Look, Tatsuo knows he's not dealing with August appropriately. And frankly, he kind of hates himself for dealing with it this way. Like, really hates himself. He knows he should ask for help, but he's never been big on asking for help in the first place. Beecause it's 'working' for now, at least, that's what he tells himself, even though it's like putting a bandaid on a wound that needs stitches.

[ he chuckles, because sorry tatsuo, that was just apparently a funny metaphor to use in light of the topic. maybe he shouldn't have a third drink if he's already going to be like that.

that doesn't last long, though, as he formulates a reply: ]

Yeah, that's important... because, after all, we don't really get that much choice in the end. [ he lifts his shoulders in a shrug. ] Kinda hard to pick 'n choose how somethin' ends up affectin' you, y'know?

True, at the moment there isn't really anything we can do about what happens to us. But how we react to what's going on... that at least is still within our power.
