TEAM ONE EVENT LOG

PESGARE
READY: START.

Roster: Theodore Leonhardt + Atsushi Nakajima, Augustine Sauveterre, Shinji Matou + Makoto Yuuki, Nazuna Nito + Apollo Justice, Sakutarou Oda + Howard Phillips, Carter + Mao Yata + Izumi Miyamura, Hitori Togusa + Sora Pu'uwai, Pitou Blythe + Astin Beaufort, Elizabeth Brisby + Ritsu Sakuma, Junpei Tenmyouji, Light Averly, Kiyotaka Ishida, Soujirou Katsuki + Peter Hoboken

On the morning of the fourth at 9am, you'll find yourself gathering at the beach with several other volunteers. Many of you will find yourself partnered up and with a name in mind, and awaiting in front of you is a small fishing boat equipped to carry your group. A text comes through not long after, Zee's name attached.

All aboard! Welcome, good morning, thanks for coming out. We've got a little journey ahead of us. Hope you like the ocean.

Stepping aboard, you'll notice that the boat is equip with everything you could need for a short trip three hours south of the city: fishing poles, breakfast, life jackets, etc. In addition, you'll find a handful of flares with the Retrospec symbol stamped on them that you may want to take with you. At the end of this trip, you'll find yourself pulling into a harbor of a region known as Pesgare.

Constantly overcast with the threat of rain, Pesgare is a bustling little harborside town with a wide ocean and streams leading fishermen and traders in from all parts of the world. There’s greenery and the scent of salt in the area and it’s a balmy sort of feeling the longer you linger outside.

The region known as Pesgare is filled with cramped quarters and cobblestone-esque roads and it’s hard to tell who is and isn’t from the area. There are multiple languages that can be heard (including some that are absolutely not from this earth) and it’s hard to track all of the activity in the main village. Along the roads are brick buildings and wooden shacks and the general area of the town itself is only about 500 square miles. Most of the area to explore ahead is the ocean itself to other ports and islands around.

Everyone in the town is friendly. Literally everyone. It’s hard to find anyone who isn’t in a jovial mood and who isn’t willing to help a neighbor or a stranger and they will be happy to chat about the places they’ve traveled or the people they’ve met along the way. Several of the stories revolve around travels around the globe from once upon a time, and there are others that speak of worlds far off and strange planets that you may never have heard of. It’s hard to tell if they’re serious stories or not though as the townspeople regale the tales and laugh all the while. It’s hard to go anywhere in the town without someone stopping to offer you a free loaf of bread or rush up to talk about how you remind them of someone. It’s busy, busy, busy. A lot of the places in the area appear to be trade posts for certain specialties. This includes weaponry, types of fish, cured meats and veggies, bakeries, books, equipment, curio wares and more. It’s all about supply and demand and barter and trade here.

It’s not recommended to travel at night, so most out-of-towners are directed to the inn at the top of the hill, The Ontispan. Several stories high and easily the most recognizable building in the port, you will find that it’s near the lighthouse and the owners, an elderly couple, are more than happy to take you in. There’s plenty of room! The lodging is nice and comfortable and the rolling sea outside your window is calming. However, payment must be made in the morning. No problem, right? You must have your wallet on you, mustn’t you? But the amount due is in a currency you do not have. You’ve never even heard of it! How are you supposed to pay for something like this?

It’s all about supply and demand and barter and trade. The boat you came on is nowhere in sight and none of the other fishermen will consider taking you back to the mainland while you're trying to leave without payment.

Looks like you'll just have to work off your debt, now won’t you?

This is the Team One Event Log! You are free to toplevel and thread as you choose on this log, but only team members may utilize this log.

Remember, your activity to qualify for your two free memories and one item is supplying at least 30 comments spread over the three objectives per group (minimum of 5 comments per objective!) with at least three members of your groups. You will not be eligible if you do not participate in all three objectives somehow, and you will not be eligible if you only stick with your preferred partner!

