sort of feeling the longer you linger outside. The region known as Pesgare is filled with cramped quarters and cobblestone-esque roads and it’s hard to tell who is and isn’t from the area. There are multiple languages that can be heard (including some that are absolutely not from this earth) and it’s hard to track all of the activity in the main village. Along the roads are brick buildings and wooden shacks and the general area of the town itself is only about 500 square miles. Most of the area to explore ahead is the ocean itself to other ports and islands around. Everyone in the town is friendly. Literally everyone. It’s hard to find anyone who isn’t in a jovial mood and who isn’t willing to help a neighbor or a stranger and they will be happy to chat about the places they’ve traveled or the people they’ve met along the way. Several of the stories revolve around travels around the globe from once upon a time, and there are others that speak of worlds far off and strange planets that you may never have heard of. It’s hard to tell if they’re serious stories or not though as the townspeople regale the tales and laugh all the while. It’s hard to go anywhere in the town without someone stopping to offer you a free loaf of bread or rush up to talk about how you remind them of someone. It’s busy, busy, busy. A lot of the places in the area appear to be trade posts for certain specialties. This includes weaponry, types of fish, cured meats and veggies, bakeries, books, equipment, curio wares and more. It’s all about supply and demand and barter and trade here. It’s not recommended to travel at night, so most out-of-towners are directed to the inn at the top of the hill, The Ontispan. Several stories high and easily the most recognizable building in the port, you will find that it’s near the lighthouse and the owners, an elderly couple, are more than happy to take you in. There’s plenty of room! The lodging is nice and comfortable and the rolling sea outside your window is calming. However, payment must be made in the morning. No problem, right? You must have your wallet on you, mustn’t you? But the amount due is in a currency you do not have. You’ve never even heard of it! How are you supposed to pay for something like this? It’s all about supply and demand and barter and trade. The boat you came on is nowhere in sight and none of the other fishermen will consider taking you back to the mainland while you're trying to leave without payment. Looks like you'll just have to work off your debt, now won’t you? This is the Team One Event Log! You are free to toplevel and thread as you choose on this log, but only team members may utilize this log.
Remember, your activity to qualify for your two free memories and one item is supplying at least 30 comments spread over the three objectives per group (minimum of 5 comments per objective!) with at least three members of your groups. You will not be eligible if you do not participate in all three objectives somehow, and you will not be eligible if you only stick with your preferred partner! People who are paired with partners will experience some of the following: -Telepathic connections, but only the thoughts you don’t want your partner to actually hear. You can also use this to influence your partner’s thoughts. -Color fades when you’re not cooperating, it brightens when you are. -Cause and effect. If something happens to your partner, you feel it (i.e. if your partner trips somewhere, you’ll feel the effects.) -Timers. You and your partner will have a countdown embedded somewhere (hand, foot, chest, whatever) and if you don’t complete your missions and see each other before the timer runs out, consequences occur. These are not required and you may play with these as little or as much as you want! Important links to mod toplevels are: Mod Questions, Participation Reporting, NPC questions. Please be aware you are responsible for reporting your own participation & objective completion efforts with links. You must ICly tap into the log within the first 48 hours, or you will be removed from your team. If your activity is low per objective, the moderators may reach out to you about reassignment as well. The schedule for Team One is as follows: 3RD: Objective 1 posted (9PM EST) | Threading for Location Travel | Threading for Object OneObjectives will be given in mod toplevels to this post with instructions; please check the log currently for Objective 1 to see how this will work. |

Of course! It's awful that they should have to worry like this.
[He knows a little bit what it's like to worry about losing your home, because they'd struggled for a while when he first got sick.]
Do you think, maybe if we gathered enough people- [He's not sure what to follow up with, though.]
no subject
[Anything would work as long as they were able to get their point across.]
Oh! I know! Let's start with the businesses around here. They might know a little bit more about what's been happening. We could get some materials for signs that we can make too.
[Makoto is making up this plan as he goes along. He hopes that it's making sens, but everything is starting so well that he's gonna continue.]
Where should we go first?
no subject
[He's glad that Makoto seems good at improvising plans, because while he thinks fast on his feet when he needs to, imagination has never been his forte.
Supporting other people while they make the plans, on the other hand? That's right up his alley.]
Hmm... Well, maybe that supply store where people got the paint? I mean, they probably have stuff for making signs, right? So we can kill two birds with one stone.
no subject
[Makoto does have an active imagination, though it's his first time using it with people. He's glad that he has someone that can help him.]
Oh yeah! Alright, let's go over there first, we can get enough things to make signs too. [On their way to the supply store Makoto turns to him with a sheepish smile.] Oh, sorry I haven't introduced myself yet. My name is Makoto Yuuki, nice to meet you!
[When they walked in, Makoto greets the guy at the counter on his way over.]
We heard what was happening and we wanted to know if you knew a little bit more about why they want you all to leave.
These last two days have been a hot mess, I’m so sorry
Well, I forgot too, didn’t I? I’m Soujirou Katsuki.
[He tails along happily, keeping an eye out at the people they pass. They all seem anxious and upset, talking together in huddles, looking down toward the harbor as if they’re worried about what’s going to happen next. Even some of the kids look despondent; watching the aimless adults, waiting for reassurance.
Inside the supply store, he nods emphatically in agreement with Makoto.]
Is it really that bad? Everyone seems so intimidated by that guy.
[The supply shack owner looks up from his work, making a sour face.]
Tch. That guy? Keeps coming back like a bad penny, the fancy-ass bastard. If he gets his way, we’ll probably lose everything anyway.
