TEAM SNOW WHITE LOG
READY: START Team Snow White roster: Davey Jacobs, Eleanor Lamb, Fang, Kasen Kanesada, Malik Ishtar, Mari Ohara, Riku, Ritsu Kageyama, Ryoji Mochizuki, Toushiro Hitsugaya, Yuri Plisetsky. The city's been under siege for what feels like hours. It's only on August 3rd that you learn it's been a matter of days. Monsters begin pulling Retrospec users through portals left and right, large gaping holes in reality that spit you out in any given location around the city. However, just as you think you're finally getting away, a large blue portal opens and you're snatched up. No amount of fighting and struggling will free you and soon the pressure is too great to ignore. Darkness fills your vision and the last thing you may remember is the sound of many bat wings... This is the Team Snow White Event Log. You are free to toplevel and thread as you choose on this log, but only team members may utilize this log. Important links to mod toplevels are: Mod Questions & Participation Reporting. Please be aware you are responsible for reporting your own participation & objective completion efforts with links; the moderators will try to keep up with threads, but as we are currently running several teams with participation, we require you to keep us up to date! Please read each of the toplevels and instructions!
The schedule for Team Snow White is as follows: 3RD: Objective 1 posted (9PM EST) | Objective 1 Part TwoObjectives will be given in mod toplevels to this post with instructions; please check the log currently for Objective 1 to see how this will work. |
exploration: cemetery (closed)
Walking around the back of the manor, however, something else caught his attention: the cemetery. While he never considered himself a grave robber, his curiosity piqued. Not to mention, a few key memories (tombkeepers? death??) swirled in his mind.
He's gonna check it out. ]

Houses and a cemetery mean people used to live here. I wonder where they're all gone...
no subject
[ Well, Ryoji is less stressful than Yuri, even if Malik never particularly got along with Ryoji in the first place. So he continues to wander forward, not bothered by the presence.
The holes, however, are a little more... bothersome. ]
Looks like someone's beaten us to grave robbing.
no subject
His stress is bottled up inside, slow shuffles across the grounds to keep from tripping over the holes, eyes trailing from gravestone to gravestone to... the open grave, the broken shovels. He kneels down at the edge of the grave, leaning over to look down into the bottom just far enough to not fall in himself. ]
I didn't think people got buried with their possessions anymore... A lot of these holes aren't even marked by gravestones though? It doesn't look like they're looking for a grave in particular.
no subject
Well, they're obviously looking for something... And why waste time looking if it isn't valuable?
[ Malik looks in a couple of the holes, and frowns when he sees it's just. Dirt. It's not surprising yet still somehow disappointing.
Then there's the matter of the open grave, which he then makes a beeline too. ]
Hey, look at this. It's not empty.
no subject
[ Random holes everywhere, that he almost nearly falls into with every step he takes to pull away and stick a little closer to Malik's side. It's a grave. Not-empty graves means there's probably a body inside??? He's not prepared. ]
Why don't you look at it? I'll go look somewhere else, so we can cover more ground.
no subject
So he jumps in.
The soft wood of the old coffin makes for a relatively okay landing, though some of it splinters under Malik's feet. It takes a split second for it to register: there's nothing here. No body, no nothing. So from the bottom of the grave, he yells: ]
Hey! There's nothing down here.
no subject
What do you mean nothing? Somebody stole an entire body...?
no subject
[ Speaking of, Malik also wants to get out. He tries to jump and climb his way to safety, but the ground is too soft and his desperate clawing yields little results as he slides back down. It does leave claw marks on the edge of the grave, howeve, for that creepy #aesthetic. ]
no subject
[ Zombies with much more upper body strength than Malik, apparently, to be able climb out where Malik can't. Graves are about six feet, and Ryoji should be able to reach him if he extends a hand, but when he steps closer to the edge, the ground crumbles a little more, sending a shower of soil down onto Malik's head. At the interest of not burying him alive, Ryoji backs off, looking around for rope or something he can use to pull Malik out. Maybe there'll be something in one of the shacks? This entire month would be so useful if Ryoji could still fly. ]
...I'll be right back.