People who are paired with partners will experience some of the following:

-Telepathic connections, but only the thoughts you don’t want your partner to actually hear. You can also use this to influence your partner’s thoughts.
-Color fades when you’re not cooperating, it brightens when you are.
-Cause and effect. If something happens to your partner, you feel it (i.e. if your partner trips somewhere, you’ll feel the effects.)
-Timers. You and your partner will have a countdown embedded somewhere (hand, foot, chest, whatever) and if you don’t complete your missions and see each other before the timer runs out, consequences occur.

These are not required and you may play with these as little or as much as you want!

Important links to mod toplevels are: Mod Questions, Participation Reporting, NPC questions. Please be aware you are responsible for reporting your own participation & objective completion efforts with links. You must ICly tap into the log within the first 48 hours, or you will be removed from your team.
If your activity is low per objective, the moderators may reach out to you about reassignment as well.

The schedule for Team One is as follows:
3RD: Objective 1 posted (9PM EST) | Threading for Location Travel | Threading for Object One
Objective 2: Info for Objective Two | Threading for Objective Two
Objective 3: Info for Objective 3 | Threading for Objective Three

That's okay! It's my first time trying it and I want to make sure I get this.

[Not like he'll fish again, but it would be good to know.]

Wait, let me find it.

[Makoto pats his pockets, until he feels a bag and pulls it out.]

Here it is! I know that bait goes on the hook. I don't know how to put the bait on the hook or how much we use either.

[Augustine nods to this before he sat down at the edge of the walkway.]

Okay, what kind of bait did you got from the shack? I got some worms from the shack since they are easier for me to put it on the hook.

As for how many we use, it depends if a fish ate the bait or not. But in case they might fail, I also got some plastic lures for us to use in case of emergencies.
amodelidol: (hmm...)

[personal profile] amodelidol 2018-02-04 05:50 am (UTC)(link)
[Makoto takes a seat next to him, looking at the bait in his hand.]

They gave me worms when I told them it was my first time fishing. I got some grubs too, at the shack they told me that it would work.

[Makoto nods as he listens to the information. He looks down at the worm in his hand then hook on the fishing rod.]

Fish will grab plastic lures too? Do you put anything on the plastic lures or just throw it in the water? Oh, I should use the worms first to see what happens.

[He stares at the worm again before turning to him.]

Stick the hook through them, right?
megabond: (Smiling)

[personal profile] megabond 2018-02-04 07:48 am (UTC)(link)
[It makes sense since Makoto is a beginner and other baits might trouble him a bit. Either way, at least it is a good way to start.]

Yes. You don't need to add anything to it, though. The texture and the movement of the lure allow it to mimic a real live worm. Also, they can also use color and sounds to bait the fish more easily.

[He then takes the hook of the rod and the worm from the bag.]

Yes. Usually, there is a sock method that my father used to put the bait onto the hook. But I prefer this method.

[He then starts explaining the said method as he sticks one end of the worm onto the barbed end of the hook and pushes it halfway to it. Then he does this again to another part until worm is now punctured through the hook in an S-shaped position.]

Did you get all that?
amodelidol: (hi there)

[personal profile] amodelidol 2018-02-07 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
[Makoto looks at the difference of the baits, while listening to his explanations. Alright it doesn't look like it's too hard, if he doesn't have to add anything to it, he's half way there. He didn't know there was so much when it came to fishing. The different type of lures, the bait, and the different ways to lure the fish it's interesting.

Makoto slowly goes through the method he explained earlier, until the worm is placed on the hook in a not so perfect S, but still a S. He holds it up to show him.
]

Like this? Oh, wait, I got these nets from the shop too.

[Makoto puts the rod down before he goes over to grab the nets he got from earlier. He carries them over to show Sycamore.]

The people in shop told me we can use these nets to catch the fish in an easier way. I saw a fisherman not that far away from here, we could ask him how to use them.

