[ It's been wild, lately. The world has changed dramatically and try as she might, Elda Marker cannot deny that she has changed some along with it. It's probably this, as much as anything else, which saw her no longer content to have the normal small little private Thanksgiving she's tended to have with just her son.

... After all, family can grow, right?

She intended to invite Silver, knew she wanted to invite Albert, but then the significant others(?) of both of them have gotten roped in as well. She explained it all to Toushiro, who seemed confused at how Albert or Jaeger fits into anything but was privately pleased to have Silver around for this. Still...

Elda took it upon herself to make everything? Turkey, casseroles, Yorkshire Pudding, deviled eggs, cream corn. She's not sure what everyone wants but no one said that they had allergies and if she has to feed Silver's monsters a little too, then... well, this is good to have a bigger than they perhaps need amount. The whole thing takes most of the day (people are invited to show up whenever they want in the course of the day and sit around if they want) and she'll accept any help but... well, dinner itself will be the main event? Anyway, let's have a nice family. Event. ]

[This is as nice as he thought it would be. Elda's made a huge, delicious meal, everyone's gathered together, and it fills him with a real big sense of, uh... Nervousness, actually. This was a good idea on paper. It's impossible not to enjoy food, Elda gets to spend time with a nicely sized group instead of just her and Toushiro, and everyone else at the table would most likely be spending it alone.

But that doesn't change the slight sense of awkwardness and unease as everyone settles down, which means only one thing: It's time to act natural and open his mouth.]

Oh, I should hope so! A lot of these are my grandmother's recipes, you know. Of course not everything, but we've got some British classics as well.

Oh she was a beautiful woman. Proper old English woman... she passed by the time I was in college, but when I was young we would go out to her estate and enjoyed ourselves out there. [ A nod. ] This house used to be theirs, and she lived here with her husband, and my father was born and inherited it while I was young. They'd retired back to somewhere more south and smaller, you know, for weather. So we went to meet them.

[...You know, this entire thing is actually surprisingly nice, in a way that Wesker isn't exactly used to, and apparently today we can all be thankful for the fact that he's actually not wearing his sunglasses indoors like a total tool.

...That said, god help you if anybody thinks he's going to manage to contribute to any sort of conversation because oh dear god, it is clearly time to not utilize words and instead just kind of. watch everyone. because that's reasonable.]

It's still awkward. She's noticing everyone here is trying very hard and maybe they should try a little less hard, but she gets the feeling that probably wouldn't help very much. Jut a feeling. Just. A feeling.

At least she's enjoying the... food... though, she catches Wesker also playing the not-talking game and watches the others for a moment before she just kind of. decides they're going to have a conversation too. SO HELLO, WESKER. ]

Well, it may be a bit far, but I feel that exaggeration is important when it comes to relationships. After all, if you say something enough, it'll eventually become true... and "picture perfect neighbors" sounds like a wonderful thing to shoot for.