[ Goodbye forever. ]

Ryoji returns with Ritsu in tow, and some supplies along with them, namely maps, shovels, and rope and sheets to help a certain someonw. Who knows how long Malik's spent alone in the graveyard. Hope he wasn't too lonely. ]
How on earth did you not notice such an obvious hole?
[ Because he's giving the benefit of the doubt that he didn't just willingly dive in. ]
no subject
Then he hears a difference voice, yet one somewhat familiar... but no matter, Malik snaps back anyway. ]
What do you mean, 'not notice?' I noticed it just fine! There was something down here and I wanted to get a better look.
[ He willingly jumped in. ]
no subject
Sorry, I should have been looking after you, Malik... Did you find something down there after all?
[ Instead of. Jumping down a hole and having nothing to show for it.
But finding nothing is also a useful clue, as Ryoji and Ritsu had come back with a bunch of maps to pore over, and this grave doesn't look like the last one and whatever was being searched for might not have been found yet. ]
no subject
[ Well if he has all this energy, maybe they'd find what they were looking for quicker. Assuming he didn't jump into more fruitless holes.
Ritsu goes ahead and holds the rope, and gives a quick glance around the cemetery, to apologize for just barging in like this as per Ryoji's wishes. But this was strange. Why aren't there any ghosts? ]
no subject
Anyway, Malik takes the rope. ]
Not down here. But there's-- I can hear music coming from somewhere. [ A piano, to be more precise. ]
I take it you didn't find anything either while you were gone.
no subject
[ Sorry, Malik, Ryoji stops pulling on the rope and motions for Ritsu to stop too. Can he hear anything? ]
no subject
Has it been playing all this time?
[ But then, he shakes his head. ]
It's... not a ghost though. At least, not from here. There aren't any spirits around. Which is... weird.
no subject
[ That being said, he can actually, successfully climb out. ]
--Oh, great. Because I was really concerned about ghosts playing music for me before.
no subject
...Would you be more concerned about somebody living playing music? There were bedsheets out at the shack Ritsu and I looked through. I think there might be somebody still living in that house! Somebody here might know what's going on, and might be able to help us!
no subject
I don't know what anyone would gain from making a fake cemetery, so... Sorry Ryoji-san, I don't think there's anyone we can explain ourselves to. We'll just keep our sympathies in our hearts.
[ Ritsu's still bothered by this whole thing on principle. Their "way in" through the mansion probably meant that was right as their naxt path, but he wonders if they're in cahoots with Retrospec or something. ]
Do you want to call out to them? No harm in trying.
no subject
I went to the mansion earlier and all the windows were locked. So even if they ignore us, there's no way in. I'm not particularly interested in piano lessons, so I'd much rather search around here first. It's why I came here, after all.
no subject
Ghosts. Even if there's nobody to hear, expressing out sentiments wouldn't be bad, especially while we're here...
[ Ryoji lays out the maps on the ground, weighing them down with the length of his shovel so they don't blow away or fall into one of the holes, and then clasps his hands together. ]
Dear spirits which occupy this place, please forgive our intrusion. We are lost just as you are lost, and would appreciate any guidance that may be given.
no subject
[ Though obviously that wasn't the proper way to "win", so it probably wouldn't work by the forces of meta. It's extremely hard to tell if he's joking or not. In contrast, Ryoji really was a nice guy. Ritsu wonders how long he'll keep being surprised by its extent.
Anyway; he looks to the map, and to the lineup of graves. ]
The circled ones... are probably places marked to dig. Assuming they didn't find what they were looking for, either all these circles are wrong or there's some that aren't done yet.
no subject
[ So he turns his attention to said map and Ritsu. ]
My guess would be that there's still some places left to dig, or else there's no reason to keep the map. Like... here, and here. [ He points to a few circles that seem like they have no matching holes dug yet. ]
no subject
Ryoji murmurs something about positive energy under his breath, not everybody needs to be physically there in order to be of help. But ghosts can't help them dig; it's on them and Ryoji looks from the map to the cemetery grounds and back, trying to get a sense of the scale between the holes already dug up, so they could disturb the cemetery as least as possible.
Okay. Everybody pick a spot and dig... ]