[Just seeing the nets were enough to put his rod down when Makoto told him about it.]

That might be easier. Besides, I doubt we can catch one salmon in a day.

[personal profile] amodelidol 2018-02-07 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
We probably would have to stay there for awhile waiting too. These nets should make things easier! Now I wonder how do we use these. I'm going to ask the fisherman how to use these.

[Makoto gathers his nerve on his way to the fisherman. He holds up the nets as he asks him how they can use it. He waves Augustine over.]

He's going to show us how to use them. He said we keep one net under the water, until the salmon come in it.
megabond: (Smiling)

[personal profile] megabond 2018-02-07 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
[Guess that means they will do more than using rods.]

Alright, just lead the way.

[Augustine stands up and follows Makoto to where the fisherman was.]
amodelidol: (hi there)

[personal profile] amodelidol 2018-02-07 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
[Makoto walks over to the fisherman with Augustine with the nets in hand. After listening to the fisherman talk, he turns to Augustine and holds out one end of the net.]

Okay, after we put this net in the water the salmon should swim to it. Then we can use the second net to trap them, right? [Makoto looks over at the fisherman to get confirmation. When he does he turns back to Augustine.]

Right! We just have to wait for the salmon to come in.
megabond: (Content)

[personal profile] megabond 2018-02-07 04:24 am (UTC)(link)
[The whole time, Augustine has been listening to the fisherman regarding the nets and turns to Makato when he faces him.]

Sounds like a plan. I'll take care of the second net. Are you okay with the first one?
amodelidol: (hi there)

[personal profile] amodelidol 2018-02-08 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
Yep I got this one! I'll let you know when the salmon are swimming.

[Makoto turns his attention to the water, easing his net under the water, waiting for the salmon to come in like the fisherman said. He holds back his gasp when the salmon start coming in. They're coming in! When two swim into the net, Makoto looks back at Augustine.]

Did you want to wait for another one or toss the second net down now?
megabond: (Surprised/Looking)

[personal profile] megabond 2018-02-08 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
[Looks like listening to the fisherman was a good idea as he looks at the salmon coming into the net Makoto is holding.]

I'll toss it right now. I might have a feeling that the others might get many more salmon right now.

[With that said, he tossed the net into the water, hoping it may trap them as what the fisherman said.]
amodelidol: (hmm...)

[personal profile] amodelidol 2018-02-08 07:38 am (UTC)(link)
Okay, yeah I think so too.

[Makoto is glad the fisherman helped them. They would probably still be fishing if they used the poles.]

We got two! That's not bad.

[He looks over when Augustine throws over the net.]

It's working! We can pull the net up now or did you want to try to catch some more?
megabond: (Smiling)

[personal profile] megabond 2018-02-08 09:32 am (UTC)(link)
I think they should be enough now.

[He then pulls the net up very slowly as he waits for Makoto to do the same thing.]

Regardless, this is enough to make a trade with the shack owner for now.
amodelidol: (*is excited*)

[personal profile] amodelidol 2018-02-09 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
[Makoto nods as he starts to pull up the net just as slowly.]

Yes, we have enough to trade now! Do you know what we're trading for? Or are we trading for something in the shop or some other clue?
megabond: (Thinking)

[personal profile] megabond 2018-02-09 04:46 am (UTC)(link)
Possibly for tools needed at the inn as the others mentioned. Either way, these may able to help us in the long run. I just hope the others have any luck on their end.
amodelidol: (hmm...)

[personal profile] amodelidol 2018-02-10 12:30 am (UTC)(link)
I hope they did too. We should go take these fish to the shack owner then see what we should do next. Oh and thank the fisherman for helping us with this too.
megabond: (Smiling)

[personal profile] megabond 2018-02-10 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
Good idea. Let's go.

[He then follows Makoto not only to thank the fisherman for his advice but also to the shack owner.]