[[OOC: Added another question over here!]
It's alright! Things have been similar on my end too
It's nice to meet you Katsuki-san.
[Makoto tries to keep a reassuring smile on his face on their way to the shack. He knows that they're worried, who wouldn't be, it makes him want to save their homes even more. No one should be pushed around like this! He'll do his best to lift their spirits soon, now he needs to gather some information. When they enter the shop, Makoto nods at the news the shopkeeper tells them.]
Does he come around a lot?
[The shopkeeper nodded as he leans against the counter.]
He does, he makes all his deals in private, so we don't know what's been talked about until it's too late.
[Makoto frowns as he shakes his head.]
You guys should know what's going on. You live here, if there's something big that's going to happen then you guys should know about it. Hmm, you know I have an idea on how we can get his attention. Can we borrow some markers and any blank signs that you have lying around?
we’re shining stars o/*\o
I’ve got some odds and ends I guess you could use. But what’s that gonna do?
[Soujirou smiles at him, clapping his hands together and bouncing up on his toes.]
Well, if he keeps making deals in secret, that means he’s probably not being honest, and he doesn’t want lots of attention on him, right? So it makes sense to make the whole thing as public as possible, and show that people don’t like what’s going on. So it’s something like a protest - right, Makoto? [The younger man had been so polite, using his last name and an honorific, but Soujirou is born and raised in the US and would just feel weird if he did the same. Hopefully he doesn’t mind.]
we are \o/
Soujirou is right! It's time to let him know that if he has any deals to make about your home then he tells you. We're going to make some signs to let him know that you guys aren't going to let someone come in to take your home without a fight! If we make enough signs and cause enough noise then they'll have to pay attention.
[He doesn't want to cause trouble for anyone, but he doesn't want to let things go without putting in a fighting chance either.]
no subject
I see. Well, I gotta give you that you work fast. And maybe things need a bit of shaking up around here. Come along.
[He leads them through a back door, where they find themselves behind the shop, surrounded by a number of large pieces of cardboard and assorted wooden debris. The owner disappears, returning a little while later with a bucket of black paint, a pot of glue, and some brushes.]
This ought to do for making signs. You can leave them here to dry while you’re out talking to people, or you can just bring the materials along and get some help making ‘em. Either way around, I’m guessing you’ll need more folks than me for this.
[Well, that seems to imply that he’ll be joining, right? Soujirou bounces happily, nodding.]
Thank you so much, sir. [He turns expectantly to Makoto, awaiting further instruction.] What do you think we should do first?
no subject
First, we should make some signs. Let's make one each right now then take them out to the people so we can let them know what we plan to do. We could probably get some people to come in to help us once we have the signs ready. So, let's start making some signs!
[Makoto goes over to materials to put together a sign for him and one for Soujirou. He starts to write as quickly and neatly as possible. He wants to be sure that his words don't look too sloppy. When he's finished he holds up his sign that says: We are here to stay!]
What do you think? Should I add something else to it?
no subject
It looks great! Ah, wait... [He reaches for his backpack and roots around inside it, pushing aside his broken sword, an oxygen canister, and an enormous amount of snacks, until he finds a small glass jar and twists it open. It’s apparently full of glitter, which he sprinkles liberally over first Makoto’s sign, then his own. Why Is He Like This, And Is He Actually Twelve?]
There, now they’re a bit more fun to look at! [He smears some glue on the back of his sign, and presses an appropriately shaped piece of wood against it, before carefully getting to his feet.] We can let it dry while we walk, right? We should try to get as many people to join as possible, after all.
no subject
Thanks! [Makoto watches in fascination as Soujirou pulled out the the glitter. He hasn't seen that much glitter in awhile. Well, it will bring attention to his sign.]
Yeah! It will be nice for everyone to look at too. [If the signs catches the eyes of children then they can get their parents to look at it too. Makoto nods as he carefully grabs his sign.] We should then once we do we can help them with their signs and get more attention too. Okay, let's go.
[Makoto pushes down any nerves that tries to appear on his way out of the back room. When they walk out of the shop, Makoto starts waving his sign.]
Everyone! There's still hope! Don't let them take your home away! Let him know that you're not going to move without an explanation!
[He's working off the top of his head so he hopes it sounds alright. When some of the townspeople look over at them, he starts to gain some more confidence.]
What can we do?] [One of the townspeople asks.]
Me and Soujirou can help you make signs! The shop owner gave us enough material and we can make it look as colorful as ours, right Soujirou?
no subject
That’s right! We want to help you all if we can. And the best way to make sure people listen to you is to get organized, you know?
[Probably, right? He’s honestly mostly improvising here, but it sounds right.]
If the guy who want to buy up the harbor keeps cornering people alone, then he’s probably not prepared to face all of you at once. So- So if you go get ready, we can meet you all down by the waterfront then in... mmm, four hours, when more people will be off work. And we’ll tell more people to come in that time. [He’s making a schedule on the fly here and with short notice, but hopefully they can still draw a small crowd.]
no subject
Soujirou is right! The best way to get people to listen is to organize and let your voice be heard!
[So far, so good time to keep riding this wave.]
For anyone that's not working we can help you make signs! I don't know how many signs we have for the kids, but you guys can help us decorate them! See how nice our signs are? You can help!
[Makoto nearly sighs in relief when he sees the children's eyes light up. While they're here he's going to make sure that look doesn't return.]
If you guys follow us the shop owner gave us some things to help us make signs. We can help others with their signs when they leave work too. Soujirou, do you have more glitter?
[It's an important part of this process.]
